Honestly, no.

I've been playing the game since beta (more of a player than a cosplayer these days) and I think it's because of the variety in champions and the shit ton of skins they have for each one. It's very similar to old WoW in the way that there is a ton to choose from. Any popular game (or thing in general) is gonna have a large community of people creating content for it. Look at Undertale, for example or even Homestuck. Fans create things not for reward but because they genuinely like something. Hence why they're fans.

Glad you mentioned Undertale and Homestuck. Both games require absolutely no skill or talent when it comes to creating things related to the game. It's so piss easy to make up bullshit any fat and lazy piece of shit can feel like they're a creator on par with the rest of the community.
League is a step above that, but it is also is easy to create for because of how many skins and POTENTIAL skins are out there. Your imagination is encouraged to create.

I got to say its the diversity of champs and personalities. There are Tonnes of people who cosplay league without playing it or knowing what Riot is, simply because the designs are very nice to recreate. Some simple cosplay designs look amazing in real life. It's kind of a cheap way to cosplay but hey, its popular for a reason.
I am yet to see someone cosplay Homestuck or Undertale who have no idea who the character is, they are all die hard fans of the franchise.

I'm kinda disappointed in the lack of yordle cosplays so I really wanna cosplay one of Poppy's skins this year. Seems like doing her in-character "bad jokes" would be fun.

I do, since I have been personally invited to cosplay at an event. Since they acknowledge their cosplayers it makes many more keen to cosplay from them. Being featured in their artist posts are really nice for many cosplayers, because it adds to the fun of cosplaying

That's what I am thinking more recently. While I had lots of fun in pre-season 1 until season 3 playing solo and with friends, everything after became more stale. Imho LoL feels almost unplayable today, if you are playing the game alone. It's a game to have fun with friends and joke around and it's doing quite well besides all the typical ranked bullshit you experience evertime anew.

But everything else became more and more meaningless.

But for being a very one dimensional game (I mean, you can't deny that Summoner's Rift defines the game and everything else is just an extra), I'm quite surprised for how well the game is still doing. With Overwatch released recently a few players left LoL, but it's still going strong. That's where I wonder when the ship will start to sink for real.
