Its a trap in the game itself and it promotes a bad imagery because it implies transpeople can have a focus on VIDEO GAMES and somehow not look like shit and be autistic. Its the darn wigs! I've never seen one with enough volume and thickness (and obviously the gravity defying shape and split of her locks is impossible). The ears are often placed too low on the head as well.

That aside I think she's modeled best by someone very short (she's only supposed to be 5 feet tall) and with a very slender frame. I think her design just doesn't transfer well to photography of real life analogues. A cosplayer might look ok in person but to photograph well as her they'd need to be on the low end of a healthy BMI if not a little underweight, Chii looks so dainty to me. The face is likewise impossible, its so highly stylized and doesn't seem to suit European facial features at all.

She'd probably look best cosplayed by a 15 year old Asian girl, which to be fair, she's supposed to look like one anyway.

Most cosplayers translate it at waist height. I have one that goes to my ankles but with how easily it tangles its almost not worth it.

The problem I have with a lot of Jojo cosplay is when people draw those black lines on their faces to mimic the style of the anime (pic related, though these two are better than most). It's like, you do know the characters don't ACTUALLY have black lines on their faces, right? It's just the art style. A lot of the time it looks like it was hastily drawn on with cheap eyeliner, and sometimes they can't even bother with making the lines look straight. Plus, it's super unflattering when done on someone with a rounder face. I feel like if someone really wants to look more manly or whatever for a Jojo cosplay they should learn good contouring instead of doing that crap.

There's also the problem of people not being in good enough shape for most of the characters, but I'm willing to overlook that (to an extent, of course) if the costume, wig, and makeup are good enough.

Most people don't want to do the wig for Slayer because it's too hard or too much effort.

There's a lot of GG cosplayers but most of them do: Dizzy/Bridget/Baiken/I-no (Traps and titties.)

Boobs sell sad to say along with badass factors (such as weapons.)

I have not seen: That Man/Fanny/Fox dude cosplayed the most. I found six slayer pictures.

That anon wasn't really talking about the body though. The fit of the actual costume is kind of odd. Maybe it's because it's a crossplay, but the skirt should start up higher. Yeah definitely do it when you feel confident about your skills! I've done a lot of Utena cosplays myself, including both Utena and Anthy's rosebride dresses, and also the movie dress that you're talking about. The main part of the dress isn't too hard, but the challenge is the open front skirt.

And to stay on topic, this is my favorite Utena and Anthy pair. It's too bad Anthy doesn't have the hat though

To be fair, it's pretty hard to keep a long wig perfectly untangled through the whole photoshoot, especially if it's curly. I love how the bangs are done though, that's where I find a lot of Utena cosplays are lacking.

Same Utena, but with the transformed outfit. The biggest problem I have here is that she doesn't have the right shoes, and a few other nit picks here and there, but otherwise, I think this is one of the best ones. My only complaint is the photo quality itself. I know there's touch ups, but the red of her socks is making my eyes bleed because the contrast looks so crazy high. Would be nice to see the Student Council members though. I found it kind of funny how in the musical, all the actors where women in really high platform boots for height.

I'm pretty damn proud of my Utena, but I'm hesitant to self-post in a thread like this. I actually looked at a lot of other Utena cosplays to learn what NOT to do, which was extremely helpful. The epaulets are definitely the hardest to get looking good when trying to stay accurate, both for Utena and Anthy.

Ive seen some good Jojo cosplays but never EVER jotaro. No one has the face or physique. Maybe he's physically impossible to exist irl.
