To add to this, I'm pretty sure this girl is a scammer.
She's listed it on LM now for $300, but if you look on her page she originally bought the full jsk set (with socks and clip) for $280, and the dress has rips she does not mention.
Leaving her name so people don't buy from her.
>>
>>9022655
Or she could just be really naive and think she got a good deal on the dress and it's worth more. I dunno. Sounds more like a stupid person than a scammer.
>>
>>9022666
Is it still scamming if it's unintentional, though?
>>
>>9022666
The price thing could be naivety yeah, but the original listing she bought from mentions and shows the dress's rips while she conveniently leaves that info out. Seems pretty intentional to me.
>>
>>9022698
>forgot to list damage while trying to sell the dress she has for more than she bought it for

k.
>>
>>9022698
You are her or one of her friend's aren't you?
It doesn't matter if she forgot, it is still wrong to sell an item with damage if you don't mention it.
>>
>>9022698
That's false advertising you idiot.
>>
>>9022698
are you a fucking idiot?
>>
>>9022698
It seriously blows my fucking mind that people are actually this dumb. This bitch is a scammer. Shut the fuck up.
>>
>>9022698
Lol even if she forgot that still means she's a shit seller. Would you pay for a dress for $500, get it, and it had all these rips, and the seller just tells you "OOPS I FORGOT ABOUT IT"? Would your response seriously be like "that's no big deal"
>>
>>9022686
>>9022698 is trying to sound like me, but I'm >>9022666. Usually on LM all the big scammers/price jackers have hundreds of feedback so that's why I didn't instantly think it was a scammer, but it could very well be if they're avoiding the damages.
>>
>>9022733
Three whole feedback is a lot of feedback? Okay
>>
>>9022733
kek, nice trying to make it seem credible.

Obviously because 'made in France' means it's more loli than all that unkawaii stuff made in other European countries.
>>
>>9023191

I'd argue that 'made in Britain' would be the most loli considering the fashion is based predominately on victorian era clothing.
>>
>>9023196
It's not based on any era. There are a number of inspirations, not one that is the basis. Newfag.

shipping and customs are hell expensive to us, especially here in the eastern part
shipping anything here from the US is a good 40 dollars, plus my country charges 20% tax on used clothes if they catch them in customs
>>

Probably because the GBP is strong af against most other currencies, so buying shit from overseas would be pretty cheap for them.

>>
>>9033278
I know that, but there are a lot of surfaces that are damaged by heat but not water/condensation/steam
>>
>>9033268
I think anon was referring to the possible leaking of water from condensation on cold drinks, and less about hot drinks. Where I live coasters are marketed to stop rings from forming on tables due to condensation, not really intended for hot drinks.
>>
>>9023249
>>9023170
I totally agree that the buyer has the right to resell for however they want. I was the anon who sold a dress for 3x the price in the Aliexpress thread and some anon got salty over it. Tough luck, but if some idiot doesn't do research to see the actual competing values and we have someone willing to pay more for it? Score.
>>
>>9033926
It's ripped, she doesn't have the right to hide damage and mark it up.
>>
Why the fuck were comments about fucking COASTERS deleted? Seriously WHY
>>
>>9033938
Yeah she does. She owns it. Its shitty not to tell people about the rips and thus the people can possibly get a refund or have the account banned, but honestly she has every single right to mark it however she wants and if people still buy it, that's their fault. Doesn't mean it is a scam either. It means you know how to market products to people who know no better. Stop crying over a dress you can't have. Just deal with it.
>>
>>9033971
But she doesn't have the right to lie about the dress and hide the rips. The issue isn't that she is marking it up as much as she is doing so while lying about it's condition.
>>
>>9033971
>buyers fault

because seller neglects to mention damage???
>>
>>9034001
>>9033994
Stay salty anons. She's shitty for what she did, but it isn't just her. If anyone is buying something high priced and not getting enough photos they should ask and also price check other listings for prices to compare it.

Like I said, if damage is discovered they can report it and ask for refunds or the account, depending on how bad the issue is, could be banned or put on hold as punishment.

Which is why as a seller, you should make it clear that it's damaged and show pictures. To cover your ass.
She's just as stupid as the people buying it.

>>
>>9028971

Late reply, but as I Brit I feel our customs aren't as bad as over in Europe. Sure, if they catch you you're left with a nasty customs bill PLUS Parcelforce's ripoff fee. However, our customs tend to be fooled easier/don't give as many shits. If you have your parcel's value marked down, our customs is less likely to question it. Over in Europe however, they'll demand invoices proving the amount.

From the sale post. I'm just copy and pasting it

Custom plus sized dress. Fits bust from 42 inches up to 56 inches fully stretched. Lots of shirring! Has back ties. Hips and waist are free size since the dress is a high cut. The dress length is 33 inches and is short and will need to be worn with an underskirt

>33 inches length
more like 33cm

Had to pick up a dress on a 3 hour round trip after booking two days off work for Parcelforce to lie about attempted delivery then on the next 3 hour trip it took an hour to pay the **$300** charge on a $500 dress because the staff didn't know how to work the computer system or how to calculate change.

This could have been an okayish coord with some changes but dear god, that skirt. She looks like one of those people who think they don't need a petti because they're 'naturally fluffy' and view concrit in the same light as Hitler.
>>
>>9060191
>>9060205
I honestly was assuming she had ordered a far too small dress and then had someone rig a properly fitting bodice out of the skirt portion then just staple the remaining 15" or so back on. You're saying she actually had this intentionally made so short?
>>
As someone who JUST got into the fashion, how can you guys tell just by crappy photos if it's a replica or not? I feel like I'm totally going to get swindled into buying one for double the prize cause the seller said it wasn't a replica.
>>
>>9059860
It looks like what happened was she either ordered a jsk and made a dress from the skirt portion and salvaged the bodice for parts, or ordered a skirt and similarly just made a dress from that. If you look at the length, that kind of looks like the same length you'd get from a skirt.

This could've been a neat idea in theory but it was horrendously executed. I think a better way would've been to make a new bodice, and then make an open skirt/bustle skirt kind of thing and use the same fabric used to make a new bodice to make a tiered thing where the skirt opens up.
>>
>>9060830
It makes no sense for her to do this bc Souffle Song does custom orders for literally any size, as you can see
>>
>>9060803
lurk more
>>
>>9060841
I didn't know this was a souffle song dress. I agree with you, then, however - it's also possible she bought this secondhand. Another possibility is she bought directly from taobao and didn't understand there was custom sizing - I know the first time I was on their taobao storefront I don't think the custom sizing was immediately apparent to me/someone who doesn't read chinese. (at least, that's how it was a year or so ago)
>>
>>9060797
>>9060841

Wait I'm confused now. Did she do this herself, or was this what Souffle Song gave her when she asked for custom measurements? My guess is maybe when she gave the skirt length they misinterpreted it and thought it was the full length of the dress, if this is what happened. If this is how their custom sizing services goes, yikes, I'm a little nervous trying to order something custom then.
>>
>>9060803
There are threads and discussions on this every so often, biggest giveaways are blurry/off-color prints, wrong lace and buttons (brands tend to have custom lace/buttons and replicas don't), and lower quality materials.

But yeah, lurk more.
>>
>>9054050
As a fatty myself, I've never understood the logic behind ripping the shirring out, shirring is your friend if you're overweight, especially while you're losing weight. Why the fuck would you take out the elastic??
>>
>>9060803
Comparing it to pictures of the actual dress can help e.g. the day dream carnival dress above, a quick google search of the dress will show you that the overlay is no where near that shiny in any other photo and desu looks much cheaper.
>>
>>9060803
And asking for more pictures never hurt anyone, things like the tag, lace, buttons, clear close up of the print to see if it's crisp ect.
>>
>>9061169
I think this is only done by people who are too big even for shirring and have no intention of losing any weight. To be fair, if they could get additional fabric that the dress is made of, it would look nicer to have a panel rather than shirring. Shirring is easy modo for making a piece fit as many people as possible and the bunched up fabric can look bad which is why it's often obscured by corset lacing. But of course alterations are rarely executed well and you have to buy additional pieces and sacrifice them to get more of the same fabric.
>>
>>9061169
Because this way the dress will fit even bigger.Maxed out shirring is still a tad smaller than removed shirring.
>>
>>9059860
Hahahahahahaahh even the dowels on her headdress are fat.
>>
>>9061169
all of this.

Im also a fatty thats trying to lose weight and I fucking love shirring and knowing that my dress will only fit better the more weight I lose, shirring allows me to buy dresses now that will last me even when I hit my goal weight :)

>>
>>9069613
Like $100 tops. I understand your hard work, but you are also selling something used and worn several times. You honestly probably didn't spend even $500 let alone $350 on this cosplay, so to then resell it for such a ridiculous price is only going to make people resent your cosplays as well as your skills in making them, but this is mostly bought and weathered and altered from thrift stores or cheap online alternatives, not handmade except for maybe the hand. You need to be realistic. Its like having a garage sale. You don't go into that expecting to sell that $400 flatscreen tv you got in sale during Black Friday for $1,200. Especially since you will be charging shipping as well.

>>
>>9069653
You have fair points! I hadn't thought about it that way. This is obviously my first time selling something like this, so I kind of just went with it when my friends all said to do $500. I even thought $350 was too high originally, and they were like "No you're selling yourself short!". I think all together the cosplay was around $300. Thank you for your opinion! I'll definitely bring the price down.

>>9069709
And nah it's okay. I don't really mind it as much as I used to when I first got posted. I just take it with a grain of salt. If anything when I get posted negatively on here, I try to turn it into something positive and motivational to improve myself and my cosplays.
>>
>>9069719
$300 on it basically means bringing it down to $100. Especially for such simple pieces. Sorry, but thats how reselling cosplay works for something so simple. For all anyone knows there could be tears on it or parts that need some paint fixing from the wear. Also discoloration. You are also more likely to get a buyer at that price. Any higher and I don't think anyone will bite. Especially since Fallout is old at this point.

>buy from your own country whenever you can
Why? If I know my country doesn't make the best product or the cheapest, why would I spend money on it? Obviously I'm not going to buy Chinese garbage just because it's cheaper, but some things are only available in certain countries. Or, as I've often encountered, just plain better in other countries.

I like the 'could be a kodona outfit'. It IS part of a kodona outfit- either you say it's kodona or you don't mention it at all, because anyone with half a brain can see that.

again with people selling body line for more than it's worth!!

What's Kodona? Probably a stupid question but I've never heard that word before

It's not the worst I've seen and it's decently priced.

From some other photos the seller posted, it looks as though she purposefully had them make it that short so she could stick one of those multi-tiered chiffon underskirts underneath.
