Does anyone know what's going on with Lockshops customer service?
Who even owns it?
Girly toot
>>9239391
Not sure if bait or...
Just don't buy from Lockshop. Quality is shit now and Choke ignores all complaints about it. $10 sweatshop wigs for 5 times the price.
>>9239407
Nope, not bait. Should've done my research before purchasing.
I'm an idiot.
>>9239421
Don't worry we've all been there. My first and last wig I purchased from them was a disaster. You could see all of the netting through the back. Apparently that's not uncommon with them now.
>>9239437
which is really sad. I have two old wigs from them and they are gorgeous, soft fibers, thick hair and nice colors.
I wish Choke would finally get her shit together again. But sure this won't happen.
>>9239437
Aw really? I bought a wig from then a few years back when they were fairly new and it's one of my favorites. Sucks that the only place I really can buy wigs from now is Arda
>>9239391
yeah don't buy from them right now, I've gotten plenty of horror stories recently. quality has gone down by a lot and customer support is abysmal (though she claimed she will be unfucking that now; we shall see)
everyone who feels like sharing their horror stories for the sake of spreading info, I'd appreciate if you could message me at [email protected] or just drop pics in this thread
>>9239450
why would you bother buying arda if you're not a cosplayer? there's plenty of asian sources for wigs
>>9239461
...Why would you automatically assume that I don't cosplay? This is cgl
>>9239474
true, but Lockshop's wigs are pretty strongly j-fash oriented, though now that I think of it she did have a harley quinn wig up last time I checked the site
my bad I guess
didnt choke start a line of shoes or something now?
To me it feels like shes trying to abandon the bad rep shes got from lockshop and start a new business
>>9239494
her shoes aren't that special anyway. DSW sells something similar, although that's probably because whatever cheapass factory she uses/used stole her design, kek.
>>9239449
This. My old LS wigs are great, but the new ones are complete shit
>>9239391
Wigs are shit and owner is a raging cunt, what more do you want to know?
I ordered a wig from them last year and they took a long time to ship- apparently it was at the same time their help desk was having technical issues and they got back to me as soon as they shipped it out with the tracking number.
unfortunately the wig i bought was kinda shitty (angelic mocha, their newest one). the wig is so thin in the back that the netting was showing. i have an older lockshop wig (dolly in royal brown) and it's so thick and soft compared to their new wigs.
>>9239496
I briefly thought about getting a pair from her because the DSW and JM ones don't come in my size or in colors I want, but her business practices....
Also the original prototypes for them that she posted way back when were much nicer
I was the one that created the previous lockshop wig thread. I was a noob looking for good lolita wigs and stumbled upon good reviews. I bought a wig and found a bad review which led me here. I freaked at the negative replies. I got my wig within a month at least, but never again.
Gonna go to cyperous from now on. Any other wig stores good for lolita? We need to get lockshop out of the picture for wigs.
I loved that it is european based. Saved me a lot of hassle with customs I have otherwise. There is no other euro based wig seller with good wig out there, is it?
>>9239397
There's been so much shit you haven't accounted for and now you're trying to make a shoe brand. Claiming everyone is faded lolcow Kate and shitposting on /cgl/ high is not something you should do when customers need you.
>>9239856
Do you have any pictures of the prototypes? I really wanted to buy real leather lolita shoes but I'll probably just stick to real fashion brands.
>>9240190
This. I wish there was anywhere in Europe that sold wigs, even if it's more of a cosplay-focussed store like Arda or whatever. Not only is shipping expensive but the customs charges in my country are ridiculous.
There is Mycostumes which sells wigs and is based in Germany (don't know about their quality though but they are at every con in Germany)
>>9240246
As far as I know their own collection (plastikhaar) is really good but really cosplay oriented. Their other wigs are only Taobao resells.
>>9240291
>are only taobao resells
So there's no difference between them and Lockshop. I got a good chuckle at that recent RC thread calling out LS where the one girl tried saying that Choke made all the wigs.
>>9240190
Their sites down atm but Coscraft UK has some fashion-style wigs iirc. They're Taobao resellers, but it might be worth checking them out? I don't know what their prices are like mind you.
>>9240156
t b h Bodyline wigs are fairly ok, need some styling but for the price they're ace
>>9239494
bought the DSW shoes. they are very comfortable and a great price!
I bought some Dreamholic wigs as an alternate to the new lockshop wigs. I was very unimpressed. Dreamholic wigs are super shiny, look nothing like the stock photos, and the curls seem to fall out after one or two uses. They don't brush easy either.
>>9240373
Last time I got a Dreamholic wig it looked very realistic but the fibres weren't as soft or brushable as Lockshop.
>>9240231
Check Winkie Winkie. It's a reseller also, but they have sometimes super good offers. I bought a Brightlele wig for 30€ there when they had a clearance sale. I don't know if it's worth it otherwise, especially if you are living in a country with lower VAT and custom charge but for me it has been a great shop to get Asian wigs fast and without customs.
Epic cosplay is a better alternative to lockshop, try that
>>9240379
epic cosplay's color swatches are completely wrong though, so anyone buying for them be careful that the color will NOT match the photo.
>>9240334
Do you have a link? Everything I search has 800+ results
>>9240373
Maybe it's just you? I found them to be more realistic looking than lockshop and easier to brush and manage. I bought the Romlea? in natural black and in apricot and I couldn't be happier. They aren't as heavy as the older lockshop wigs, which may have some complain that they are 'thin', but this means you can wear them all day with no discomfort and you still don't see any wefts.
>>9240660
Same here. I want to see what they look like at least!
>>9243329
I also had trouble with Dreamholic, anon. I got a hime cut wig in honey tea. Honey tea apparently means dark brown, so the color was super off to begin with and didn't match the swatches they had shown on their site. It was super shiny and tangled horribly after every use. I don't think I'll ever buy from them again. 50+ dollars for a literal bottom of the bin eBay wig.
I don't know if we have a general wig thread but what's the consensus on Rockstar/Gothic Lolita Wigs? They have a style that's pretty much exactly what I've been looking for but reviews are still mixed. I don't really care about the whole racist crap but I want to know if the quality is good.
>>9243453
The swatches for Honey Tea on dreamholics FB shows a medium brown. Setting aside the fact that monitors do not always show true to color, I own many Dreamholic wigs and two in honey tea. It sounds like you got sent a wrong color, because unless you live in the land of blondes there's no way it could be considered "dark" brown. It's medium brown.
>>9243831
I just ordered a DH wig through taobao, what are your experiences with it?
>>9240156
>cyperous
It's like you only make bad decisions.
>>9243864
Whoa whoa whoa, what's wrong with Cyperous?
>>9243868
Looks really shiny on some. You can get so much better on taobao.
>>9243823
Quality declined over the years (I think they switched manufacturers, correct me if I'm wrong). I bought a GLW about a year ago and it just tangled all to hell after one wear and was super shiny, not to mention it was expensive for the quality.
>>9243879
Ugh, damn. Does anyone know a place that has thicker curly wigs? I'm looking for something that has a lot of volume/body, is pretty long. Been having no luck so far.
>>9243902
Can be curly or wavy, I'm pretty flexible on the curls, I really just need the volume
>>9243874
That doesn't look that bad imo, just looks like it's under super bright lights.
Also, I have yet to find any quality wigs on taobao. Every single place either the fibres all fell out, it was impossible to brush, or it looked nothing like the stock photo. So...
>>9243868
my best wig is a cyperous and lasted me years. their stock posts are just bad.
if your wig is a bit shiny, use some dry shampoo on it.
>>9244026
I mean, if you take a picture and they use flash, there will be shine.
I have non shiny wigs from wigisfashion though, which is a taobao reseller.
>>9243868
Nothing, anon is just a dumbass. Cyperous are the best wigs I own and often get mistook for my real hair because the shades come in very natural colors, and it has a sheen that healthy hair would.
>>9240378
>Winkie Winkie
overpriced af
>>9243902
Sistawigs.com
>>9244431
You know what, I didn't even think about the beauty supply store! Thanks
>>9243823
Also, overpriced af and had some really racist advertising a while ago so people stopped buying from them and moved to Lockshop
>>9244390
>wigisfashion
>taobao reseller.
I didn't realize this... who do they resell from? The size of their caps and lacefront quality always struck me as something more unique, especially since you can customize the wig. Unless you're only referring to their non-lacefront line.
>>9239391
OT but anyone know the name of the artist?
>>9239421
Of its not bait you should've asked in the general
>>9240231
There are tons of places that sell wigs in Europe? What do you think bald women and black women wear?
>>9240333
You may think that but we can all tell when you're wearing a cheap wig with lolita
>>9244886
Then please go ahead and tell me some online shops that sell fashion wigs for a reasonable price with good quality.
>>9244890
nayrt but a couple of them /are/ actually decent. you just have to know which ones to get, like with all their other shit
>>9240156
Brightlele makes really good wigs
and of course there's mintymix and dreamholic
>>9243823
don't waste your money. GLW uses the shittiest fibers that tangle in impossible ways just from wearing. my first wig was one of their twin tail doll delight ones and the base wig was fucked after one use. I still have the twin tails because I've only used them three times in two years, and I can get away with not brushing them so far. but any of their wigs with a curl is going to go straight to hell.
even if you got a bone straight style it still isn't worth it. I'd look up L-email. they're a reseller and the wigs aren't bad.
>>9245389
yeah I got a GLW twintail wig as my first wig and it was just so awful. It was honestly a tangled mess when I received it
>>9244396
I second this. The Cyperous wig I own is amazing and a million times better than lockshop in both quality and their customer service. It took forever for lockshop to send me my wig, I couldn't get them to respond to my emails and they never sent my tracking number. I emailed Cyperous for help ordering and they responded within hours and I got my wig super quick. The Cyperous wig was soft and easy to manage whereas the lockshop one was a fucking mess and didn't feel or look very nice.
>>9244513
Oh yeah, I remember when GLW did that collab with the drag queen whose watermelon gimmick pissed everyone off.
So logically, people went to Lockshop to support spergs mcgee where absolutely no minority models feature for...reasons. Which begs the question why they ever demanded the diversity to begin with. Or if seagulls were just rampant SJWs a couple years back before it became evident that people weren't taking that shit seriously.
Either way it's karma well deserved.
>>9245381
Brightlele has nice fibres and I love their color range, but sadly the wigs are a bit thin.
What are the most tangle-free wigs? I wear wigs on a daily basis and there's only so much you can do to detangle them. I've personally had good experiences with gkyouko wigs on Taobao, at least for the price, but I was looking for something a bit more realistic looking.
>>9244916
>for a reasonable price with good quality.
This is your problem: you think a reasonable price is less than 50 euro, when in reality it's closer to 100 euro. If you want good quality that is. That's why the wigs most lolita's and cosplayers wear look like shit.
