Frickity frack yes I've been waiting for a wardrobe thread for awhile now.

This is my current wardrobe. I have a lot of my dream pieces and that makes me really happy! I only have 3 more dresses that are top priority/dream tier. Feels good man

Speaking of wardrobes in general, what's the average amount of dresses you guys own? I'm still rather new and feel like my wardrobe is small, but I just realized I have nothing to compare it against.

I think wardrobe sizes are fairly subjective and depend on how often you wear the fashion; I have about 19 main pieces and sometimes I feel like it isn't enough, probably because I wear lolita daily.

I love working with themes so I have a few in my wardrobe. I only posted main pieces/skirts and not all the themed accessories or themes that I don't have more then 3 pieces of. The themes are:

I've just started buying lolita pieces this year so there isn't really cohesion so far lol. I stick to classic basically.
Going off my wishlist too I like navy, black, and light pink colorways. The themes I'm mainly into are sailor, skies, and a little bit of sweets.

I'd probably have up to 50 main pieces if I hadn't gone through periods of selling.

Although I have many items on my wishlist, I'm pretty content of how it is so far (even w/the odd pieces like the party stripe jsk), especially considering how I've changed from pastel sweet to a more mature/otome-kei-like wardrobe. I'm going to try to stick with the following:

>jeweled tones
>solids + patterns (I want more polka dots!)

Themes:
>berries (for spring/summer/country coords)
>royal motifs

I'd love to have more old-school pieces too, but I hate that some of them tend to run small or have limited measurement information lolibrary.

It's really great with anything fitted. It's hard to tell in the stock photo but there's a fabric cross on the waist piece.

This is only about 1/6 of my wardrobe right here but this is my favorite theme... mermaids. There are still a couple of mermaid prints that I haven't collected yet and I'm not sure if I ever will because I don't like them for various reasons, but part of me feels compelled to collect every mermaid lolita print EVAR. Also I'm not sure if I should try to expand to indie brands or not.

The two donut series AP has done don't really look the same at all, not up close in person anyway. MCD is much more subdued, which is probably why it ended up being super popular (I remember buying it at release though, and people were talking mad shit, glad I didn't have to pay $500+ for it after it got popular).

These are the remaining main pieces after I purged quite a few dresses I bought as a babylita. They are kind of what I want my whole wardrobe to be. Sweets, royal motifs, and chess. (Guess what my dream dress is?)

This is my entire wardrobe including things I'm currently selling, so it's not super cohesive - it used to be more cohesive and was mainly "purple, jewel tones, cats, cards and music" and then it expanded to include more lighter colours, sweet, library prints, strawberries, very Asian prints and many more colours...I'm in the process of getting rid of the navy velvet in my wardrobe and moving more towards royal blue, and getting more strawberries in to try and keep it cohesive but not outgrow the space I have for it.

The main themes/colors I try to stick with in my wardrobe are brown, black, mint, floral, deer, or old school.
Still have a few dresses that don't really fit into those themes, but it's kinda nice to have that tiny bit of diversity.
Also please excuse the shitty pics of the 3 shirring jsks, I don't think stock images of those exact dresses exist.

I always want to get variety, but then I get too picky about most releases.

it's not super cohesive in terms of themes, but black, navy and wine are the dominant colours. i'm glad i sold most of my brown pieces, it's made buying accessories super simple and coords are easier to put together now

I've been in lolita for a year now since last month and have 6 main pieces. I sometimes feel like it's not a lot especially compared to others but i think around 6 every year is not a bad pace to be collecting pieces. That's about one new piece every two months.

Classic/gothic hybrid wardrobe. Not much of a theme at all... I guess I like black, ivory and red, though. I would really love to get some more moitie, but the pieces I want are quite hard to come by, and are often overpriced on the western market. I've also been looking for atelier pierrot bustle corset OPs on Japanese auction for the past few months and I haven't seen any in my preferred colorway.

Left out my bodyline and western indie pieces and included a few things I have on pre-order

My wardrobe is still small, but these are my main pieces (one currently on the way) that follow my blue/green theme. Sailor collars are my weakness. I have a few pieces in other colours; black, brown, pink, burgundy, and they're more classic/gothic, but not very cohesive.

It's not tight at all, but I have C cup and the fit isn't perfect. It has room (I can fit my fist in easily) but it just doesn't accommodate bigger cup sizes. I'm 5"4 and it's quite short but still decent.

Been in the fashion for roughly half a year so no real cohesion yet. However I like lavender and carousel/pegasus/horse/whatever prints so I'll probably get more of those. Day Dream Carnival and Shadow Dream Carnival are my next pieces hopefully.

I've been in the fashion about 2.5 years, I only noticed my wardrobe had some pretty strong themes when I was preparing this years wardrobe post.
I only have a few outliers, and they still fit the jewel tone or dusty colours that are dominant though the rest of my wardrobe.
I'm actually pretty surprised I managed to keep some sort of cohesiveness. I'm a very bad impulse buyer, but apparently even then I know what I like.

Thank you, anons. I've been wearing the styles for five years now. I find the fit of Boz slightly weird, sometimes the ladies sizing is perfect for me, potentially at the bottom end of the fit, then other times I need the men's size, such as on my Rolands. They are worth buying new. Their blouses are really nice quality, well worth the relatively steep price. I've also since posting this grabbed a grey Mistress blouse from Boz. They double well as work wardrobe blouses.

I go for longer length lolita dresses partially because I need them for the longer bodice length in the case of IW, and partially because I like to approach it from the concept of a gothic, aristocratic lady at lunch.

That's actually really interesting, My Boz ladies sizes all fit like a dream. My obsession started with a ladies Roland (They're so flattering! And swooshy!). Recently got my hands on their Emily jacket and an Andrew long blouse and just confirmed my love.

The way that I see it is that the slightly higher hemline of a longer length lolita dress makes it a little less formal than a full on aristocrat outfit can be, so more of a day dress outfit.
What's the waist on your Roland? I've heard that on a lot of releases, the waist is only about 65cm, but on others it's more like 72cm. The latter would fit me, but I like having space for layers, as my waist tends to dance between 67 to 69cm The bust on the ladies size would be plenty roomy enough though. Mostly I like to make sure that I have a bit of give room on garments because when I bought my Himari skirt from IW, the shirting I found to be so strong that even at a 66cm waist it was a pain to zip up despite being 7cm under the max measurement. It's the same with my Boz Azul vest. It's the ladies size, with a max waist of 75cm, but as the shirring is super strong, I can't completely zip it up with a 68cm waist, which is rather annoying.

IW skirts are the worst, their shirring is so weird so even if you fit it fine it looks like you are squeezing into it. Roland's woman size is pretty small, I think mine is 66 cm max.

Wow I didn't realise they went up that big in the ladies size. Either way, I'm happy enough with my mens size ones, even if they're a bit on the big size. Means I can wear thick jumpers with them when it's cooler weather, and I like the extra length, as I have a long body and arms but relatively short legs. I love Boz's tailoring.
