The majority of my tutorials are for long hair unfortunately. I found most of them on Pinterest though so check that out if no one else can deliver!

This is my hair currently. ]: [Sorry..Image is what I just grabbed off my facebook because its easier]

Ive been looking for styles but all I find online are either slicked back or are super professionally done. I'm not able to dye my hair because my work won't let me, so that also sort of narrows down cute things. Even though I really want to try pastel.. I have wigs because of cosplay, but I'm pretty sure I'll get hot if I wear those around Disneyland for several days.

I would definitely invest in some cute headbands and clips then! The eBay and AliExpress generals usually have links to some. I don't think your hair is long enough for many braids but maybe you could do a variant of this?
>>
>>8873323
Thats really cute! I wonder if I have enough bangs to carry it over to kind of hide my cowlick to prevent that area being burned if i opt out of wearing a hat one of the days... I'm going to have to try this in the morning! Thank you anon!
>>
>>8873291
Wait, this is cute af, but I don't understand what's going on after the second picture. Do you just keep twisting the two other ponytails then braid it?
>>
Are there any good hairstyles for hair like this? I'm having trouble finding any that isn't people with straight hair making their hair look like pic related.
>>
>>8873444
From what I can tell you twist the first pony tail 3 times, make a second tail and twist it twice, then make a third one and twist it once. After that you braid the remaining hair into 2 braids and pin it across the back of your head.
>>
I think my hair is thinning. It's probably a combination of eating bad (which I can fix) and the fact that I used to be so self conscious of how thick it was that I'd blow dry it and straighten it every day, until recently. I also have to put it in a tight ponytail for work, so that's going to have to stop somehow. As well as not washing it every day (which I'm stopping right away), what else can I do aside from cutting out heat tools and eating better? I've looked online but it's the same old 'put an avocado on your head' and I am not in a financial situation where I can do that (student)
Sorry for the blog post, but basically how did you stop hair thinning?

Does anyone have any hairstyles like pic related? "J-mullet" style.

Bonus points if the model has kinda curly hair like in the pic. I want to get my hair cut like this, but I don't want it to be too visual-kei ish, I want something versatile that can be feminine, or styled straight and spiky.
>>
>>8873579
That makes a lot of sense, thanks!

>>8873962
If you can, use scrunchies instead of hair elastics (or at the very least elastics without the metal), sleep with your hair in a loose braid, and get a satin pillowcase if possible. If you can spare the money, then biotin, SMS, and beta carotene also help with hair growth/health. And, of course, exercise.

I have an interview for a graduate program tomorrow and idk how to do my hair. I have bra band length wavy hair and I was looking for a nice updo. I like doing braids and buns but I can't decide what's too dressed up or not enough.

I will be wearing a sleeveless (not strapless) dress and thought something like pic related would be nice.
>>
How can i get my bangs to look like this?
>>
>>8874621
Im going to play with my short hair tomorrow. Maybe I can pin up and tuck my ends to make a princess-like style. Anyone know if this is hard with shorter hair? I know hiding pins might be trouble, but what about adorning it with cute floral pins? Kind of like the kind girls wear for prom or weddings?
>>
>>8874865
Trim with a proper pair of shears or have it done at a salon. If you're doing it yourself, take your time and cut less than what you think you need to because the next step is curling the bangs slightly inward which makes them appear shorter. Curl it in pieces rather than stuffing all the hair into your iron at once and just try to do it evenly. Hair spray helps keep the style in. If you find the hair sticking out in wonky pieces, rather than falling over your forehead in one solid curtain, you've either curled pieces too much/in the wrong direction, or your bangs are getting greasy (in which case, try using dry shampoo). I guess having naturally thick and straight hair helps too.

Sorry no wig thread, so I'm going to ask here instead.
Can someone post a good vs bad example of a wig with side swept bangs? Mine already has straight bangs in the right length but the ends are so damn sharp that I just have brush them a bit to the side. In the past when people have complained about it I can't really tell what's bad about it, unless you can see the cap.
>pic related, it's that one.
>>
My hair is currently like this, but I don't know what to change the blonde too that would look good. I was thinking a pastel pink, what do you guys think?
>>
I guess this is the best place to ask. I want to get a haircut soon and I found the hairstyle in the picture to be really cute but don't know if it will work with my face shape? My face is quite wide and round but I have a big forehead. Should I go for it or will it be a terrible mistake?
>>
>>8875872
What's bad about it is that the bangs generally look unnatural or bad if they're not trimmed to suit your face. Its the same way that bangs can look awkward/bad when they grow out or aren't styled. Not to mention most wig bangs are too full to be simply swept to the side/the line of the hair isn't right, so it makes it really obvious that it's a shitty wig when people do so.

What should I use to get heatless curls like fannyrosie's? I know she uses rag curls but when I try to rag curl mine they end up being too angular and ugly, not like hers at all.
>>
>>8875872
What >>8877222 said. People think that side bangs are the same as bangs that are too long. Issues with pushing wig bangs out of your face due to fear of cutting them wrong is what causes most of the knee-jerking. your bangs need to be trimmed properly still even if they're side swept.
>>
>>8877191
This haircut will make your face look rounder and wider. I would suggest having it slightly longer at the edges and a slightly shorter and softer fringe

>>8875876
It's quite hard to see your skin tone, a rose pink or peach pink might look nice.
>>
>>8873514
wavy bobs looks amazing with this hair type, you have the option of straightening the bangs too if you fancy it.
>>
>>8877226
>angular
What do you mean by angular? Like the ends? Make sure you curl the ends around the rags too and you don't just fold them up.

I'm so sorry for self-posting, but I know /cgl/ will be honest with me so here I am.

Currently, my hair is a very very light blonde, but I find it makes me look kind of ill. I can't pull it off. It's kind of damaged as well, so I wanted to put a Demi-permanent color on it, but I'm having trouble deciding between two tones.

Cool light brown or warm dark blonde? I know they are very similar colors, it's mostly the decision between warm/cool I'm having trouble with. I have blue eyes, fair skin that can be prone to ruddyness. What does /cgl/ say? My natural color is very light dishwater brown. Thanks in advance for any help.

>>
>>8878163
>>8878173
Thanks for the input, anons! I appreciate it. And my eye is a quarter brown actually, thanks for noticing.
>>
I have bleached my hair and toned it to achieve a pale blonde, like, really pale. It wasn't white, but it was really close.
I used a grey Schwarzkopf dye and on the first wash (I used a sulfate free shampoo) yellow undertones appear on the middle of my hair. Why did that happen? I also used silver shampoo(yhe loreal one) for that yellow that appeared, but it didn't affected the colour at all.
>>
>>8877226
Curlers. From your picture it looks like you have trouble maintaining the curl in an even direction when you sleep, either you're rolling your hair up wrong/letting it twist, tying the rags too tightly or you're just a more active sleeper.

>>8878994
Probably that part of your hair was slightly more yellow and the schwarzkopf dye did not take so well. Try mixing your own toner with purple dye, Directions is cheap on eBay and you just put a small amount into conditioner, leave it in for 15 mins and it should help remove yellow tones
>>
>>8878117
You look like you have cool undertones to your skin, right anon? If that's the case, try to avoid any colors that say "warm" or "golden", and stick with "cool" and "ash" type descriptions. Warmer undertones will wash you out and make you look ill like you describe (though I agree with other anons, you have lovely eyes and a nice face shape).

It'd be great if we didn't have the same regurgitated posts in every hair general thread and actually have some OC going.
>>
>>8880405
K post some OC then.
>>
>>8880445
Can anyone explain this? I'm confused by the last two steps.
>>
>>8880463
I haven't tried it yet but I believe it's almost like a fish tail braid where you bring hair from the sides together but for this one you secure those pieces with an elastic. It looks like after you bring your first two pieces together and secure them you end up with two pony tail sections. Then you alternate which section you bring pieces from the front and secure it.

It makes sense in my head so I hope that made it a little more clear for you.

Never really browsed these threads before since I always thought I would wear wigs. But recently got my bangs trimmed and I dont mind wearing my natural hair with lolita now because of it. Before the fashion I was way more tomboy and have never really done anything with muh hair.
>photo related. My hair all natural. No dye/bleach, and barely any styling. My hair is naturally a bit wavy and all I did here was straighten my bangs out.

What are some basic tips and styles for hair? I'm looking for something easy for a beginner like me, but also not a huge fan of heat styling since I don't want to fry my hair out.
I have tape in real hair extensions that are close to my color, but I hate the fact that they are tape in... Is there a way to convert a tape in extension into a clip in? My hair isn't really that thick so I'm always interested in ways to add more volume.

I asked in the larme thread before but it might be more fitting here. I need hair advice, specifically I'm looking for products that might help my styling go faster.

My hair is super fine and thin (seriously, I don't have much hair and it is very light) but super frizzy and curly, pic related is how it looks when I blow dry it curly with a diffuser and some curl taming cream. I want to get my curls to look like Risa's and I feel like my hair is already a similar level of curly but the curls are just shaped differently? I know that Risa's hair is not naturally curly, which accounts for the difference, but I wonder if there's any tips for getting my hair to look more like that shape without having to bust out the curlers or curling wand/straightener without too much effort? Maybe some way I can shape the curls while blow drying it?

Come on curly gulls.... I can't be the only one with hair like this, right?
>>
>>8873182

This is so darn cute. 10/10
>>
>>8880942
What happens when you scrunch and air dry it with curl serum?
>>
What hair dryers do you all use?
I'm looking for a new one to blow my hair out straight and I'm trying to keep it under $150.
>>
>>8881515
what happens is I spend all day waiting for my hair to dry ('cause if I go outside with wet hair it's all over, someone sneezes in the same room and it's frizz city man), so that is unfortunately not an option.
I'm amazed at my hair's ability to retain water, while still being so thin and fine. Thanks, hair.
>>
>>8878193

I'm guessing you just pull the curlers (rags) out of your hair in the morning. Try undoing each roll by letting the hair slide downwards, and then remove the rag from the bottom of your hair. Your curls might be doing the wild angles thing because some of it is trying to curl upwards and some are trying to curl down, while gravity is pulling all the hair downwards, so it becomes a big mess.

Make sure when you roll the curls you're rolling each one vertically as well, so that they can curl downwards, if the curl is horizontal there's going to be some strands that want to go upwards instead of down.

Additionally, when you curl your hair, try to keep it fairly even and untwisted, when you tie them off, don't let it twist over or do weird things. Each roll should sort of be more like a toilet paper roll where each strand of hair goes from inside to outside of the roll in a neat wrap, rather than resembling some kind of pretzel twist with every hair doing its own twist. Actually, I find that rag rolls have issues with hair rolling around, so you might want to switch to using real curlers if you can't get the curls to lie neat.

Hope that helps.
>>
>>8881525
Pretty sure there's no easy way. I'd blow dry it over a round brush, then roll each section up and pin in a large curl while it's cooling to encourage a slightly larger curl pattern.
>>
>>8881555
>no easy way
I want to prove you guys wrong but you're probably right. I haven't tried plopping in a while. Maybe that will help.
>>
Help, I made a hair appointment last week to dye my hair an unnatural hair color for today, and yesterday the perfect well laying job fell into my lap. Hi. I'm sorry I'm not Black, but my uncle married a Black woman and they have a daughter and I'm going to meet them and she knows I'm into lolita, my uncle described it to her as just cute stuff since I'm a sweet lolita but my niece would like it too I guess.

I get that you might feel left out since all of the hair textures aren't yours. But why don't you think they can't be cute too? I like the idea of pic related. Maybe it could've been done better, but it's a really nice touch to someone. You mention your hair is short, but I'm not how short it is. I guess if your head is shaved you could even add some designs to it too instead of braiding a design in like this.

I'm also looking for beads for her on Aliexpress. Her parents told me she switches from braids to free hair? every 3 weeks, so i plan to buy her plenty of clips and other hair accessories for her to stock up on. I'm also buying her ribbons and bows since any accessory can make hair cute regardless of it's texture.

I haven't seen a Black person into j-fash who uses beads in their hair with a coord but I imagine it can be done well since theirs plenty of room for it to be done.

But I think Black hair, the longer version, does really go well with "kawaii" looks. It always looks soft, don't want to say fluffy, but it does tend to give the person with it a softer, more feminine, image. Which is like what most of the other images in this thread.

So I'm kinda retard when it comes to hair care. What kind of products and routines would you gulls recommend for frizzy and breakage prone hair? My hair tends to be wispy and light, but not super thin, it's quite fluffy. I've never dyed it and I don't heat abuse it. So I don't understand why it's so damage prone.
