How about we get a general thread going for "casual" girly styles?
Defined styles like himekaji, roma gyaru, otome-kei/soft lolita welcome as well as undefined street style.
Try to keep larme, fairy kei, etc in their own threads--but let's not get too hung up on thread policing.
I need jeans. What kind of jeans should I get
>>9360502
I like light wash jeans because they pair nicely with pastels. I generally don't wear pants, though, so I don't have much jean inspo.
>>9360505
ill post what I can find
>>9360515
colored jeans might be a nice option
>>9360520
This is pretty much all I got. If anyone else has jean inspo, please jump in!
>>9360543
yeah, I think loose or vintage inspired is a good idea. definitely high waisted
I don't want this thread to die! I live for stuff like this.

But I'd like to ask for more stuff with polka dots and pastel colors. Especially pink or purple.
Maybe some discussion would help keep the thread alive.
Where's a good place to find causal cute/girly clothes?
I've been trying to build more of a casual wardrobe. I check places like LM/kei market/depop/etc. Mostly finding stuff from Liz Lisa or Axes Femme. Wondering if it would be worth it to go the fril/yja route or if that would get too expensive with fees & overseas shipping.
>>9363812
Do you live in a rural area? If you go to Koreatown or Japantown in a city, it's easy to find this look.
>>9363820
I guess so? In the sense that there isn't a large Japan/Koreantown nearby.
I'm mostly looking for casual clothes by Japanese brands like Liz Lisa/Axes Femme/Fint/etc since they tend to have better quality clothes.
>>9363812
imo, western sellers mark up the prices of these brands like a mother. fees and shipping can get pricey if you buy overseas but i stay clear when sellers charge $50-80 for a liz lisa dress that i can find on auction sites for $15 or less.
you can also find cutesy shit at normie stores. just style them appropriately.
>>9363865
I avoid those kind of sellers. I usually shoot for around $15-30 when I buy stuff since I figure that's not too bad of a markup. After fees and everything, how much would that $15 or less stuff come out to? I want to try auctions but SS are a little confusing.
>>9363875
The dresses retail for $90+. These days, some of them are more like $110.
$15-$30 is not a markup at all. Even for used.
>>9360505
I love the design on these from rakuten but they're not long enough so I'm going to DIY a pair myself

I follow a whole bunch of japanese sellers on ebay. They sell a lot of liz lisa and axes femme but a lot of the time other cute brands pop up. The postage is always a pain if it's from Japan, but somehow it's actually a lot cheaper than ordering from the US for me.
you'll be able to find cute clothes in a lot of normie shops, it's things like thigh highs and other accessories that make the outfit.
>>9363865
$50 for a good condition, newer print liz lisa OP is actually pretty damn cheap.

Buyee charges 350 yen flat for y!j auctions and 500 for package inspection and insurance (300 for just one of those, or you can get neither for free).
For reference my recent order looks like:
-Ank Rouge skirt $34, tracked and insured
-Set of two Axes Femme skirts $18, tracked and insured
-Liz Lisa necklace $7, no tracking or insurance
-Liz Lisa wallet, $45 tracked and insured
Not sure what my shipping cost will be, but in my experience I'll combine the packages for 1000 yen and ship EMs for ~$20-30 dollars. Does this help?
>>9364119
oh, this is usd btw

>How would you gulls describe your daily casual style?
Otome-kaji? haha, I tend to flip between or blend the two styles depending on where I'm going
How do you wish your daily style looked like?
I'm OP, and you can get a pretty good sense of how I try to dress from my inspo dump lol (lots of hats, brown/pink, toned down gyaru influences)
What's your favourite piece of clothing to use in an outfit?
An Ank Rouge skirt that's just long and plain enough to work for otome kei but can be styled perfectly for himekaji. The dream...
>>9364119
That's a cute skirt, what do the axes femme ones look like? It's interesting seeing it all broken down like that. i'm not who you're replying to but i'm still new to SS.
>>9364131
i loove this style and the ones you posted. it's so feminine and easy. i sometimes look at my closet and feel sad that it's not filled with pretty dresses and skirts yet.
>>9364153
Good news, those posts are both me! We seem to have very similar styles, I have both those coords saved too :)
Skirt one
>>9364170
Skirt two
(the goal of this order was to pick up more deep colors so I don't look like jfashion barbie every day)
>>9364171
Necklace
>>9364173
Wallet
Note: I probably bid higher than necessary. you could get better prices if you'd be more willing to lose a lot of auctions
>>9364170
which posts do you mean haha?
those skirts are fuckin adorable. you could totally work them into lots of different coords.
>>9364188
Both you replied to (I'm the OP and the buyee person).
Thanks!!! I try to buy versatile skirts when possible. They make life so much easier.
Does anyone know any Western brands that have girly and quality clothing like Katie and Axes Femme? Please don't say H&M, forever 21 etc.
>>9364207
I don't buy much western, but I love voodoo vixen for cute cardigans. They've been quality for the price and have jfash friendly cuts and designs.
>>9364207
if you're in the UK then Hellbunny makes some nice pinup type dresses. some of them are more femenine, some more gothic.
I had a look around, depressingly I can't find any western brands that have good selections of femenine/cute clothes. on the up side though, axes femme is creating a global webshop soon.
>>9364194
ooh, i see!
So I randomly decided to check out suiprincess's blog after not following her for a year and a half only to find all of the old posts gone. So I checked out her instagram and was greeted with pic related and felt disturbed. Wtf happened to her?! Why is she so obsessed with Melanie Martinez? I used to like her hime gyaru coords and some of her other jfashion coords so I was shocked to see her aesthetic change like this.
*Sorry if this isn't totally relevent to this thread but she still wears jfashions, so I thought this would be the thread to ask about her.*
>>9364284
Shit, forgot to add pic
>>9364243
I might have too high standards, but I've never been impressed with hellbunny's quality for what they charge
>>9364207
For quality, Red Valentino all day every day. Also a big fan of Kate Spade, Miu Miu, Anna October and Chloe.
>>9364371
Seconding Kate Spade. Also Betsy Johnson has some workable stuff
This thread has been a life saver. My girlfriend has been curious about "dressing more cutesy" but we've been to like 3 malls and nothing like what she likes, then she saw images I sent from this thread to see if it appeals to her and she loves it. Thanks for the shop recommendations and such everyone. :)
I apologize for the second reply, but we were specifically interested in finding shorts/garter combos, is there sa specific phrase like the other stuff mentioned here that would describe that style?
The reason is she found a gif of Hwasa in a shorts/garter combo and loved it.
>>9364850
> Shorts/garter combos
Are you talking about wearing shorts and also garters? Because that's a fairly generic just Asian street style thing. If you can post a picture of an outfit in particular you like with that combination we could probably point you in a direction.
>>9364850
Idk if maybe you're wanting agejo. Or Mars style. Check the gyaru thread
>>9364284
No idea, I'd also like to know as her swan-kiss phase was interesting but I really miss her hime-gyaru photos.
I think the Melanie Martinez obsession is just creepy but maybe it's more about her feeling her age and not wanting to grow up despite being late twenties
>>9364207
You could try Miss Patina
>>9363820
Many large-ish cities in the US, especially in the South and Midwest don't have big Asian populations. For me, I could go to Atlanta, which has a huge Korean population, but it's 3 hours away. And I do live in a large city in the South. I can't think of any other cities in the South that have a large Asian population, except for maybe some places in North Carolina. I doubt Houston would count.
Does anyone have any more tomboy kind of cutesy stuff? Not tomboy necessarily, but something that's still delicate but moves more away from skirts and dresses?
>>9360523
>>9363766
>>9363863
This is kind of what I have in mind. If not, what should I be searching for if I want to do a little research?

>>9365987
You could make a tomboy thread.. this is a girly thread
>>9365999
I don't have enough content to start a thread of my own, though.
>Not tomboy necessarily, something that's still delicate but moves more away from skirts and dresses.
>quotes a bunch of pictures with jeans, pants and shirts
>This is kind of what I have in mind.
Nice trips anyway.
>>9366001
Shit, I meant "shorts," not "shirts."
>>9366001
It kind of doesn't help that you're not describing it well.
>>9366001
yyeah you showed me the least girly coords in the thread, I get it. You don't need a lot of your own content to start a thread. But if you mean girly coords using shorts, you could check out the brands already mentioned in this thread because most of them usually have shorts and trousers in stock. Pic related is fi.n.t
>>9366012
Yeah most cute brands already have pants and shorts. I think someone did a pants dump earlier. You might also be interested in the girlier side of Larme as well.
>>9365845
oh my lord, thank you for mentioning this brand. And it's UK based tooo, i'm so happy.
>>9366001
you might like this style, I forgot the name of it though. come to think of it, it might not actually be an individual style.
Pretty positive this isn't what they were looking for, but hey, I'll take an excuse to dump shorts

Anybody got any good hat outfits? I never wear hats but I just picked this small-brim kinda floppy one up from clearance at F21 figuring I can do something general cute or even mori-ish with it. It looks like this but medium brown.
>>9368543
Here are some ideas
I'm going to make the assumption you gulls wear cute stuff everyday. What shoes should I get that are durable and can handle a decent amount of mess? As is, I'm just wearing sneakers or leather boots with all my outfits until warm weather hits.
Also, if anyone wants to selfpost some stuff, I'd love to see it. Images in this thread are great but largely stock photos/not actual ootds.

I don't like to take selfies because I'm trash at cameras but maybe I'll snap a few of my photos this week.
My go to shoes are oxford heels and platform boots/sandals because I've lived in heels since I was a teen. I do have a few nice pairs of ballet flats and preppy loafers for grocery trips or when I expect to be walking a mile or two away. I'd say larme or preppy western styles might be two directions to look for comfy flats that don't fuck up your aesth.
Pictured: bought these flats this week because I'll be walking more come spring
I live for this thread, but now I'm super butthurt because of a bad haircut where was this thread a month ago
>decided after many years of being tomboyish I wanted to embrace my femininity and look cute
>grow hair out for months, and start jfash wardrobe
>end of 2016 look p cute in all my clothes, grow self esteem
>begin 2017 mom says i should get my hair styled, dyed
>have always cut and styled my own hair be iffy, but want to try it at least once and get it dyed a colour i want
>go to salon iffy but hoping to look extra cute
>leave salon with 50yo white mom hair style, not the colour i wanted
>go home cut and style hair
>look like 12yo boy again, go back to wearing boystyle
'I'm so sad none of my jfash is as cute on me as it did with my medium length hair, it took me so long to grow it ;_;
Anybody have a cute inspiration pics with short hair?
>>9370247
I don't have any, but I think Okada Nana from AKB48 looks pretty cute. She's a bit tomboyish, but being an idol and all, she has cute inspo sometimes!
Okada Nana (Naachan) on the right ofcourse.
>>9370247
>>9370468
Yamamoto Sayaka might have some inspo too, though her hair hasn't been as short as Nana's. She grew her hair out now as well.
>>9370247
>>9370468
>>9370473
Ikoma Rina (Nogizaka46) have also had pretty short hair. Sorry for only posting idols, I don't know of any short haired models. I hope the names are useful though! Good luck.
>>9369288
Selfposting an outfit from last summer. I'm not good at coordinating, I almost think this fit is too customey?
I think it's a combination of OTKs, the bag and the jellies but I'm not sure. Concrit is appreciated!
>Roast me, gulls
>>9370504
Cute!!! Thanks for sharing.
I don't think it's too costume-y, but I do think the fit of the the pieces don't work for how you layered them. The top dress is tighter than the t-shirt so it bunches up weird. I'd rather see the shirt over the skirt and lose the cardi. It would look more casual and balanced.
>>9370504
cute but the shoe look out of place. id go with white lacey flats or strap shoes
>>9370504
Very cute, I was the anon you responded to. I agree that the lace overdress looks odd, but the detail of the pink bow purse is super cute! Would love to see other outfits from you.
>>9370247

I rarely wear cute coords, I actually wear really plain clothes irl..
>>9371182
It's just the particular tee, not the overlay itself! I think the overlay with a tighter shirt underneath could be very cute
>>9364285
She always obsesses with a female singer or a brand fora while. When she was into Lolita, it was only because of Katy perry s shoot with AP.
What are good sites for clothes like this
>>9371099
I wondered this about Liz Lisa, I've heard taller girls can wear it but I'm short and curvy and hate showing too much leg since my legs are a lot bigger compared to my waist than most people. Does anyone have LL or other cute casual stuff that comes almost to the knee (I'm 5'3" so not tall but also not short)
>>9378967
Yes. You just have to look for them.
http://liz-lisa.tumblr.com/tagged/longer-skirts
>>9378967
I'm 5'5 and Liz Lisa's knee length skirts on model fit me. You can usually find the heights of some models/shop staff that matches you and see where the skirt ends on them.
Does anyone have any suggestions for online sites that sell these styles preferably brand that are outside Japan? Maybe in Europe. I like dreamybows but they rarely restock anything!
>>9378940
The brands' actual webstores. Unless you're into replicas.
What brands would and wouldn't fit for a 5'9" height?
>>9380644
It depends how you want to wear the items and what level of modesty you're comfortable with. There are plenty of taller girls who find ways to make items from all kinds of brands work to their advantage.
>>9364243
Holy shit anon, that news about Axes Femme just made my day!
>>9379962
I like Dreamy Bows too but they are so bad with restocking. I would be interested in other websites in Europe too.
>>9364285
