Dressmaking crystals or rhinestones.

Any reccomendations on dyes for non-cotton fabrics? I want to get started on Victor's pink outfit but I haven't found any dyes for synthetic fabrics, locally.
I've read about iDye but their Poly line is quite small. Has anyone attempted to mix their colors? Or that can reccomend another brand for non-natural fibers.
Also, regarding gradient dyeing in general, have you had more luck dip dyeing or using the spray on method? Might just go and ask in the general help thread, just wanted to ask here in case someone else had done the same costume and had experinces to tell

Unless I'm horribly mistaken, those are these. Which don't get me wrong, were a terrible pick for this cosplay since traditional inlines would have looked much closer to ice skates if you simply HAD to use roller blades, but they are still inline skates.

The difference is that these are "all terrain" wheels - they're made for off roading on gravel and stuff like that.

That doesn't align with the culture of cosplay on 4chan, but it is an integral part of fandom circles in other areas of the internet. Selfie compilations like this are like 300 word fanfic drabbles. It's part of fandom as a dialogue, instead of fandom as a performance or presentation. I mean, yeah, the cosplays suck in every objective sense, but that isn't even the point. I don't participate in this kind of fandom creation myself, but I followed a cosplayer who did for a while back in the HINABN fandom and it was fun.

If you don't get clothes that match the color and shape of the outfit, that usually just looks half assed, and often unrecognizable unless the character has really distinct hair or other features.

Man it is hard to be a good looking Viktor.

He's got a sharp jawline and nice features overall that are hard to fake. Thus SO MUCH SHOOP on everyone.

So what do you think about that trend of doing some "Asian anime eyes" makeup with YOI cosplay? Most characters in that show are not Asian, and while it might look good when done right, it's simply inaccurate for, let's say, Chris or Viktor to look Asian.

I'd say you want to do what looks best on you. Usually it isn't the asian style make up but sometimes it is.
Sometimes it's matching the style done in the show cause it suits you.
Sometimes you already have the natural features so it's best to just add a little mascara and you're done.

So far even Asian people don't really look like Yuuri cause they drew him with such large eyes and yeah real people don't have those. Which is a shame cause Yuuri is such an asian dude in other aspects.

To be fair that was the costumers original intent, the way it's animated and illustrated in the official material is different and makes it look like the crystals are applied to the jacket instead. thanks! I really wasn't sure how to go about cutting more than just around parts of the muzzle. It's hard enough cutting a wig for me, grooming a fake dog is p daunting. I was getting a lot of suggestions to not cut it or poof it out like a real poodle might, so that only let me hesitate. It's good to get more feedback now tho. Do you think I should puff up around the bottoms of the feet? Generally all over after (or before?) cutting?

Here's a weird idea but I would test it with your material scraps first. When you wash something with fake fur then put it in the dryer instead of air drying it the fibers tend to curl in from the heat and lose the fluff. Maybe that would actually be a helpful effect for Makkachin?

Pretty expensive, but fun. I wonder if it would be cheaper to order the charms in bulk through vograce or make them yourself from shrinky dink. I think printer shrinky dink may actually add up to be more expensive for such a large run, but I'm not sure. It would be PROHIBITIVELY expensive to do with official merch. Even as an ita bagger with a Victuuri bag & merch preorders going out four months I don't have nearly enough to pull it off.

The interview with the costume designer specifies how she made her ORIGINAL designs, many of which were edited before they were animated to make them more animation friendly.

What is canon and in the show & what the designer originally intended are not necessarily the same thing. It's cool that we have all this information from the designer, and seeing cosplays accurate to those versions of the design is also cool - but there's no reason to get upset over something that is accurate to the source material the cosplayer was referencing.

Eh, it warms my heart to see actual athletes enjoy YoI so much they incorporate it in their routines or even just rant about it on social media. You bet I would do the same if there was an anime as cute and as heartwarming as YoI dedicated to my life long passions/career. I don't find it cringy at all.

Curious, is anyone here intent on shelling out the money to get the high brand clothing items of the character's daily clothes? Before I got my hardshell leopard suitcase (found in a discount store of all places?) I was looking for suitcase covers and they have some in animal print. They just pull over and fasten with velcro.

I'm already planning to deck my suitcase with YoI related stuff to match my cosplay since I'll be going a bit plain without the hoodie and sweatshirt because of summer heat.
