>Nishicon (October 7th - 9th, Almelo OV) is an anime convention which for the first time will be 3 days long.
>Imagicon (October 15th, Ede GLD) is a Cosplay, Sci-Fi, Horror and Fantasy con. They also have a cosplay compo.

Gotta love the OP images of the Dutch Thread.
>>
Also reposting the Nishicon schedule, now with the floor plan for both the artist and dealer rooms added to them for the sake of convenience.
>>
>>9204656
I was kind of worried Nishicon would be canceled, because of their non-communication and promotion. I am happy they have their program ready.

>>9204787
They have experience to organize and fill Nishicon, so to be honest I really expected more of this first timer 3-days-convention. So yeah, I am also thinking that Nishicon isn't really worth staying all weekend for. I expected some new events. I am happy they still have their CMV and Worst Cosplay Competition. But I expected more.

Thanks Anon, I try to do my best at keeping our OP images recognizable with Dutch things, Tully and all that jazz. In this case however >>9181587 deserves a proper shout-out for posting a picture of this postcard in the first place. All I did was turning it into a vectorized version (pic related).

Same here, although I still feel like they bit off more than they could chew on by going "three-day con" considering the lack of updates and the schedule they released. Then again that's easy for me to say considering I've never organised a big event or volunteered at a con.

even if it worked back in the day for Animecon, not all people that went to Animecon back in the day still cosplay or go to events (a lot still do, but yaknow, people get older and grow out of their hobbies...), there is an entire new generation of young cosplayers, so really they can't just expect Nishicon to be just as crowded as Animecon was

>>9205563
No idea, I left just before the cops showed up. According to a friend who was still there it was probably someone walking around or swinging a sword our in the open. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he is right or if someone got caught stealing something.
Guess we'll just have to wait for the mandatory TomoBrag post to be sure, like they did with the bouncy castle injury.

You can't argue with the fact that creepshots are, well, creepy... but you're still walking around in that costume at a convention (or whatever Tomofair really is) and I wonder how you even miss that.

Also memeing about that Overwatch bulge and at the same time getting triggered regarding Blazibutt is kind of hypocritical.
>>
>>9205822
Making fun of a guy showing off his dick doesn't equal to making creepshots from behind without the cosplayer noticing. Nice try on the guilt tripping, shithead.
>>
>>9205694

Why has the Blaziken butt been brought to my attention?
>>
>>9205842
If you wear something showing off "certain things" to a public convention you accept the fact that it likely ends up on pictures, my dear anon.

Whether it shows stuff off on purpose or not is completely irrelevant when it comes to that. You're also making assumptions about the guy "showing off" his dick (he might just be too dumb to know how to hide the bulge; who finds a flaccid dick silhouette attractive really?) and the girl being completely oblivious to her panties showing.
>>
>>9205532
>TomoCon

It's already a piss poor way to cover their asses but this probably makes it even worse
>>
>>9205864
Except in the case of Penis Buldge guy he was posing for a photoshoot while the Blaziken Panty shit was made in secret from behind.
Also I noticed that guy in front of her is taking her pic, I wonder if you are actually present in his shots...
>>
You know on one hand kermis is fun but on the other I really can't stand kermis workers. Even with the heavy increase of Pokemon plush on the Nijmegen kermis I really should've just bought those same bootlegs on Ali instead of bothering to waste my money. The red dot kuji are just as overpriced too.
In conclusion, don't be weak like me and don't bother with luck games gulls.

>Luck games
>Kermis
Hate to say this, but none of those games involve luck. The machines are rigged to only "pay out" after reaching a certain amount of incomes (think >400% profit) and tempt you to keep going by making you almost win every now and then. But at least you got to see the fireworks, right?

>>9205905
They already gave out flyers for TomoFair Amsterdam on January 7th. Let's hope they'll actually have some quality for all the unlucky souls who'll fall for the "it's nearby" meme...

>>9205913

>>
>>9205911
you just-- defined a luck game.
Every luck game has a 'pay out' bar in some way or another, be it a lottery, bingo or kermis game. What they are not is skill games.
Hitting that 1/30~100ish is literally luck.
>>
>>9205905
What I understood was that there would be an act and that was the surprise.

Actually with the best sold claw machine out there it's more about statistics rather than luck. Then again nobody in their right mind would actually monitor a machine to determine the right moment to step in and play by using a formula pulled straight from the instruction manual.

And now I'm wondering why I'm reading up on how claw machines work when I have to get up early tomorrow...

>>
>>9205956
You know I wasn't even referencing claw machines but yes, it's technically statistics. Except you know those 'mirrors' at the back of the machine, jokes on you those are the 1 sided see thru things and there's literally people watching you to not do statistics(if you don't believe me and are in Nijmegen go to the waal claws, you can see their heads just slightly while standing).
Neat bonus info: this is also the case with black jack in casino's. Card counting is a easy way to win so they only want dumb people to play.

What I was actually referencing was a 'game' called 'hartentroef': get 15 tickets if you get one of the 3 right colors you win(you get a prize card if you lose). They had cute pichu's plush so I was a fool and played two times and lost(it was more fun than claw machines tho desu).
I then watched instead and noticed that he /gave/ you a packet instead of letting you pick one(tho you can refuse and pick one yourself I guess). I watched and saw teenagers and small kids with moms win jack shit but then some kid in a wheelchair played and boom prize, and 15 minutes later another handicapped kid won. At least he was giving them a good time?? but it felt gross just watching him lie to the rest. I ended up giving my 2 prize cards to some mom with a kid so she had enough tickets for a pikachu.
>>

The cosplay is not consent poster is basically just this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcrtkiLEGbE

But no, really, I'm not defending the person taking the picture, because it's creepy, but if you don't want people to see your panties make sure they don't show. It would've most likely ended up on a picture (albeit unintendedly so) anyhow.

cosplay /=/ consent is going pretty far in terms of their policy, they had to put don't harasssomebody because of their 'gender, gender identity, gender presentation' plus some cosplayers find many things harassment.
I don't agree with the creepy butt pictures guy tho.
>>
>>9206702
I think I heard some people talking about that on the bus.
I thought they were discussing Tumblrisms or something.
Also there was a presentation?
>>
>>9206702
Does rolling my eyes count as harassment? Because I can't always control my expressions when someone starts telling me about how they identify as a space prince and their pronouns are star/stars/starself or whatever the fuck.

>>
>>9206867
no didn't see them, what kind of cosplay did they wear?
>>
>>9206702
That goes too far indeed, but that is exactly why I always think you should think in the middle with these things, and not extremely in one side or the other. But oh well, that's pretty much how I think with everything. Also sensitive topics like "Is this cosplay racist?". The world isn't black and white, it's shades of grey. (inb4 50 shades of grey lol)
>>
>>9206867
I guess that's what you get when you let people with little experience do these things.

That's wrong, tho. Anyone can photograph you without your permission, and you're probably being permanently recorded on dozens if not hundreds of security cams over the course of a convention on top of that.

Though the law might be different in Holland, I dunno.
>>
>>9207284
A con isn't a public space. Recording is freely allowed in public, but not necessarily private events.
>>
>>9207290
True, but every con I've been to always includes a disclaimer about how "you acknowledge you're in a public space and photographs and recordings may be taken of you".

Do they not have that in Holland?
>>
>>9207238
>>
>>9207290
It honestly highly varies on both con and location, but at least 50% of the time you'd be wrong. Anywhere you don't need permission or a badge to get into is a public space. Panel rooms? Definitely private. Vendor hall? Definitely. Main halls? Probably not. Again, depends on con.

Sound vortex was actually made/delivered by the guy who ran the karaoke. (Performous-NL). He also helps out at gamerooms and sometimes also works on the stage audio. He also made a DDR machine with selfmade pads for Kinjin! He's amazingly good at this kind of thing. I wouldn't be able to do it.

>birthday is January 6

Damn it Tomo. I already see my non-geeky friends giving me tickets for Tomofair as a birthday present, thinking they did me a favor because I go to cons all the time.
>>
>>9207243
>The use of the bouncy castle is at your own risk
>TomoCon (which should had seen TomoFair) holds no responsibility
This of course is their "solution" after an accident at their previous event, TomoCon, where some girl fell of the bouncy castle and landed on her head (or was it her back?). Before they could move her they had to fly in a doctor by trauma helicopter to make sure she didn't didn't her neck, which luckily enough for her she didn't.
It's also worth noting that TomoShit had no one monitoring the bouncy castle nor the "fatsuit sumo wrestling" at TomoFair and that that didn't had any mats placed around it. in other words, if you would fall off you would hit the pavement.

>>9207284
In the Netherlands we have portrait rights and a couple of other laws and regulations regarding this subject. Any pictures made of you may not be used without your permission due to portrait rights, with the only exception being for "public figures doing their job" (think politicians, sportsman, artists etc).
Security cameras also need to be made present using signs, and this includes police surveillance cameras. Private security cameras (in homes, offices, stores etc) may also not be recording anything that's off your property unless you have a permit.
Still, keep in mind that these laws (like many) are outdated and were made well before the rise of the internet, smart phones and affordable cameras.

>>9207395
All cons in the Netherlands (or at least the ones that I'm aware off) are held on private property. In fact pretty much the only public space you'll find here are the streets, parks, and certain playgrounds.

But yeah, even alternatief slapen has lots of empty beds left which is troublesome to say the least. Back during the Animecon days you really had to hurry if you wanted to stay there for dirt cheap...

hah, firstlook gives saterday sunday option but not entire weekend, nishicon gets entire weekend option but not sunday or saterday just "one day"

Using Viencon as a stand in name before an official name is one thing, but having your own name on a con is pretty cringe. I guess he didn't get the memo that cons with names like Matijscon and Jaapcon are meme names for meets. At least it's not called Truuscon I guess.

Not really, it's just that a lot of people think of it as something only "sad, lonely hopeless people" do. Personally I find speed dating can be fun as long as you don't take it overly serious, especially at conventions where everyone tends to be a bit weirder to begin with.

Well fine, it's not like it was complete anyway. Instead take this new Google Calendar which I just threw together with dates from the old Pastebin and checking the websites of a bunch of cons:
https://calendar.google.com/calendar/embed?src=17gim9nkndjpvpnhp1pr64l410%40group.calendar.google.com&ctz=Europe/Amsterdam

You can add it to your own agenda by clicking on the button on the bottom-right corner of the page and I'll put it in future OP's from now on. I'm probably missing out on a shitload of events so feel free to post them here.

You bragged about working 60+ hours a week for the community in a previous post. You still did not explain how you could make so much hours for the community while you run a shop.
Your shop isn't even fully supporting the community as you sell bootleg and organising cringy meets for both lolitas and cosplayers together is just a bad idea. I do not see you do anything else but work on your stand or do karaoke on conventions. Let's not forget that you also invite every single person who has even the smallest connection to the community on facebook, just to spam them with invites for your events.

Oh and do not defend the bootleg part, I , and many others, have seen it laying around and being sold. Not only figures can be bootleg.

I hope you will clarify why you told us about the 60+ hours only to deny bragging about it later and what you actually mean for the community.

French EVA-01 guy at Animecon had the best "body armour", and that Power Girl-Wonder Woman duo at DCC this year was pretty cool too. Damn, that's sad. Nishi already had very little going on in terms of their schedule, so this really won't do them any good for next year. It kinda makes me wonder what caused all of this...

>>9214071
AnimeCon and Abunai always have my attention, with the first definitely being my favourite. It still surprises me how it manages to keep that cozy feeling despite being the biggest con. Too bad the winter season has very little to offer...
>>
>>9214071
AnimeCon = #1
Abunai = #2
The others are OKish..
>>
MGC Experience will have a guest this year. Someone who is called None Like Joshua.
>>
Any news on terracon?
>>
>>9214118
>what caused all of this
Apparently the hotel fucked up their reservation, otherwise the convention would be last week. This is speculation, but changing the location and increasing the duration of the con probably caused a lot of additional work they couldn't handle. I mean, their website and Facebook were rarely updated and the programme was released pretty late.
>>
>>9214118
They also had money issues. They didnt have enough ticket sales for a long time to pay the hotel to start with. So that makes me think they couldn't properly plan events/people/panels. Its a shame really..

Firstlook was fun btw. Was part of the Overwatch group. We got lots of attention because of the sheer size of our group obv. Barely saw anything on firstlook, got halted for pics every 5 feet hah
>>
>>9214178
Not yet. They wanted to post something about their event soon.
>>
>>9214181
Sounds like they screwed up pretty bad. Although, if the Nishi and Tomo were on the same date, it would be pretty interesting. Wonder what would've happened
>>
>>9214196
>>9214202
If they did some more promotion, I think they could get more tickets sold. And then get their planning more filled. If they asked help from the other conventions, maybe they could get some extra. Do what Abunai did with showing cosplay meetings on the website (first.. make that up-to-date).

It is too bad to say it afterwards, but I am sure people want to help out, even for a weekend ticket.
>>
Seems like nishi is pretty dead, sad really this is the only year I haven't gone there
>>
>>9214203
>>9214203
Point taken.

However in this community the connections are everything. Only by working together people can survive. Advertising is an expensive and long process and not everybody has the rescources for that. So conventions stick together and supported eachother.

Lately it seems more like they are tryin to kick eachother out. Checkout all the posts about "too many conventions" . Everyone acts like being backed into a corner, basically there is a bit of truth in that. Look at how many events there are in this month alone... What, in this weekend alone!

>>
>>9214244
Nothing on this nishicon is full
>>
>>9214246
OK, but Deshima Sounds is kind of popular right? The room they are now having isn't the main stage. So it could have been more filled.
>>
>>9214181
>>9214196
Not to mention that they moved from a somewhat central location to Almelo. I feel a lot of day trippers who used to go to Nishi thought it was simply too far away to attend. Plus the hotel itself is expensive and there hardly are any nearby alternatives around, making Nishi less attractive for weekend visitors as well.

>>9214203
Oh yes, the lack of promotion/hype building, a website with events from 2014 listed on it, and them not responding to questions on Facebook definitely played a huge role here as well. It's almost as if they had no one in charge of their online presence.
>>
>>9214248
Deshima is popular yes, although I seems a lot of people are really starting to lose interest in it. That or it it's an age thing I'm only now starting to notice as me and my con group are getting older.
>>
AYY UNDERTALE AT DESHI THO GOOD SHIT
>>
>>9214071
Animecon, outperforms the other conventions in communication, atmosphere, size, cosplay, events and guests. Basically in everything.
Okay, I am somewhat biased because I know some people there. But I also think that they always improve because it is quite easy to talk with their organisation.
>>
>>9214282
Lmao there's no way you didn't have any alcohol, you ain't foolin' me!
>>
>>9214262
People are not starting to lose interest, there weren't that many people here anyway. What came to Deshima were the people that love to party.
I for one am glad they were there, without Deshima, Nishicon would be a waste of my money..

Yes, they have their ups and downs, but they have to consider everybody in the room, each with other personal musical preference. We can't expect it from them because it's a impossible task.

Just let yourself go the next time, and just try to have fun. And ask for request like what i did. If they have it and fits in their set, they usually play it right away, and otherwise later on the evening.
>>
anyone got a mirror of the Special Edition agenda?
I really want to know all of the upcoming weeb events.
>>
>>9214692
They say they're working on it, probably still at the Nishi or somethin
>>
The cosplay competition was somehow the worst one I've seen so far. It was saved by the couple doing the David Bowie act.
It was a combination of bad acting, bad posing and some horrible pre-recorded voices being played back way too loud over the speakers. The 2 guys presenting everything were doing their best to make the best out of it.
Also remove all mettaton cosplayers from any competitions from now on.

I also hope that there is a special place in hell for that pyramid head cosplayer at the cosplay competition who managed to fuck up every single aspect of what makes pyramid head so unique. Like, who even things that a talking pyramid head is a good idea?
>>
>>9214216
>So conventions stick together and supported eachother.
Is that because of Tomo, because there were rumors that Tomo wanted to kick all those conventions and want to become the biggest of the Netherlands?

They just want cons and markets on a frequent basis as far as i know.
>>
>>9214730
If a video comes up, could you link it? Very curious now.
>>
>>9214243
Cringing at the lame sense of humor of the added events. Edit-anon, I expected better from you.. At least 'Tomofail' is a good edit in there, cause they deserve that nickname.

>>9214216
"too many conventions" comes from the quality>quantity crowd. But that said I guess maybe if there are conventions trying to kick others out, I think it might be the expo ones (Dutch Comic Con+Amsterdam Comic Con+First Look) being like that, rather than the anime conventions. Or maybe that's just my image of them.
>>
Half of the dealers is already gone or packing
>>
>>9214793
>DCC has two editions, both are held way outside our traditional convention season. Also they cancelled their Halloween edition due to "a lack of quality" which shows character.
>SM ACC did overlap with Abunai this year, but next year it will be held the weekend after Abunai. In other words now they'll only be competing for people's wallets rather than the same weekend.
>Firstlook is mostly targeted at gamers rather than anime fans. Also they had this weekend nearly every year while Nishicon used to be in November. So if anything l, Nishicon decided to compete with Firstlook here.
Yeah, while I don't really like these type of cons myself I would say they are actively trying to compete with the other cons. Besides in the end people can always vote with their wallets, no?
>>
>>9214840
Nishicon is restricted by the "theater agenda" sams as animecon back in the day.
I did hear there moving back to november.
>>
>>9214840
I do like that DCC is helr outside of the regular con season, otherwise off-season would be way too long.
>>
>>9214871
Same here, although this off-season does have more content to it with one event/con every month until April with MGC, RetroCon, TerraCon, Midwinter Fair, DCC, TomoFair, Yaycon, DCC again, TomoCon and Elfia.
>>
And the first set of Nishicon pictures has just been posted on Facebook: https://www.flickr.com/photos/ikacosplay/sets/72157673639825412

Also a lot of people seem disappointed about the con, poor staff members...
>>
>>9214840
> I would say they are actively trying to compete with the other cons
I think you mean either:
"I wouldn't say they are actively trying to compete with the other cons"
or
"I would say they aren't actively trying to compete with the other cons"
But thanks for the explanation, I guess in that case, we don't really have to fear anything in terms of competition.
>>
>>9214947
It's been a long weekend for me and not in the "being busy at a con" fun kind of way. But yes, I meant "I wouldn't say".
>>
Nishicon was kinda fun I guess, but it could've been so much better. The location doesn't really bother me.
>>
>>9214840
>Also they cancelled their Halloween edition due to "a lack of quality" which shows character.
Read: not enough tickets sold.
>>
is it me or is that guy who ran the yaycon stand loosing weight?? heard hes gay so should i give it a shot???
>>
>>9215112
Haven't seen him in a while, but if so.. good for him!
>>
>>9215112
Don't give him a shot. He doesn't deserve to get killed ;w;
>>
>>9215107
>Read: not enough tickets sold
They cancelled it pretty early on tho and said something about there not being enough special guests available to make it worthwhile. But yeah, poor ticket sales probably played a part as well.
>>
Also TomoMark is worried about Nishicon. What a good guy!

..
>>
>>9215120
shots don't kill, they just cause severe autism.
>>
I'm surprised people are questioning the logic of the "Viencon" name.

The guy is like a 32 year old basement dweller with the cash to organize shit and wear a unfashionable expensive suit because he lives with his folks, I imagine he's "wereldvreemd" as all fuck so he starts cons named in the first person because he feels that somewhere this has to be about him.

Not that weird.
>>
>>9215174
So we can also expect KelderCon from him?
>>
DungeonCon?
https://www.fb.com/DungeonCon-1629861810611080/?fref=ts
>>
>>9215193
>DungeonCon
Sounds like a Fetlife cosplay event... Tickets where?
>>
>>9215174
If he is the definition of a basement dweller, then you might as well call all of us that? If you're gonna bash on someone, at least type things that make sense with the person in question. Also an*..
>>
>>9215112
if we're talking about the same guy, you're probably not gonna have a hard time wooing him. Not much in the confidence or conversation area there. Got a pretty nice dick though.
>>
>>9215160
yeas mark is a good guy! he's a bit extravagant but deep down he's a good guy.
>>
>>9215722
yeah, I haven't seen him because he went to firstlook in stead of nishicon.

nishicon was awesome BTW. deshima actually played some awesome music. is it because they were back in the same hotel where they originally started?
>>
>>9215723
I don't know about deshima, I was at the karaoke at that time. they're keep getting better every year, they even had a whole stash of kpop this year!
>>
>>9215724
yeah and luckily it wasn't that busy as usual so we didn't have to wait for over 1 hour to sing our song.

anywhow how was firstlook?
>>
>>9212652
I got an email from Karlijn.....
and it didnt take place this saterday... so yeah, I got a source...

>>9215725
Firstlook was pretty fun. I expected the majority to catcall cosplayers, but I didn't notice any of that, atleast not towards me or my friends. A lot of pictures taken and accidentally got a VIP wristband which was pretty sweet. A lot of fun games and the WCS and C4 were done a lot better than last years WCS compo.
>>
>>9212652
Yes the Saturday compo at Firstlook was cancelled due to a sponsor partner backing down, from what I heard anyway.
But WCS and CCCC on Sunday went on as planned.
>>
>>9214243
This is what the drama was all about? Whoa, that's just sad.
>>
>>9215725
First time at Firstlook for me and I found out trying out games in public isn't for me, also it was pretty dark. Next time I'll have a cosplay, which I think would make it a bit more fun for me personally.
>>
Is anyone going to Imagicon?
>>
What I'm wondering is if there is anyone going to Japan Festival? http://www.japanfestival.nl/japan-festival/ I think it's organized by the Japanese community, so that's nice. However, it's kind of too bad they don't seem to know how to promote their event with the right crowd, apart from maybe one post in CosplayNL. I guess it's similar to Japan Markt, but at least that event has plenty of mouth-to-mouth promotion now.
>>
>>9215838
There is a big Japanese community in Amstelveen. Also a few years ago it was in the same weekend as AnimeCon, so it is good that they planned it on another date.

Actually I had a bad karaoke experience

>Come in, room is completely empty aside from karaoke staff
>Request song
>"That will be 30 min"
>They have filled up the queue themselves
>Whatever, no problem
>My friends enter
>They want to request 3 songs
>No you can't do that, it will clog up the queue and when new people come in they will have to wait too long

And the songs they sung were really boring and took forever...
>>
>>9215838
If it's organised by an actual Japanese community, maybe the reason they're not actively promoting it with cosplayers is because they don't want their event to be overrun by screaming weebs in bathrobes and plastic wigs.
>>
>>9215842
except that they didn't
the staff told me they only do songs themselves if there are less than 10 songs in a row. most full-size songs are around 4 minutes, so a 30 minutes queue is 7 songs, at friday after 9 in the evening there were 3 staff members and 6 other visitors so a 30 minute queue is quite reasonable IMHO.
>>
>>9215838
They asked us the Overwatch group trough Instagram to attend their cosplay stage show. Which I found odd, because Overwatch isn't japanese at all. We still havent decided. But they are actively searching out people for their cosplay show it seems.
>>
>>9215845
>>9215847
and because they have a monitor showing accurate timings when it's your turn most of the people request, then go out and come back after the waiting time is over.
>>
>>9215845
Exactly what you say. But I saw there is a Cosplay Competition?
>>
>>9215849
they asked this for DC cosplays on instagram, also no japanese stuff. They even contacted me twice after I turned it down the first time because it's also FACTS that weekend. Kind of annoying to get asked twice by the same organisation on the same ocialmedia platform. Also weird that they are going around asking cosplayers to join instead of posting all over facebook or any other platform...
>>
>>9215855
Or you could feel complimented, they went through to the trouble of approaching you directly which says something about your costumes.
>>
>>9215858
Exactly! We felt complimented as well! I spoke to her in DM and she was so sincere and full of enthusiasm for her cause. I personally feel overwatch is not at place at a fair like this. So we'll probably just skip.
>>
The WCS and C4 qualifiers were at Firstlook right? How did those go?
>>
>>9215858
sure thing, but that's not how it works imho. I thanked the girls, don't get me wrong! I won't ever get cocky when it comes to cosplaying, but it's a weird way of handling a cosplay competition/catwalk and if someone turns it down, just check them off.
>>
>>9215842
following >>9215847 's logic:
isn't it very antisocial to request 4 songs in a row?
that means you occupy the karaoke for an entire 15 minutes without giving other visitors a chance to sing as well!
I think it's pretty sensible to deny a request like that!
>>
>>9215842
I had a great karaoke experience during the whole weekend. Staff was nice and easy to talk to. There were no technical problems.

About the length of the queue: i can imagine if there's no one who requested a song the staff is going to fall in to keep things going on and attract people.

Also i can imagine the staff getting bored from time to time and want to sing a song as well, heck they provided this service to begin with.

And then if there's a group who want to sing i can imagine they told them to just request one song as 3 songs can easily take around 15-20 minutes. This means the public has to see the group for that amount of time. I think that's rather selfish. If you want to perform as a group and want to sing multiple songs, why not just hire a room and sing as a band and arrange a gig?

Again i had lots of fun during the karaoke and been following this group for a while now. They have plenty of songs to choose from and when they don't have the song you want to sing they will add it to the library later at the next convention!
>>
Was everything else at Nishi so boring that everybody can only talk about karaoke?
>>
>>9215889
not at all, the gameroom was quite nice, played puyo puyo against some very strong opponents!
they also had stuff like just dance and other music games i'm a fan of.
>>
Happy to read some positive things about Nishicon!
>>
>>9215889
Lawl, nah it was quite fun :D
Got some great quality time with my friends again, and got to play some ddr. Saturday and sunday were the days with the most people! i didn't attend any workshops or watched any anime.. x3
The gameroom was very nice although i missed the game Tekken since i love that game!
Too bad i couldn't get to try out SoundVoltex but next time i will
>>
>>9215847
Uh, they did? How would you even know? I didn't even specify when this happened, which wasn't on Friday by the way.

>>9215882
I don't care really, as long as the rules apply to everyone? I don't think it's fair I have to listen to the staff sing their songs for 30 mins, and then my friends can't do the same (aside from my friends there were still no other visitors).

I get that they sing in between to keep things going, but that is different from filling the queue up for 30 mins. Also they could've skipped their 'filling' songs when I requested my song, opposed to making visitors wait that long.

>>9215886
It is selfish. But why is it okay for the staff to do it then? I had to wait thirty minutes and they could've liked, skipped a song or two. It was the same two staff people filling up the queue.

>>9215889
Pretty much, yeah.
>>
>>9215916
again 30 minutes is not a long queue! it's 7 songs, if you have 3 staff members waiting for their turn just like regular visitors you already filled up half of the queue.
the staff also sits there the entire day, so how would you know THEY filled up the queue? they could in stead just join someone else perhaps?
>>
>>9215923
If 7 songs isn't a long queue for 2 staff members, how is 3 songs for my group of friends (~5) too much to ask?

And how I know they filled up the queue? Well, what about the fact that the same 2 people sung all the songs? And that they were behind the karaoke control panel when they weren't singing?

Please stop defending yourself, this is awkward.

>Nishicon: What was the most fun and why was it karaoke?

Because it was the only things that was actually up and running properly. The DDR was moved three times, the cosplaycompo was not great, and most of the activities and workshops were canceled...

Main reason: not enough candidates
