I love it! It definitely seems like the girl herself is a lolita (especially since we get to see what looks like her comm, or at least part of it) But I know for sure any self-respecting lolita would spare her BTSSB dresses the wear and tear of a night like that... maybe some Bodyline or cheap MAM instead.

It is common that foreigners (in this case a French director) go to Mexico and all they see and portray is drugs and the "hood" life, and it always seems to be the only thing they are interested in.
*Maybe* this one director did not want to do the same, but it is just a so damn common pattern that it is hard for local Lolitas to give up the benefit of the doubt to this video.
Seen from far, yes it may be just another not-so-original video, but... Experience keep dragging us back to the same conclusion. When I saw it all I could think of was that Dutch guy who used to organize tours for Dutch people to see the bad part of Mexico, even if the invited people didn't want to.
Similar case to the Lolita drama and their hate for sissies who want to be women and all they see and believe is that women are prostitutes and pornstars. There may be a honest man who likes the fashion, but experience gives bias to Lolitas who can't stop judging. Maybe a far fetched analogy, but is the best I can do

if you don't think about the setting and just see it through a perspective about a girl rebelling against society and living her life however she wants, (for example, wearing lolita, drinking, doing drugs, and being reckless) then it's an interesting video. in relation to Momoko's spirit in the beginning of the film, it also gives off a Kamikaze Girls flair.

However, considering the setting of Mexico and how people tend to stereotype the people and the area like the awful regions of the country, it can be upsetting to a lot of people since this video just goes by those stereotypes instead of keeping it neutral by not including a specific setting or using something different. Whether the production actually meant to do this or not can't be determined but that's why some people are upset with it.

As a mexican lolita myself, I thought of it first as the first view and really enjoy it. I still listen to this all the time but I can understand why people don't like it for the second reason and I do wish they clarified that they didnt mean to offend by that either. Daniela kinda did a FUCKL YOU GUYS I LOVE THIS VIDEO when handling the topic which was really pathetic lol but it's whatever. IMO it doesnt give a bad look towards lolitas unless you really reach for it.

I like it. Kind of makes me feel like she hates her life where she is, kind of like that anime Shiki where that one girl wore lolita a lot of hated living in her town. Even if this girl in the music video had a comm, that didn't mean she really felt like her life belonged where it was which I can then forgive the whole drinking and smoking. It is also a different country. Maybe smoking and drinking in lolita isn't as big of a deal to her and it is merely clothes.
