I'm looking for a bolero or cardigan to wear over this jsk now that it's getting cold out but can't decide what looks best. Are beige or dusty pink boring choices?
>>
>>9254025
They're not necessarily boring imo, just obvious. It's not a bad thing by any means but you can coord with grey, brown, bordeaux or another muted color to add interest if you want.
Either way, I suggest avoiding most cardigans because they tend to be too long for the silhouette and create a frumpy look, stick with boleros or cropped cardigans.

Hey guys,

I'm getting married at the start of December and I'm wearing Mary Magdalene Antionette Fleur in the Black/White colorway.

I have a million wigs but I'm not sure I want to go that OTT. I've also got a lot of extension pieces I can utilise (All are pretty long).
I've googled other people's co-ords in Antoinette fleur but I'm still not 100% sure of what I want to go for. If anybody has any ideas or can point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it!
I look better with my hair down but I also really suck at doing my own hair so I'm going to need as much practice as possible.

Any other co-ord advice is welcome too. The only items I have for this co-ord are the OP, shoes and the headpiece; the rest I haven't bought yet so I'm open to anything.
>>
>>9254306
All of these accessories look really cheap and tacky. Don't skimp out on the details, especially for your wedding
>>
>>9254306
Get much nicer jewelry; don't use any of that cheap lace shit. A higher quality pearl choker or necklace would look nice, imo. I would use lace tights, since the ones you have look kind of cheap an the design wouldn't show while wearing it.
>>
>>9254310
>>9254313
This is for a registry wedding, I'm having a proper wedding in Japan. Just need a cohesive co-ord for the meantime.
Do you have any advice as to where I can find nicer jewellry? I've been looking but I live in Australia so shipping times can be pushing it (Wedding is 1st Dec)

Normie stores, anon. Pretty sure even Australia has shops selling jewellery for regular fashion. Pick a choker that looks nice quality enough for a black-tie event and Bob's your uncle (after also changing the tights). If you really want to splash out you can try the jewellery stores for real pearls instead.
>>

Ah.. I do have a freshwater pearl choker, but it's slightly pink (like the picture). Probably could get away with it though?
>>
>>9254025
You'd definitely want to use a short length one like #1, longer outers are gonna be awkward with that dress cut. The colors the other reply mentioned all sound good, I think ivory or brown would work best personally.

>>9254084
Does the dress print have that shade of lav in it? Too me it looks a bit cool toned but if it's more like that in real life it should all be good.
>>
>>9254064
>>9254356
Thanks for the advise. I hadn't really thought about cardigans being too long.
>>
>>9254349

With the coord as is, white pearls is definitely preferable.

If you can get a matching salmon pink corsage for the day of, then yes, the pink would look fine.
>>
>>9254306

I would ditch the shoes too. If you really want something to match the dress and can splurge, american duchess is the way to go for a 'historically' inspired look, like pic related. Otherwise, maybe look into department stores for nice shoes for the occasion.

My pet peeve is seeing a lolita bride in cheap plastic footwear. It's your wedding ffs, you can afford more than antaina.

I always do incredibly simple coords and now i have no idea how to accessorize this. On the prowl for a nice ivory or pink bag maybe?
Also would short socks look out of place here?
>>
>>9254659
These shoes are actually custom leather versions. I've removed the pearls and the gem - they're very minimal but good quality (and comfortable!) imo.
>>
I have a perfect match of ivory headbow, dress and blouse. However, I'm stuck in footwear because ivory socks are hard to find and I don't want to invest in ivory shoes. The blouse have white detailing so would it be horrible to have atleast white shoes? I'm an old school lolita if that matters.
>>
>>9254675
It might be me being incredibly anal but you're probably better off with a solid color headbow or solid color accessories than the elisabeth unicorn headbow. It doesn't match other than the pinks kinda and it will have a jarring effect because of it.
>>
>>9257751
why do they do this?
>>
>>9257759
I'm assuming because color matching > cohesion to a lot of lolitas
>>
>>9257772
more like color matching = cohesion to a lot of lolitas. cohesion is a vague aesthetic concept that takes time and training to get. that color =/= this color is much easier to spot and doesn't really require you to know anything.

So, I've been trying to come up with a coord for this jsk for a while, but I'm really not sure if I like these shoes and socks. What do you gulls think?
>>9254675
I think otks and heels would look a lot more elegant here, which is what I think you're trying to do with the rest of the coord.
>>
>>9257742
I'd invest in some kind of offwhite shoes for oldschool. Bodyline has offwhite rhs for pretty cheap.
Offwhite or otherwise not stark white socks would work too or you could try tea dying some lightly to better match the other ivories.

>>9257828
Yeah ditch that bag. I see what you were going for with the colors matching but the theme clashes. A biscuit or other sweet bag would work much better.
Not sure if it's just the pic but the shade of pink of the blouse looks a bit too light and cool toned compared to the other pinks. I would find a warmer and brighter pink blouse to use instead.
>>
>>9257861
Off white shoes are not a problem, I actually have multiple white pairs to choose from including off white ones. I actually spotted ivory socks from Lacemarket but I'm still afraid it's going to look like I can't match my whites or dumb to have white block on the bottom when the rest is perfectly matched ivory. Thanks for the tea dying tip, I will try it in a spare pair of plain white otks! This is a first time I have encountered a serious problem in coording I can't solve myself lol.

Even if a lot of lolitas go overboard with color matching, it doesn't change that putting warm toned pinks with cool toned pinks won't look good.

and yet...

why can't lolitas admit that some training wheel rules are just that... training wheels.
>>
>>9258548
You do realize the problem wasn't the tone of the pinks, right? It was cohesion. Even if the pinks matched the prints don't and it looks off.

Most of this dump just basically brings home how different coording lolita is compared to coording normie clothes.

Very specifically, the lolita outfits tend to have a million things going on at once, while these normie outfits are so plain and minimalistic by comparison. Even with the very simplest of the lolita outfits, the skirt itself is a very large block of colour, overpowering the shoes, while most of these normie outfits have nowhere near the bulk and therefore don't need to balance the shoe colour elsewhere.

Sorry, anon, I'm not even the one arguing with you, and I don't actually care about mismatched colours (mostly). But this dump kinda smacks of cluelessness, plus most of the pinks don't even clash all that badly. Maybe if you actually posted a lolita outfit that specifically contained a peachy or salmon pink, paired with a mauve or lavender-ish pink, you'd be able to make a better point.
>>

You can barely see the print in the headbow and the extravagant feel it has is similar enough, if the pinks matched it would look fine.

I'm sort of stuck on legwear. I worry that offwhite OTKs or tights will look too plain. I have a pair of offwhite shoes as well, but I haven't come across any legwear that seems to match. Any ideas?
>>
>>9260132
Is the dress white? Because your blouse is off-white and would look a bit off paired with the dress. Nothing wrong with plain tights since the print is awfully busy. Make your headwear and/or bags more fancy instead if you are worried about being plain.
>>
>>9260142
The lace is stark white, oddly, but the stripes and squares are an off white.
>>
>>9260132

Lace tights. Enough texture to be intersting, not too much to be distracting. Just keep an eye on the quality and try to avoid hooker fishnet or the stuff that looks like raschel lace.

Your blouse actually looks ivory or beige to me, doesn't seem match the offwhite on the dress. If you don't already have it in hand to confirm it's all right with the dress, I'd drop it and go for an a white/offwhite blouse insead.

Bought this on impulse.
D-Did i messed up? It was 90 bucks shipping included. Friend think it's ugly and i don't even like the print but i thought it looked nice.
I have no idea how too coord it other than with white/beige (and eventually pink?). I need to find at least three way to coord this to justify my purchase.
>>

*i don't even like dance themed print
>>
>>9260706
>Friend think it's ugly
Your friend's opinion is irrelevant, if you like it that's all that matters.
Anyway, other than off white, beige, and pink, you might be able to coord it with grey as well, maybe even a combination of those colors; pink headbow, beige/off white blouse, grey bolero, beige/off white socks (maybe with a pink pattern of some sort?), pink/grey shoes, maybe a pink ribbon under the blouse's collar or a pink brooch on the bolero, etc.

Okay so I am going to get married soon and was looking at dresses that I wanted to wear as a wedding dress. It's going to be a kind of last minute wedding so I don't have time to get any sort of custom ordered dress or anything. I was looking at this dress (Baby the Star Shine Bright's Innocent Rose JSK) and I was wondering if any of you thought it would look weird if i we're to tack on another layer of ruffles on the bottom or wear an underskirt. I'm 5'4 and the dress length is listed as 93 to 94 cm on the website. When I measured that on myself from the shoulders it came to a little bit above the knees and because of the church setting I'd like to have it at least reach my knees, maybe go a little under them. Thoughts?
>>
>>9261747
Sorry its not listed that on the website that's the length measurement that is listed on lolibrary
>>
>>9261747
As long as you can find fabric in a really similar colour and texture, the ruffles shouldn't be a huge problem. Congrats on the nuptials!

Don't listen to >>9262419 cause they're being a bitch. I think your coord looks really nice. I think a non-chunky pair of mary jane heels would look better than the shoes you have. Not so sure if the tights will match the white of the dress.
>>
>>9262416
no to the gold star clip and the ringlet wig

don't incorporate star clips into things that they shouldn't be incorporated in. it's a meme here for a reason
>>
>>9262416

ffs do not use that wig unless you want to look like a shitty mana wannabe
>>
>>9262416
Lose the star clip, earrings, and weird ring; find some more cohesive accessories. Where are you planning to put the star clip with that headdress on anyway?

Tights don't look like they'll match. The Hot Topic Holy Lantern knockoff tights would be better for this outfit.

And if this is your first dress - for fuck's sake buy a petticoat BEFORE you even look at a wig, that's a classic noob mistake.
>>
>>9262416

Ehh, yeah. It's not actually especially terrible, but it does look a bit clusterfucky.

Ditch these entirely: Wig, star clip
And let them stay gone. The wig is terrible and you should not throw star clips onto everything.

Definitely fix this:

- a black bag instead of a brown one. You don't have brown anywhere else in your coord, it's all black and ivory.

- If you're going with those tights, get more mature shoes, or at least remove the bow clips.

- If you're sticking with the shoes, get some print tights from either AP or taobao. I'd stay away from the hot topic replicas, at least until you've met your comm and verified there aren't anti-replica nutcases on there who'll hate your guts the instant you show up in them.

- Make sure the gold earrings aren't too big

The headdress is kinda dodgy too, but I think it should be okay, along with the moitie ring (if real. If fake, make sure it at least looks expensive and not like a cheap $2 toy)

Seconding the anon who says to get a petticoat. Lack of petti in lolita is an instant ita-maker.

Thought it went without saying that you use a petti, sorry for not posting one. I will look for a new pair of tights, shoes, and ditch the wig and hair clip entirely. The bag is black IRL, but if it even the shop's pictures are brown than I should have recognized it as a no-go. The gold earrings and headdress pics are stand-ins until I find the exact pieces I wanted, they are just the style I was looking for so I'll keep in mind to keep it small. The ring is real, and if I can't get my hands on that one I'm still absolutely going to make sure it isn't replaced by some dollar-store toy.

Hope I'm not coming across as anything negative by replying to everyone, I really appreciate the criticism.

Ditch the cosplay blonde wig, that shit's nasty.

And go for a black capelet with gold braid detailing so it matches the shoes and ties in with the JSK, something like pic related. The one you chose is too sleek/minimalist in design for something as sweet as Cirque du l'Etoile.

Socks depend a great deal on what blouse you're going to wear, but I'd say definitely no to the card suits one. You'd be mixing motifs and mixing reds. My gut reaction is navy blouse and navy socks with gold detailing, but that's just me.

Can't tell if the beret is black or navy but if it's black, I'd suggest looking for something else if you can. It doesn't seem like there's any other black in the coord, it'll look weird.
>>
It looked navy in the shop but yeah it's really really dark
There's a necklace in there too the other jewellery is just a couple of rings
>>
>>9264654
>implying this really needs much jewelry

besides a ring or two, what else? long sleeves, wristcuffs, and a necktie take care of most everything.
>>
>>9264647

I do feel like the bag needs a blue accent, it doesn't look too bad, but being noticeably ivory it does look a little bit seperate, if that makes sense. Just a simple off brand blue charm should do it, or maybe you could tie a simple blue bow onto it.

I have pretty mixed feelings about the wristcuffs, too. Seems like white cuffs with blue accents, or white cuffs with blue jewellery would work better than blue cuffs, imo. Like it's not bad, just a bit odd-looking, if that makes sense.

Other than that, it looks pretty cute. I don't think the black beret is all that distracting either, or you can try matching it with black shoes if you want to tie it in more cohesively.

Trying to figure out something for around xmas, feel really lost.
It needs to be warm (so tights only, no otks, and long sleeves are a must, would prefer to wear boots or shoes that cover my whole foot) and I'd prefer a lower heel since I'll be on my feet all day
The blouse and the purse actually match perfectly irl, the stock photos are just terrible
sorry for the crappy picture of the bonnet, i couldn't find a stock photo so i'm using the listing photo (it's being sold together with the jsk and they match)
Also checking out some normie stores for cute gloves but idk what color to go with

Congrats on getting your dream dress anon! I think the most important thing to remember is this dress is sweet (or sweet-gothic), and you seem to be trying to coord it in a classic way. While an experienced lolita might be able to get this to work in a more mature way, if I were you I'd stick to a sweet coord for now.

The shoes might work but something about them looks a little awkward, I think if you could find a pair with just a bow and not the sparkly adornment it would work a lot better. Brand OTKs in offwhite with a silver or gold design (think something like radiant candlelight otk) would look a lot better.

That bag is really pretty, but I would save it for actual classic/gothic coords later. I would say get some sort of shape bag, either a black heart bag or something like Swimmer's Horror Night Coffin bag in black.

Wig and star clip are a no go, but you already knew that. Ring should be fine. Earrings look like they're really big? Unless they're much smaller in person, I would find something a little more unobtrusive, or it'll cheapen up your coord a lot.

I'm not a fan of the veil thing either, Maybe try for just a black headbow (I'm a little stumped on headwear here though)

You can take my advice with a grain of salt though, this was more of an "How I would coord this dress" thing, but hopefully it'll give you some ideas

The tights look like they'd be rather messy with the higher boots since less of your leg will be showing, so if you're going for the brownish boots I'd advise doing ivory tights (you can do knit tights for texture, or layer white/ivory lace tights together for extra warmth). The black boots should be okay with the tights.

You'll also want to check the ivory/white of the coat against the purse.

Otherwise, it's a nice coord. I'd match the colour of the gloves to either the coat or the shoes.
>>
>>9264613
Oh hey I have the same dress. I would be mindful of matching white/off white/ivory/beige since they are all different for IW.
I like the look of the brown lattice otks but a pink pattern would match nice too. Brown shoes and ivory bag is definitely the way to go.
>>
has anyone got an example of an underskirt working in non-ott outfits? i'm stupid tall and just want to add a couple of centimeters to the bottom of my jsks, but i've only ever seen underskirts look super fancy.
>>
>>9265754
I don't have example pics but as a fellow tall gull I can tell you they work in non OTT outfits as well. I think if you're worried bout it try using a simple chiffon underskirt with a dress or skirt that doesn't already have a chiffon/tulle trim to it.
>>
>>9265754

Probably good if you mentioned how much extra length you need.

I do pink Cosmic with an underskirt, but because I only need 1-2 inches extra length it generally doesn't look anything different. If you can't find other examples I'll take a photo of that once I get home.

If you need something like 4 inches of underskirt just to have the skirt be long enough to reach your knees it's going to be a really different look, though. Might be worth checking out the tall girls thread and see if they have better advice for you as well >>9249581.

I am not sure what color metal to look for, as the grommets on the boots are a dark gold and the handle on the bag is silver. For starters, you don't need to wear a blouse with an OP, and that blouse is too simple for sweet lolita anyway. Other than that, there's a little too much brown as it is right now so consider adding some pink pieces to the coord to break it up a bit like small bows or pink chocolate hair clips to wear with whatever bonnet you're looking for. Maybe even switch out the tights as well, I think AP has released a few pink and brown chocolate OTKs in the past.
>>
>>9270038
You don't need to wear a long-sleeve blouse with an OP. If you want to cover your arms, try a cardigan. There's lots of pink/chocolate-themed ones. I'd try going for pink shoes instead of brown to balance out the dress. Bonnets are cute, but you'd probably have an easier time finding a bow/beret for this coord as a beginner. Definitely go with some brown and pink accessories like wrist cuffs, purse, and jewelry!
>>
>>9270038
You can't really put a blouse under that op because it has a collar already. You might end up with weird bulks. I would probably also try to add some pink to the bottom. I feel like hard bonnet would clash a bit with the general style of the coord so I would go with a soft one. Needs more accessories also.

How can I coordinate skirt with a seethrough blouse? The blouse has really cute embroidery and I don't want to hide it under jsk

>>9270153
Wear a camisole?
>>
>>9270164
Oh, so easy! I have totally forgotten they exist. Should I look for a fancy one?
>>
>>9270172
I either wouldn't (save the see through blouses for jsks) or wear a vest over it. Otherwise I feel like it become too normie/revealing
>>
>>9270172
>>9270153

A fancy camisole would clutter up the embroidery, wouldn't it? And if it doesn't, then honestly I'm not really sure the blouse is pretty enough to show off.

I mean, given that what you're doing might be borderline ero (depending on how sheer the blouse is and the overall coord), I wouldn't bother taking risks for just some random meh-tier taobao blouse with some little bit of random embroidery on it.

Not at all, though I guess it depends on the design on the socks. Since roses aren't a prominent feature in the print, you should look for OTKs or tights with a rose pattern that's nice and subtle enough to match without being overbearing.
>>
>>9271516
I like the socks the other anon suggested and think something subtle like that or with a simple print would be nice. A cutlery print works too of course if you're not sure.
For headwear I would try to match the skirt color if possible with a headbow or beret. You could add a cutlery or floral clip too.

>>9268896
I would skip that hat and get a plain one to decorate instead, you can find them on aliexpress and ebay for cheap. I just think the polka dots on the bodyline one will look strange with the gingham dress. I agree that a basket bag would be cute too.

Absolutely, as long as both colours have the same tone (warm or cool) you should be fine.

>>

>baby pink and dusty pink can't both be cool toned

Even if they're both cool toned (which is hard to do because baby pink is most often warm toned unless it's more close to a lilac colour) neither colour works together. Pic related ^

Advice from last time:
>No blouse
>Break up the browns with some pink
>Hard Bonnets are a np/are hard to pull off as a beginner.

SO, I couldn't find any tights I liked and instead changed the shoes to break up the lower brown.
Instead of a bonnet I went with a matching beret. Wrist cuffs were suggested and I love the idea, but I can't find any for sale that match the shade of pink that I'm going with.
>I like the design of those cuffs but not the color.
Gloves to add more pink and break up the overall piece.

Accessories and bags, maybe? I feel like my coordinates are boring also and those help somewhat.
Not a fan of the middle shoes. They don't seem sweet enough for the dress.
>>
>>9275824
Use different legwears, add wristcuffs, jewelry, different bags, wigs, etc. There's a lot you're not thinking of that contributes to variety.
>>
>>9275824

Biggest change for a jsk is between using a blouse vs using a bolero/cardi, you'll get drastically different looks with both. Additionally, choosing between short sleeves, long sleeves and princess sleeves will also give you very different looks.

If you're solely doing fantasy coords (eg- coord collages or practice coords with no particular event/meetup in mind), you can give yourself a challenge to work with instead of aimlessly throwing things on, eg - make a fancy coord for an OTT party, a coord for a day at the beach, a summer coord, a winter coord, pink coord with dress x, brown coord with dress x, etc etc.

A smaller, limited wardrobe is going to be harder to get variety out of -- on account of just not having much to change up, for eg in your collage the main block is the same dress and tights and you only have one blouse. That's pretty limiting.
>>
>>9274661

I need help deciding what I should be on the lookout for though - ivory and gold legwear or black and gold? I feel like ivory would tie in with the OP more but black would tie more of the black in. Should I also try to buy some new headpieces instead of just using these clips?

>>

Depends on the tassels and where they are. A small gold metal tassel necklace with this is okay, but using giant gold curtain ties as a belt would be a bit much unless you are specifically going for the OTT classic velvet and gold soft furnishings look.
>>
>>9285741
Well if you're going to pair black with navy I would at least avoid the colors directly touching to keep them from looking muddled. Black shoes and bag are okay, definitely go with white legwear. I would replace the bows with navy ones too.

I think the headband doesn't really suit the coord well, though; It seems a little on the fussier side, while the rest of your coord is more streamlined. >>
>>9289385
Replacing the headband with a beret is a good idea, I think maybe brown would work since there isn't enough of it as is. You can add a bow or floral clip onto that as well. You could also use a colored neck ribbon instead of a white one, either brown or the gray from the skirt should look nice.

Thanks for the input, anons. I like the beret idea but I'm not sure how well brown would play out since my hair is dark brown; because of this I decided to go with the white bag. In that case, burgundy/bordeaux beret? I was thinking, though: I planned on wearing my hair in a curly chignon (not sure how high or low on my head yet), so why not a hair comb?

As for the neck ribbon, I didn't plan on wearing it-- it came with the blouse and I wasn't up to shooping it out. I do like the idea of using a colored one, though.
>>
>>9289581
I'd wear it with a haircomb and the brown bag, I think it added a nice casual vibe. Also your hair would balance it out.
The white bag and wine beret are too matchy matchy for my personal taste, but I understand that's what a lot of Lolitas go for.

I adore this dress but I'm stumped on what to coord it with. Suggestions? I was thinking reincorporating the reds on the dress but I can't find shades that match that well.

Figured this was the closest thread to post this.
Anyone know where I can get candy cane (diagonal swirl) striped socks or tights in pastel colors? I feel they would work really well with some of my super sweet dresses. I had to crappily edit red ones because I can't find any no matter the keywords I try to search.

I did some searching for you and found this etsy shop in Australia. https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/BreakTheSeamz

looks like they do hand-dyed crotchet tights that you could certainly layer over opaque white ones. (pic related are the tights in teal blue)
I hope you can find cuter ones. ETC and JM probably make diagonal striped otks
good luck!!

That sounds good to me, you can't go wrong pairing classic with brown or other neutrals. If you wanted to get a bit more daring you could add some pink in there too.

Both of these are so cute! I wonder if you could do the gingerbread bag plus the red shoes honestly? I think it might be cute to try.

>>9298374
For this one I think it depends on the setting. If you're wearing a coat or other outer the boots would be more suitable. For indoors only the flats might work okay. I think you should use those red heels from the top coords actually lol.

I haven't been able to find a Brand jsk or skirt that fits (and is the right length) so I've came up with this since last time I was here
>>
>>9300327
That skirt looks really depressing. It looks like you're going for oldschool style here, so I would swap the blouse for a cotton one and try to find a skirt with nicer lace details instead of the weird ruched trim.
>>
>>9299181
Ahh, I saw this too late, but thanks
>>
>>9300327
>>9300568
Seconded. I would recommend Karami skirt from Baby, it has been released many times so it's quite easy to find, it's long and has elastic waist. I have the blouse and while it's definitely flattering it's not old school style. The material is like chiffon and lace is tulle which clashes with the skirt and headdress. The collar is too pointy for an old school blouse, old school peter pan collars are wide as fuck and usually caked with lace. Your socks seem to be wrong color and I would switch for cotton lace ones. I personally like a black and white headdress with black and white coord but that could be just me. Lastly, I would choose a bit more natural wig. Brightele wigs are good for old school because they are made for daily wear and are thus more natural.
>>
>>9300685
I've seen that skirt before, it's really pretty; however, it does not fit my waist :/ I'll check out Brightlele for wigs, I think I've heard of them before. I'll definitely search around for some cotton blouses; finding blouses has been a huge pain since I've started looking for the pieces to go with my first coordinate. Hopefully I come across a blouse with a wide peter pan collar, if not, it's fine. Where would you recommend I get socks like that? The ones pictured are by Meta, if you know of any other stores that would carry that style, please let me know haha meta has been the only store I've found that has them that way. And I agree, I like the bxw headdress with this style but I couldn't choose which one I liked the most haha it was between the all black and bxw; they both looked good

I personally like Baby's socks. Lolitabutiken has some offbrand ones and they are not as nice but cheap. Also, IW has made torchon lace socks so I would check their site too. I have found all of my lace tops from auctions, Japanese people are usually a bit grosses out by used footwear so even if they were used like once they will go cheap and sometimes they even came unused. You can check if there is rectangle headdresses too. If you want yo have super puffy lace tops Meta ones will do but I'm personally a bit iffy about different laces being mixed. The blouse looks good!

Thank you so much for your help! I really appreciate it, I also have another question: If I decided to buy a pair of Bodyline rocking horse shoes, would it be better to get them at my exact measurements or go half a size or so up? I heard body line shoe sizing is really weird and I don't want them to be too big. Thank you so much all of your help, I'm really glad I came here haha

Are you sure you mean the karami skirt? With the thin/striped/slightly sheer material it's made from and the way its constructed (elastic waistband, awkward uncovered seam a third of the way down), I think it often ends up looking like an underskirt.

Pic related, karami skirt looking weirdly-shaped on left, "princess skirt" using the same basic design used over and over again for years on right. I have seen it used as an outerskirt in a couple of oldschool coord pics but IMO it looks weird, and I think it was originally intended to be able to use as a layering item/petticoat.

Some releases of it are more dressy than others, but overall I wouldn't say it was an easy item for a beginner to coord.

Fancier release that'd easily pass muster as an ordinary skirt:
http://www.closetchildonlineshop.com/product/111429

Release you'd probably want to give a miss:
http://yaplog.jp/baby-kanazawa/archive/2961

Maple wigs are also pretty good for oldschool, they have some of the archetypal styles. IMO oldschool requires either wigs so natural they look like natural hair, or wigs of the types that were popular back then - i.e. long straight hime cut, ringlets or curly.
>>
>>9301428
*karami skirt on right, princess skirt on left, darn
>>
>>9301407
Thank you! I love the way the Bodyline RHS look, I might get those instead
>>9301428
I'll definitely look into Maple wigs, and some of baby's older pieces, thank you so much :)
>>
>>9301407
Well I find them thick and like the lace and especially the ribbon you can thighten so they stay up even the elastic is worn out. But as I said it's a personal preference and I have never gotten them new or for full price.

>>9301428
Yes, I meant Karami. I own the black one and I definitely find the white one a bit odd but the black one works well for me. I have actually never thought about it being meant for layering but you could be right since it has fully elastic waist. However, I have another Baby skirt with full elastic waist and it's definitely meant to be worn outside. I love mine because it's so comfy and long and that's why I thought it would be useful for anon. Thank you for pointing out, I might get the white one to use as an underskirt.

I just got this skirt in my Meta lucky pack. I'm still pretty new to lolita and it's pretty different from what I usually wear, so I'm not sure what kind of blouse to wear with it. I know I want to wear either a black or white blouse with it, but I don't know what kind of style I should look for.
>>
>>9303076
Pretty much any style could go with this, except for maybe sailor collar blouses. High neck, peter pan collar, sweetheart or square neckline, just pick whichever one you like and is most flattering on you. And yes both black and white will be just fine.

Trying to figure out how I want to coord this one, I've got some lacy black shoes with some black lace stockings, but no idea on head piece or blouse. I have dyed red hair so I'm unsure if I should wear my pale blonde wig with it.

Addittionally, anyone know any red tartan dresses?
>>
>>9303134
Black or matching greyxblack could both work for a headpiece. Would suggest black for bag and white for blouse and legwear, with maybe black details on the legwear. Could go black blouse as well - either stand collar or peter pan collar in a long-sleeved classic style.

If you're doing it with black lace stockings it'd be cute with a black bolero and a necklace rather than a blouse IMO.

i just got the royal creamy chocolate jsk in mocha and i was wondering if it would match this brown btssb blouse i have, but i'm not sure if the colours are too similar in tone.
perhaps it's better if i pair it with a cream blouse?
thanks!
>>
>>9303827
I feel like the browns really clash, but the style of the cream blouse doesn't suit it at all and looks awkward.. I would go with a cream blouse of a similar style to the brown one. Sorry anon.
>>
Just got this though it feels very summary/springy, is there any way I can make this more wintery. I see maybe a light colored fur collar and fabric based hat but I'm at a loss for leg wear and the dress is ivory colored with lilac rose detail in the print.
>>
>>9303850
no need to apologize, thanks for the tip!

It's a bit difficult to make this dress look wintery but maybe try OTKs or tights with a cable knit pattern, it's a subtle detail but it might help.

Seconding cable knit tights, and boots.
I think brown boots and bag would work well.
I like the idea of a fur collar, maybe even a muff too?

Anyway I just got this skirt on a bit of an impulse and I have no idea how to coord it. I normally go for super gothy oldschool type looks and this skirt is a bit casual/almost classic leaning and Im having hard time coming up with a nice coord that suits my gothic tastes.
