Interested in seeing photos from AX!
>what youre working on
I was Silas for day 1 and morning of day 2.shit didn't work out too well for some of it and needs to be repaired but everything still stayed fine.
Doing Siegbert on Monday, day 4,so if anyone sees me then feel free to hit me up
Working on my Niles for otakon, right now im making the navy blue cloak. Im pretty nervous since ive apparently chosen a husbando to cosplay, as well as being a straight male cosplaying a bi character. I just liked him because he was my best unit, and he was hilarious/lewd.
I was Sakura for day 2! Originally had a Hoshido siblings group but it kind of fell apart haha.. hopefully I can reshoot this sometime because I was missing her arm sleeves
I can see the effort she put into making the cosplay i guess.
Yeah but come on anon, you can't deny attention is part of why people do cosplays like this.
Holy shit someone ignored the source material. The bow is cool though.
Perfect and very cute. Yeah, i think its a law of nature that 80% of cosplay groups have to have something go wrong. If i don't spoon feed literally everyone in the group, someone somehow inevitably fucks something up. I think i just need more experienced cosplay friends.
Idont really like sophie but wow she looks pretty cute
You still have time to learn anon, if youre a guy and can do decent work with eyeliner and also fixing your brows (which is the problem with most guys) youd be a winner.
>also this lazward has the most dazzling smile I'm in love.
I'll brace myself. Working retail for 5 years kind of killed my introvert side.
Im sure there'll be many others, Im doing mine friday though. Hopefully the one you get is me haha.
Yeah down to the final month, it went by so fast.
The best part about this picture is the delay of wondering what hes holding then realizing the joke. My sides are GONE. He looks so serious ffs
That Anna's belt is perfect, trying to figure out how to do mine.
I am a guy, ive only really used cover up though. Mainly for small stuff. Eyebrows? I can look up a tutorial on YT for that i guess. My eye lashes are actually really long, is it still ok to put stuff on my eyes?
Cover up is fine but you'd need to make sure it matches your skin tone. Learn to contour, pluck your eyebrows (or at least clean up stray hairs) and yes, you still can put eyeliner/eyeshadow on even if you have long lashes (there are girls with long lashes and that doesn't stop them)
I recommend you get help from the make up thread. Best place to start.
don't bitch, post cosplay
Working on Mikoto for myself and Yukimura for husbando. Don't want to bother with the derpy mechanist puppet so I'm going to make derpy, felt hand pup pets of the royals and other popular units for him.
Sorry for bad pic, but does anyone else also have a pic of her or her social media?
Stop being salty and post old Fire Emblem cosplays then
Currently working on Soleil and having absolute difficulty with how the fandom is split between what her default hair color is:
Is it Olivia pink or is it Laslow grey? I see "default images" for both, but is there an actual set in STONE color?
Silas from the beginning of the thread.
Put on my Siegbert right now to make sure everything's ready to go to cosplay him on Day 4 of AX
I did Nina at Momocon, and am gonna improve her for AWA.
I'm not sure how I feel about the capelet; should I maybe dye it darker or even make a new one out of a darker red fabric?
I can gaurantee that I generally have no idea what I'm doing with make-up either. Just takes a lotta messing around and experimenting with what does and doesn't work with your features and skintone.
Can't argue against you there. Had like four different sources and none of the colors seemed cohesive so I just said fuck it.
>Crossplaying white girl
>Chubby white guy looking for that booty
>Brown guy with weak chin
Basically what I'm expecting for 99% of Niles cosplay
Your Nina is pretty perf though I'm loving the belt
>20% of face cropped out
What did he mean by this?
Shitty instagram crop, but cosplayer all really good in it. Don't see a lot of the Hoshidian noble armor compared to the Nohrian version
Oh shit i forget Hoshi noble femui exists. I....I think this is my first time seeing it, and I bought all 3 games day of release. But yeah these are good. I like Oboro's eyebrowrows. Wish she was making the face tho but im an oborofag so dont mind me.
I think the cosplayer suits oboro but her outfit is probably one of the easier ones (compared to Nohrians) so it's kind of disappointing to see that chest piece done so badly as well as the lack of styling on the wig.
The ryouma is probably the best out of all of them. The armour looks good
The chest piece looks fine in terms of construction I just don't think she took her bust into consideration when building it. Even though it's pretty flat in references it should be somewhat curved and worn with a chest compressor or sports bra.
I cosplayed Charlotte day 2 and 4 of AX!
Why would you ruin my waifu like this?
Your wig desperately needs a brush. Your top is very ill fitting and the blue trim looks like duct tape. The axe is probably the only decent part of your cosplay ngl
My Rinka cosplay from AX last year. I KNOW I KEPT my piercings in, I thought they looked more tribal so shrug shrug
And we told you last year, you should have waited and worked harder on your cosplay rather than rushing to be one of the "Me First" cosplayers we have to deal with daily. You're average.
I've seen this exact same picture from you probably 30 times on /cgl/ alone. Stop posting it if you don't have another picture, especially since you were just a dumbass band wagoner at the time.
its sad when people have nice bodys but a not so great cosplay, the top and the waistband on your underwear looks very rushed and could be a lot neater.
So much potential wasted.
Got some shots of my Silas back today,my face looks shit in them but can't help that now
Can't wait to be called out for the lazy parts on this
well since youre asking for it:
the only think you have going for you is the decent armor construction but youve ended up with 2 torso/body sections instead of 3
>sewing is terrible
>wig is styled terribly
>little to no make up
for someone thats been constantly self posting you need to lift your game.
from what I can see, your costume's really nice. I think maybe the paint could use a little work but I think the glare is just making it look weird.
you should try and style the wig a bit more drastically as well, but otherwise I like it. Wish I was at AX so I coulda snapped a picture!
>ref for anyone who doesnt see whats wrong with this outfit
I know I've been self posting too much when I shouldn't be mediocre work.l,but figured better to post here than in the self post. Torso is 3 pieced but didn't realize the mid piece fell over the bottom in the pics. You have valid points for everything else though.Wig was prestyled with upward wift already on the epic cosplay Hermes should have gotten clips to add more fibers to the wig to really flesh out the hair horn more, and this is my first cosplay I've done with any makeup at all so yeah I expected it to not be as great
It's probably the glare in the pic but the paint job on this could have been better.Tried some different things with the paint on this and had to fix a few things before con.
It looks like some of the foam underneath is showing where the paint has cracked. If you have plans to repaint it, I suggest using FlexBond as a base layer, as it will give any paint put on top of it better flexibility to prevent cracks.
That said, your armor is still one of the best sets out there and with some diligence its few problems could be easily resolved.
pretty much, the weathering on the armour is good though I think if its going to slide around youll need to make sure it doesnt.
Make up threads here are quite decent when it comes to advice. You should invest in a good base and some eyeliner, contacts if you can. mainly i think its the eyebrows though.
Yeah I didn't use the makeup thread at all here.I only used some tuts I have saved from a tutorial dump thread.I've gotten pointers from some friends so I'll probably try it out and then go to the makeup thread with what I got. Thanks for the help man!
Wax your brows down, doesn't have to be pencil thin but at least half size
Pull back the wig a bit, Silas is a bit fore-heady. Style the front bangs into bigger spike clusters and make them slightly more random in size.
Yea, most of the people in the group are usually pretty reliable so it was a little surprising that it fell through haha
Yea, it was one of the first props I've made and my skills are non-existent haha; I'm working on it!
It's a Maki wig from Love Live that I styled! I originally got it from Kucos on Taobao.
I actually was looking at Maki wigs too! I got a Maki wig from Lucaille that I liked the color for, but the side bangs were so short.. I cut the back okay, but I wasn't sure how to add length to the sides. I'm not sure if you had this problem. Sorry for unloading my woes!
You're a very cute Sakura! I like your make up, and I hope to see your reshoot pictures soon.
Figured I'd try here before then help thread. Any idea how I could make the bagel bracelet things that Hayato wears?
I've recently started making my thar have but so far I've only done the Cape. I do need to take a inch off it cause it's to long
Gonna do Elise for Katsu and wanted to start early on her wig, what method do you guys recommend for the pigtails?
Problem with something like this is fitting your fist through it. I'd use a few layers of thinner EVA foam that you can shave/sculpt down by sanding or a carving knife then seal/paint
As for pattern you have two options I think
- Large circle with a slit on it, since the whole thing is flexible and will fit tightly you can bend it to fit it on and it will pop back into place
- Larger inner circle you can fit your fist through, on the inside of that circle glue an elastic band, that will hold it in place
Make a big tall cone out of thin eva foam, re-enforce the inners with some cardboard. Then wrap wefts around that and attach to your wig.
I made ones similar to this for henry out of eva, its basically a big ring of EVA with the top/bottom parts added in with a strip of eva with a lot of darts cut into it, then cut a hole that just fit my wrist after attaching the strip. It actually worked okay but really meticulous.
Ill post photos if I can dig them out again
Gonna think through all of these methods and see which one I could work with the best, thanks anons!
Also, concerning her bodice, I was thinking of using some type of leather/vinyl to differentiate it from the rest of her outfit (I plan to use some type of cotton blend and other fabrics of the sort), thoughts on this?
9098816 anon again
Pleather is terrible imo, vinyl can be ok depending on what you get. Real leather could look great if you have the right stuff to work with it and don't mind the price tag.
Should have plenty of time before katsu
Pretty good but yea, what >>9100737 said, get some protein and do some lifting.
Self posting I think is fine as long as you say you are, its the post + self praise or spam that's irritating.
I have a few things I could shamelessly self post but a few Ive already dumped in other threads before
Go for it! Corrin is a fully customizable character so it's fine. They have a super recognizable outfit too so you'll be good. I personally would love to see more pink haired Corrins since all of mine had that haha.
Anyone have any tips for doing the Sky Knight pauldrons? I've got EVA foam cut out for them at the moment, but I'm looking at the rigging again and it's throwing me for a loop.
How should the rope work to keep each scale at the right height? Do I need to tie knots and then tie another length of rope to the scale below it?
These boots make me so damn happy. Niles has the most amazing redic boots and everyone always makes them knee highs instead.
He's got nothing on Shura's boots. And we know how much everyone wants those Boots
I dont know what your standards are like anon but I like this one.
not really fond of the wig but the outfit looks okay
I always wanted to see someone do a cosplay of FEA girls (other than Lissa) as the cleric class
I follow this girl that did Reina, I like how she did the chest piece
Im using magnets to hold them together and just stringing it for aesthetic. You can see I haven't cut the string in this picture yet.
The magnets are basically like glue and will hold if im not doing wild movements. This also makes it much easier to pack.
What should I do for Flora's apron? There's a pattern on it as if it's lace but there's no seam. Should I use lace or no?
never got to wear this at ax like planned but here's my belka selfie!
Just curious, different anon, not cosplaying love live, but the laser cut/hot knife method-- does that only work on synthetic fibers such as polyester? I'm assuming the heat melts the edges so that it doesn't fray all over the place and look like shite?
I wouldn't go as far as waxing them. Just clean them up with a pair of tweezers, and learn some basic brow shaping techniques with makeup. Also, just invest in a lace-front wig. They can almost instantly guarantee your cosplay goes from a C- to a B+
Pretty much. It's just a a manual version of what the laser cutter does. It will only work on synthetic materials or maybe a blend with a high poly count. Personally I laser cut and my go to is Casa Satin. My biggest problem is getting singes on white fabric because it doesn't come out. You'll probably have to get a rhythm down for making cuts without singing fabric
How do you guys choose what hair color to use for child units? Default to the hair color of their parent (the one that doesn't change)? Just pick one that looks nice?
I always do the parents hair color or the hair color on their official art (if it's different than the parents like Mitama's). Unless you are with the parent units I think it looks very weird to do a different color
unless I'm specifically in a group, I'd do default hair (whatever is in their official art).
if you DO insist on doing an inherited color, don't be pushy with cosplayers of your parent of choice.
There's the Fire Emblem Cipher card. You can probably find the full art of this if you do some searching around.
A clean version of what other anon posted.
You'll notice that her beserker class is just an upgraded version of the regular class; note the same understructure.
Couple of questions here.
So, I am looking to buy a Lucina cosplay online. I've got a person I can commission it from but I am waiting for them to respond.
I was just wondering if someone here had any experience with cosplaying Lucina and had any tips on what type of wig to get? If I should just get something off ebay or try the Arda wigs (I find them a little thick at times). Also if anyone had any experience buying cosplay online.
why not contribute some content instead of just bumping
I was going to commission a Lucina costume to be personally made to me but it's been a week and the commissioner has not responded to any of my messages. So now I'm looking at ebay...
Anyone got any opinion on these?
They're decent. I think both would need upgrades to make them worthwhile, like making your own shoulder armor because those ones are floppy vinyl.
Dangerous-Ladies on storenvy sell Lucina things you could use to replace the floppy vinyl brooch and belt buckles. You have to paint them yourself but they look nicer than printed vinyl.
Neither seems to include boots. Where will you get boots to match fabrics? That might be a problem.
I originally bought a set of boots on taobao which I was going to use for a reference for my commissioner, but now that's kinda bust. I can remake the shoulder armors myself probably, I just wanted to save on time and costs. I could potentially make the belt buckle as well.
that Azura looks off to me. dunno why.
i'm gonna upload the ones i took in AX 2016
Sink your fangs into this. Perfect for your next Robin cosplay.
I would love to cosplay Setsuna and Felicia. Mitama is a nice option too.
Too bad I can't sew for shit.
If you're gonna wear both in one day, wear Camilla first so you don't have lines on your chest from your binder. Idk though, those are both involved costumes to put on, and wearing both in 1 day seems like it would be exhausting.
I used the same vinyl I used to create all my other gold pieces with the front four pieces backed with incredibly stiff interfacing. Worked quite well, in my opinion, and also allowed me to move my neck unlike a worbla piece.
my only gripe about fabric-only collars is that some people choose too thin of a gold fabric. I'd get a gold stretch vinyl and cover each foam piece in it.
Any other Kinu cosplays out there?
>Messy hot glue application
Nothing wrong with using foam, they just could have done a neater job adhering the pieces.
It looks like foamies sealed with gesso and painted.
Arm pieces look like they are from thicker floor mat foam.
it barely resembles the actual class, and the craftsmanship is pretty bad on both. both of those just look too lazy to make the actual dress, but also too lazy to make the armor for the defaults.
it's a shame because well done alt classes and promotions are great. there are so many outfit options even just for awakening and fates, and yet people tend to stick with base classes or lazy shit.
What >>9170384 said, it barely resembles the class at all. And I agree, doing an alt class or promotion should be done more often (especially with some effort) and is also a great way to stand out from Lucina nr. 50
pic related is the official concept art of the bride class (warming: it's pretty big, sorry)
And by that you mean the extremely underwhelming ears?
>Wah stop liking what I don't like
Nice obvious b8 m8
tfw you just want these
