I wear gothic lolita to special events and "gothgoth" regularly, but I want to wear more casual lolita daily. Stuff made out of lolita main pieces but more wearable, not that fancy.
Post inspo and share ideas!
It's okay if the dresses are technically sweet or classic as long as it's *plausibly* gothic. Use common sense here.

What I don't mean are coords like pic related, which are too dressy to be "casual" the way I think of it. I could wear a coord like this to a nice gathering but would feel overdressed just running errands, even if it is as simple as can be.
>>9122028
Dumping more of the aesthetic I will aim for
>>9122028
I'm with you so far, the rest look easy casual to me, while this looks like more what might be called a simple coordinate or 'just lolita'
>>9122047
And ty other anon!
>>9122052
Yeah, but it is the kind of "casual" a lot of lolitas think of--the basic, simple, but dressh kind, so I posted it to stave off that kind of thing from being posted. I've been around this rodeo one too many times lol
>>9122056
Old way of 'casual' is best way. I recognize this.
>>9122056

>>9122021
I'm on mobile and have nothing to contribute, but I love this sort of toned down goth/black classic/whatever the fuck you call it. Such a good look for daily wear.
>>9122028
I get what you mean but I dress like this pretty often, I have a really hard time "dressing down". Good thing I live in a big city so I don't ever look too out of place.
>>9122066
I love it, too. I think since it's Moitie and has the cross motifs it's safe to classify this as EGL. I defer to Mana-sama's judgements.
And yeah, I'm in a suburban/working-class college town where it's hoodies and jeans or yoga pants and spray tan as far as the eye can see. I have working-class values pretty ingrained into my daily dress code despite the whole goth thing, haha. Even transitioning to lolita daily makes me nervous.
>>9122105
do u think this is a game, babybat
>>9122021
This isn't exactly casual
Most of this isn't casual
>>9122569
Most examples use cutsew, everyday leg wear, more informal hairstyles and headwear and they are styled in a very unfussy way in general so I think they are really good examples of nicely done casual.
>>9122569
Can we please not have this discussion again? Everyone has different definitions of casual, we get it. If you don't like what's being posted, contribute your own idea of casual.
I love >>9122021, it's very much what I'm aiming to dress like on a day to day basis.
A lot of old school has a more casual feel to it. Probably because of real hair being the norm, and less accessories being worn.
>>9122610
All Bodyline? I like this look and also her hair.
>>9122644
Yes, I believe I saved that one (and this post) from a "good Bodyline coords" thread.

Random question - what style of flat shoes does anyone recommend for gothic? I love wearing heels but it's not practical for day-to-day so I usually end up just wearing flat mary janes, though sometimes those seem too sweet.
Anyone have suggestions?

flat ankle boots often look good with gothic looks

there's more to lolita than just the silhouette, anon. it fits the aesthetic.
>>9130617
The silhouette is pretty integral for lolita. I wouldn't classify this as lolita at all.
>>9130625
>The silhouette is pretty integral for lolita
This is often the case, particularly when a skirt looks deflated and sad without a petticoat and I would agree there is definitely a distinctive 'silhouette' associated with it. However in my opinion there is more to it than just the silhouette and sometimes the 'lolita silhouette' as we know it doesn't have to feature if the other lolita associated components are intact. I tend to agree with the following article on the matter: fyeahlolita dot blogspot dot co dot uk/2013/03/silhouette-vs-aesthetic-what-makes.html

These shoes are exactly what I've been looking for! Anyone know what they are or of any similar? I'd like to wear lolita more casually, but my feet are huge and look ridiculous in flat bottom shoes, but heels just aren't practical. These look like a nice middle ground, and the ankle part looks perfect

>>9137352
>>9137356
This is hideous and not gothic.
>>9137358
help me find good casual gothic coords for the love of god i am losing my mind why does nobody wear this and share their coords and all i can find is stuff like pic related
>>9137352
>>9137375
Because people are too scared to post casual lolita coords. I'm not going to selfpost either. Maybe I can make some coords in polyvore?
And people who started wearing lolita after OTT became popular often don't know what casual is. I don't think casual gothic is harder to find them the other substyles though.
>>9131468
Here's a bigger version for anyone who wants it. Pretty much everything I had has been posted already but since everyone else seems to be having as much trouble as I am and OP seems to have a very wide view casual I'll drop some borderline casual coords.
>>9137458
Adding to what you said it's also harder to get that balance of looking casual but still wearing lolita and still looking the lolita kind of gothic instead of just western goth/mall goth/just black clothing. It's already hard enough to tell if people mean simple, not OTT, comfortable, easy to wear, or "normie friendly" when they mean casual.
>>9137697
Just pretend the print on the cutsew is something edgier.
>>9137702
So casual it's not even really lolita anymore.
>>9137705
With black shoes right would be somewhat plain by modern standards. It's also really easy to just put on.
>>9137710
This just looks comfy and it could be relatively toned down if you replaced the headpiece.
>>9137719
Wrong Pic.

i dare you to find it and post it ITT because my research indicates you are wrong
>>9137375
As a gothic wearer? It's hard to take pictures of black on black outfits. I take fewer photos because if I don't have decent lighting it just looks like one big black blob.

I don't get why there aren't people posting flat coords? Like we could have so much OC if people just moved stuff off their bed (takes like 5 minutes tops) and put together outfits.
I suspect its because people don't have the items for it. As soon I get my new stuff in I'll post it. Right now all I have is sweet.

I think the right is sold out, unfortunately. But you can find similar pairs like pic related by searching "multi strap flats".

How can I search similar shoes to the ones she's wearing? High heel mary janes? I feel like I might just come across normie stuff. I want some chunky looking ones

She always looked kawaii

Maybe 'chunky Mary Jane heels'. You could also check Bodyline if you haven't already. They've had a similar pair on their site for what feels like an eternity.
