Meetup was pretty neat. Many faces come and go. Grace's Mandarin is expensive but good. Didn't have to wait for a table at 7pm. Planning to go again tomorrow.

Seeing a fuck ton of lolitas. So sad I didn't bring my dresses with me.
However, there was this one girl who was wearing a basic sack dress with a petticoat, like dude, no. Wtf?

Today was alright. Cgl meetup was pretty good, beat my expectations. Managed to walk into room parties and made a friend or two in the process.

Had a great time at the meetup. Looking forward to tomorrow night.

I would only recommend if you really like games. The panels are ok, but if you are one of those people that spends most of your time in the game room at a con anyway, you should go. The indie game showcase they had last year was really great. People are chill, but it's a different atmosphere from anime cons. Cosplay is getting more popular there, but nowhere near the level of most anime cons. If you live nearby, give it a shot even if only for day.

This is a fine and sensible response. Fact is, when you go to a con, there's going to be a wide spectrum of people. Many of them are DTF. Many of them won't give you the time of day. A majority of them are happy to be together with their fellow nerds and willing to spare at least a few seconds to geek out.

Here are some things to I like to keep in mind when meeting people:

No matter what, you'll live through this. If you fall, stand up tall and learn from it.

Don't be negative. It's natural to feel like a failure. To hate. To want to tear people down to make you feel better. But those things will leave you worse off than before you did them. Positivity is a muscle. Work it out.

Know when to quit. You never know what's going on behind the scenes. People get tired. They could be late for a photoshoot. You could have said something that reminded them of a stressful time in their life. Don't beat yourself up if they leave. Cherish the time you spend together.

Love yourself. Learn what makes you happy. We spend so much time looking at others that we often don't know ourselves. You don't have to know how to find the party if you ARE the party! A high sense of self-worth is contagious.

Last but not least. Remember. You can always do a little better. Even if you don't think so. Promise.

In regards of the fire that happened on Saturday, I'm the only person who has footage in video. They're all on youtube, but I have not titled the videos yet. It really reminded me of the Otakon 2010 evacuation, which I recorded as well.

Two, there was about 10-15 Rick and Morty cosplayers in Katsucon. And I was cosplaying as Rick as well. Had loads for good times with the fandom.

The official title Katsucon 2016 is FireCon 2016.

It would hard to do though. There is such an influx of tourists in the area that getting a hotel block would be a massive pain in the ass. Then you have the massive influx of security, which would make props harder to do. Honestly it's a tricky con to schedule because then you run into tourist season from the Cherry Blossom Festivle until Labor Day. But if you go for after Labor Day that's a month after Otakon, and a Month before AUSA. And then you run into the fact that AUSA can land anywhere between late September and late November.

Inside scoop in regards to the fire on Saturday.

The fire originated in a mechanical room, a large electric motor that provides provides power to the Spa Room.

The smoke from this traveled upwards through the vents and spilled out into the second floor near the offices above.

So in fact all the different part of the story are true.

So the hotel did nothing for the guests when the cause of the fire is a malfunction of a hotel motor? I get that they do nothing when it's a guest related cause or guest alarm pull, however, the hotel is liable for it's own equipment and establishment and should do something for the fucking guests.
