It's when you wear a dress that doesn't have lacing at the back/isn't very elastic and your boobs press out and leave a noticeable gape where the waist isn't pulling in tightly. Super annoying, basically only fixable by making the gap between your bust and underbust as small as possible, which can make you look like you're boobloafing. The quick fix is pulling your dress' bodice down before a photo.

The whole photo will often be critiqued. Especially if the room is cluttered or dirty. Starting Lolita is often tough especially with conservative grand parents. I would suggest starting with Classic because you're more likely to be able to have a tame outfit your grandparents won't be weary of. Start by looking up blogs, information etc on the internet but be weary of sketchy websites and always research before buying! Joining a local community is a great start as well. Super long peignoir overwhelms the bottom but only has elbow length sleeves, flower on bodice and brown on sheep match nothing else, pattern on pattern with dress and tights, splash of short darkness with the wig but everything else light, elaborate shoe bows and wrist cuffs but plain only a plain ribbon choker. The coordinate itself is fine, the dress still has its A-line shape, and her chest barely stretches out the jersey fabric (no serious rippling at the armpits or pulling between the breasts). I feel like you are forgetting that this is a fashion first and foremost, she probably is carrying a backpack because she went into the city for the day and she is wearing flat shoes so her feet don't hurt.
