Hmm. I think too short a petti wouldn't give it enough volume and too long a petti would be too long. I would definitely look into horse hair to give it that extra poof.

Pretty sure horsehair would ruin that skirt. Horsehair is for ruffles and would wreck those pleats.
If or if not a petti will work depends on how much fabric is there to begin wig (in other words, how deep the pleats are). If there is enough fabric for a petti to flair it our tastefully then. great. If not the pleats will bloat in a very ugly way.
Have you received this yet or is that just a sale pic?
Once you have it in hand you may be able to get something to work but fiddling the position of the skirt in relation to your hips and getting more visual volume that way but you'd have to do trial and error.
I will say that if you do go with a petticoat it should not at all be visible.

Yeah, color matching them was so hard. They looked more purple in the stock photos, and didn't realize how blue they were until I got them. And I couldn't find a fabric close enough that was nice enough. So I ended up painting over them.

The wand was actually given to me as gift from a kid when I was working at a haunt, but the haunt company bought their from FlashingBlinkyLights.com I think.
Party City should have basic ones, and maybe Toys R Us? If those aren't close to you online would be your best bet.

I've paid $450 for a fuku from a student getting a degree in fashion and ended up with unfinished hems, many hanging strings, and pieces of velcro not sewn or glued or stuck on to stay.

On the flip side, I've paid $300 for a fuku and it was the best fuku I've ever worn. Fit me perfectly, skirt hangs gorgeously, and everything is snaps or sewn in velcro.

Look through your options and do a lot of research if you want a nice fuku. Ask them what materials they use and how it stretches.

Yup. Still got it after three or four years. Worn a dozen times too. Mostly machine washed. Dry cleaned first few times because fear.
Heck of an outfit. Got it in a little shop in the West Edmonton Mall. Comes with gloves, a crappy tiara, and bootcovers if you're one of those scouts.

Actually, giving it a second look. Definitely purchased. The reason the hems are so wonky is because she bought one of those ones that does the dip in front on the skirt instead of being level all the way around. So she re-hemmed only in the front (you can see the original hem stitching in some of the pleats on the right hand side).

I remember bring SO impressed with her wig and then giving her major kudos for apparently dying her hair.
Back then lace fronts weren't a thing yet and a lot of the SM wigs were just shit. So the fact that someone made it work was really something special.

Uranus and Venus should definitely have switched. Venus' bow is super droopy and ALL of their bangs are incredibly flat and not styled.
On the plus side their Moon is cute and petite and their Pluto is tanner than the rest.

Having casting calls for a cosplay group, taking control of the A-kon Sailor Moon Meet-Up out of the hands of the group that has been running it for years so that they could brand it with "Hosted by Luxedolls" and all around trying to act like they are some professional extension of the SM brand while behaving in an snobbish fashion that shames everything Sailor Moon stands for has agitated assorted pockets of the local community.

I'd say more except I'm certain that at least one of them lurks here (not including the other that came in and selfposted poorly last thread).

I usually like selfposts, especially in Sailor Threads where we can see all the different ways that people craft their fukus. However, I dislike the constant self-promotion this group does and seeing them anonymously pretend to faun over themselves is irritating.

Their self-promoting was a little much a couple months ago but they seem to have slowed down with that. Let them do what they wanna do and just ignore them if you dislike them.
I actually enjoy seeing their photos and support all Sailor Moon groups who don't look like complete garbage and who actually put effort into their fukus.

I've been following them for a while and other than the "casting calls" and whatnot, I have not seen nor heard a single instance of them trying to act like they own the name Sailor Moon or are any sort of extension of the Sailor Moon name. I've only met them once and as far as I know, the girls I dislike are no longer part of the group. It isn't foam, I've seen others use the same antique too. I think the back was just replaced to match the anime? You can see an empty screw hole near the base of the green back panel.

Yea, it was posted on a personal instagram. The way it was phrased was something like "Luxedolls shirts!", which was ambiguous. Sounded like one of those teaser type things some cosplayers do to try to be cute before they announce something.

It's really obvious that they just used the Saprklypipsi tutorial to make the fukus. They do look nice and I like that they were all made by one person or together or something so they are super uniform. But it's kind of annoying that they act like it's something special… anyone can use the same tutorial and get the same general results.

They had a special fuku sale and were charging like $400 for one. While fukus are a pretty complicated thing to make, once you've made one and figured out all the quirks, they're pretty easy to make. $400 is pretty high for anything that's not Eternal or something else super elaborate.
