In fact, that's why guro is so strictly banned. I see a couple threads asking about the 'glory days' and all I remember is the shit posting was graphic.

I love shopping in malls when I get the chance. There is always a plethora of accessories to be found. I have to go online though because I don't have a car and the nearest malls are 1 - 2 hours away. The town I live in isn't terribly small, but strictly maintains this 'quirky local feel'.

I noticed menherabusu has all three thigh high designs restocked in the past week or so. I won't be purchasing anything else until after Christmas.

Oh, thank you for that info! I'm pretty new at shopping online. This past month was the first time in 6 years (really ever) I've been able to buy nice clothes. I had to buy lots of basics such as skirts this go-around. In a few months, I'll be looking forward to doing some shopping outside U.S./U.K. brands. Needless to say I'm not familiar with how everything works.

Macklemore made a song about thrift shopping yet Goodwill gets tiresome when it's the only option for 6 years.

No, the reason why she has this long twintails hairstyle with hime cut is because it is popular, they even call it "menhera cut" on twitter because its common for girls that have some complex, probably because it hides the face's shape.

Word of warning, CDJapan will charge your card weeks after the product has already arrived in the mail.

I accidentally overdrafted my partner's card. I had assumed the transaction went through as the product had already arrived on the 3rd. I found out they didn't actually charge the card until the 17th. If you prefer to keep money in a savings account as opposed to a checking account, be wary to wait for the transaction to process.

He came home bitching about international accounts overdrafting his account.

I'm not the best at makeup. I'm stating that in the name of honesty. However, Palladio makes a matte collection of eyeshadows and one of them you might find of interest.

It's the Soiree shade. It has an orange/red color and a slightly lighter pastel tone. I use it for a 'sickly' look when I'm feeling it.

Your skin tone will determine if it works for you.

So, I found this vest/shirt in a shop for £2 so I obviously had to buy it, but would there be any way of making this work in a menhera coord?

I was thinking of using a white pleated skirt, white thigh-highs and white converse, with a white vest under the top. However, I don't want it to look like a slutty nurse, and the top itself is very thin and very baggy.

Any ideas or should I just keep it around for a fun sleep-shirt?

If I'm a US small with long arms, could I get away with this hoodie in large?

There's this thing called a measurement chart that should help you with your question.

I'm also a US small also and kinda have longish arms, but I'm definitely thin.
Although I don't own that jacket in particular I typically fine I can fit into any of Aliexpress/Taobao one size items so I assume you'll be fine too.

So I got Listen Flavor's red Halloween long coffin shirt/dress in the mail today. It's really soft comfortable material and the sleeves are actually a proper length on me, but the ribbon sewn on the collar is really... Poorly done. Like it looks like their sewing machine's tension was all messed up and the ribbon is strained at parts. It's odd.

I would buy this sweater but the sleeves on the size small are only 20 inches long; all my fitting sweaters have 26-29 inch sleeves.

Luckily, most shirts are in unisex sizing. I think even Listen Flavor's Menhera-chan tunic features a male model in the black version.

I guess you could wear any color of pants that compliments pastel colors. Black is an easy choice for many outfits, obviously.

Demonia and some other brands actually make unisex shoes, some which might be good for when you are feeling something other than sneakers. Jackets can be pretty plain I guess.

You don't have to wear a lot of accessories, but feel free to pick any necklaces or bracelets.

(Spiked collars. I like the buckle closure ones. I wear them loose, but 14-17 inch collars are perfect for most guys. It's usually the L size.)

Oh... shops.

Unisex shirts in the United States can be found easily from Cherry Cheezy and Omo-cat. I like some of Killstar and Kawaii Machine's art. If you want to try finding something that fits in Listen Flavor's line, TOM and CDJapan stock it as well as LF's rakuten shop. Redbubble has a couple items here or there as does designsbyhumans.

Everything else I can think of seems to be offered in women's fits. Pants can be found anywhere. Funkier pants can be found second hand in the women's sections. Try before you buy.

Otherwise, you'll have to go through a shopping or proxy service. Other anons may know more.

>genres are only defined by their most popular examples.
Genres are never straightforward and one sound. It obviously has influences from screamo and metalcore, maybe even nu-metal. Listen to the riffs from the guitars. Also the very layout of the song is very much like a lot of other bands that teeter between metalcore and screamo.
>Singing intro with simple riffs and light drumming. Singing is focus.
>drumming speeds up in a few beats
>beat of some extra sound
>screaming
>instrumental
>singing into chorus
>screaming right after chorus
>repeat

Dir en grey, Maximum the Hormone and ones with that sound are metal (in the more heavy traditional sense).

And if it matters, in medicine they hold the syringe needle up, tap it, and I think slightly depress the top to remove air bubbles from the interior once filled. In America, 18 is considered 'young adult'.

You only get the moniker 'teen' at 18 and 19 if you are starring in porn. 18 you can start buying cigarettes and adult merchandise.

Idol.theshop.jp ships worldwide. I'm not quite sure how it goes ordering from them, but they definitely ship worldwide direct from the webstore. I think they offer free shipping worldwide over 20,000 yen, but I can't be for sure.

Killstar ships within Europe. In fact, international orders anywhere are free over 200$. They have a limited selection, mostly pastel goth and occult.

KawaiiKave is based in the U.K. They aren't specifically menhera, but get products that can work.

If I see any others, I'll let you know.

I do hear about the drama even if I don't have an account.

It's very silly. People pick a bone with Japanese fashion when Rob Zombie just came out with a movie in which a murderous character is named 'Schizohead'. If a person allies with racist values, particularly in relation to a certain presidential campaign, many will be quick to instantly label the person 'mentally deranged' or 'ill'. Anyone dealing with psychosis has to deal with the association of violent behaviour toward others even if in reality... they might be a catatonic. There's more situations, but you get the picture.

And this fashion is apparently offensive.

As far as if it is/isn't about mental illness. A person can use it as cathartic outlet, but they don't have to be ill to wear it. People who are not mentally ill experience negative thoughts, sadness, heartbreak, loneliness, and all those bad emotions. I suppose a cute picture themed around Xanax is definitely 'menhera', but so is a cute picture themed around heartbreak.

I think there are a lot of problems that need to be dealt with in society's portrayal of mental health and illnesses. As far as menhera goes, I'm intrigued by it (I myself have OCD and PTSD), but on the other hand I do see how it is problematic too. Mainly, for me, that it seems to glorify being mentally ill. Mental illness imo shouldn't be glorified or demonized. The goal is to always get better, not to stay sick to be fashionable or to use people's real struggles as a fashion statement. Like, if someone with a mental illness wants to use the fashion to come to terms with it and accept their illness, fine. But some perfectly healthy tween who wears a coord about an illness they in no way can relate to so they pull from uninformed stereotypes? Nah. Don't make a mockery of people's strife.

(tl;dr In America, mental illness is either ugly or unseen.)

In America, mental illness is de facto ugly. Alternatively, it is suppose to go unseen. Anything that doesn't fit into these standards is seen as 'glorification'.

To not go into too much personal detail, I habitually go through periods where I kind of forget about hygiene and what's appropriate to wear in public. I do love fashion! I love dressing in fun fashion! Unfortunately, dressing up doesn't always happen. Anyhow, I have people on the days I dress up at the stores... in public, say, 'HEY! How are you? I've not seen you in ages, where you been?'

I'm always nice, but it's cracked me up for 5 years now living in this town because those same people saw me everyday last week.

They thought I was a different person, undoubtedly some crazy homeless person.

So, I like menhera because it reflects the opposite of that. That the beautiful people we see everyday, the people we admire, could be sad, heartbroken, depressed, or even mentally ill. It's sad that something 'looking pretty' means it's been glorified. What happened to 'tasteful'?
>>
>>9246782
Tumblr has already been degrading people's views of mental illness. It's 'trendy' to self diagnose yourself with PTSD and label yourself as an otherkin.

I think part of it depends how you react if someone asks you about it. I think outright denying it has anything to do with mental health is silly. I think it's important to respect what you're wearing represents something and that knowing that doesn't mean you can't wear it but maybe just think about it more carefully.

I have friends who I know would be bothered by depictions of self-harm/hanging (for good reasons) so I wouldn't chose to wear those images around them without checking beforehand. Since I'm more interested in yami kawaii than straight up menhera I'll probably just avoid them for now

I think being able to start conversations about mental health is important so I don't think discussions inspired by menhera should be shut down(key word: discussion, not someone being rude/abusive etc then probably best to ignore them).

I like being able to show how I feel whilst still being cute.

It's important to remember that menhera is about mental health and negativity. Mental illness is included, but not required. You can have an outfit that is 'menhera' without any motifs related to a mental illness.

Ezaki Bisuko has very dark, eccentric taste from my understanding. He also went to an extremely shitty school in a poor part of Tokyo(?) from what I grasped. It's very common for those from poor backgrounds to display a dark sense of humor.

His extremely graphic work is mostly limited to his art, not his apparel. I saw the picture of the bracelet by Conpeitou that Bisuko chose not to release. I respect him for choosing not to release it.

I agree that you can't wear a rave outfit with a syringe and call it 'menhera'. Though, you can choose a tutu/petticoat and platforms to work with menhera.

The overall appearance is very broad. You see pleated skirts, fluffy skirts, and not-so-fluffy skirts such as >>9229279 and a couple other pictures. There's large oversized shirts worn alone and slightly more fitted shirts worn with bottoms. You have both tights and thigh highs to pick from. Some people load on the accessories while others are very lowkey. Platforms, heels, and even sneakers are all acceptable footwear. One can choose to wear sailor collars or never ever wear the damn things. Pink pastel can be equally as applicable as black and red.

There's a lot of choices. Many outfits in menhera do not look at all the same.
