No circle lens thread? Lenses thread
Show me all the cool sfx lenses you're getting for Halloween
Speaking of which, I placed an order for one pair of Phantasee mini scleras from Uniqso on September 9th and they haven't arrived yet, website said 15-20 days, at what point should I get concerned?
>>
If they don't arrive by next week I would contact them.

Deets on these lenses (or anything similar that can handle a high prescription)
>>
Worth it getting prescription scleras or should I save my buck and get planos and just wear glasses on top?
>>
>>9227570
Get the prescription. With scleras, you want them to fit your eye the best you can

OP here. My contacts arrived. They're Phantasee's "Ravenous", 17mm mini scleras. I've never ever seen a photo of them IRL or a review, only stock photos, so I'll post some. I was sort of reluctant to settle for these but were the only red mini scleras I could find from a reputable place that weren't over $100 per lens. Here they are in the vial. I'm going to soak them for 24 hrs, take a photo of them in the case, and when they're ready, show them on my eyes.
Also I've never worn anything above 14.8, is there really that much a difference with 17mm other than breathability?
>>
>>9227570
I think prescription scleras are worth $300 almost last time I checked...how much would it be now? It's better to get prescription but it's good to save money. Depends if you can go without glasses for a considerable period of time or not, but in the end it's up to you.
>>
>>9227551

i'd love the deets on these as well for ahri and shinobu

Got Vassen Dolly+ in brown for my comm's Halloween tea party meetup. They're pretty yellow-brown/golden brown on my eyes, like the stock photo. No idea what they'd be like on lighter eyes. Photos are direct sunlight/natural light inside, apologies for my general lack of grooming in the photos.
Only issue is that my left eye wasn't super comfortable when I first put the contact in but I suspect that's me rather than the lenses since there's nothing obviously wrong with the lens and the right eye is fine. Gonna soak them for another 24hrs and then try again.
>>
>>9229612
I'd like to add an update:
I had a lot of trouble getting these out of my eyes, I've worn circle lenses before and never had an issue with the pinch method but it took me a while to get these out
>>
>>9229612
>>9229858
thanks for the review!
>>
I've always been curious about trying circle lenses, but I've read a lot of doctors say they're not safe to use and can cause glaucoma. Has anyone ever had issues with their lenses/advice to give about safety concerns?
>>
>>9230213
Be smart. If it's hurting you, take it out, keep it clean, don't wear it past the expiry date. Otherwise you should be fine provided you buy from a well-known seller.
>>
What are the most comfortable and least comfortable lenses everyone has worn?
For me:
Most comfortable: Geo Princess Mimi (in apple green)
Least comfortable: EOS Dolly Eye (in gray.) Super dry and uncomfortable and had to constantly re-wet and still not good
>>
Aside from safe sellers/logic, how do you buy your first pair? I heard you have to get your eye measured?
>>
>>9230825
If you looked in the archives you'd find the info but w/e
Go to optician, find out if you have a stigmatism, if you do youll need expensive specialist lenses, if not you just ask for your base curve then you're ready
They normally give you your base curve and you can go .1 either way but exact or .1 above is comfier
.1 below is quite tight feeling

Ordering my first lenses through Pinky Paradise, and the shipping situation is confusing me a bit.

My order listing gives a "null" for the shipper, and they list to a multitude of different shipping services. I tried them all, and USPS says a package with that number just left Germany today. I'm in the United States, and I'm confused.

I suppose this is the downside of going with the cheapest and slowest option. Are there any sellers that have better shipping deals?
>>
>>9232498
They have a warehouse in Germany or something. That's where all of my orders have started out from. (I'm also in the US.)
>>
>>9232475
I soaked them for another couple days and put them in again yesterday evening for a few hours - I still get the odd feeling of foreign body in my left eye, but not as bad as when I first put them in. I suspect the fit might be not so good on that eye because of my astigmatism but I think I'll be okay for a couple hours at a tea party.

>>9230213
Um wut. Why would they cause glaucoma? Corneal issues can definitely happen from poor fit and poor hygiene but glaucoma is to do with eye pressure, not the outside of the eye. My understanding is that being short sighted is the risk factor for glaucoma and whether or not you wear contacts or glasses for your short-sightedness has nothing to do with it.
My advice would be actually see an optician and talk to them about it rather than relying on dodgy internet sources - I would even take my own advice with a grain of salt seeing as it's anon. You should get your eyes checked to make sure you have no eye health issues prior to wearing contacts and also to get an idea of the appropriate base curve for your lens purchase. In a perfect world you'd be able to go back to your optician afterwards to get the fit of the lens on your eye checked but most people don't bother with that and wear their lenses based on comfort and common sense.
>>
>>9229612
thanks anon, I wonder how they look from more far away, because the pattern seem pretty detailed
>>
>>9232376
Ew, wtf. How dumb can she be?
>>
n00b here. I've seen loads of articles over the past few days about how "novelty" contact lenses will fuck your eyes. How true is this? Or is it media exaggeration?
>>
>>9236457
ofc if you buy novelty ones
if you buy professional costuming or fashion ones they most likely won't do anything to you
>>
>>9236200
I think they'll look pink-ish from far away? Not sure. I'll try to take better photos on Halloween itself
>>
>>9236461
The ones I was looking at had all the "FDA / EU approved" BS on them, but I wasn't sure if these were the same shit that the articles were talking about.
>>
Yo from a person who doesn't know jack about contacts and is poor, do I absolutely have to get a prescription/ get my base curve?? If I can't get that, what can I do??
>>
>>9236744
Run the risk of severely damaging your eyes
>>
>>9236457
any contact lenses can fuck your eyes. Literally any, even the ones your doctor gives you. You can end up with a defective pair and it will scratch your eye (luckily it's usually obvious when a lens is defective), or if you're dirty or handle the lenses improperly.

Do your research, basically
>>
>>9236744
you should go get your BC. Usually 8.6 is good for everyone but if your BC is something like 8.4 you'll need to know and avoid anything over than 8.6 - if your BC is under 8.4 you really can't wear circles
>>
>>9236761
Alright thank you!
And it's probably kind of a stupid question, but is there a way to find that out without having to see an optometrist?
>>
>>9236827
Nope, y'all gotta be measured by an optometrist. I didn't start wear circle lenses until years after I started wearing regular contacts. Basically you have to go to the eye doctor and request to be fitted for the color contact brands they have there to find out all your measurements. If you get lucky and don't have astigmatism you can look at your prescription sheet or the base curve labeled in the boxes to find out. The reason circle lenses have a bad reputation is because the majority of the people who bought and wore them never went to the eye doctor and got fitted. They just went online willy-nilly and put the lenses in their eyes without even knowing contact lens care basics.
>>
>mixed race, but lightskin

>brighter blue contacts highlight my non-white features making me just look like an ugly white person rather than a pretty black one

I just joined the preorders for these two lenses from 19ninety-six. They're both from the brand Bella-Eye. The ones on the left are the Elves 3 Tone series and the ones on the right are the Berry Jam series. Their diameters are both 14.5mm. I wanted a lens with a brown limbal ring and honey tones. It's my first time ordering this brand and from 19ninety-six.

I can review them when they come in if anyone is interested. My eyes are naturally dark brown.

Omg these lenses were so deceiving. I put them on thinking they would do nothing for my eye color and boy was a wrong. These cannot be worn without make up. Pic related, please excuse my lack of make up and horrible dark circles.
>>
>>9240862
Those are cool. They look like they aren't weighted though, like they're rotating on your eye. Is that the case?
>>
>>9240876
Yeah, they sort of drift upwards when I blink. It's weird because I don't have astigmatism and usually the lens drift happens when the base curve is off.
>>
>>9240862
Is yellow and pink the only colors for this pattern ?
>>
This may be a silly question, but recently a pair on lenses I need for a costume expired. Only by a couple of weeks though. I need them for this weekend and the next and I have hardly really worn them. (Maybe like 2 times in the past year). Do you guys think I should risk it and wear them or just use a pair I have that are already in date (but inaccurate for the cosplay).
>>
>>9237830
http://uniquelenses.co.uk/Love-Heart-Contact-Lenses This website have them but I never use it so I'm not sure of is quality.

If you know how to use japanese web site : https://cecil.cc/item_detail.php?ino=doki2-brw&dr=0

I also find this one in the same style : http://www.pplens.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=191

The main problem with those type of lens is that they are rare so only weird/ not sure of the quality sell them ( except cecil, this brand is ok )
>>
>>9240882
Maybe the material means the base curve is a bit off? I was told by my optom that different materials have different degrees of stiffness so base curve can mean different things in different lens materials.

>>9241235
You've had them out for a year AND they've expired AND you want to wear them? No-one is going to say that's a good idea, the likelihood of something massively horrible happening to your eyes is probably not that high (most likely things are conjunctivitis and corneal abrasion which you are likely to feel) but why risk your one pair of eyes for the sake of a single costume?

I think they're the "Aegis Yellow Gold" contacts from JAIL / Harukaze Wigs. I've used them before & they're actually as bright and opaque as you see in the stock pic.

Their English web shop carries monthly lenses in powers up to -6.50, but if you can bother with a proxy, the Japanese store front carries 5-packs of dailies (up to -8.00) for a similar price.

What do you think of korean circle lenses? I was looking for some vibrant ones, unfortunately, most of them don't seem to be 100% safe. For instance, Uniqso has wide sortiment of beautiful vibrant colored lenses, but according to this review, they can turn out to be quite harmful for your eyesight.

https://apeanutbutterfiend.wordpress.com/2016/01/04/almost-blind-from-uniqso-contacts/
>>
>>9252024
all of these lenses are Korean or Malaysian and none of them are 100% safe. uniqso gets them from the same suppliers as any site.
>>
>>9232280
To clarify on the astigmatism: to get perfect vision, you need specialist lenses. For daily wear clear contacts, you absolutely want this, but for circle lenses I've never had a problem just getting my plain prescription without astigmatism correction. As far as I know this is completely safe-- for a while I had regular contact lenses because the toric ones were too uncomfortable, and my doctor also wrote me for reading glasses just to accomodate my astigmatism. Your vision won't be as good, but it won't hurt your eyes.

.1 below can be tight feeling depending on the brand. I'm 8.7 and I've never had a problem with super pinky dolly eye contacts in 8.6, but some other brands are way too uncomfortable to wear.
>>
>>9241235
I've done it. They were kind of uncomfortable, but my eyes were fine. Do it at your own risk, because your eyes may not be fine-- like other anon said you run the risk of corneal abrasion.
>>
>>9243806
Some things to check.
- Is it the same pair of contacts every time? Some are just really uncomfortable on certain people's eyes.
- Is your base curve correct?
- Are you sure they're not inside out?
- Did you wash your hands beforehand, and rinse the contacts?
- Are you giving them time to settle? Mine always make my eyes freak out for the first minute, then I can't even feel them.

Can't say much about comfort at this stage as I've only worn them for an hour, but no prickling or anything and they were easy to put in

Anyone know how these lenses look on light brown eyes?
They look yellow in the picture, but on the model they look brown, but on some of the review pictures they look yellow, but they're called brown, so I'm really confused...
>>
>>9252648
Up close they're pretty stark and honey colored. From farther away and in dimmer light they look more brown. That's just the nature of gold lenses - unless you're getting something that's super opaque and unrealistic it's going to fade to brown in some light.

Don't reference the model - there's tons of example photos on different sellers' sites.

>>9252745
you know buying from uniqso and buying from pinky paradise, honeycolor, etc. is the same, right? They use the same suppliers.
>>
>>9252024
Could someone who read this summerize this to me? I'm too lazy to read it if it's just gonna turn out to be "my eyes hurt a lot but I thought it was ok but it wasn't", because I'm so tired of people not taking lenses out when they hurt and acting like lenses are the most dangerous thing in the universe

Also, never bought from uniqso anyways since they rely a lot on sponsors like Anzu, and I personally think that's kinda unprofessional (and I really dislike Anzo)
>>
>>9252772
It's a painful experience of one girl, who did this sponsorship thing with Uniqso (I don't really know how it works). The scariest part of this story is that Uniqso told this girl to cut the defect lenses into half (and she was dumb enough to do so), so at the end she couldn't bring them to her optometrist to review.Overall The communication with this company was shitty, and the girl ended up with cornea abrasion and $150 bill for the medical expenses.

>>
Beforehand every panics about circle lenses: just realize that the mass majority of people who buy and wear circle lenses do not run into defective lenses. There will be defective lenses out there. Ways to combat eye damage is to inspect the lenses rigorously before putting into your eyes and to follow your gut feeling. If you have any doubts in wether a lens is safe or something feels off about it, don't wear it and re-order. You might lose your money but 30 bucks is much less valuable than your eye health.

No problem. They're a good option as far as golds go, so long as you're okay with how opaque the design is. The other gold I like is moe moe brown, but again you'll probably have a similar issue where they look gold up close but can look brown in darker light.
>>
>>9253233
That and people often fail to realize that these sites are shipping out the same brands like EOS, GEO, etc. Assuming they aren't selling fakes, buying a brand/style from Pinky Paradise is the same as buying it from Honeycolor - you're just choosing a supplier based on their shipping, price, and customer service. I know people who've received defective lenses from Pinky Paradise too, and it all just boils down to the site's willingness to replace them. It sucks that girl had such a bad experience, especially since I remember someone mentioning in one of these threads that Uniqso replaced their problem order immediately.

That being said, this is the second scarepost that uses the exact same "but according to this review, they can turn out to be quite harmful for your eyesight" language:

I've kinda lost my passion for cosplay, 'cause my eyes have become so dry wearing contact lenses feels like torture after just 15 minutes and thinner, "natural" contacts get stuck in my eyes.. Has anyone had similar experiences? I think this might be because of my contraception pill, sice the dryness of my eyes started about the same time I got on the pill. I've tried the strongest pharmacy eyedrops, but nothing has worked. I don't think I would quit the pill, since it makes my periods from hell actually bearable, so I was hoping someone might have another solution..? I'm getting really desperate here..
>>
>>9255122
Oh yeah, and I've tried really hydrating one day lenses, but those got stuck in my eyes the second I put them in..

Still, I would prefer some more natural lenses, like Vassen cloud nine violet.
>>
>>9255122
Have you gotten your base curve checked?
>>
>>9257086
I haven't, but I had no issues with wearing circle lenses like 4 years ago, which was before I got on the pill. So I don't think that's causing the problem. My eyes are very dry outside of wearing lenses too, so I'm pretty sure the dryness is the cause of my problem with lenses.
>>
>>9257681
Try getting your eyes checked by an eye doctor, he can also recommend you the right type of eye drops suited for your eyes. It can be a huge life improvement, trust me.

I'm looking for lenses for a Blood Elf cosplay and I used EOS Dolly ones previously. I'm wanting something similar to the EOS Bubble Green because I like the "glowy" effect. However, they don't cover enough of my iris and the centre looks weird because I have very dark brown eyes. Does anyone know of any similar lenses?

I also got severe dry-eye from medications. I've had luck with this brand of eye drops:

I have a problem with Girl's eyes, pic related. I want to cosplay the nanchatte version of her from the vid and I know you can do a lot just with makeup and maybe photoshop the eyes later but are there any lenses that come even close to this effect?

I've tried to search circle lenses that have a mix of cyan and violet but haven't found any. Obviously there aren't any lenses that look exactly like that but if I could just find the colour combo at least.
>>
>>9263082
Well you're obviously never going to get violet pupils, and there are no cyan lenses I know of with a violet limbal ring. Your best bet is to find cyan lenses with a black, defined limbal ring. Given that the linework is done in violet as well it wouldn't be a stretch of the imagination to interpret it as black.
>>
>>9263082
If you have the money, you can get them custom. I don't think you'd want to put that much effort in it though for a single costume.
>>
If you have 200-400 dollars to drop, you could get custom lenses.

>>
>>9236457
I'd say it's mostly media exaggeration. I have really good eyes and I've used numerous costume contacts, never had a problem. I think the biggest issue is people not doing research to buy good quality lenses and idiots not knowing how to clean/take out/dispose of contacts.
Basically: know what you're doing before putting shit in your fucking eyeballs.
>>
>>9266443
No. You're going to need to go to the doctor to get a measurement that you're not going to be able to get anywhere else. Why the fuck would you want to cheap out on something you're going to put onto one of the most sensitive parts of your body?

Why are poorfags like this?
>>
>>9266454
Fair enough, but with contacts, you absolutely have to go to a doctor. Just tell them you want your eyes measured and it'll be a quick in-and-out trip.
>>
>>9266452
I've noticed this trend
You want to pay for the contacts, pieces of flexible plastic that you stick on your fucking eye, but don't want to pay to go and see a doctor to make sure you get the right size?? How stupid can you possibly be baka

Wearing lenses with the wrong measurements can be really fucking dangerous. Do you want to risk scratching your eye? Do you want to risk going blind? I'm pretty sure you don't. It's one hour out of your day and yiu could actually learn something (example: I learned I'm EXTREMELY prone to retinal detachment).

I've always wanted a pair very similar to my eye color, and this pair seems perfect (also in pic related):

The problem is, I have moderate astigmatism in my right eye (AXIS: 1.75) and extremely minor in my left eye (AXIS: .05).
I've read up on toric lenses, but I wear prescription glasses.
Therefore, I don't want/need prescription circle lenses to correct any issue with my eyes since I prefer wearing glasses.

What difference does non prescription toric make on your eyes with moderate astigmatism?
I know they're weighted, but do I really need them? Will plano be THAT uncomfortable?
>>
Bumping this again. >>9268571

you'll be fine, I have a moderate astigmatism in both eyes and I never use toric lenses. They tend to be slightly uncomfortable after extended use, but I use them several days a week. If you're just using them occasionally for cosplay or whatever there should be no issue

Is wearing non-toric lenses really so bad if you have astigmatism? I wear regular prescription contacts from the drug store occasionally and it's caused no problems for me at all. I understand if you're wearing them full time but circle lenses aren't like that anyway. Toric lenses are painfully expensive and the selection is extremely limited.

Brands of care products vary between countries, as things like lens solution brands are rarely international. Look for what's available in your country stores and Google them to see if any product reviews exist for ones you found.
First time lens buyers will need the following:
- lens solution ( for cleaning & storing in lens case with there exist dual purpose ones, just read the labels)
- some lens cases ( reccomend to not use the same one longer than 3 months)
- optional* a lens cleaner , can do by hand by gently rubbing them with solution or can use a device to do it for you
- optional* travel case sets (if you intend to travel with leness these can be useful as they have little bottle for carrying solution along with your lenses and things like lens tweezers/ applicators all in one travel box)
-optional* lens tweezers / applicators -not entirely necessary, however some people find them handy and prefer to use them rather than touch their lenses with their fingers all the time

In the end, there is not much you *need* to have, only about 3 things are really necessary , the rest are all up to preference of what you personally will need and prefer to use which you will figure out over time.

Hey everyone, bumping to update about my 19ninety-six order.

Pic related is how my I-DOL Queen series in europe blue look like compared to my normal eye color (brown). No enlargement, but I've never worn a more convincing and natural looking blue contact before so I'm pleased with the effect! At first I thought I was ripped off because the lenses look really underwhelming and grainy in the case, but once you pop them in they're amazing. Sorry for potato quality but it just goes to show how great these lenses are for color, I didn't touch the color on the photo. The ones by Bella Eye are probably the same quality if you didn't know which brand to go with, it's up to you.

I'll update you with a better quality picture of my Danna Rainbow pinks once I get some more natural light. I also have Eye-Wish Muse series in chocolate if anyone would like better pictures of that one.

That happened to my order. Supposedly it shipped 12/9 but after tracking kicked in, it was just sitting in Germany and only today did the status change from "Accepted" to being shown in Frankfurt as "processed through facility". The tracking indicates the parcel originated from Germany... so what's the deal are they still in Malaysia or what.

Whatever, I won't order from them again because of the verification requirement now, which will not fly with my optometrist, and because their payment system was a complete shitfest to use. Once I get my parcel, I'll be happier, but I can't believe it just sat there for so long, it wasn't even near Christmas and while I expected slower shipping, I didn't expect it to sit.

Many optometrists will still be cunts when it comes to domestic third-party companies. I get my glasses from Warby Parker, and my old eye doctor kept on trying to dissuade me from getting a copy of prescription because he wanted me to buy his frames over "those cheap Chinese ones".

I switched to a local chain that gave me an exam and script no problem, but shit started to hit the fan when I began ordering contacts online. Apparently your script has to specify the exact lens, down to the color options, and if it doesn't, the retailer will contact your doctor to verify that everything is okay. My transactions were fine the first two times, but after that they refused to verify any more refills. (Spoilers, I was saving 50% on my lenses by shopping online.)

It's because of bullshit like this that I decided to go for circle lenses, actually. I do think that everyone should get an eye exam before being able to buy contacts, but if you have healthy eyes with minor correction needs, you shouldn't have to be held hostage by your doctor because you want lenses in purple instead of grey.

About PinkyParadise now needing prescriptions.

Does this only apply to people who get them in prescription strength? I don't need contacts and only use them for cosmetic reasons, so I get plano. I would think it would be hard for me to get a prescription when I actually don't need contacts.

Just got my lenses yesterday. So shipping took exactly one calendar month 12/9/16 - 1/9/17... most of which was just the parcel sitting in Germany. Most of the Taobao items I order arrive in like 2 weeks from China. Europe is even closer so I was quite surprised it took this long and the date I wanted them for has passed- oh well, I'll save them for next time.

For an extra twist of confusion, the envelope has a pre-printed return address of Malaysia on one side, but on the actual shipping info label side, it says if the parcel cannot be delivered to return it to Niedaraula which is about an hour from Frankfurt where my parcel was marked as "originating". Even if US residents were able to still order from PP, I certainly would not. What a cluster. Hope your lenses arrive soon, anon.

i'm not sure which part accounts for the astigmatism so i'll just give you the whole thing:
prescription is -4.75, cyl is -.75 and axis 170.
It can be hit or miss though, some lenses won't fit but pretty much all Geo lenses work and I've heard from other people with astigmatism that Geo usually work as well. I go up to -5 to make up for the lenses not being toric
>>
>>9317510
Cyl and Axis measurements are for astigmatism. That said, -0.75 is not horrible which is why you can get away with using -5.00 spherical lenses and have decent vision.

>>9315638
+3.00, are you far sighted with astigmatism or did you mean that to be -3.00 for the cyl measurement?

I feel your pain, astigmatism anons. My prescription looks so absurd. L: -0.25 x -4.75 x 10 | R: +0.25 x -4.75 x 175
Certainly not the worst, but no way I can get away with buying spherical lenses for vision correction or toric circle lenses. I just buy plano colors and wear my glasses for navigation or wear my clear prescription lenses.

K y'all so I want geo black magic lenses because they seem like the realist looking lenses I can find for black-brown eyes.

My optometrist is willing to okay circle lenses.

I went to a nice lenses place in Chinatown and the man there said that my eyes are already very large and so the effects aren't really gonna be worth it but honestly I just want them bigger.

Before I go out through all this trouble with pinkyparadise and their long ass delivery time would anyone recommend something to make my eyes bigger but natural?
>>
>>9319587
I'm not sure if I understand correctly, but are you asking for a way to make your eyes look bigger without lenses?
If so, makeup will make your eyes look much bigger than they are, but if you're gonna cosplay heavy makeup will be no option. A little makeup goes a long way though.
>>
>>9319637
No I mean a natural looking contacts that's not Dolleye big. Ones I can wear daily and people not freak out you know?

Makeup isn't something I'm really interested in beyond tightlining my upper lid.
>>
Has anyone personally used Desio lenses? I am curious to hear feedback about them, the colors look amazing but my eyes are really dark brown and the pics I see on Instagram etc. are filtered as fuck so I don't know if those are accurate representations or the girls are wearing so much makeup that the photos are taken far away to emphasize the makeup rather than the lenses.

I'm basically interested in how Innocent White and Desert Dream lenses would actually look on dark brown eyes as well as overall comfort etc. of the lenses, shipping issues(?), etc. Any help?

Well, your eyes are huge, but your irises are pretty small in comparison.
But I'm guessing you mean irises, because if you're talking about your eyes then lenses obviously wont change the size of that

I have a grey pair by Bella Eye (they're actually caled "pale", which are supposedly slightly brighter than the grey) and while they are really natural and loads of people thought it was my natural eye color, they aren't nearly as vivid as the ones in your pic, imo. I would recommend going a shade lighter if you want a true pale-gray lens. The camera I took that older picture with was from my old phone and the specs were pretty potato. I have a better quality cam and I'll post the pic shortly in natural light.

Pic related is my Danna pink in natural light.
I'm really disappointed with the color. Like this photo has a touch of contrast even and you can't even tell there's anything on my eye. I didn't bother doing low-light/yellow light for this lens because it basically just looks like my natural eye color.

I'm sure it would look swell on light eyes, but it does nothing for dark.

Another thing that might annoy people is that these lenses are really foldy/squishy for some reason. It makes them really hard to put in, but also hard to tell if you've got them inside out (plano) until it's in your eye and it feels weird.
For the money I really don't like them.

>>

>>
>>9340629
Couldn't you go in and ask to be fitted for colored contacts? Those are available in planos but you still would need a prescription for them. Also, some doctors can fit you for things such as special effects lenses(think ones that are used on movie sets).

I have a stupid question for fellow astigmatism anons. I've never worn circle lenses before and really want to give it a try, however I'm slightly hesitant on dropping fiddy+ dorra on something that might end up looking stupid on me. I'm looking for very natural enlarging brown contacts, natural enough that people will just assume I have large irises and don't get all up in my face to figure out what's up with my eyes.

My prescription is R: 0.00 cyl -1.75 axis 100 / L: -1.00 cyl -1.75 axis 90
Is there a way for me to get away with trying non-torics to see how a certain type of lens looks on me, or would those just completely not fit and be a waste of money?
>>
I've worn lenses before, but I'd just like to check the general consensus again. How long should I wear lenses? I know the majority say 6-8 hours max but I'd like to wear some to the later events too (like 10-1am if there's good panels/dances).
So obviously you can see how people spend more than 8 hours at a con. Is it ok to wear them for long periods of time a few times a year?
Would taking them out and letting my eyes rest for an hour or two and then put them back on for a few hours work or should I just let my eyes breathe? I'm planning on getting out of cosplay and into a costume, but nothing character specific so maybe lenses wouldn't matter at that point? I just really love the look of lenses but also don't want to damage my eyes.
TL;DR: how long can you wear lenses consecutively? And if I take an hour break can I wear them again for a little longer?
>>
>>9342055
Just order ones with the smaller diameters, most sites will let you filter by diameter. You'd want probably no bigger than 14.2mm
>>
>>9342080
I take my lenses out for three hours and just chill around the con put then back in again. I got 12 hours of wear for that day with minimal redness. But I had to not wear my lenses the next day. Basically I always plan a cosplay that doesn't require me to wear contacts so the day after I wear circle lenses for my cosplay I can give my eyes a break.
>>
>>9342080
The main issue is that your eyes get strained from contacts. How long I find depends on your eyes, quality of contacts and environment. I don't think taking an hour break helps since you are touching your eyes and need to give the contacts a doodling between usage. Best to just take them off when it starts getting bad and wear glasses. Especially if you aren't doing cosplay at night.
>>
>>9342092
I've been looking at Neo Dali Brown and Neo Dali Extra Brown because according to reviews those look pretty natural. They also come in toric and non-toric versions so I figured that if I'm going to need toric after all, I won't have to start my search all over again.
>>
>>9342153
if you order Neo lenses in toric be careful, they tend to have issues. Also don't use honeycolor if you go for toric, they one time sent me a pair of very clearly non-toric lenses when I had ordered toric and dropped all communication with me to the point of blocking me on social media. It was those exact lenses, the neo dali extra brown toric

>>
i have problems to get my contact lenses into the eyes. They are so soft and my eyes blink to hard if i get my finger close to my eyes is there any solution to my problem.
>>
>>9342080
Hm, I totally get your desire to have cool lenses in all day but I suggest following what your eyes tell you. I typically plan one cosplay a day that needs colored lenses, then either wear my normal lenses or glasses the rest of the time. I usually have a 3-4 hour block at least without lenses in as well. That said, if your late-night chilling is just panels/dances, your eyes are not going to be much of a focus so I wouldn't think the need for lenses is as great(?) Even less so if you are going to consume alcohol because it basically starts to dehydrate your eyes and will make wearing lenses super uncomfortable. Really though, do what your eyes are comfortable with.

>>9345066
Practice, practice, practice. A lot of people newer to lenses are just freaked out by putting their finger near their eyes. Don't touch your eyes, but you can get used to fingers being close by simply putting them near your eyes until you get used to it. When applying the lens, try adding a drop of saline/rewetting drops/ any non-peroxide lens solution into the lens, look upward, and let the liquid in the lens sort of help suction it onto the surface of your eye. Pressing the lens onto the surface of the eye will make it harder to apply them.

>>
>>9347557
Depends on your astigmatism. Mild is fine, a moderate or extreme one is going to be tough. The rule of thumb I'd heard is you vary your BC by around 1 but beyond that you'll have a tough time (my BC is 8.5-8.6ish and I can't wear 8.8 lenses at all).

They are yearly prescriptions. I opened them in May 2016 and haven't worn them since. However, I clean them and change the solution every month.
Would they still be safe to wear? Also if you do wear circle lenses pretty regularly would you get new ones every month or the yearly ones still okay? Thanks

I would change solution every week, but you can try putting them in. If they cause discomfort, remove them immediately. I usually only get 8 or 9 months of comfortable wear out of my lenses unless they are 42% water content.

Hello! I need a little help finding some good green cat eye lenses. I think my biggest concern is finding a weighted/balanced pair that won't spin around in my eye. But at the same time, I'd really prefer if it had powers available, too. I know honeycolor and uniqso sell some cat eye lenses, but it seems like none of them are weighted (except: http://www.uniqso.com/crazy-halloween-anime-lenses/crazy-halloween-lenses/colorvue-crazy-cat-s-eyes?sort=rating&order=DESC but it's yellow and doesn't have any power options). Does anyone know of any other trustworthy sites that sell some? I think I can probably manage going without the power if I can't find any that are both weighted and have a power option, but I mostly don't want to have to readjust my lenses throughout the day in cosplay. Thanks!
