As a huge AP slut, I'm kind of glad I don't like their recent releases so I can really save for my dream dresses. There's something very Taobao-y about those cupcakes....

Not as coveted as AP, no, but closet child has a huge jump between the pricing for unshirred and shirred ETC. An unshirred ETC dress would be sub-10k yen, while the exact same print on a shirred dress would be around the 20k yen mark. That might be what you saw.

Additionally, ETC has some hit prints that more girls want than other prints. I think the gingerbread house, the chocolate bunnies? Those go for near retail prices because girls want those particular prints a lot more than others.

I own the original chocolate bunnies JSK (and quite a few other ETC dresses) and I think it's adorable. I love the fabric they use, it's silky and textured and the colors are so nice. The cuts only have small details, but they are well made and nice for casual wear. For example, the waist bow on chocolate bunnies has a lovely shape, there's some trimmings at the collar and the straps are velvet. On other dresses, they have golden trims, sparkly chiffon ruffles and cute bows. I have to agree, that the new version of choclate bunnies looks like shit, but overall the quality is nice and a lot of cuts have small but very cute details.

No, this is the original dress...since the designer left, they did a lot of rereleases of older prints with very questionable cuts. Meanwhile, Leur Getter does adorable, more mature prints with cuts that look more like older ETC, but are also a bit more same-y.

I feel ETC lost its spark since the designer left, but Leur Getter dresses are harder to find than ETC used to be..? This is one of my dream dresses, but I rarely see it for sale.

Leur Getter is relatively new, same reason it's hard to find Sheglit stuff -- there isn't decades-old hand-me-downs floating around. ETC only looks easier to find because like the chocolate bunnies dress, they've been re-releasing their popular prints, so there's more of those to go around.

This is one fine dress, though. I'd put it on my wishlist if you hadn't already said it's so hard to fine. Damn. Here's hoping they make more cute stuff this season.
