I'm taking bets! Will this be Germany's Dashcon desaster?
Will it go down in history as Epic Fail Con?
So far they market themselfes as big big big, but have nothing to show for. Not even a team.
Is comic con hypocrisy now establishing in anime con wannabes?
So many of them had their mouths full of expectations and couldn't deliver shit. It's even a pain to watch from afar.
So, put your bets at stake, what's to expect?
Is this con new? Never heard of it before.

I had to google it and so far it looks pretty promising, although I'm not sure if all of the expectations are going to be fulfilled. I won't attend it anyway, but damn those Japan tickets sound so good...

Established cons tend not to fail as hard.
I dont know anything about german cons but that name is simbly ebin...

That Con name came straight out of weebhell. Where will it be located?
>all these high end guests
>expensive prizes for cosplay competitions
>cheap tickets
They even got Yaya on their list of guests...

I talked to one of their promoters at Dokomi this year and they seemed quite legitimate???
I guess we'll have to wait out on this, but their marketing isn't worse than that of Dortmund's Comic Con last year, and I seriously thought this would be one huge scam, but it turned out okay.
Also, bringing Yaya Han and Evil Ted Smith to Germany is kind of a big thing for me..
holy shit, the rented the Frankfurt Messe for this. I wonder where they got the funds for that.

So let's hope it won't turn from epic con into epic fail.
What annoys me though is that frankfurt is getting a second huge con along with the frankfurt book fair then, which is pretty unfair for the north of Germany. We need a big event too, because chisaiicon is shit and has always been shit

North anon here, I couldn't agree more. The Magnology in Hamburg was pretty nice considering it was the second con, although I was mainly working and didn't really have the chance to explore... the choice of location was definitely interesting. I hope it will grow into a bigger con, they deserve it.
At least Berlin has MMC/Animaco, it's easier to reach than the fucking south. But we need a big con that isn't ChisaiiCon or another small "new" con that is barely more than a gathering.

Yaya has been to german conventions like connichi so many times, I don't see where this is an interesting guest even?
The rest are some mid tier cosplayers and that's it. No musicians, mangaka or whatever. Has the guesting bar been set so low nowadays?
Renting such an expensive fair, trowing out flight tickets like christmas and so on is obviously hugely expensive. So what happens if they don't get enough visitors to pay for it?
That's like my main question about this all.

Ah man, would travel just to see Ted Smith, the guy is great!
While I personally don't like how they invited cosplayers who are more like pornstars, I see why they would, since their attendance will probably sell more tickets for their fans.
Then again, I really don't get why they would invite the last two on the list, they're neither famous nor really exceptional in what they're doing?

Last time she was invited to Germany was in 2013 though? With her experience and skills, she's an interesting guest to me.
Also, Evil Ted Smith has never been to any german conventions, I would love to visit his panels. I hope they'll bring more prop makers, since there seems to be more slots too? Maybe Bill Doran or Volpin.
big convention?
so far only a bit more than 2000 tickets have been sold. This is even less than cosday or hanami
I would not expect too much
Has anyone seen this?
http://www.asia-arena.de/Cosplay/Cosplayprogramm/Cosplay-Contest.html
EpicCon seems to host a cosplay contest at Oschersleben, which looks just shady overall? How are they even going to get enough participants, Oschersleben is some backwater town in Saxony-Anhalt, I used to live there and wouldn't even want to attend.
Also, I bet the motorsport audience will be just lovely..

This is so odd.
I'd love to go and see epic con for myself but Frankfurt is too far.
