Holy crap. That is nuts, but in a good way.

I've always stuck to super canon versions, but I've developed an appreciation for the embellished designs. I particularly like it when the changes are an extension of the existing design, rather than just slapping on more ruffles.

I never really finished my Yukari, and I'm kind of kicking around the idea of decorating it a little more. I'm not cosplaying much these days, though.

Oooh finally a touhou thread. I just finished my Yuyuko costume and wore it to a con, only to lose my hat before I reached the con location. I'll be remaking the apron to since so far, pictures seem to suggest the white fabric is blending in too much with the rest of the dress. Wont really get pictures til a couple of weeks later though, just posting the original artwork here first I guess.

My next plan will probably be Junko

Kind of nervous to selfpost, but I'm glad there's finally a touhou thread to get some input..
I just finished Momiji and I'm working on Marisa right now, but after seeing costumes posted here I'm not sure I'm going big enough..
Is there anything (aside from the unfinished apron and lack of undershirt) that needs fixing? I would just like some opinions before I continue.

Don't worry too much about how big you have to go haha. The wip looks good so far! Have you already cut out the apron fabric or is it still a paper pattern? I would make the top of the apron slightly wider to introduce some pleats or ruffle into it just so the apron does not lie flat against the skirt. I think that will make it look more... 3D? If that makes sense

Planning to do a Mokou cosplay, I'm planning to use a dark red fabric like the OP pic rather than the bright reds I see a lot. Thoughts?

Been working on a remi costume forever, finished the parts but can't figure out how to make a harness for the wings that won't be noticeable

What alot of Remilia and Flan cosplayers do is add an extra fabric panel on the back to hide the bulk of the harness. This typically makes it easier to photoshop and blend out subsequently. Alternatively you can make two large reinforced holes in the back of the top and wear it over the harness.

Yeah it should be pretty recognizable. Clownpiece is very distinctive after all. If you are worried just add her scepter and you should be fine

Sewing and making your own stuff is tons of fun but everyone has got to tart somewhere! Personally I'm glad to see people make their own costumes cause a few personal touches here and there really make the costumes shine, especially in the context of touhou since there is alot more liberty to get creative.

It was super frustrating as an artist who got screwed over last year that he was just brushed that off but addressed the like five people who pre bought badges.

That said, I still really hope there's another year. I made so many good friend the last few years.
