Anyone going to the RICC next weekend? Seems like no one on this board lives in this desolate state.

I'll be there, planning Miss Frizzle and probably Minnie Mouse.
It's super crowded and hot, so I try to wear more comfortable Western costumes. I really just want to go meet celebrities and derp around Dave and Busters...
As someone who lives in the desolate state, can confirm no one else lives here.
I went last year and wasn't thrilled. It seems so sloppy and ill-executed for a "big name" convention. It has some nice celebrities if you're willing to wait for way too long, though.
Sup, I'm gonna be there with my buddy. We're just tooling around, shake some celebrity hands. Very cosplay light.

I'm also the OP from this thread.
I haven't been since the year they oversold passes by about 10,000+ people.
They seemed to be spending a ton on advertising this year too. I've heard ads for them on the radio. I went to a baseball game this summer and they where there. Is there anything special going on besides Stan Lee?

Yeah I skipped it last year because of that. I'm probably just going for a day to try and find some nice deals on some merchandise (never do, but one can hope).
Will probably just go as a lazy t-shirt/jeans Superboy if anyone wants to say hi.

Never been to this, is it any good?
The only con I've been to was Terrificon a few months ago.
I moved to RI fairly recently and I'll go because it's super close. It seems really pricey. Is it actually worth it? Is it just full of people in bazinga shirts?

I didn't go last year, but if you didn't have access to guest stuff or weren't a giant comic book fan there really wasn't much. It's not like Connecticon or most anime cons where there's a bit for everyone.

So it's pretty much all comics and no anime?

Basically. And some tv show/movie stuff and wrestling.
I don't understand why Ricc gets so many wrestlers

I'll be on the lookout
