Oh yeah.. I watched like half of the first episode then thought it sucked, so I never watched again. Lol. All these stuck in video game world series are just so boring. Nothing beats the original .Hack//Sign. The only other one I liked which technically isn't a video game world, but is still a 'game world' is No Game, No Life.

That one with Kirito for boring about 7 episodes in. I couldn't stand it any longer. The plot line was really crappy and focused more on dating than actually story telling.

former vol here. When you sign up for hours ask for any open slots that are in need of two vols (like door guards), if there are the staff should be able to accommodate. also:

- first pick up your badge then head to vols, where they will create a profile for you in the database and assign you hours based on slots available
- ALWAYS keep your timesheet on you, since it needs signatures from staff heads/seconds to verify you did your hours. even if you have your hours accounted for in the db, the signatures are what count.
- if you do in excess of 20 hours you can earn prizes
- it's up to you how you want to spread out your hours, if you want to do 5 hours a day or more early on to free up the last day or two.
- if there is an event you want to attend let the staff know and they'll work around it.
- expect your refund by check 30-60 days after the con.

I work at a different Ike's, not sure about the quality of this one, but the sandwiches are good where I work. The menu isn't actually secret, it's just all online and split among stores, they only show a handful in store.

Try the Jeremy Fish And Chips, it's some good shit. Shredded chicken, Yellow BBQ sauce, mozzarella sticks, bacon, and a bag of chips. One sandwich is big enough for two people to split with some chips.

Anyone know if you're allowed to get a 1-day badge on Friday and volunteer 5 hours, then upgrade it to a full weekend badge for $25?

Seems better than buying the full weekend and having to work 20 hours (minimum 5h/day)

AFAIK there are no such upgrades, you'd need to buy another badge. Keep in mind every badge is assigned a unique ID with a set number of days associated with it.

Also you don't have to work 5 hours a day, you can work as many/little hours a day as you'd like. Example: split it up as 8/8/2/2 and you're done. Or you can haul ass and work 12/8/0/0 and have the rest of the weekend free. Keep in mind it's a 24 hour con so overnight shifts are available, also if you can make it to Day Zero volunteer at Registration and you can earn extra hours there before even picking up your badge.

You dont need earlier revenue when you bring in the numbers they have been. They may be releasing Fanime tickets to the general public earlier too. Also, San Jose relies in Fanime, the largest con taking place in the city, as revenue as well. The city even named a day after them as of last year. The convention center will hold their spot no matter what, so early revenue won't matter too much.

Fanime AA staff being dicks apparently. Sounds like organization is a hot mess, no responses from staff about anything, and it sounds like they're powertripping.

I could be angrier about it but then I remembered that staff is a bunch of incompetent weebs who are stupid enough to actually volunteer hours of their time running an artist alley poorly to get hotel space and a badge to an anime con. I probably sound salty, but oh well.

They just sent out an email saying that the waitlist is closed, which isn't really crappy, except that I know for a fact that a couple of tables opened up like literally within the last day or two.

No one's gotten any actual communication from them in like the last week.

Someone I know asked if they could check into the AA with a vendor's badge instead of an artist's badge and they canceled the person's table without precedent or refund.

The last one is the biggest one because it sounds like fanime staff is just coming up with weird reasons to kick artists out. THe no refund thing is pretty bullshit, though, because they didn't have it written anywhere that they could just take your table back without warning or refunding your money.

Ok, since i've gotten like five reminders and warnings in the past week i have to say something

Recently the USGS talked about how the san andreas fault is locked and we may be prone to some earthquakes.
Just for safety, remember the big thing is to find something to get under, and away from glass and try not to run too much. most of the injuries are sprained ankles and fall damage (as the earth is ya know, moving).
