Harry Potter thread
Focus on house uniforms rather than character cosplay specifically.
Let's get some inspiration in here

On-model/lolita version OK
I'll start with a small dump
I made my own robe pattern and I really like it. If I remade it today I'd use real wool, as well as add pockets and a proper closing (both omitted because of time). It's fine for cosplay, but using wool would make it a bit more wearable. It's a really good project for moving away from beginner projects, as well as for pattern alteration if you're new to it.
I'm probably going to make a Gryffindor one and cosplay Percy at some point. We'll see.

Do you recommend a base pattern to work from?

I just traced mine from a hoodie I liked. Pic is wildly not to scale; I added 5cm to the front/hood and 6cm to each of the sides to make the "wedges". The wedges make the drape a million times better and the added fabric to the front means more of your lining will show. Everything else was just adjusted on feel. Again, pretty good project to move from like, T-shirts to something a bit bigger and more challenging. There's a lot of detail seams you can make.
I remain a bug dumb when it comes to forgetting pics lmao.
Sorry if it's weird size-wise or flipped or something. Phoneposting can be a bother.
