Describe your dream lolita website.
Not necessarily a website, but I'd love to see more integration. Essentially what I think would benefit the community most would be a social hub (a la Facebook or Lacebook), an archive (Lolibrary), and a sales comm (Lacemarket) that have crossover.
So you can set up your social page, then integrate with your Lacemarket account so that people can see your listings in a separate tab on your profile. Then integration with Lolibrary to have a WTB tab and closet tab for showing off your collections (like PoupeeGirl) where you can upload custom photos, tag the item's Lolibrary page, etc. Maybe even the ability to have a tab for an Etsy or Storenvy for users that own and want to promote their own J-fashion stores.
Integration could also be useful for tracking statistics of sales -- seeing when sells the most during the year, or what for which years, for what price, in what countries, what the most popular items are (of this month, this season, this year, all time, etc.) And statistics of closets -- ie:
> Sugary Carnival JSK was owned the most in 2011, sold the most in 2014, the most popular colorway of all time (for owning) is pink, and blue (for selling). It's sold the most to users in America and owned the most by users in Japan.
It would be neat to have achievements too, and a 'lolita level' similar to those "How Lolita are You?" quizzes. Things like "In the fashion for 10 years!" and "Bought first brand item!" that you could attribute on your timeline to certain dates/years like Facebook, which contribute to your overall EXP. Flairs next to usernames for main substyles (with a maximum of like 3) like Reddit has would also be useful.
If I had the programming skill for it, I'd do it myself in a heartbeat. Sadly I only know enough CSS and HTML to make my Tumblr cute and not much else.
I would love to have a pinterest alike website were you can save all your inspiration with tags combined with Lolibrary so we can see the pieces of each coord easily. We would be able to follow our favorite lolis. That's why it would be cool if this would be linked to instagram and facebook so make it automatic or something.
I'm don't like saving my inspo on my pc. I's not that organised and it's not easy to find something when you have it in mind. A inspo boards website online (so you never loose your stuff) with a good search engine would be great.

yeah it's called pinterest
Not a website, but an app like the Chinese lolitas have with a closet, list of releases, coord sharing, and possibly a chat/forum.
>>9096157
i'd love this!!
>>9095953
so something like lookbook?
>>9096065
I'm currently saving all my fav coords on Pinterest but everything is in one board. It's not organised well enough. It would have been great to add tags to make things easier to find.
>>9096175
I don't use lookbook so I don't know how this exactly works but it looks like what I have in mind.
>>9095953
I want to add something. With the website I imagine, it would be easy to see all the coords created by people for each and every items referenced like what we see in the "worn thread". It would be like a lolibrary combined to lookbook.
>>9096308
Just FYI, if you're grabbing coord shots from Facebook/COF and uploading them to Pinterest yourself, people don't take kindly to that. Permission and privacy is a huge issue. Some people don't want their photos circulating around SAH-Mom central. The last person who did that ended up getting slammed with dozens of DMCA takedowns from people whose photos she uploaded until Pinterest eventually suspended her account.
>>9096320
Really? Then why posting photos on the Internet in the first place. I mean, I'm not stealing stuff since it's public. It's just for my personal use.
I don't want to save everything on my computer. It's not organised and last time I did it, everything vanished when my hard drive broke.
Discogs but for lolita. I'd love to see all mbok sales, yahoo japan, and lacemarket info together so you can see how much stuff is actually going for.
On my ideal lolita website, the following groups of people would be banned:
Males, ageplayers/anyone into kink, weeaboos, replica wearers, people who think you can build acceptable coords out of normie clothes, anyone who isn't really a lolita, anyone who thinks lolita has no rules, people who don't wear blouses under their jsks, anyone under 18, the annoying tumblr crowd, and people who think that sneakers are ok with lolita
>>9096437
>anyone into kink
>implying that a person's private kinks, which in most cases are completely unassociated with lolita fashion, have any bearing on their belonging in comms
>ok.jpg
>>9096332
Just make your Pinterest boards secret and no worries to be had
>>9096437
>anyone under 18
Someone can be a good lolita and be under 18. I know of many lolitas aged around 16-17 that coordinate well and own brand. Young doesn't equal naive. It depends on the person. A young lolita who does well in the fashion simply has a head start.
>>9094073
no one cares about your shitty pixel art onee.
>>9096332
CoF is a closed group. Only members can see the photos, not the public. So yes, if you must take photos from there for your personal reference, pin them on a private board. Many of us do not publicly upload our photos and don't want anyone else to either. Bad enough they get re-posted here.
>>9096445
If they keep it properly private (as they should) then no one would know, right? So they would never get called on it unless they were not discreet.
>>9101163
So as long it's photos posted publicly like from Tumblr or Instagram, I'm fine.
>>9095946
this would be amazing to have. I hate Facebook with a passion but it's the only social hub lolitas have right now.
>>9095946
Having crossover between platforms would be amazing. I'd really love being able to find coords of specific dresses, especially if you could sort by date(say oldest to newest) to see how girls coord the print over time. I'd also love to have the social aspect on something other than Facebook, I hate Facebook.
a resale site that's literally just lacemarket but has a functional search feature and notifies you if your dream dress is up for auction
>>9103105
yes, and it should scrape all second hand sites (like mbok) too and notify if a dress you're looking for gets listed
>>9096348
Damn. That's actually a good idea.
I'm very shy irl so some kind of friending website would be nice, being able to find lolitas with similar interests outside of the fashion would be a lot easier since I'm horribly awkward at meets!! It could (or rather, would have to) match you with people internationally if no one is in your area, a lolita penpal would be really fun.
>>9106841
Just post or participate in a penpal/friending thread.
Something where you can tag your coord with the actual dress / accessory release, and then you can search the database of how other people have worn it.
As we speak I'm building an app specifically for lolita/jfashion. It's chat based (unlike facebook which is comment based), and we're definitely going to integrate sales. We're also placing a priority on HD photos (unlike facebook). I'm also making sure that mods can ban anyone who is not a genuine community member. Release date is sometime around september. If anyone has any tips, requests, etc. I'd greatly appreciate input!

>>9094073
I say this all the time. I want quizilla back. I"ll take a lolita edition if necessary.
Lolibrary's archive with the ease of Hellolace's organization.
>>9095946
That sounds amazing!
It'd be nice to have one site for community things, having to manage a facebook and a livejournal and half a dozen other things to find when the next tea party is is kinda tedious.
>>9095946
This sounds like a lot of fun. Why not give it a try? I'll help out, I'm a server person. If you'd like, you can make the layout and I'll make the tabs work.
I feel like the EXP system is a natural way of filtering out the normies and creepers. If we come up with some system of EXP for posting coords and giving helpful advice, you get a clear picture of who's actually involved in the fashion and then you can make things private and keep out all the people that don't participate in the fashion.
Oldschool bbs type forum. Members only, good mods with the capability to username and IP ban, lots of different subject areas for discussion, individual accounts but not social media type, just bare bones
>>9107624
A mobile app with HD photos? Good luck my dude.
Personally, I really like the My Figure Collection system and would like that to be implemented for wardrobes. It would be like lolibrary where there's info on all pieces, you can add ones that you own to your collection, and make a wish list of pieces you want. A person can then list that piece for sale and you get automatic notifications if things on your wish list are being sold.
>>9096332
I agree, it's fucking stupid. If you don't want your shit on the internet don't put it there in the first fucking place. I don't care if CoF is a "closed group," it's 2016 and if you're old enough to have a facebook you are old enough to know that nothing, NOTHING on the internet is private. jfc.

this is my favorite idea in the thread
