Turns out I have some staff tuts saved.
I would take this one as a base since it could use much more sanding and overall finishing.
Here's some with more words over pictures.

Kind of off topic: is it any harder to walk around in shoes when you cover up the bottoms with fabric? I'm going to cover up a pair of heels but I'm worried about my clumsy ass falling down some stairs or something if the grippy stuff is covered in fabric. Would putting some hot glue on the bottom help with traction?
>>8948086
You could just buy some rubber to glue on..
>>8948086
you can actually buy like the rubber boot bottoms, or the material in sheets that you can cut and glue in place.
>>8947766
Would you even be able to walk in these?
>>8948086
It would be easier to just use elastic over the bottom of the shoe as opposed to fabric. Not as hard to clean either.
Anyone have the tut where someone made Pauldrons out of PVC pipe corners
>>8948086
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss/190-0149277-6239823?url=search-alias%3Dhpc&field-keywords=+Shoe+Bottom+Cover
buy some of these. and off to the help thread with thee
>>8948355
The base shoe wasn't changed at all just the look of the angles from the outside. Dur.
Can you walk in normal heels? then yes, you can walk in these.
>>8948037
Bless you. This is just what I needed and I didn't even know it.
Anyone got any guides on how to do really spiky hair for wigs? Looking to do a really voluminous wig but with thin spikes.
Think more glam/hair metal than say DBZ/Kingdom Hearts which tend to have much thicker spikes.
where did all of the really large tuts go..?
>>8948906
Who is the character, anon? I'm planing on doing Jareth the Goblin King eventually and could use some tuts like that.
Unfortunately i don't have any tutorials, but you may have to switch between teasing and straightening the fibers and then using small spritzes of hairspray and heat to keep things in order.
>>8949049
What do you mean by large, as in size or like 3-part tutorials?
>>8949132
size; I was looking through this and all of the really large size tutorials suddenly 404'd
Anyone have a good one on cutting bangs? Preferably when it comes to cutting that "V" shape?
>pic related
>>8949132
DS from Bastard! if that helps. I love the character designs from it even if it's old.
>>8950108
I would advice you to just thin out the bangs first and then cut into shape. Thinned bangs always look better and when there's not 666 layers of hair, it's easier to cut it into shape. And about the cutting part, if I want V-shaped bangs, I just cut it in a V-shape with my scissors tilted, sorry it's a bit hard to explain and I have no concrete tutorial to offer...
does anyone have any sweet lolita accessory tutorials,? the yeah lolita links don't work for me for some reason...
>>8951252
*fyeah
>>8948086
I've put pleather on the bottom of shoe covers for more grip or glue velcro around the edge of the sole and attach your cover without even covering the bottom of the shoe.
>>8947933
im doing sakura this summer so any tutorials to help would be super appreciated!! Thanks for uploading the ones so far. There are a few I haven't seen before
>>8951428
Me too! Is there anything in particular you wanted?
I'm deep into magical girl hell so I'll help if I have the tut.
>>8951445
Probably anything to do with the outfit. I know Madoka petti tuts help. Maybe something on how to make the beret? I'm also open to any sailor moon or Madoka tuts. I have to cosplay all magical girls at one point desu
>>8948086
hot glue kinda works, but doing felt and hot glue works better.
You may still bust your butt if you run on slippery surfaces. My friend did that in her papi outfit on stage...
Posted this in the help thread but it works here too: does anyone have a tutorial specifically for prosthetics that go well into the hairline; or even a search term for what I'm looking for? Pic related kind of shows what I mean, but what I'm specifically looking for is more like a normal wig, with a big scar/bald patch that goes into the hair on one side.
>>8951848
You'll have to apply a bald cap, then specific shape lace hair pieces to get that effect. Then prosthetics on top. Or switch the hair with the prosthetics order whichever is easiest to apply. You would sculpt the prosthetics on a head cast as if the hair isn't there
>>8952656
Forgot to say, there aren't really any tutorials for that sort of thing because it's such a professional skill. But if you're serious, take a look at the Stan Winston School of Effects online courses :)
Does anyone have any good applique tutorial?
>>8948086
Home Depot sells grip tape that works well for this purpose
>>8952659
Well shit. I figured it took a lot of skill, but was hopeful someone would have shared their methods. I'll take a look at those courses and if I want to attempt this; thanks anon!
>>8953511
Oh also, some good free resources on prosthetics are Stuart Bray and Freakmo's youtube channels :)
Anyone have a good 'fake' sword tutorial? I want to make Satsuki's sword Bakuzan for PAX East, and it cannot "It cannot be sharp or pointy enough to cut or pierce someone with moderate pressure"
>>8951848
You're going to need to make a mould from your face and then a positive. From the positive, you'll be making a custom sculpt, creating another mould and then another positive for the prosthesis. There will be about three different pieces, at least (cheek textures, each horn). This looks like it has a cap underneath the wig that cuts off to allow hair through, so you may even need to factor in wig depth to your finished design and use a half-wig underneath it .
I can't do a tutorial, but it's really hard stuff. Look up how to make face casts and then sculpting. You'll need things like the blue casting product and wet plaster bandages, a box for your stone cast head, clay for the build, more mould making supplies for the build, something to cast the prosthetics in (silicone and latex) and a lot of money, since it's doubtful you'll get it first try.
>>8955879
It's lucky I specifically don't want to do the elaborate thing in the picture I chose, but I couldn't find a picture of what I would like to try, haha. What I was thinking about was more like... a friar baldcap with the hair around it, but instead of the top beng bald, the bald spot has shifted to the front (fringe to side of head area)?
I've got a facecast of myself, unfortunately it's not full-head, so I'm not going to be able to use the one I have, I suppose. I understand that this might be a bit too advanced of a thing to have a step-by-step for, but no harm in asking, right?
>>8950108
>>8950967
I'm gonna second this. As someone who started off cutting bangs in V-shapes but greatly regretted it when I wanted to restyle wigs later, I learned that you'll get cleaner results from thinning your bangs first.
Thinning the shorter area of the V properly (do it only a few wefts at a time) should give you the taper you need to bring it to a smooth point.
>>8955974
you would just need a regular bald cap, you apply the bald cap and then cut a small hole in the back and bring your hair through it, continuing cutting until the amount of hair you want is out. if you want full on hair all the way around, you could apply a bald cap and add the hair afterwards around the head. that is how they do semi-bald caps and such in my makeup class I took
>>8955974
So... you just want to do a half baldcap? Or do you want to add things onto it?
>>8955999
Gotta remember when saying this, that you have to still have the baldcap attached to the back of your neck .The cut it made between the seams. Anon doesn't mean trim the baldcap short, just make an incision.
Gluing on the hair makes the cap a little more durable.
>>8955999
>>8956004
>>8956008
I know I'm describing it pretty retardedly, but thanks for bearing with me so far.
To answer a few more of those questions:
I'd describe it more as a quarter-baldcap, and on top of the bald part I'd like it to look scarred. So basically, I thought that maybe I could add a patch of baldcap onto an existing wig (since most of the hair stays intact) and maybe blend the edge down into my face, since the scar would go down more. I made a shitty mspaint on top of my previous picture to hopefully clarify.
If it still sounds like absolute nonsense, I'll just trial and error some stuff with the help I got so far from you kind anons!
Has anyone got a guide on how to do bushy eyebrows at all?
Think Mad Hatter or Bang from OPM.
