Something that I think happens a lot with beginners in handmade clothing is that they don't take a break from the dress. It's like when you work one something for a long time and think it's absolutely fantastic, but when you come to it later on you see it more objectively. I can tell a ton of work went into the dress, but it doesn't look good, and I think if this girl has let the project sit for a day or two, then came back to it she would have restyled it. Just my two cents.

Man, this just hurts my heart. Her construction is good, the chiffon and trim look nice, the hems are neat, she's obviously not an incompetent seamstress. And yet that bodice design is so so unfitting for lolita, the length of the skirt is awkward as hell, and the print just doesn't go with the delicate ruffles.

If she'd done a solid skirt, at the proper length, it would've been fantastic. Those ruffles on a solid OP with other delicate details (little chiffon sleeves? heck yes) would have been fantastic. Hell, even that fabric would look endearing as a simple country-ish JSK.

Im not exactly thrilled by it, its little lumpy like in the ero girl pic, but when I throw my malco modes petti over it, it does give a nice amount of poof I wasnt able to get before! I sometimes wear it just by itself for really toned down coords and the leather is flat so it doesnt really show through any of my dresses unless its being pressed against the hoop for some reason.

I live in texas so I love being able to wear it under my petti to get it off my legs and get some more air.

I also found it really easy to sit in! I wear it regularly to college and sit in desks without any problem whatsoever.

Its a cheap cage skirt unless you go for a bridal one on ebay and cut off some hoops.

I think it was worth it for me at least, it really adds just enough extra poof to keep me happy.

However when I have the money I think I will invest in a better hoop skirt, theres a woman on etsy that makes some specifically designed to be worn with lolita dresses, but theys like 140 usd.
