Because she was never used in marketing campaigns the same way other video game girls were. A lot of the "just doing it for attention" cosplays don't really purchase or view the source material beyond screen shots of the costume they are making, so if the character isn't prominently featured in a lot of media, they won't know the character exists.

And there is the problem. Attention cosplayers don't have knowledge of the games they play. The see ads, posters, trailers and figures for games, and cosplay based on those. Quiet was barely featured in anything outside of the game, so people would have to actually play the game in order to know she exists, unlike Eva, Boss, or Sniper Wolf.

Before the game came out, Tracer was fucking everywhere, and attention whores flocked to her. Since the game has been out for a while, and other characters have been given proper merchandising and better promotional material, the others have been cosplayed more.

Quiet's design is terrible.

For starters, no underwear designed that way would stay in that position without getting sucked into the crack. It's silly. She should just be wearing a thong! I also agree the one long glove is also silly. It would look better with two short gloves. The pantyhose is pretty stupid as well. Pantyhose would get uncomfortable real quick, constantly be pulling that shit up. Socks or skin tight pants would make more sense.

Thing is everyone assumes that clothes don't breathe. There is a reason people back in the day could do all that wool and survive. The weaves used were quite loose and allow air to pass. With a cotton/linen underlayer you get a good cooling sweat going.

Given the look and the Afghan setting, those are manageable. There's more than enough exposed surface area for breathing. Kojima had a lame excuse for what we got, no other way to cut that. But, I'd imagine you don't need every square inch of your body exposed for Kojima suprah-science.

Well, I think the Quiet Sniper Wolf Skin is a more challenging costume in terms of Detail. Simply because Quiet's Costume is newer, there's more Detail on it, which is more fun to work on. The other reason was: I went as Venom and my girlfriend wanted a matching cos, but felt uncomfortable with Quiet's regular Outfit after a few cons, which is why we made that one.
