I use to adore and aspire to he a purely old school lolita a LA Momoko. But lately I feel as if I look old and manly and note cute at all. I've only found myself to be pretty or beautiful in classic or Gothic.

$500 on Horror Garden OP in white with the KC.
>>
>>9322364
I spent around $570 for Le Petit Chaperon Rouge JSK I in Red. That included shipping. Then I spent around another $120 for the red capelet to go with it. I will never spend that much on an item again though. That was my ultimate dream dress and I didn't foresee any re-release.

Where do you gulls look for tights (or OTKs) in unusual colors? I'm looking for lace or subtly patterned tights to match an unusual shade of pink blouse and I'm coming up blank. Has anyone had luck dyeing tights? What materials/dyes have you found work best?
>>
>>9322641
You could try dyeing tights with iDye Poly, but it might be more of a fight than it's worth. I'll tell you what I do to try to match odd colors, though. I generally get a pair of solid color tights from We Love Colors. They come in an incredible amount of shades and even are available in plus size and tall size. Then I find a pair of lace crochet tights in a neutral shade (usually off white but sometimes black) to layer over the solid tights. If you're in the US, I've had luck getting nice crochet tights at Target. I get a ton of compliments every time I wear this combination.
>>
>>9322659
Would you believe that I've already looked and they don't have a shade close (I'm looking for a sort of "dusty rose")? I like your idea though. If I can find a suitable pair of solid colored tights I have a pair of Merona (aka Target) OTKs in off white that will be perfect.
>>
I don't known if there's a better place to put this, so I'll just ask here: are there any tips on brightening fading print? I got Angelic Pretty's Dreamy Dollhouse in Lavender and part of the skirt is fading a bit badly, almost to the point of appearing yellowish.
It was cheap and nice for casual wear but if I can fix it up a little I'd be much happier.

>>
>>9322364
I'm cheap, the most I've spent was $280 for a Honey Cake switching jsk in mint.

The most I'd ever be willing to spend on a lolita dress is around $500 USD, and that is only for Fragrant Rose Memories in the Vivienne cut only. Besides that, I won't go over $300 for any dress.
>>
For purses, anyone have tips for keeping the pleather safe from further damage? An IW one I love and use too often is chaffing and peeling really bad where the metal part of the strap rubs against it.
>>
>>9322364
I'm a pretty cheap lolita, my highest was $340 shipped for Le Petit Chaperon Rouge JSK I in green, haven't gotten the cape yet though which I'd be willing to spend up to $100 on. I think there's only 1-3 dresses I'd be willing to spend up to $400 on even if they go for more.

Just curious about other people's practices: when you sell something on LM, at what point do you leave feedback? As soon as you've shipped, once it arrives, after the buyer has left you feedback? I see a lot of people complain about a lack of feedback from buyers, but I've never had that problem and I always wait to leave any feedback until after the buyer has left some for me. I was just wondering if that's different for others.

I have a noob question.
Is it okay to wear a plain tanktop underneath sheer blouses? If not, do you wear anything under them?
>>
>>9322261

It's really only funny after you're a lolita. Before, all that stuff about being selfish, selling replicas to afford real burando, getting blood on burando, etc just seems like stupid stuff to normies.
>>
>>9323500
After buyer leaves feedback, so that you don't leave positive feedback and then 2 days later you get a paypal claim from buyer about never shipping the item
>>
>>9323115

For stuff like this where you already know what dress it is, hit google (Just type something like Angelic Pretty Wonder Queen). The results will pull up lolibrary, but don't click it. Click on the little green arrow right next to the url (under the page title), then click on Cache.

It'll bring up the page that's in google's cache so you can have all the info. Works when lolibrary is down.
>>
>>9323331
My guess is that it'll be another 3 weeks at least.
>>
>>9323455

I'm reposting what I remember other people have discussed on cgl, haven't actually tried any of these (yet):

Hair dryer/heat gun for things like crinkled pleather, it makes them soft so that you can sort of smooth them out again.

If it's small, tiny scratches and you don't really mind, fill them in with a matching nail polish.

If a chunk of the leather is actually missing, you'll need a leather repair kit, like the ones used for upholstery (they're usually used to fix car seats, sofas or the like). They don't really come in pastels, though. I want to suggest Angelus leather paint, but usually it's difficult to colour match a fixed up patch to the original colour, you may end up having to repaint the whole shoe.

Hope that gave you some ideas at least, good luck.
>>
>>9323510

Yes, a plain tank top is ok, although watch out for any funny shapes (eg a second "bib" created by the neckline of your tank top) or your underarm fat spilling out. Best would be a properly fitting skin-coloured tank top with a t-shirt bra under, so that no weird lines are showing.

They're generally more popular under jsks than over skirts, as the ones with looser weave tend to be more comfy than solid cotton blouses in warmer weather.
>>
>>9323500
I leave feedback when a buyer received their item and either confirmed it is alright or some time has apssed since they received it (bc most people message you the moment they have a problem with the item).
I would never leave feedback sooner than that, you never know if they try to screw you over.
>>

>>9322261

>>
Salty but also genuinely curious, why do people with new accounts/no feedback on LM always pay via echeck instead of regular paypal transfer? This has happened to be three times now after invoicing new buyers, it's irritating for me because it takes a week to clear payment, and I'm sure it's irritating for the buyers too, as they have to wait for payment to clear before I ship the item out.
>>
>>9322364

I'm a poorfag student so to me it was a load of money but I still can't believe I have it.

>>
>>9323658
Maybe because they're new to buying online and aren't Paypal savvy? You have to manually add your bank card AND your savings account which I think a lot of people don't realise. It actually happened to me recently, for some reason just the card was on my account after I hadn't used it for awhile.

>>9323644
Why? Or is this just poor bait? You can't be very into the fashion if you never wanted to watch it.
>>
>>9323729
It's not that I don't want to watch it, I just never got around to it is all. And plenty of people are into Lolita who have no interest in Japanese movies at all so I don't think that is a very good indication of a proper Lolita...

Advice for removing fabric stains from a white purse?

Lets be real though, if someone complained about "nappy black girls" wearing something then that "oh no I only meant the nappy ones, not all black girls!!" bullshit wouldn't hold up for one second. Aw. I honestly would love to see the Try Ladies wear proper Lolita coords for a week, especially after seeing it be thrown around as a joke among the try guys at anime expo, I'd like a better representation of it. I would prefer them represent different styles, figure out how to coordinate on their own through the week, and then come up with a really good coord for a meet where they'd talk to other lolitas.

>>
>>9324917
The center one is fine though?
>>
>>9325220
no.
find out your measurements and get a proper fitting minimizer bra.
do not destroy your breast tissue for brand.
you have a variety of options if something doesn't fit even with a minimizer.

lolita isn't easy for the busty, but it is absolutely not impossible.
>>
>>9324799
Nah. She was specifically referring to the cute well dressed girl in that wunderwelt video. She called her crusty simply because she is white.
>>
>>9325220
Anyone willing to give a more helpful response?
>>
I have a friend with a god-tier wardrobe and I really want her to let me film her doing a wardrobe video for January, but she's hesitant because she's afraid of getting shat on because it's so massive. We're talking over 400 dresses/skirts, so I'm pretty sure it would be the biggest lolita wardrobe ever displayed online. Is her fear legitimate or will she probably be fine?
>>
>>9325558
Different anon, but they gave you the most helpful response you will receive. Most seagulls would tell you to just make yourself less fat.
>>
>>9325569
Hm, guess I'll sift through the archive then.
>>
>>9325566
People will bitch and moan about anything, jealous or not, but as long as she doesn't appear to have a hoarding/shopping addiction like that one girl who did a huge wardrobe video did, I think she'll be fine.
>>
>>9325566
People will be jealous, and they'll be shitty about it. I'm afraid I can't offer much consolation, I understand her hesitation about it and if she feels she won't be able to handle the inevitable shit flinging (which will probably be mostly anonymous) it's probably best to not go through with it, but I will say that's a wardrobe video I'd be very interested to see.
Can I ask what style/s she wears? Is her wardrobe generally cohesive? Does she wear the style daily? I'm honestly curious.
>>
>>9325450
It goes for less than 600 now, which is why I said fuck me, so good luck
>>
>>9322364
Something like $900 for the full Masquerade Theater set in red after overseas shipping/fees back when it was one of AatP's most sought after prints. I don't regret it since at the time the red OP alone was going for $650-$750 in the rare event it even appeared and I ended up getting an amazing trade out of it, but it's kind of irritating to see it at like $400-$500 now when it wasn't even rereleased or anything. It's less that I care that I paid so much and more that it annoys me how underrated that print is these days.
>>
>>9325578
Wait, everyone back the fuck up. What cut/colorway are we talking and when did Gloria go down in value? I've been out of the secondhand loop for a while now, so the idea of any version of Gloria besides the red going for under $800 is a completely foreign concept.

>>
>>9325566
I'd only be impressed if it was actually all lolita. The one girl's wardrobe has a ton of JM which isn't even lolita.
>>
>>9325206
Buzzfeed would never put that much effort and money in the video.
It's going to take a large amount of investment money to buy enough for all of them to have good coords for a week, only to not wear them ever again.

At most they would probably buy some cheap shit to try on for a few mins
>>
>>9325576
She mostly wears gothic, classic, hime, and old school. She wears lolita pretty much every day unless she's doing something where it would be a bad idea. Her wardrobe is all over the place in terms of style because she's been a lolita for like 10 years and won't get rid of anything she's super attached to. As a result, she has a lot of "wardrobes within the wardrobe", if that makes any sense. For instance, she has like 30+ OTT sweet dresses from her AP clone phase that she wears every now and then, but mostly keeps for sentimental purposes. Same with pirate and sailor stuff. She organizes it in a way that looks nice, but it kind of feels more like an exhibit of all the different styles and the forms they've taken over the years. That's part of why I want to help her do a wardrobe video so bad, it's like going through a real life lolita archive.

>>9325574
I'm not sure whether or not it would be considered a shopping/hoarding addiction. She has the space and money, so it's not problematic, but she shops all the time and refuses to get rid of anything if there's any sentimental value attached to it at all.
>>
>>9325614
She has a few pieces that aren't technically lolita like the Dream Sky skirt and a tiny bit of JM and ETC, but they are far far far in the minority. I'd be shocked if she had more than 15 pieces like that.
>>
>>9325620
Then just make sure not to talk about selling items then back out of doing so because sentimental value.
>>
>>9325566
Please do it! I would be really interested, obviously some people wont like but I feel as though the type of people who would comment on that kind of videos wouldnt be negative, unless she came on cgl she probably wont she anything hatefull

Has BtSSB been in trouble for opening their mouths again? I read in an RC:U thread some passing comment about how Baby thinks "taobao stores/China doesn't care about lolita fashion".

Did they take a stab at Chinese brands somewhere recently? I already know the story of Chinese lolitas having issue with Sana and that she finally got booted.
>>
>>9325813
I knew they weren't attacking me, I just didn't pick up on what was funny at first. Yeah, now that I reread it, it is amusing.
>>
>>9325934
I'm curious about this as well. If anyone has more info, it'd be nice to have caps if they're available. Honestly, I can't really blame BtSSB for saying that, considering that China loves to pump out counterfeits and there's virtually no qualms about buying them among the Chinese lolitas, other than the rich girls looking down on it due to status. Keep in mind, when I say "Chinese lolitas", I explicitly mean the ones in China, not Chinese girls across the board. It's just that the attitude toward counterfeit goods is very different in that country.

>wardrobes within the wardrobe

Holy. I thought I was the only one trying this. Honestly would really love to see the video just to see how she organises and keeps track of 400 dresses/skirts (currently at like 100+ and already losing track of all the matching accessories/detachables, plus all the different things that can be cross-styled).

Not gonna lie though, put one foot wrong and she/you will probably be bitched at for the silliest things, like not using a $4000 DSLR to shoot an expensive wardrobe, the background not being nice enough/using her bed as the background, wondering how anyone can wear 400 dresses if there's only 52 weekends in a year, etc etc.

I really, really want to see her wardrobe layout though. Good luck with shooting it (if you decide to go ahead).

I'm assuming you are within most brand measurements for waist since you only specified breasts are plus sized?

My two cents is I would only bother with a binder for the purpose of flattening your chest for ouji if that is your preference. As a 32G I have discovered that a chest binder is not going to give you the look you want underneath dresses, they will end up looking empty around the bust as they are meant for someone with some kind of bust curvature which a binder flattens best it can.

Just don't do it it will look like shit.

Is anyone familiar with this storenvy shop? Cats Tea Party in grey for $400 seems to good to be true

https://www.storenvy.com/stores/934106-lolita-closet-cleaning
>>
On lacemarket, if you make an offer lower than the asking price, how do you usually go about it? How much lower than the asking price will go you, and how do you determine what price to offer? Do you approach people who don't have the "make an offer" option enabled? If you're a seller, what will make you consider an offer or reject it?

Personally, if I want to make an offer, I'll put it on my watchlist, see if the auction expires and then send a message. I've had people message me before my first time listing an item expires and I was kind of put off by that. I wanted to see if someone would pay my asking price before I took an offer. Am I being too passive with my offers/petty with accepting them?
>>
>>9326503
I've been approached before auctions end by people wanting like $75-$100 off and free shipping... That to me is very off putting and I generally won't even respond. Offers I generally accept are requests for free shipping (domestic) and I depending on the item I might be willing to take up to $25 off
>>
>>9322972
I have to agree with this though, while it's perfectly ok to make ero lolita videos, using such themed material to promote a shop selling clothings of a style with an unfortunately controversial name, it's not the best connection for anyone to make. Keep the erotic hints to somewhere where only actual lolita would see, imo would be mich better.
>>
>>9326501
well it looks like someones just brought so I guess you can find out soon. Honestly the difference between the proof photos and the super low prices cleary make it a scam
>>
>>9326503
>>9326510

Adding to this, if I'm pricing something quite low already (like $30 with shipping) and it's not something shitty like a To Alice piece, I find it pretty offputting to have an offer of let's say $25 with free shipping, as shipping is usually 7-10 for me.
>>
>>9326467
Good to see Qi and Wa designs from Japanese brands so other indies have the "permission" to experiment. I feel like lolita, especially sweet, has been nice but too cookie cutter formula before the OTT Classic Sweet era began. I'd love to see more people incorporate different elements into a dress design.
>>
>>9326554

I meant $30, plus shipping. If they ask if shipping will be included, I can consider it.

Sometimes I will counter offer, but rarely will I get a response from that.
>>
>>9326503
I just offer what I offer and almost always the seller will accept or there will be some very minimal back and forth. I have no qualms lowballing and then working my way up, it's a site for secondhand clothes, I enjoy haggling. I will definitely make an offer even if the make an offer option is not enabled, but I don't lowball on those offers. There have only been a handful of cases where I've not tried to get a lower price than what was already listed or at least tried to get free shipping.

For the record I typically only lowball real hard on items that are already marked up a lot compared to the same items in similar condition on the secondhand markets.
>>
>>9326308

>>
>>9328872
That's the first time I hear someone call him a crap SS anon, I don't know where you heard this info?
Or did you have a bad experience with him yourself?

I personally never had any problems with Martin, bought from him several times without any problems at all.
When I want to join reservations he is always very quick to respond and was able to get my dresses on all the occasions.
He sometimes works out more expensive than other SS but he is very good with reservations.
When I ordered in stock stuff, he shipped very quickly and it arrived very quickly.
I never need to pay customs fees (eurofag) on clobba orders either.
One time I had joined a (made to order) shoes group order which took really long (over a year) but he was very apologetic and it wasn't his fault the factory took forever to make them.
He even offered me a full refund but I decided to wait for the shoes.
And that worked out really well in the end.

The only bad thing I did once read (on RC) was that a girl (her name is Cadence I think, it's a long time ago but I have good memory) asked for sizing advice on a Krad dress, so Clobba passed that message on to Krad and they gave Clobba the advice, he passed that on to the girl.
She then ordered the dress.
When it arrived it was too small.
Turns out they recommended the wrong size and when she told him it didn't fit, he contacted Krad about it to ask why they recommended the wrong size.
Krad's answer was pretty much a suggestion that it was the girls own fault, she measured wrong and that she should lose weight.
She was pretty angry with Martin/Clobba in the end.
Not sure what happened after that, I don't know if she was allowed to send the dress back and I don't know if she ever got a refund.
Thant's all I know, the only negative thing I ever heard about Clobba.

Frances was dead for years, and then suddenly because some gull mentioned her name months ago for being le ebin troll 'she' is suddenly back to posting again. It's just some anon trying to make their troll happen.

You're the type to out yourself in a thread and then complain when people shit on you. Lurk more.

>>9329290
Actually someone inserted me so I thought I would peep up to confirm that I was not the person at hand. Note taken o;

bye felicia

I was wondering about that too. If yes, sad to know, it was a good second-hand shop once.
>>
>>9328135
Maybe don't wear chiffon or anything that snags easily if you plan on playing with the cats or trying to lure one into your lap. Other than that, you should be fine.
>>
>>9328135
The cats don't tend to climb on you or anything, unless you want them to, they just wander around and you can pet them. All I'd say in recommendation is short sleeves since your hands will be main point of contact with the cats. It really depends where you are though. Some places don't let you pick up the cats, but some encourage it. Also don't have dangly wrist wear.

Not that anon, but Clobba was hit or miss way back in like the late 2000's until they drastically improved their business. My guess is anon is an oldfag that just hasn't kept up with the times at all.

>oldfag that just hasn't kept up with the times at all.

Pretty much, thanks senpai ily
>>
>>9328159
God-tier taste, anon. Glad to see there's still people who love it as much as I do. I got the black OP after I parted with the red one, but now I also want to get the red skirt at some point because I miss having it in that color.
>>
>>9329603
MT is one of the few prints I like, but then again, as a near life-long Phantom Phan it holds a very soft spot in my heart. It's also from the pinnacle of when AatP were at their best imo. I have the jsk in black, would love it in navy some day.
>>
>>9329694
>>9329603
My people. The red JSK has been my dream dress for ages. I've a burning need some days, but I've all but given up on that colorway.

And firmly seconding 2010 being the best of aatp, I've almost completely stopped looking for prints but damn if those older ones don't get me going.
>>
>>9322364
$330 for AP's Sugar Hearts JSK in white with the matching bag. It would've been cheaper but my post office fucked up and it was returned to the seller so I had to pay shipping again

Le Petit Chaperon Rouge varies wildly depending on the colorway and item. There's a white JSK/cape set up on Closet Child that has been there for ages and is pretty cheap. Red is most popular for sure though.

>>9328137
I found it on Y!J Auctions as part of a set with the skirt in red. I bought it and sold the skirt. No ragrets.
>>
>>9325990
My bf liked it too, he's into gangster movies so he liked the yanki sub-plot.

The collar is removable, anon. What colorway do you want?

Does anyone know when the made-to-order Chocolate Rosette comes out? I ordered the skirt in the Laforet store in September but the form doesn't say when it's released.
>>
>>9330374
It should say on the bottom part, at the top of the conditions you agreed to when you reserved
>>
>>9330374
It's supposed to be ready mid-March
>>
>>9330174
Yup, I think OP did
>>
>>9330326
It is not???
>>
>>9324077
I love JM but I could never pay more for a dress that's less spectacular than an AP dress. Their quality isn't on par either, but they're still double the cost.
>>
>>9329972
Yes they did, go back up.
>>
>>9330374
I remember march as well, but a friend already got theirs. She reserved in Japan with a SS
>>
>>9330476
The Tokyo store (Laforet branch iirc) did a MTO first to be released earlier, then they opened it up to all the other stores. I live in Japan, but ordered through a different store, and my confirmation says middle of March.
>>
>>9330374
>>9330502
Just reread the op and saw they reserved at Laforet.
Pretty sure the first (exclusive) MTO was in August, so if you ordered in September it will be ready in March.

Sage for double post.
>>
>>9330505
...I should probably be looking up details to confirm BEFORE posting, sorry.
The exclusive MTO was earlier in September (10-15), released this month.
So op, it depends on when you ordered.
>>
>>9330456
Different anon, but I get far more wear from my JM so for me it's worth it.
>>
>>9330513
I understand, but I still can't get quite over it. But I only buy JM second-hand which seems more reasonable to me.
>>
>>9330535
I mainly buy second hand as well. The deals can be quite good and people seem to really look after their stuff.
>>
>>9330537
>>9330535

What's the fit on JM dresses like anons? I've been tempted to buy a few pieces for more casual wear. Their cuts don't seem to have a lot of the stretch in the bust which worries me a bit (my measurement is 34'').
>>
>>9330556
You'll be fine. My bust is the same and some of their dresses are too big on me.
>>
>>9330560
Different anon, but do you think a 34inch could fit in?

Thanks in advance
>>
>>9330610
I meant 36.....
>>
>>9330326
I like the bitter version. And uh, I owned it at one point, the collar is not removable, otherwise I wouldn't have sold it.

>still sorta regret selling it though

>>9330456
I totally get where you're coming from - for most of their other prints, I would definitely stick to secondhand. I got those because anything related to books JM makes seems to have prices close to retail even on the secondhand market.

And yeah, I get a lot more wear from those dresses than most of my actual lolita dresses.

>>9330610
It'll depend on the dress and where the widest point of your bust/ribcage is. One of the older violin dresses has a bust of 82cm with no shirring and I was able to fit into it when my bust was around 83cm at the time.
>>
>>9330714
Don't talk to her online and basically give her the cold shoulder.
>>
>>9324686
I owned some replicas in the past and they never had any tags, so it might be real
>>
>>9326923
I'm probably unnecessarily concerned that I might be your seller because I recently sent a dress out that was delivered around the time you posted and have yet to receive any feedback for it and am afraid something might have been wrong (though I don't think this was me because I definitely ran the dress through the wash before sending it, but who knows). I definitely second the advice to contact the seller about it directly and try to work it out, if you haven't already done so. If you're worried about being a dick, keep it brief and say the item came with an unpleasant odor and you'd like to be reimbursed the cost of dry cleaning. It might be helpful to have a dollar amount from a local dry cleaner, too.
>>
At what point after a buyer has received their item do you prod them for feedback? Any advice on how to do so politely?
>>
>>9322364
280, 300 after shipping. Leif's Basillica aa Night OP in black. Still one of my favorite purchases.
>>
>>9330799
I'd say wait about a day or two after the item arrived, then message them to ask if it did arrive, and politely ask them to leave feedback for you if everything is okay so that you can return the favor.

Question. Are Baby's lace-topped OTKS stretchier than their print/patterned ones? I need plain lace-topped OTKS but my legs are too chubby for their usual printed socks right now so want to know if these go larger.
>>
>>9331376
I second this question
>>
>>9331376
The lace topped cuff will only stretch so far. I'm not sure how large your legs are but honestly it might not be a good option because of that. Also the gathering of the lace is made with the elastic so even if they do fit it might be obvious that your legs are on the large side. Not sure if that's an issue for you.

Trying to buy a dress off of mbok using From Japan for the first time with my card. I knew about their policy requiring an authorization number and thought nbd but my bank/card company won't give it to me. At this point, I'm tired of dealing with my card company's call center and am ready to jump ship back to japonica or something. I'd rather not be banned for not being able verify I'm the card holder though. Any gulls have experience with this?
