I like her coord but damn gurl that's an unflattering angle
her face shape is really uncommon. it's interesting. I think she could rock a shorter bob haircut.
I don't normally like shoes like these, because they look like fancy bed slippers you wear with lingerie. they work in this coord though
am I the only one who thinks that she looks like she shat herself?
Sadly my chin really is this ugly and long irl. I'm pretty self-conscious about it and I'm saving up to get surgery. It looks bad at every angle lmao
Thanks for saying it's interesting haha... Today a classmate actually came up to me, petted my chin, and asked if it was real. Apparently people get surgery for a longer/sharper chin?? I can't believe it..
I like to think I have Pixyteri's chin tyvm :^)
regardless of chin, your coord is really cute- love it! i hope you get the surgery though if you want it, i feel the same way about my nose (wide and flat, thanks filipino genes) and want to get surgery too.
The only sad thing about the picture is as a still image it can't convey how bubbly and cute your personality is irl. Don't mean to sound creepy, but I noticed you at the event first for your really positive attitude towards everyone and then for having such a lovely coord.
actually, even easier than attacking your bones, you may just be able to get your cheeks worked on. cheek apple implants or other fillers by your jaw line would be minimal procedures but still transformative, while working with your current structure.
your face is pretty cute anon. your chin makes you look different but not at all ugly. only get surgery if you feel like you need it to be happy.
if you change too much you run the risk of looking great in pics but horrifying in motion (kim k and Park Bom no longer have human faces for example).
sage for ot, sorry
Your coord is really nice! I hope that one day you can be less elf-conscious about your chin. You seem like a very nice person. Also ngl, I love your glasses and wish I could pull something like those off.
I think this isn't lolita, but still cute. Normally this type of outfit would make me angry, it feels cohesive and fine fir casual, non lolita wear. My complaints as her lip color and that bag because it looks like it doesn't match
is she ashamed of her shoes or something? that awkward floral sticker
whoa. this is a pretty cool ouji remix. I do think the headdress is too large for the coord. maybe a grand shiro coat with gold epaulets and shoulder padding could balance this out.
the veil should probably go and the brooches need re-arranging. really cool experiment though. props!!
step on me Connie <3
she looks amazing in both lolita and ouji, and i can still remember when she was basic tier. the short amount of time she's climbed into looking freaking amazing is wonderous.
Thanks! Good luck to us.
Aw thank you! Feel free to add me/send me a message if you want!
I feel like I already have a lot of flesh on my face and not enough down near my chin, so working on cheeks would make it worse? Especially cuz I also have minimal lips. argh! But thanks for the suggestions! I never even thought about other options.
Thanks, I'm sure you look cute with your current frames too
Sorry bro, good luck
Thanks for the suggestions, I am a beginner at makeup and was doing what I know, but I am trying to improve. I also had my hair curled, but they fell out by the time this picture was taken at the end of the day
Hahaha, I actually bought a wig specifically for this coord, but I couldn't manage to fit the hair above my ears underneath it, got frustrated, and just decided to go natural. I'm so sad
Are you new? Oldschool is more than just a substyle, it refers specifically to the look that was popular from the late 90s to mid 00s. If elements didn't exist in lolita back then, they're not oldschool, even though they can be oldschool-inspired. There's no need for oldschool to "evolve" or survive because it is supposed to be a time capsule of coords from this period.
You might be thinking of what Japanese brands and Misako have called "traditional lolita style", which involves solid pieces with white lace, but often features newer styles of shoes, bags, hairstyling, make-up and accessories that weren't available back then.
>There's no need for oldschool to "evolve" or survive because it is supposed to be a time capsule of coords from this period.
More accurately, oldschool already *has* evolved into modern lolita. You can play with the style, but it's like the difference between incorporating a vintage piece into a normal outfit and wearing period-accurate clothing head to toe.
Plus size done right! This dress silhouette looks really nice on her body, but I think it's specific to her body, you know, as opposed to other plus-sized women, so don't get any ideas.
For some reason this made me smile and cheered me up a bit, so thank you Anon. I do have full eyebrows, but the hairs on the inner and outer edges are seriously light so I tend to look like I only have small brows in the middle.
Filling them in... I'm not too good at it. No matter what I do it always seems to look weird and wrong, maybe because I mostly only do it for cosplay or because I'm so used to not having visible brows in the first place, so I tend to try avoiding doing it,
Do you pluck your brows? I used to have the same issue - very fine and light natural brows that had a decent shape left natural, but looked weird when filled in because they hadn't been shaped. If you shape your brows they will look better filled in. Also try using taupe eyeshadow or something instead of an eyebrow pencil.
the levels editing is a little nuts here but I really like this. a teensy red bowclip in the hair or on the muffs would make it perfect.
??? why are you so weird? clearly the take away message from your reply was know your body and wear what fits. that's exactly the idea plus-sized women should be encouraged with. there are a lot of larger lolitas who get it right. every ita you see just confirms your bias.
I'm not digging the color of the shoes but damn she's adorable here .
no, I meant the contrast. the fabric texture, particularly in the skirt, is practically gone. it just appears to me that contrast and saturation have been bumped way up. it hurts to look at for too long but I do like the coord
I barely recognized her. It's simple, but it's cute kinda simple, before she was a simple trainwreck. I'd call this a sucess story.
Her boobloaf looks 1000% times better then when she squished them to death in the begining. I think that's a proper fitted bra now, she just has huge boobs.
Thank-you! Please feel free to message me on etsy if you would like me to make something that I don't have listed. I love custom orders. Also in regards to jsks it takes so long to photograph them properly compared to accessories and not selling as well I've gotten kinda lax about posting new designs Mia culpa.
Thank you! I prefer taking photos outside as it almost always gives you better light and a nice backdrop, difficult in winter though haha. I will be doing another preorder for the tights after Christmas. I was going to do it earlier but I figured it would be easier on my customers after the holidays.
>posing your coord when you "don't have a choice" but to make a bad style decision
i agree that this argument is beaten to death but that's a really bad point anon
like an ita posting milanoo because she doesn't have a choice but to wear $15 dresses. just wait until you get some long socks if that's the issue.
you can't even compare those two situations. milanoo is ALWAYS a no because it always looks shitty, but ankle socks can work for lolita. the long sleeves&short socks thing is definitely a matter of personal taste. no rules have been broken and it's not a bad coord
to clarify, I'm not her and this is only my 2nd contribution to this argument. i needed to chime in because I feel like a nice coord is being torn apart for a dumb reason. I'm a fan of antique dolls and I'm used to seeing some of them styled in this way (long lacy sleeves and frilly ankle socks).
i feel bad now because if I hadn't lost it at that dumbass comparison (looking at you>>9290403!!) none of y'all would be assuming she's in this mess defending herself. apparently anyone thinking it looks nice has to be the girl pictured.
p.s. that jpg is some oc I made specifically for this argument...so yw.
my nitpick: I'd prefer if she wore some sheer hosiery in conjunction with the ankle socks because I think bare legs outside of country is a little tartish, but that's just my mileage.
recognize your own mileage and stop trying to parade your nitpick as common sentiment.
I also don't like the look of ankle socks with long sleeves, but I own this OP in black and it's made of a very thin, lightweight fabric, which I think makes ankle socks more excusable in this case, as opposed to wearing a long sleeved velvet OP or something.
Either way I don't like the shoes, and the coord could stand to be dressed up a bit with jewelry and an appropriate bag.
It has to do with the balance of the coord. Coords with long sleeves and ankle socks tend to look too top heavy and it also doesn't make a lot of sense temperature-wise. (Like wearing opaque tights and going blouseless) I think the white part of the sleeves in this coord lighten the top a little up so it's not that bad. If you picture the coord with full length wine velvet sleeves it would look even less balanced. I've seen way worse examples of that combination desu
Huge nitpick ofc but I guess it triggers some gulls
Girl's got wigs. I wish she'd worn one for this look.
This outfit shot isn't about the coord at all, more like look at my face, hair and background. As a coord there's nothing to it, not even jewelry, just a print matched with black. I'm a fan of casual looks but this one is overshadowed by everything else in the photo that doesn't match.
I really love this. It reminds me of Little House on the Prairie or something.
Yep that's totally me. I'm not some rando stranger at all.
>You realize every cof thread is just insults right? There's no reason to care.
Meanwhile in other threads people are trying desperately to say that these threads serve the purpose of getting "real honest crit".
This bag comes in a gold color and she got silver and then paired it with gold anyway.
This could've been nice... that fucking hair and that fucking make up.
too much going on colorwise.
They look sewn on, like I can see thread in the holes. But still, the over all fabric choice is boring and simplistic for something like that. If that was on velveteen, it'd look amazing.
someone needs to learn the rules of CoF
those shoes are damned ugly and they do detract a lot from the coord
The lacing on the dress look unflattering on her but fine I'll give the dress a pass. But the tights look too busy with the dress and the shoes are plain old fugly ballerina flats. If you think this looks alright then you're as ita as she is.
Oh, every time.
>Such a shame that cute outfit is slathered in a shitty attitude.
>I didn't ask for con crit
Well your attitude needs it so shit the fuck up and be grateful someone didn't shower your ungrateful noodle with asspats that get you no where and tried to offer you help to better your outfit for next time. I bet your seams look like shite.
This coord is so underwhelming, like a super cheap version of the fashion show coord. It's like she tried with the hair and decided to give up on everything else. The tights and shoes are way too casual for the top half, and she should've added sleeves, gloves, a shawl or something because her arms look so bare. The lace choker looks really cheap for this dress too.
Not a single thing in this coord goes with anything else. How can you be this bad at coording
Seriously, like what kind of ego do you have to have to leave a community, because someone tried to HELP you? Like her coord looked quite good EXCEPT for the shoes. It seems like she put a ton of thought into most of her coord, but when it came to the shoes, she went to her grandma's closet and figured the cheap ass walmart shoes would do justice. Like you can't just have something 90% completed and throw a fit when someone calls you out on it.
I was going to say, well at least she colour matched the shoes and jacket with that one bow on the dress but after looking a little longer they dont seem to match. This whole coord is just a mess
Isn't that "Two piece" actually a one piece dress from AP? The rest of her coord is her wearing black and white. Bag choice is probably a bit off but it doesn't look bad.
That's a great way to wear those bulky Meta skirt prints, good work. Agree with the other anon on the strange ribbon though. Needs more bolder bow like structure to go with the bold stripes and print.
That is a real nice bathroom
Yep, erry time.
I think her face is well suited for gothic
I think they look fine when it's slightly longer. But then again Sachi can pull off anything.
She needs to relearn how to do her makeup (dramatic winged eyeliner but she doesn't bother to fill in her brows better or make the rest of her face more bold? FOH) and she should add some wrist wear. This seems more like a "look at my hair and new AatP dress" post.
>Sorry for your poor taste.
No, I just try not to be stupidly harsh JUST because I'm anon. It's boring. She has potential.
From the looks of this post, a bunch of normies got talked into wearing lolita.
Same here. I did not care for this dress at all until I saw it like this. Didn't even know it was a special set because I paid zero attention to the release of this print or anything related to it thinking it was boring. Dead wrong there..
This reminded me of something other than 'I'm secretly a flasher'
While the comment was a little rude, she escalated it way too quick. The best thing to do is ignore, or put reasoning behind your shoe choice. Ask the other person what they think might have looked better.
Thought it was a Naruto cosplay from the thumbnail
Aw. Iktf. I'm trying to save up for TMD corrective surgery as well. I wish insurance claims didn't categorize this under cosmetic surgery.
My suggestion is to do away with the big round glasses and play up your eye makeup to draw attention away from your jawline. The glasses are really weighing your face. I found that some contouring helps soften my jawline.
I think that the gloves cheapen the coord. Perhaps next time replace them with rings and bracelets?
I want to know how she got her dream holic to look this nice.
>that's a lot of crap even for OTT
....I'll admit, I was disappointed to see what this was replying to. When I think OTT, I think gothic lolita with actual taxidermy animals or sweet lolita with a working gumball machine tucked into the wig.
This won best dressed, like what the fuck? So many other girls did a way better job. So many people were fawning over her wig and saying she matched colors perfectly, which she didn't.
Of all coords to be salty over in this thread....
>points out shes holding a candle that mimics the candles on the print.
