Curious. I'm wondering if there are any examples of home made lolita that aren't shit. I'm a guy with no interest in wearing the fashion, however I've always liked the look. I've designed stuff before, and I feel like I could take a crack at Lolita stuff and actually make something pretty nice, but I would need fabrics that don't look like shit.

>Curious. I'm wondering if there are any examples of home made lolita that aren't shit
Such a thing doesn't exist.
>>9236427
I generally like a lot of what this girl makes.
>>9236439
He asked for examples that aren't shit.
>>9236440
Curious what makes it shit?
>>9236455
Lurk more.
>>9236458
You're an idiot
>>9236466
Pot, meet kettle.
>>9236458
This is such a useless response. If you're going to call something shit you might as well at least say why or provide a good example.
>>9236440
Vendetta pls leave
>>9236468
I really don't like the filter on this it almost makes it hard to see quality of materials and construction.
This girl makes some nice stuff.
>>9236474
I don't think you know what vendetta means anon.
>>9236440
Anon, just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's shit or poorly constructed.
It's well made, fits, and isn't horrible to look at. Chill your tits.
in this edition of 'I just learned to use illustrator brushes'
how to really fuck up flats.
>>9236455
Nothing. That person is either a troll or has a vendetta, or both.
>>9236518
My favorite thing about this is if you just make the skirt longer you have a nice hippie outfit. So versatile!
I enjoy making hand made items. I mostly stick to simplistic skirts. I have a JSK that I started, but need to take apart and reconstruct the bust. I'd also like to take a tiered skirt I made and fix it up in my serger and make the construction cleaner.
I'm currently working on my first high waisted skirt.
>>9236525
>newfags incorrectly using the "vendetta" meme
I thought summer was over
>>9236518
.....took me awhile to figure out the eye shape with two tails is supposed to be the belt. No idea what the fluffy cloud is supposed to be, though.
Is there company that makes good lolita patterns?
All the ones in the sticky are by the same company and they are shit
>>9236726
You could look at Otome No Sewing. It's all in Japanese though
>>9236423
>thinking buying good materials for handmade lolita is poorfag
I wish it were, anon.
>>9236727
Great! Thanks for the info
>>9236732
This. Quality fabric, lace, and notions can cost you the same, if not more depending on what you get than buying brand.
Dumping the good handmade I have saved
>>9236750
>good
anon
pls
>>9236755 just to mention the coord here I think is whatever but the dress looks interesting to me. iirc they screen printed the emblems on themselves
>>9236618
It think it's supposed to be a butt fluff.
>>9236748
importing fabric is expensive too. $7 for half a yard can add up fast.
>>9236757
I like this except for the cardigan. Just seems out of place.
Don't derail the thread. Trolls are too dim to understand garment costing.
>>9236797
This looks worse than bodyline
>>9236799
She's made better stuff. I can't quite pinpoint what it is, but most of the stuff she wears screams handmade.
>>9236799
You have shit taste the coord is fine.
>>9236807
It is because of the style she wears, and the fabric she uses. She clearly likes it like this, but she is intentionally adding touches that are more obviously hand made. Its old school as it is in the design and feel of stuff that was actually worn in like 2003 when everyone in the west wore hand made stuff.
>>9236752
This is beautiful, would wear it in a heartbeat
Dumping a bunch of Lizchen_R
>>9236945
I ADORE that wig/hair gosh. Goals.
>>9236971
>Those hats are ridiculous for a street fashion like lolita
>>9236479
It seems like the bust is a bit small on this, makes her look really long.
Also nitpick
>shoes match nothing but the hair
I don't know why but I hate it when the only thing a part of the outfit matches is the wig. It just looks so bad
itt: a million reasons why you should never listen to /cgl/'s "lolitas"
Do brand have a special diameter for the end of the skirt part of they dress or it's change on each different dress?
Not exactly lolita, but I figured that you guys would be the best people to ask.
Would anybody happen to have any dress/skirt pattern or specific petti recommendations to make pic related? Any help at all would be much appreciated.
>>9236797
This girl is so damn perfect. I'm not even a huge fan of classic but jesus shes amazing. I also love her posts about mushroom foraging
>>9237631
just shorten this.
>>9236949
Holy shit, I'm in love.
>>9236475
it's actually bad quality, at least the lace used on it.
>>9237663
That looks perfect, thank you so much!
>>9236726
>>9237115
Best advice i can give is dont listen to anyone who says "3x your waist" its NOT nearly enough fabric. 4.5x waist is usually more suitable.
I don't think the girl that made this still does lolita, but I remember a lot of her stuff was really nice.
>>9238174
Honestly unless you're a landwhale just use 250-300cm as the hem width.
>>9236755
This is awful.
>>9238225
4'oclock as an indie brand's still about, just the designer now longer uses that name, instead, she just sells everything now under her own name, both her lolita pieces and her high fashion stuff.
>>9236440
Other than whatever fuckin shoop is going on around her mouth, this is absolutely fine. STFU.
>>9237096
it's that there's a small bust and then a fitted waist under. She be a lovely longcat though
>>9236618
Obviously lolita lobster bib
>>9236423
It is so much more expensive, not just in material but in terms of time as well, to make your own shit. What are you on about m8?
>>9236752
oh that is lovely!
>>9238225
this dress is so damn divine
Simple but really lovely.
>>9238414
back
>>9238425
lol she was actually lamenting her mistake when she posted it too
>>9236752
low this! the tassel things are a nice touch

>>9238425
This is one of mine actually. I talked about the white thread when I posted it originally. I paid 3/yd for the fabric and it seemed a shame to pay more for the thread than the fabric. I enjoy being cheap but sometimes it backfires ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
>>9238705
>>9238710
love this one
>>9238711
>>9238644
This looks short.
Too short.
>>9238718
For a short person, maybe? Or to be paired with an underskirt.
>>9238228
Thats what im trying to say really, if you have a 60 cm waist 180 cm hem is not going to be enough poof for lolita, which is why the 3x waist is fucking dumb
>>9238425
Oh no "reeeeee" chan is back
>please gtfo
>>9238812
I have a 56cm waist and tend to use 280cm hem to fit nicely in a cupcake shaped petti.
>>9238775
>>9238718
dunno, maybe? this is the coord they posted it with. looks like it stops right at the top of the boots.
>>9238711
>>9238812
It worked like back in 2003 or whenever that first skirt tutorial was posted because they had much less poof in old school outfits.
>>9238414
i really want to touch the fabric of this dress, it looks so buttery smooth.
does anyone know what she used?
>>9239087
Its crepe. It's actually not all that lovely to the touch but the drape is absolutely fabulous.
>>9236971
I actually agree. A lot of work went into them but the end product looks awkward to me. It is too historical to look like it's referencing street fashion but not historical enough to be historical. Unpopular opinion I guess, but it doesn't really work for me and I'd like to see her do actual historical if her skills are up to it.
>>9239314
the reee thing is just something that one particular seagull had been using. in every. fucking. post.
>yes im triggered
>>9236757
This dress is just so charming I love it
Ugh
>>9240055
That just looks like a pattern for a cosplay of Ciel Phantomhive, not really 'Lolita'.
>>9240055
Old news
>>9239981
It's also a Jojo thing, and apparently a Pepe thing too. Chill anon, it's a common meme, it's not all about you.
>>9240669
> a jojo thing
I though it was just the sound of wrathful cat
