New movie out and no Star Wars thread?
This is obviously a thirst thread but man, you must have some fucking weird fetishes if you're into this shit. I'm more concerned about said fetishes than the fact that there's another thirst thread.
no they are proper cosplayers and no they dont have nudes
once you go red
You obviously didn't grow up in a Star Wars household, or you'd know that the Twi'leks are SUPPOSED to be sexy. That is their only purpose. They are masturbation fodder, especially Darth Atroxa.
can we have some actual cosplay and not just ugly girls looking for attention/dick
the costumes were the only good part of the prequels
I like all the detailing on this headpiece
why is there anything?
also, has anyone cosplayed pic related? it was my favorite by far.
there is no nudity in these images
they are all acceptable for cons
they are all blue board appropriate
>half of them not even wearing wigs
Lol say sexy ackbar. Now say it slowly.
At the last con I attended this year, I had a discussion with the judges after an atrocious cosplay competition. We broke down the history of cosplay and analyzed it's decline, and the official time of death for cosplay was 2102.
Cosplay at conventions will wax and wane in terms of popularity and quality, but the most recent peak was 2008-2009. I am speaking in terms of US cosplay, of course.
Man, the proportions for Ren are ...off. So painfully off.
>overlarge Space-Balls-esque mask
> tunic shoulders cut too long, making the arms look stumpy
Rey's cute though (albeit needs darker belts), and I like that she's got the staff.
a-are you from the future, anon?
do thirsty normalfag men still think /cgl/ cares about inaccurate """"sexy"""" cosplays in the future? do we ever reach a point, however briefly, where those bitter fools realize they are the only ones who care about that subpar wank fodder shit?
half will be women jumping ship from Bucky crossplays. the helmet means no more stipple-brush stubble, and the costume design is prime for disguising curves. meanwhile, the sexy dark woobie factor will still be there.
>pic related, just your average Avengers photoshoot
Oh man, I love how smooth Ahsoka's tails look here, and Grievous looks good too. I tried reverse Googling the picture and only got a bunch of repost sites; do you know the original cosplayers?
Thanks for the image dump, too; I'm so tickled by the side-by-side TCW and movie Barrisses in >>8778414
Sorry, I meant to say 2012.....
Cosplaying isn't about "thirsty normalfag men", it's about cosplaying. Sexy, inaccurate costumes are reserved for porn parodies, discount Halloween costumes, and attention whores who think they're into "cosplay"
couple have been posted, here's another
for a cosplay like this, it's important to contour so the white facepaint doesn't flatten your features. compare the faces of Amidala cosplayers who contour to those who don't and it's like looking at a human face versus a lump of dough.
Eagerly awaiting a Captain Phasma cosplay
What would be the essentials for a Kylo Ren cosplay? I already have a Force FX lightsaber, but I have nothing for the actual costume.
Have you checked the RPF? There's a subforum full of threads discussing Kylo Ren's costume. The coat (and hood?) seems to be a basket-weave, 2x2 with floating threads. I think someone's doing a custom fabric order soon?
..I've definitely not been lurking in the star wars forum for the past week or so. Definitely.
Anyway, it looks like the coat is pretty simple once you get the right fabric type. It's pretty much just straight seams. Build a belt from leather or pleather, get the bandage-style sleeves, some gloves, some boots, the scarf thing... There's undoubtedly much more detail elsewhere but I don't think anything here could really be skipped over. But what do I know, I'm a perfectionist. I'm sure we'll see lots of crappy Kylo Rens leaving off bits and pieces in the upcoming con season. Such is the way of popular things and timecrunched/lazy cosplayers.
(I'm sort of considering building a kylo ren costume myself but as a 5'6" female I'm not sure it's worth it as I can't get that intimidating build no matter how many platform shoes I wear. Still, it could be fun. (My face is really too sharp/long for Rey, who I am also considering.) I just really want to make a Star Wars costume. Preferably one with a lightsaber because I hate myself and the concept of having time and money.)
Finally finished my TK, but the local theaters didnt allow costumes for the premeire thanks to dark knight rises fag.
applying for my local 501st garrasion now.
>takes helmet off
>he's literally the portrayal of a school shooter with Vader as his imaginary senpai
>mfw character ruined
>when I was 13 I decided last minute to go as a witch for Halloween
>used black robes my mom had from when she was a kid
>ended up using black hairspray for unknown reasons
>went out with my family that night and literally everyone thought I was supposed to be snape
>long before the HBP movie came out
>apparently I just looked like a mini alan rickman
>wished I had done it on purpose
Fast forward ten years
>the helmet comes off
>it's my time to shine
Looks great! Is it all vacuformed? I wanted to build a Boushh but trying to tackle the helmet was the biggest intimidating factor.
>theatre not allowing helmets
Same here - the Regal and AMC chains weren't allowing helmets, face paint, or weapons, which turned out to be alright for me since I wasn't able to finish Asajj Ventress and slapped together a generic Jedi Knight instead.
yeah all vacuformed ABS plastic.
i too was thinking doing Boushh but i dont know anyone who mades kits and i've already planned on painting the stomrtrooper like the Battlefront Shock Trooper and working on a TIE Pilot next.
TFA has brought back my desire to cosplay Asajj Ventress from this illustration. Her animated designs are good as well though.
Bastila Shan from the first Bioware KOTOR game. The bodysuit should be a nice trendy Jedi-beige.
agreed anon, the idea of a school shooter kind of guy who loves pretty much nazis coming into contact with the force is fucking terrifying.
especially now that everyone underestimates him, snoke will likely teach him more than he should and then he will fucking ball out of control.
Honestly when Snoke said it was time to "complete his training," my first thought was the traditional Sith Lord-Apprentice duel to the death, but the franchise probably wouldn't hire Serkis and dump a bunch of CGI into his character without milking it for the whole trilogy run.
>and it looks like Kylo Ren will probably get some sort of redemption story, which would be less effective if he's the Big Bad and not Snoke
The "lol this kid looks like a fuckin angsty school shooter" FITS though! Both your shooter type and Kylo would see himself as a misunderstood badass who believes the world owes them some justice. I'll bet anything at some point in Kylo's backstory he got rejected by a girl.
Self post, but I'm at least proud of it. :)
This is probably as attention seeking as possible. Wtf is with that old renaissance corset? Get that shit out of here you whore. Its not hard to find ones without detail. Such a waste of time on everything else when you can get an vest corset with no detail for about $20 off ebay.
This thread needs more Rey cosplay
He about to tear that screen apart because it is TOO HOT FOR EMOS
About done with A'sharad hett
Self post! My Rey costume. Made it myself for Celebration to wear with the Speeder made by mine props crew, mine golden army
>not thinking adam driver is 10/10
when will this meme end?
She's confirmed to be back for the next film. The movie had a lot going on. At least they set her up to be interesting.
And same could be said for Boba Fett. He looked cool, but didn't do crap.
Planning on making one of the Knights of Ren from TFA.
Does anyone know the fabric-type on his cloak?
also is it me or does the undersuit look like a jedi shirt? similar to what luke wears?
>The character was originally intended to be played by a male actor. However, Christie was cast in response to internet backlash against a perceived lack of female cast members.
so basically all i have to do is be a woman and complain on the internet and i'll eventually get what i want?
is it cheaper to build from scratch or buy a build kit?
How good do you want to look?
There aren't any First Order Stormtrooper kits for sale right now that are movie accurate.
The "cheapest" armor kit you can get now is for the original Stormtrooper, and that's still in the 6-700 dollar range.
And stay away from Rubies
So it's official cgl. After never wanting to do an armor cosplay in all 18 years I have been doing it, I now absolutely must cosplay as Captain Phasma.
I have no skills or space for something like this, so obviously I will need to commision. I have never commissioned a costume before though so I don't know who to talk to or where to start. I am willing to pay up to $1000 for the plastic pieces alone and unpainted, and then I will be painting, making the fabric pieces, and putting the suit together. Is this reasonable? I don't have much to base it off of.
>All the EU cosplay in this thread
I've never been so happy to know that it got this much love. Maybe I'll finally finish Exar Kun after starting him 3 years ago and never having the drive to complete it because of the Disney acquisition and thinking that no one would recognize it.
Phasma is based off the First Order Stormtrooper and as far as I know only Anovos has kits for those Stormtroopers. Problem is they did a very limited run exclusive to the 501st Legion and reportedly cost almost $900 per person just for the kit itself and no one is selling theirs.
Anovos has said they will sell the kits to the public but haven't given a date yet.
I've never cosplayed before but now I really want to do a male version of Rey's scavenging outfit with the mask and everything. So damn cool looking. Only bad thing is I'm pretty skeleton mode so people might just assume I'm a girl with the full face covering since Rey has no tits whatsoever. Ah well, we'll see what happens.
>Kylo Ren as a character looks like an awkward babyfaced school shooter.
Kylo Ren IS an awkward babyfaced school shooter. He throws tantrums because he wishes he were in control of his life but he's not. He's got idols but he thinks he'll never overcome his own weakness.
>At least they set her up to be interesting.
No, they didn't.
>droid isn't here, Ren
>put your helmet back on, trooper
>never noticed anything odd about him before, Admiral Hux
>I'll lower the shields, but I won't like it
Wow, so interesting.
ONly reason there was hype was because 1) woman and 2) GoT actress.
If you have a heat gun, you can do most of it out of xpvc for cheap if you have good enough references. New order bodies are simpler than original trilogy's. The helmet will be hard though.
