Posting an updated preordered items collage for my Tyki bag, since I'm frustrated by the customs taking too fucking long to ship my first loot to my place.... even had some troubles with the bag and ended up having to order a new one sigh. Oh well, just waiting for the payment request on this month's loot and this time I'm definitely gonna choose faster shipping just to speed up the waiting process a bit

Want to make an itabag for Zen from Mystic Messenger.

His color is Grey but Wego doens't carry a grey heartbag. I was going to get a black one for another series, you think i should go with the same for Zen and just switch the merch , or should I go for a white bag?

I wouldnt say its rude. You've bought the sticker and you're just repurposing it. If you're laminating it and using it on a bag you'd see it and appreciate it more, it's also bound to last much longer than on a laptop or on a notebook which go through all sorts of things.
Alternatively if you ever see stickers that you like recommend to the artist to do keyring/phone charm variants and nab a card from them. Feedback is precious to artists and they wont think to do things unless you tell them you want it.

Thanks for the input, anon. I have asked some artists directly through email/twitter about if they'd consider selling buttons/charms/etc but some simply don't have the funds to outsource or even make themselves (the struggle).

I just don't want to step on toes since some stickers are very cute and I like them to last as long as possible. I save all my stickers as I don't want to ruin them by using them except in sticker books.

I'm an AA artist and I honestly don't like it when people message me/talk to me at cons about how I should much so and so product into another one. We make things in what we make them for a reason. Asking if we have them in another variant is fine, but just outright being like "well you should do it in a keychain because I don't buy stickers" or something similar makes you seem entitled. Most of my friends feel the same way so idk where you came up with the "feedback is precious" part?

Feedback IS precious, though. But it's in how it's phrased. I'm another AA artist here. If someone says, "I'd love to buy this as a charm!" while they're purchasing a sticker sheet, that's way different than a snide comment along the lines of "make stuff the way I want to or I won't buy anything". Comments and conversation are part of how I gauge interest for future products, and I find the information useful if it's given in a pleasant manner.

Another anon asking for bag color opinions here, I'm working on a bag for Shu and Nazuna from Enstars but trying to pick a color is... really hard. Ideally all my merch would have the two of them in the Valkyrie outfits but Valkyrie Nazuna is hard enough to come across as it is, finding matching Shu merch is harder, so I'll have to put a fair amount of Ra*bits Nazuna in too... Which complicates things, seeing as Ra*bits is white x blue and Valkyrie is black x red

Would a white bag be my best bet? I feel like if I go with black all of the Shus would just blend in and look like floating heads, lmao... But then I feel like he might be too contrasting if I go with white.

Image color wise, Shu is typically associated with pink and Nazuna with yellow, so not much help there either... I could go with blue since thats the color of the Yumenosaki school uniform blazer, but Ra*bits having blue as part of their color scheme would make it seem like that's where the blue comes from, and Shu would look out of place again.

I personally wouldn't go for black, you'll drown out Valkyrie merch, same for white but it's going to look too stark against most Shu merch. I think pink and blue are your safest bets, pink looks cute against the Ra*bits uniform even if it's more Shu's colour and blue matching the school uniform is playing it very safe, even though it will look more Ra*bits.

If you're determined, maybe make both but small and see which one naturally grows? If you attend cons and such, accumulating more items/charms/etc for whoever is more popular for you will just happen organically.

I got really busy and almost forgot I posted here!

Anyway, thanks you guys! I think one of the hardest parts of making an ita bag is finding a bag that fits the character. I'm trying to settle on a bag for Lucio and it's killing me!

I don't really think the wego bags suit Lucio at all, on the other hand they are pretty popular and keep the items safe. (Tho I am kind of old fashion and always loved the chunky look of all the keychains and items bumbling around )

I'm thinking either the first one (because I can put all the pins inside and clip things like keychains and charms to the outer straps) or the second one, because same thing also it lights up! It has LEDs built into the lining which I think suits him very much!

What do you guys think?

I started collecting stuff for a Junker bag. The wego bags don't really have the aesthetic that fits with these two so I'm probably going to make one for them. I was thinking having Junkrat's smile emoji on one side and Roadhog's pig on the other. Sidenote: It's very hard to find non chibified charms of these two. It's also very hard to find solo Roadhog merch.

The pastel official ones have it as do some of the black ones I believe. There's two listing for the bags. Anything listed under the pastel listing has glitter. The vivid colors don't.
I will say though that I have one of their full open back backpacks with the glitter and it's not nearly as annoying as I thought it would be in person.

Fuck. I've wanted to make an itabag for like six months, so I'm finally doing it. I've been slowly collecting merch of these two for two years now, but I still had less stuff than I thought. Gotta buy more.

Some artists on storenvy currently have Robin charms available, I bought from a few of them during AX so may start to build a very small Jason bag myself.

Marvel is common enough to find in most Storevny/Etsy shops, I personally find DC characters to be harder to come by. I don't have a resource list but will post some known artists after work for you.

Having a dwindling account isn't unusual but it's a good idea to keep an eye on your spending and consider budgeting. I personally had issues with this initially but learned to frequently balance my books and allow myself "fun money" after bills and groceries. It slows the processes but it's definitely for the best lol

My prototype (and first) itabag is done while I wait for my Migi merch.

Had a bunch of Neko Atsume straps I was using for an ita phone before I switched phones (can't find a case that will let me strap shit on it for my S7 yet ;_;)

I'm pretty happy with the result - used craft foam for the backing and just put safety pins through it to hang the straps on. I like the fact that the straps can still move around. I might eventually spruce it up, but content with it for now.

Quick review for one of those factory reject taobao stores

None of the straps I ordered had any visible flaws, included back printing and can with the hooks and straps. The left strap of Rui is one from a blind box split and the right is the one from the store. I see no difference at all except a slightly different yellow in the hair. Don't know if that means it s a bootleg, a different batch or the flaw that marked it as a reject. The two acrylic straps on the side were thrown in for free with my order and had a lot of scratches, offcenter and dull printing. This is my first order of this type so my assumption wold be that rubber straps will have less flaws than acrylic, where much more can go wrong.

For my Ankira ita-bag I ordered the heart SWIMMER bag so if anyone's considering it, here's a quick review.

So the stock photo's colors are a little deceiving, but I was hoping that it was going to be as pink as it was, and a pink that would suit Anzu's pink rabbit. The material is just general woven fabric so its less in your face than the WEGO one. Inside there's the compartment and there's velcro to fasten. On the inside, the bag is lined with a cute heart pattern. The straps are a little thinner in comparison to the WEGO bag, but it's made from a different material which is remiscient of the straps that a lot of WEGO bags have.

All in all it's a cute bag that I would recommend as an alternative!

Thank you mart are a store that specialises in items usually priced at 390 yen (this one is 421 yen, but it's a bit more intricate than most things they sell). They are like Daiso. Their store does a lot of collaboration stuff like Gudetama and Osomatsu-san and would have a lot of good stuff for ita bags. I think I love itabags because I love merchandise. I'm such a pack rat, I love collecting art and figures and things. Except now I'm literally out of room to hang new posters, and if I want to buy more figures I first need to buy another cabinet to keep them in... So itabagging gives me something else to buy, haha. Itabags also have a practical use, so I feel like I'm getting more use and enjoyment out of my merch now, too. I'm an every-day itabagger (the office I work for is very casual) and it makes happiness well up in my chest every time I look at all my charms and things.

I also really enjoy making the bag! I love laying everything out, and picking out fabric for the base board, and finding merchandise to fill in holes. I love the aesthetic of symmetrical layouts in bags a lot. It's really fun. As a hobby, for me itabagging is kind of like managing a very small gallery full of tiny little art pieces I love, for a character that I love.

I paid a price I was comfortable for everything. The pin set I got is only missing one from the set but it has a duplicate of another, it was about 4000 yen.


ALSO FIY to someone asking about the WEGO bag and whether it has glitter (some saying only the bootleg had glitter). The one I got has glitter. I have to say its very pretty though and iridescent. It changes colors in the light like a rainbow, very nice.

I like itabagging because I've been cosplaying for 11 years and at this point. It's getting old and I'm less and less willing to spend all the money making something I'll wear a few times and never be able to resell and takes a ton of precious space to store.

With itabags I feel like I can get back into the con spirit without having to wear awful shoes, wigs and other random uncomfortable things. I can just put on a fun weeb outfit and grab my bag. It takes up much less space in my place to store, I can invest more time in small crafts for my bag rather than a ton of time in a costume.

My husbandos are a little rarer than the usuals so it's pretty fun hunting down their stuff. I rarely want to wear them outside cons though. Sometimes I bring my WEGO heart to Japantown because it gives me some Ikebukuro feels especially when I get compliments from random girls.

I always enjoyed looking at itabags, especially those with items that don't repeat or repeat very little.It's fun to see how people put things together and arrange them. I didn't personally want to do one, because I was worried it would be too heavy or that I'd end up buying stuff for it that I wouldn't buy normally. Then, if I made one, how would I display it when not at cons?

So this happened:

I already owned most of these charms and have plans to buy more Valkyrie ones. There are a few more releases on the way that I want. Though I'll miss them on my shelves, I do need more shelf space for other Ensemble Stars merch. I got the white one so they would show up well and plan on filling the empty space. (Plus, if I wanted to change it up and put my Nazuna collection in there, it would still work.)

I also like the thought of showing love for characters and having something that would tip off other fans, since I usually go in lolita and not cosplay.

For me, it's mainly the fact that I want to show my love for the character(s). I want to put together a bag that is character-accurate (color of the bag, shape etc), is creative and looks well thought out. I've gradually moved away from figurines and dolls to buying smaller merch, which fits itabagging great.

I'm not a fan of taking my itabag out in public because I don't want too look too much of a weeb, so I mainly show it off on the internet and selected few occasions like conventions.

Oh! I got one of the rounded star bags in navy a few days ago. The bag itself is really nice - the material and quality feels similar to a wego bag. The straps are kinda odd though. Rather than two separate straps you have one long strap that that slips through a loop at the top. It’s definitely not a deal-breaker for me however. The part that is disappointing personally is the insert. I expected it to be a fabric board but instead it’s basically just a flimsy piece of fabric with velcro attached. I wanted the star to be a different colour for my bag so I’m planning on replacing it with something stronger.
