The former comes out of a lot of people in a lot of the wrong ways, while the latter comes out of the people who want to make things work.

Context is indeed important. When someone asks how they look or enter a contest where the point is to be judged then most criticism is acceptable outside of pointing out the physical flaws of the cosplayer.

Recently a lot of people at cons has seen this poor behavior on social media and somehow think that this behavior is acceptable in real life. At the last two cons I have literally had people walk up to me or one of my friends and tell us why our costumes were bad. Both times the guy was a 300 lb neckbeard with no costume and the criticism didn't have to do with construction and wasn't constructive at all. When people make stupid comments online about why they can't criticize people's costumes, they sound like these idiots to me.

I don't have a problem with these threads. Just remember to keep your 4chan behavior on 4chan.

Surely you understand that a chiseled sharp jaw is a manly trait? There are male traits that can present in women based on genetics and hormone levels in the womb, and things like a strong brow ridge and strong jaw are masculine. They can even identify skeletons as male or female based in bone structure.
"Good bone structure" is sort of meaningless in this case.
She's definitely pretty, but no one could call her jaw "feminine" and be correct.
