Is Yolanda still around? Loved their shit back in the day
>>9132646
They are indeed. Not sure if the quality is different, but it's fair to the price you pay. No resale market for the Name of the Father set unfortunately for any sellers.
>>9122245
Same. I feel like the issue stems from two things:
>1. japanese people fuckin love SS uniforms
a generalization, but there's so many instances of musicians for example wearing painfully obvious nazi-inspired or referenced uniforms, armband and everything.
>2. SS uniform was designed by hugo boss (fashion designer) and is also black
Black is a really stylish color in general. A lot of military lolita stuff is black because brands with gothic styles design them and ofc black is "the" gothic color. Along with that, I think people sometimes like to make military inspired fashion in general black if they want a look that doesn't look so overwhelmingly military like if they used olive or drab green. And then the biggest thing too is when people see or think "black military uniform" I think many people just immediately associate it with SS uniforms because of how that little bit of history has been so widely spread.
But mostly it's probably just because japanese people fucking love nazi uniforms. I mean, some shit is just straight up no hiding it whatsoever. Look at Metamorphose's Die Walkure series. Some people want to claim that it's japanese uniform inspired and hey, maybe a little bit of it is but that also just smells like fresh denial IMO. Check out the painfully obvious reichstag eagle-inspired emblem on the hat and even the german/german inspired name. (I know there are other militaries/countries out there who use eagle emblems, I mean even we/America have an eagle icon that could be deemed similar, but really.)
>>9126931
Sauce? I really like this
>>9120363
Why can you only wear it to a con?
>>9119747
Wow, I do not like the cage skirt with that. Not everything needs huge poof, especially classic or goth pieces
>>9133838
I love D. Walkure, but there is simply no denying where the influence came from. The straight-wing eagle was a symbol of Nazi Germany, with or without the swastika, and they literally took that Nazi eagle and put it on their hat. However, funny and stupid thing about that set is that all the buttons have the US army eagle on them. The set is soaked in hilarious and ironic ignorance, and I love it so.

I own a D. Walkure set (in green), and I love it but have to agree with both of you 100%.
It's very obvious it was inspired by Hugo Boss's SS uniforms.
The eagle symbol (which in turn was stolen from the Romans) and the armband can be removed though and then it looks a little more like just a military inspired set.
I think it's a well known fact that Hitler was obsessed with the composer Richard Wagner (who was also know for being an anti-semite) and Die Walkure is one of Wagners most famous opera's, well the name Meta gave to this line can't be a coincidence now can it?
When it was released (well, before that even) some people got really upset by it, sjw's started sending Meta angry emails, and Meta decided to only sell in in Japan because of that.
That's when some collage picture started to emerge to point out how un-Nazi it was, I guess people were trying to defend themselves for liking/buying it or something?
I just didn't give a shit what others thought of it, I liked it and that was reason enough to put it on my wishlist (couldn't afford it back then).
Meta's D. Walkure line was/is gorgeous, wished I also owned the black set. Personally think the black set is the most beautiful.

I'll dump a few pics from my folders.
Don't have much though.
>>9139263
I love the way Macross looks. Even with the dorky tassles.
>>9143734
fml. Sorry for it being sideways!
>>9139258
Spot on, anon. I have the black set and really love it, but people sound like idiots when they go into majorly picking apart the series to try and find anything to distance it from the unfortunate influence. It's Nazi inspired, that's undeniable.
However, I think that if someone likes the set then they should be able to and not be so ashamed of themselves or fight to rationalize liking it aesthetically. There are ways to wear the set (or individual pieces) and take away the pieces that push it over the line, and it is easy to say "I like the way it looks, but I don't condone Nazism and think people need to be considerate if they are to wear any of the pieces".
I found this thread one day and it was really interesting:
http://www.cosp.jp/chie_question.aspx?id=17164
People want to play the whole, "But Japan doesn't know any better/Japan doesn't care!" card, but this totally contradicts that.
Basically people are saying it's insensitive to wear it all together, may upset people, has influence from dark historical events, and if the person is to wear it then they should be responsible and not wear the whole thing together because they feel it is tasteless and offensive, but can be done in a way that wouldn't be so jarring/offensive.

I am desperate for a source on the style of boots they're wearing in this picture. Black leather, hooks and eyelets, 2-3" heel, NO ZIPPER. Anyone into military style have any leads?
>>9119910
Nice airsoft
>>9144280
Riding boots. For no zipper like I prefer too, look in the 100-300 range.
>>9144947
Searching riding boots on eBay, etsy, etc. is not going to get you anywhere close to those, sorry man.
>>9144280
Google tells me those are probably vintage Frye Black Label hunting boots. So there's a bunch of keywords you can try
