Can we discuss the j-fashion show? Overall I liked it, but some models looked pretty weird. And I would have liked to see more styles.

Lot's of things didn't went as planned.
Models got stuck in traffic, models cancelled last minute, and one got sick.
I think considering the fact so many things went wrong they did pretty well.
The mori with the wings wasn't even wearing mori but I heard she didn't wear what was planned. The brolita was a last minute thing cos models didn't show up.
So yeah, I liked it.

Wouldn't surprise me to be honest as there were multiple A2 calls (gepaste spoed). I saw loads of groups drinking vodka, amaretto, rum and cheap Scotch. Around 4am there were a lot of girls sitting alone in the hallways looking absolutely overheated and exhausted. Actually checked on a couple of them and gave them some water. That is before I stopped caring about people who aren't able to handle their hard liquor/drugs.

Odds are they will. Several steward friends of mine told me they had received several requests from dealers to allow them to sell more 18+ items like onaholes, vibrators and such. While it hasn't been discussed yet, the general response was positive and the idea is to keep in a separated 18+ section to keep the con family friendly. My biggest problem however is that it's extremely easy to trade your badge and I would prefer to see (paper) 18+ wristbands.

Honestly, even if they won't allow adult toys to be sold I would still be in favour of putting 18+ stuff in a separated area, or at least out of direct sight. There was one dealer who put all his hentai DVDs and games with the covers facing up on a table. And I'm not talking about some tame "OMG my teacher is hot" hentai, I'm talking about "chained up elf girls with a broken facial expressions, ripped clothes and tentacles tightly wrapped around their milk makers and making their way into what's left of their panties" hentai. I'm just sensitive to overly sweet smells, especially ones that linger around for too long. The same happens when someone decides to sit next to me while wearing extremely sweet perfumes. Haven't seen the friday's competitions though

Was it just me or was the programme really badly divided over the different days this year. Literally all the stuff I wanted to go to this year was on Saturday (with several things overlapping), while both on Friday and Sunday I was just roaming between the attractions that lasted the entire con.

So is Dutch Comic Con, complete with an high entree fee, mediocre guests overcharging for an autograph or picture, vendors selling shit at convention prices and fangirls screaming over all the disgusting Pop Vinyl figures they bought.
But hey, for what's its worth, I find Mechanik in Antwerp to be one of the best comic book stores I've ever visited. Lots of books in stock, staff actually knows what they're selling and they always get confused whenever I say "Fijne dag nog!" as I leave.

Wa-lolita is actually very disliked by the lolita community for being a bad combo, since kimono is a very vertical style while lolita is poofy. It rarely every looks good, especially the bad dresses from China. Wearing wa-lolita is like wearing socks with sandals. They just don't work well in combination. I had a great time this year. Food was good and less expensive, company was good (but that wasn't their doing), a broad selection of events and they even brought the wrestling guys back.
I didn't like Deshima much, they feel kinda washed out, repeating themselves. Their VJ was a welcome addition though.
Anime Open Stage was cute, but needs work. Wanted to know more of their tech guy, but he failed to show up for his interview.

I have seen the interview with the CCCC winners and jumped in halfway the next day with some of their staff.
They need to give it more care indeed but I like the talkshow setting (and hanging on the couch when nobody used it). It is something different from what you normally see at convention panels. Usually with these panels I want to leave after 10 minutes, but this time I would have liked to see more.

Now that I think of it, it is probably why I like this convention most. Each year there is one new hidden gem of an event or workshop I stumble into.

I think I loved that EVA 1 cosplay the most. It was very impressive. Other than that, there are very little cosplays that caught my eye or stayed in my head.

I personally really enjoyed the cgl meet. But most of the weekend felt a bit like a humid blur. I think I've lost some weight due to sweating.... the costumes didn't help.

Someone showed me the video on Monday and I too have to say that something should be done with it. It was not some comment in a longer stream, it was 20 minutes of lashing out to several people and one in particular. There were even mild threats in there if I remember correctly. Lol, we were not the only ones XD. My gf and I also got one, but we went to the desk (she kept whining about not being sure if we were allowed in, on saturday) to ask, and they said it was a printing error and they will just pretend we didnt ask anything.
