Who said nice cosplay? a meme costume or even any costume at all would look nice. There are cozy costumes that aren't character specific or more casual. For example you could do a bunny suit if u wanna be cute at the dance or I might go as shimakaze since it's not one of my handmade costumes.

Who wants to crowd into a dirty area other people need to use, creating a fire hazard and annoying the staff? Seems pretty inconsiderate when there's the whole convention center to meet at. I'd love to see a meetup for everyone somewhere clean where there would be space to chill.

The tickets are nowhere near close to being sold out since they got rid of the early bird pricing.

Anime Hell is always fun. Series photoshoots are fun. The maid cafe is pretty above average in both performances, outfits and cute girls. Seiyuu panels are fun, especially the idol show ones. A few culture panelists are super good, like the Japanese Navy historian and Charles Dunbar last year.

Camp out in the shrubs beside the highway.
Live out of a backpack and sleep in hotel lobbies about 2 hours at a time.
Rent a minivan/tiny RV and sleep in the TCC parking lot. Come to think about it, I'm surprised this isn't more common especially in cons with hotel rooms that sell out quick.

Fav: the photoshoots, had a blast just hanging out with people
Least Fav: The Food in Japan panel, that was boring af

Best: The IM@S voice actress panels. I haven't even seen the whole show but they're so fun and friendly I go every chance I get.
Worst: Dealer's room. Everything was either overpriced and easy to find online or something I wasn't interested in. I might just skip it and stick to the AA next time.

This is going to be my first con. Snagged tickets for the tea party too, hoping to meet lots of lolitas and hopefully not get "glomped" by fat cosplayers

friend of mine got charged for Crowne Plaza way back in August.

Looks like a lot of the hotels associating with AN are charging early to stop people from booking rooms and cancelling last minute because "whoops I actually don't have money for this"

I understand changing a deposit but charging the entire stay almost 5 months beforehand is not something that any other hotel I've stayed at has done.

I am going and cosplaying idolized school idol Kotori from Love Live! I'm going solo because I don't have any friends into idol shit. I've never been to a con before. I've always been way too scared to go because they are filled to the brim with normies.

The hotels just pulled a fast one on everyone this year, just another reason as to why AN isn't a great con at all.

Got charged by Crowne Plaza months before, like anon's friend, but just the deposit. Seems pretty skeevy since the terms listed that the deposit only needed to be paid the night of, but it was pay or lose the room.
