So... What happened to the whole /fa/ x /cgl/ thing? It was cool and spawned some good artwork.
Can we just have a comfy thread about the subject and post more art?
>>9263320
... Ignoring the current winter ball pairing of course.
dumping artwork
my fav art desu
What's the most expensive /cgl/ brand?
Surely there's some super lux brand out there yea?
>>9263351
Probably BTSSB when it comes to their reserve dresses, they are always $1000+.
>>9263358
If you look at the average resell price it's AP, most baby doesn't hold as high of a resell price.
>>9263351
VM, MM and MMM tend to be quite expensive, even secondhand.
>>9263351
Juliet et Justine
If we are talking quality/amount of material purchased from the official retailer.
>>9263372
There's one dress in particular that was modeled after a manga that would probably sell for around that price if it ever appears on the market.
>>9263372
>$16k
I don't think lolita gets close to that, no. If that's about your budget then buying even the most coveted piece shouldn't be a problem at all.
>>9263320
/fa/ pls. We're going with /u/ this year. Stop shitposting and enjoy crossboarding with /mu/.
/fa/ x /cgl/ is my otp.
I think the art was way more funny and cute last year compared to this year so far
>>9263375
>The kuragehime dress wouldn't sell for that
I would seriously buy it for $20k, probably even $25k
All of this art needs to be updated with /fa/ wearing Rick, desu.
>>9263372
Nope. The BTSSB wedding dresses can get a bit closer at about $2k+
occasionally someone will try to sell a rare dress for 1-2k
Uchuu-kei probably the most expensive if we're talking designer. Particularly with the funky jackets.
foureyes clothing is cgl x fa
There's no need to fight or come off as you are OP.
All you have to do is wait til next year instead of what you're trying.
>>9263390
I completely understand why you'd think that.
>>9263391
Explain.
>>9263398
>>9263414
>>9263411
Why the fuck is this turning into a discussion about dating people from 4chan???
>>9263405
That looks lame af, desu.
>>9263351
Swankiss is fairly expensive considering what is being paid for. The same goes for Jesus Diamante. I don't know if Liz Lisa is still pricey. They use to be pricey back when they did the heavy hime-gyaru stuff. People already covered Lolita. Outside special releases, there's also the occasional coveted dress that goes on sale secondhand.
As far as super high end? Well, the issue is in the world of Japan high fashion, it closely mirrors our own high fashion. You'll find Prada, Gucci, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Calvin Klein, and all the same brands if you shop for luxury products in Japan.
Now, what's offered over in a Louis Vuitton store in Japan will differ from Louis Vuitton in New York. It may cater more to the Japanese consumer's taste. If a gyaru, for example, wants high end... they may very well just go shop at a Gucci store.
>>9263388
Got any photos of those wedding dresses or anything from Uchuu-kei?
What warrants their high prices? Is it basically the same rules for designer markup, i.e. quality and name, but mostly name?
>>9263351
Jane marple in terms of details vs price. A fairly plain dress can run you 500-600. Lolita brands use a lot more fabric so the prices aren't really that high.
>>9263427
pic related is a dress from 2 or 3 years ago that sold for roughly $1.2k retail and I think is currently somewhere around $2k for secondhand (I don't want it so I don't know the current selling price).
it's not one of the wedding dresses, but it's around the same price range and has a similar design.
BTSSB's wedding dresses generally have a lot of material and details, whether it's construction or decorative. There can be some markup if it's a popular style/color that sold out or is an old dress that is no longer being made that suddenly became popular. I generally find that name has less to do with how much dresses go for secondhand, it's more about rarity and current trends (e.g. Sugary Carnival was really popular when OTT sweet was popular, but now goes for fairly cheap because OTT sweet has died down).
>>9263381
>Fuck /mu/.
>/fa/ x /cgl/ forever. It's the perfect couple.
This >>9263392
It's not our fault that you're not having fun with /mu/, so don't ruin our winter ball with /u/. They are nice and passive aggressively shit talking them won't change that. You could have posted this thread literally every other month this year.
>>9263431
Okay, so it's generally just demands that determines additional markup for these, it seems. Looking at that dress, I can say it does look like an item that would retail for a lot (which is good, I was hoping it didn't look cheap).
>>9263433
Noose around neck and pull really tight, please.
>>9263434
>>9263437
Can y'all get a fucking room or something?
>>9263443
>thinking this is bad
your /cgl/ newfaggery is showing
>>9263378
that is because more artists participated, not anything to do with the pairing.
/fit/ has great New Year's comics because it has an awesome drawfag but that does not make it a better board either
>>9263424
I see. So no jfashion brands really get into the prices ranges of designer lines. I was kinda just curious to see if jfashion had parallels to the expensive brands discussed frequently on /fa/.
>>9263450
The expensive brands discussed on /fa/ are the expensive brands of Japan.
The major Western fashion houses hold worldwide dominance in the luxury market.
Moschino is an example of a popular luxury brand among those into colorful street fashion.
A gyaru or hostess might love Gucci and Louis Vuitton.
And so on and so forth...
>>9263372
nothing on the egl side but cosplay commissions can get up their EASILY, especially if buying from some of the top artisans.
>>9263468
Moschino is the big one. Vivienne Westwood and Kate Spade are less expensive, but still kind of up there. I'm also going to add Dolce and Gabbana to the list of expensive and eccentric brands.
>>9263480
Oh my, how did I forget Vivienne Westwood...
She is super popular.
And tentatively I'm going to add Yves Saint Laurent and Louboutin to that list. They tend to be popular on a global scale. Especially Louboutin.
>>9263484
Any photos of items from this designer?
>>9263497
I just pulled one from google. I'm sure /fa/ could supply better pictures.
She's fairly involved with alt fashion, but has plenty of designs that would suit even the classiest of people.
>>9263497
She also makes an assortment of really cool, eccentric rings that I'm sure a lot of jfash appreciates.
>>9263511
Damn that looks nice, I wish ring fashion was more popular.
>>9263511
Oh man, that's sick.
>>9263511
middle one looks like edgy garbage I'd expect some retard who sits at his computer playing WOW 24/7 to own but not wear because his fingers are too fat
>>9263517
Yeah it really adds another level to whatever you're wearing. I'm a big fan of Parts of 4, Werkstatt Munchen and Chrome Hearts too. Ann Demeulemeester also has some nice accessories!
>>9263520
kek where do you think you are? If you can't handle a little extravagance you should get a hobby that isn't Fashion/Cosplay/EGL
>tfw can't have comfy threads on /cgl/
>>9263562
Post pictures of /cgl/ and /fa/ then.
>>9263522
What about Anna Sui?
>>9263646
Anna Sui is pretty popular in Japan, she's got makeup counters everywhere. She has a younger line called Dolly Girl or something here.
>>9263646
I have one of her skirts. I really like it.
>>9263320
Unsure as to why the link to the cgl X fa chat keeps getting deleted- it's very much on topic and shitposting is contained by chat mods.

>>9263676
Ever think there's a reason why it keeps getting deleted?
>>9263591
once upon a time cgl wasn't as retarded as it is now
everyone in this thread from our side should kill themselves for responding to troll
>>9263676
I'm into the idea but I'm a tinfoil who hates discord, couldn't this be on somewhere else?
>>9263351
4 o clock is $500 at the cheapest and most basic
not really burando but couture
>>9263497
...you mean Vivienne Westwood designer of the rocking horse shoe? I hope no /cgl/ regular is that dumb.
>>9263831
I wouldn't be surprised newer people don't know things like this anymore. The original shoes were first shown ages ago, and there have been so many knockoffs that people don't stop to think where they came from anymore (or just don't care).
>>9263350
slav life
really cgl? not knowing who vivienne westwood is?
her fashion was crucial in the making of lolita back in the 90's. i would even argue she's still important to the fashion. but whatever
>>9263707
we had a LINE group but it died out.
>>9263433
>implying our winter ball wasn't ruined as soon as /u/ was picked
>>9263892
I am not a regular on this board, nor am I into lolita. Hence me asking who they were.
>>9263381
>/fa/ x /cgl/ forever. It's the perfect couple.
You do realize they're brother and sister, right?
>>9263938
Her roots are in punk fashion, but she's famous in mainstream fashion, too, nowadays. One of her wedding dresses was used in fucking Sex and the City, man.
>>9263945
And?
>>9263954
I'd rather the pure yuri of CGL and U.
Besides everyone knows /fa/ will only have sex with /fit/.
>>9263945
heck yes. the purest form of love
>>9263937
Agreed.
>>9263824
does 4 o'clock still exist?
>>9263937
so make fa x cgl content. nothing is stopping you. it does not have to be winterball-themed.
>>9264014
It's just called the designers name now, Linda Friesen
>>9264018
Bitterness is stopping them. They want the spot light.
>>9263391
Nice self post.

>>9264858
I always wondered what /fa/ thinks of this
>>9264864
>>9264865
And with that I am done.
>>9264861
Last I heard, /fa/ tolerates it but as you can tell, they're not that invested in it outside getting art since they didn't bother to get in gear for the Winter Ball.
Anon mentioned this in the other topic but maybe we can compromise with those who want more /fa/ stuff?
>We're taking /u/ to the Winter Ball because /fa/ didn't bother asking us
>We voted and 3/4 of voters want to confess to /u/
>HOWEVER
>We can still take big brother /fa/ to the next event
>Extra Idea
>If our confession to /u/ goes well, we want /fa/ to be happy as well so next event, double date with /fa/ and /fit/? Because they need all the help they can get.
If need be, we can even dress /fit/ to be more attractive to /fa/ and we'll all enjoy that.
>>9264859
You know, I always wondered why /fa/ doesn't crossdress. Isn't that transcending the realm of commoner fashion to the greatest heights of true fashion if you can wear the clothing of both genders?
Wouldn't /fa/ and /cgl/ spend Christmas together? Why can't we make a little inter-board family get together for that instead of lamenting over the Winter Ball?
Anyone friendly enough with /fa/ to see if they'd be interested in Christmas art/fic swap for a /fa/+/cgl/ family Christmas?
>>9264939
They are both still open.
>>9264928
I actually really like it. Would draw or write something but my skills are not /fa/.
>>9264939
>closed to early
They're both still active and have been for days.
>>9264949
I suppose since they are brother and sister, they would. The gift exchange must be horrible.
>>9264970
eh, I doubt they actually care what the status of the polls are... just that they probably check /cgl/ once every 2 weeks and now feel entitled to an opinion
>>9265064
Well /u/ took an early lead and /fa/ wasn't even doing the Winter Ball (and still isn't, they don't even have a topic) so why sit around for a week waiting for votes to trickle in when /u/ was available already?
This is what baffles me. Everyone voting for /fa/ when /fa/ isn't even doing the event.
>>9264933
Because they're very boring in their clothing choices.
I think it's a bit of a problem when your fashion board looks like it shopped at the same generic higher quality than H&M store
>>9264865
I just realized that the rest of her arm just disappears when part of it should be visible
This made me think, is it possible to combine /fa/ and /cgl/s styles and make it work? Like, /fa/ style fashionable with a touch of jfashion?
>>9265987
I think 'Larme' would be a good example of this. It's just dressing in the style that editorial at a fashion magazine likes. It's pretty /fa/
>>9265987
We've had this discussion many times.
No.
It would be terrible
