all i know of are random dance meets that happen at Otakon/Katsucon/etc. Usually groups like Dansu to Pantsu or love live groups.

I was in the same position; I ended up actually posting in my local anime con's Facebook group seeing if anyone in the area wanted to meet up and learn some dances. We got along really well and ended up forming a group, so maybe just see if there are total strangers out there looking for the same thing you are!

You have two options.

Go alone and you won't have to worry about flakes but not have a group

Post about it online via fb/cosplay forum whatever and get people. Deal with the massive stream of flaky people but hey, you have a group.
