You don't think about how you look, the joy you feel, the friends, everything in that moment is perfect. You see yourself in the hotel mirror and not detecting a flaw, you wanna have fun. Then, you see the photos, oh god, the photos, even professionally edited. The cringe that comes later, not even wanting to see the photos and just seeing mistakes.
I used (use) to do really bad cosplay, I once made a cosplay so bad that the only thing I got right was the color of the wig, not even the wig style. The only thing is, how they manage to never get better.

So I used to be friends with the two girls in the picture. The one on the left is okay but a doormat and ended up with the girl on the right who's "gender fluid" (which means she decides if she wants to wear guys clothes or girls clothes rather than feeling an actual shift in gender lmfao) and gave herself the name "Alpha" which is utterly retarded.

While I agree with you, just like not every fat chick is shoveling food in her face every five seconds (if someone's metabolism is fucked up enough thy can eat healthy and exercise and still have trouble losing weight until it stablizes for instance), not every person who looks anorexic is unhealthy or has an unhealthy lifestyle.

My brother's girlfriend for instance was smaller than a 00. She could legitimately wear children's clothes (They'd be short on her because she was tall but i dared her to try on some clothes from the kids section once, a girl in her 20s, and she fit and looked kind of cute in some of them). She was TINY.

The thing is, the left one is a furry but Alpha actually is not. Found this one while looking for images of Pyramid Head :P. I can't help but laugh and feel bad for the little girl in this one. The disappointment in her face is so out there, it actually looks as if she was about to start crying. The body paint is bad and you can see all the spots where its rubbing away and the spots it didn't cover. The turban and the cape are literally a bath towel and a bed sheet. They even styled pieces of her hair to look like Piccolo's ears. And whatever those pink spots are on his arms they literally made them out of pink bars of soap with strings wrapped around them.

I half want to be a cosplay mom (I've been around 18 years soooo) and take really bad cosplayers off the floor, give them a robe to cover up in, take their costumes and fix them as best I can on the fly, iron them, and then send them on their way.

I don't know, I feel like beginners are going to make really bad mistakes and they just have to learn from them. My first cosplay was shitty, my friends didn't think it was bad because we were all starting out and all fairly mediocre. I, of course, learned from my mistakes and started watching tutorials from more skilled cosplayers. Giving critique can help but more often than not it just comes across as being an asshole and there will always be the ones to jump up and say "stop shaming them!" or "don't listen, you look great!". People aren't going to listen if you approach them incorrectly and they definitely aren't going to want to take advice from you.
