I should have ponied up the cash and gotten the Nefertitis in pink and black in my size, and bought more pink-and-black sweet lolita dresses that nobody wants because they're associated with the annoying people who think bittersweet is a thing.

They're real leather but apparently the buckles break according to one anon in the otome thread.

Maybe it's my snob showing but somehow I seriously doubt they're better crafted than let's say fluevog for instance.

Lolita/otome shoes are never "worth" their prices. You just buy them because they're cute and unique. Expect $100 shoe quality for those.

I own these shoes in ivory, and I adore them! Eleborate enough for lolita, but comfortable enough to be worn for long periods of time. It's the 'Victoria' style, by Mojo Moxy. I just bought the ivory today from Walmart, so if the thread is still up, I will do a review when I get them.

I have a pair of the black so I can comment on the fit. My foot is about 25 cm long (8.5-9 US women) but I have wide feet so I bought a pair of size 10 the first time and sold them to a friend because they run wide and the shoe was way to long at size 10. The size 9 I bought after selling the others fits perfectly, width and lengthwise.

I want to love their shoe designs but they aren't all that unique for the prices, and I'm dubious of the quality as with most brand shoes. Does anyone have a review of VM's shoe quality? They're not real leather, right? I'm mostly interested in those cross strap shoes they put out maybe a year ago.

I bought marked-down Tommy Hilfiger shoes from Ross for $40 that look almost identical to these. Only differences are mine don't have the ruffled tongue and I would need to relace them with 1/2" ribbon laces and they'd look almost exactly the same. They sell shoes like these all the time at H&M, TJ Maxx etc you just have to keep your eyes open.

Has anyone ever tried shoes from http://www.harr-shoes.com/index.php?main|4ad5beddabcd0_0|2 ? They seem to be aimed more at theatre companies, but they have a lot of period designs, and they can custom make them in different colours and materials, with different heel heights and stuff. Seem to be about 100 euro per pair. Since I've been on the lookout for some nice cream leather boots, I've been thinking of maybe trying this place... Is that a terrible idea?

How comfy are they? Last time I tried >>8782153 I think the balance was off and I had to return them because they were hell on my achilles heel.
>>
>>8785201
They're the most comfortable Mojo Moxy shoe I've owned. Like you, I had problems with the quoted style (way too high for me), and I also own the Hamptons. My Hamptons granted are a little small on my feet but also a bit harsher on the arch imo. The Victoria is more balanced all around- the only pain I have with them is the one I mentioned, where the point at your toe knuckles might be squeezed a bit because that's where the toe bends into shape, but then the toebox itself becomes roomy again.
>>
>>8785291

Thank you for the input! You're really selling me on these shoes - I think I'm obligated to jump on the bandwagon now.

>>

>>
>>8783522
I grabbed a pair of VM's lace-up short boots for a good price and was pretty disappointed by them. The fit was good, they were pretty comfortable, but the materials are terrible. My rule of thumb is never buy burando shoes and go for better stuff (almost always Fluevogs). The first time I wore them the lining material started to crack and flake away, and they're just cheap pleather, anyways. I saw a pair of the Secret Shop replicas at a swap meet and they were way nicer than the real deal.
>>
>>8785324
Also worth mentioning that the VMs I bought were brand new and unworn, so there was no previous damage before they just kinda damaged themselves.
>>
>>8783442

Sheeeeet I never realized there were hieroglyphs on the back. So that's what fluevog meant by a 'secret message.'
>>
>>8785324
Yeah... Honestly when VM's prices are about equal to my 'vogs, for way worse quality, I'll just stick to them. Sad though that the SS versions are better quality. Thanks for the review!

Is there a way to shop for shoes/boots that will be flattering for leg shapes, much like you can buy dresses that are flattering for your overall body shape? I am a pretty thin person, but I have larger calves due to exercise and am a little insecure about them. >>
>>8782744
I've got the same problem with big feet, and big calves. Unfortunately, neither of my go-to websites right now have anything remotely lolita in stock right now. But they do sometimes get things in that works. Try roamans.com, and there's another company called simply be that carries wide calf boots.
>>
>>8783397
>>8783408
>>8783433
I want to love these, but I hate that stupid toe cap thing.
>>
>>8785362
There's mainly "don't" rather than "do" with flattering shoes. Clearly, calf length boots are not going to be your friend as they will create a horizontal line on the large part of your calf and draw attention. Knee high (or higher) styles with vertical lines e.g. lace up boots or vertical panels are good, and a small heel will make legs longer and therefore proportionally slimmer. If you have very large calves for your shoe size, knee high boots can be annoying to find though - I have calves that look big in comparison to my fairly slim ankles but because I wear a US 7.5 it's pretty easy, whereas the friend wearing a 5.5 with similar sized calves struggles because I think shoe companies expect her to be smaller all over. Don't go for super high stilettos or anything, just a 2" or so rise - higher heels will make your calf muscles stand out because you're basically coming up on tip toe. Other than that, ankle boots, brogues etc should also be fine but try to find that low heel. I also like chunky platforms because it kinda makes everything look smaller.
>>
>>8785324
Interesting, I had quite ossposite experiences. My VM replica boots are far worse in quality than the original boots. They are also much more uncomfortable.

>>

>>8787123
Congrats on the find!

Yeah, Fluevogs almost never re-launch stuff after they've been sold out. If they make more colors, it's usually an additional color to a design they already are selling.

There's always the Fluemarket and eBay...
>>
Possible a stupid question on shoes. I fit a size 38 perfectly in Chinese taobao sizing, which is equivalent to size 7 US. I usually get 38-39 (7-7.5). I've bought shoes that were 23.5cm and they were way too fucking small (a size M from Secret Shop). So I bought a Bodyline pair of shoes that was 240 and they were way too fucking huge. Then I bought another pair from Bodyline, but instead 235 and they were a perfect fit. I think it might just be Bodyline, but serious question, what shoe size should I get (in cm) if I want to buy a pair of heels? Tall lolita here, and I really don't want to have any foot discomfort or blisters by wearing too small of shoes. And I've never worn heels before! I've measured my feet to be 24cm but I'm worried that might be too small!
>>
>>8787806
And the place I plan on ordering from is DreamV.
>>
>>8787806
It is actually more complex than what you think. Besides the fact that shoes arent always goign to run true to size, different shoe models will fit differently. Comparing different brands and models will not work because there is too many variables. All you know right now is that bodyline's 235 fits you okay so far, but secret shops doesnt. But then if you get heels you may find the shoe box is tighter/smaller and may need to size up.
>>
>>8787806
I would go with 24cm measurement. DreamV's shoes can vary in size, just like Bodyline. I have 6.5 to 7 and I buy mostly L for comfort. Just check the measurements for each shoe on their site, pick whatever fits 24cm, and hope for the best.
>>
>>8787142
>Fluevogs almost never re-launch stuff after they've been sold out.
This is so, so depressing. Guess I'll never find those Elizabeths in white...
>>
How do Fluevogs fit? Are they true to size or do they run big?
>>
>>8789317
Check their site. They arent just one brand, but have multiple lines, so you cant just give a broad statement for all of them. But they do list about if it is true to size or not.
>>
>>8789317
Most of the time they run very true to size, but there are a couple of exceptions. If the pair you're looking at is still available online, then go to the website and read the buyer reviews; those will tell you in-depth how they fit/feel.
>>
>>8787806
I'm a US size 7 and I usually buy a Japanese size L. I only have one pair of dreamv shoes but the L was the perfect size.

that so.. ugly. i mean like, ok they went with a clear platform but why put literal strings of pearls in there instead of just.. pearls themselves? it looks really tacky this way

Put up eBay searches for the Elizabeths in white in your size, and stalk the Fluemarket. You can also post a WTB on there. Whether current owners will want to part with them is entirely another matter.

I really want some dark green heels, but most decent shoe brands make them too jade-coloured and the Queen Transcendent Elizabeth shoes don't work for my feet at all - tried them on in store a while back and they were well uncomfortable, unfortunately.

>>8789434
I guess so they don't move as much as you walk and stay more evenly distributed in the platform.

>>8789317
Wildly variable between styles, if you're buying online best to read reviews.

Sick from that angle. I already have two pairs of shoes like that.. But then again this one would show socks all the way down.

>>8789434
Probably because string of pearls carry a more sophisticated lady feel compared to just loose pearls which seem more cutie and girlish.

Dunno if this is allowed, but the VW Skyscraper Pearls in white, US size 9 are up on eBay. The description says they run small. They won't fit me but hopefully they'll fit someone here.
>>
>>8789434
It doesn't come with the pearls. The platforms come empty, you can open them and fill them with whatever you want.

Would the Japanese L be considered 23.5cm or 24.0cm? (Shoe size 7-7.5, wear EU 38/39)
>>
>>8791113
L is normally 24.5. Sometimes 24-24.5. Sometimes even 25 but never 23.5 for the most part.

>>8782153
I bought those and one was much smaller than the other, so small I couldn't wear them at all

I have ebay searches for everything Fluevog, lol. But I haven't checked Fluemarket.. I guess I'll keep an eye on there, too. Does it work similarly to comm sales/LM?

>>8791168
Oh man, I've been looking for a shoe like this to match a casual IW dress I own. They're Liz Lisa?
>>
>>8791377
Yup, similar to comm sales. There is no bidding system like LM (though some people decide to post on both eBay and the Fluemarket). Posts on the Fluemarket are automatically deleted after 30 days.
>>
>>8790697
Fits me, but it's too basic of a design for $130, even if it is VW.
>>
Tbh I hate normal shoes with lolita.I really want to like them but I can't help it.The coord could be perfectly fine but then I look at the shoes and it doesn't feel lolita anymore.

These are on sale on modcloth for 15 bucks atm if anyone was interested.

Ahh thanks for this! I was looking for a nice white/ivory shoe and this is a great price.
>>
>>8780618
Are they comfortable? Good quality, or are they pleather?
>>
>>8793308
Pretty much any shoe for that price is going to be pleather.
>>
>>8779964
they took the heels of a btssb replica and added the wings from the To Alice shoes. i believe these ultrareplicamonster is already being sold on taobao.
>>
>>8793500
If you have a taobao link then post.
>>
>>8792896
I'm the one that posted them and I'm happy people are getting them. I bought them about a week before the price dropped to $18. I had to fix a bow on one of them. But they're super cute and even though they're pleather, $18 is a great price.
>>
>>8793818
You should have returned and repurchased them!
>>
Has anyone have experience painting bodyline shoes? I have a pair of white ones I want gold
>>
>>8785314
They say in multiple reviews that they run huge. I'm an 8.5 - 9 and I got an 8, they feel fine.

>>8793308
pleather, outsole is rubber. They're comfortable and seem durable, I'm happy with mine.
>>
>>8793308
I just got mine so I haven't worn them too long but they are comfortable. They defintely are roomy but I'm not sure if it's worth significantly adjusting the size one buys. I like them enough to buy them in black when the sale gets a bit sweeter.

Angelus leather paint.
>>
Any cute navy shoes?
>>
>>8794536
thank you
>>
>>8794536
Why leather paint for plastic shoes?
>>
>>8799214
Works on pleather as well.
>>
>>8799214
Leather paint will remain flexible after it dries, very important unless you want the paint on your shoes to crack.

Does anyone know similar shoes to this? They went out of stock in size just a couple of days ago when I was waiting for customer service to respond about sizing.

The customer service was useless. I told them I typically wear 23.5 cm shoes (lol weeb) - thought it would be better than saying US Size 6.5 (which really doesn't mean a whole lot). But they said they don't know what 23.5 cm translates to..

I'm still annoyed that I didn't buy these when I was in the UK. Now I'm back down under and shipping is more than they are.

These went on sale for 14.99 in black http://www.modcloth.com/shop/shoes-heels/dance-it-up-heel-in-black a lot of the larger sizes sold out unfortunately.

Just a very early reminder to people, International John Fluevog Day is going to land on a SUNDAY this year. May be a good meetup occasion to line up at the store right before it opens.
>>
>>8804998
I love these so much, but my feet are huge and the only color in my size is cream. :(
>>
>>8805963
It's okay anon my size is sold out too, I did buy them in cream though. Hopefully enough people request they get brought back and we can buy them in black.

Does anyone want Queen Transcendant shoes in white who's a size 9.5? You'll have to pay $300 though but I found a listing on ebay. Not my size unfortunately so I thought if anyone here might be interested.
