International Lolita Day coordinates!
That's all I've got.
i haaaaate it when people try to force black onto a super sweet dress with 0 black on it. it happens way to often, and it NEVER looks good ever. you cant coord black with a sweet print that has no black in it. period. theres no getting around it.
I like the simplicity of this one, not so sure about the dangly lace headpiece though.
Also apologies for any double posts!
>I think this coordinate treads a very fine line between lolita and otome
I think it treads a fine line between normalfag and fucking awful
Who wore it better?
>sorry for weird ass collage; on mobile
This girl's makeup is driving me nuts. Learn to wing and get some real eyebrows please! I think it would really help her look more polished and less... 6th-grade "mom let me use her makeup today."
I think I can help.. The cream coat looks off with the dress and the tights, although match the theme, look very off with the color scheme. Maybe cream tights instead to match the coat? Not to mention two bears just looks too busy! Wait.. I now see the tiny bear in there. Maybe that would have been better if she wanted to use more than one bear. Different accessories that weren't royal themed might have been better, but that's just me.. I like where this was going, but the finished coord is off.
KEK the fact that she's trying to pass her obvious replica for the real deal.
Which makes me wonder why she's still posting this shit to a lolita comm...
Love simple mature sweet like this!
The boots going right into the dress hem like that makes her look so stiff and stumpy. Really would have looked better with either the shorter cut or shorter boots, needs some calf showing either way.
mte, trashy Modcloth-kei
Oh no D: When you're of that size you need to be extremely conscious of how things lay on your body. An empire waistline was designed to make women look pregnant after the Queen of England during the time got pregnant, that's how the style started. So wearing it when your already fat makes you look even rounder.
The lace sleeves look strained at the top and I'm sure she's picked the right size for her, it's just the pattern. The scalloped edges give the illusion that her arms are wider. The ruffles on the forearm keep her entire arm very heavy and ensure there's not a bit streamlined or petite any where. The ruffles are not voluminous enough to look like a dramatic choice, they just look awkward.
The lace of the tights doesn't match the lace any where else, and since a good portion of her outfit is drawing attention to the pattern of the lace on her shirt the bottom doesn't go.
This has nothing to do with fitting her body type, but the head pieces don't go together. She should leave the crown and add cream pearls to it to match the dress and ditch the wings and black bow.
Eyes. Where? I'm kinda uncomfortable
why does this look like someone photoshopped a different head onto the body...
>is this even lolita.
It feels like she went for a more fairy kei look with this instead of lolita fashion. Which is fine, but shes in a weird in the middle look. Either go full out fairy key/pastel or not at all gurl.
This...this isn't lolita? At all? It's not even that great of an outfit in general...Why did she post it?
her description was so lame "concrit welcome except plz no comments about how i need an underskirt i can't help being tall!" Yeah you can't help being tall but you can either have the dress altered or wear a fucking underskirt. At the very least, don't wear utk socks, ffs.
It looks like a bear parachute on the back.
Seriously, if you're calling it Bear princess in your description, you could at least go balls-to-the-walls with bears and bigger hair and make-up.
I don't really see this as lolita at all but I do love that fabric, it's really cute for something Christmas-themed.
Gotta agree about the makeup, it's jarring and very middle school.
My preference is for the girl on the left's coord, but I have a weird dislike for princess sleeves.
This shit is cool as FUCK! I looove it! I just wish they made ball jointed tights in darker skin tones. She should have tried to make her own. Or just left them out compleatly, the whole "creepy doll" thing could be easily expressed without such an obvious jab.
Well duh I know that but as >>8751942 and >>8751944 have pointed out, and also judging by their typing style it gives away who's likely posting the vendettas.
The girl in >>8751398 is recovering from an eating disorder and so every time she's posted here, the same vendetta chan comes in "urrhurr fatty". Every single time. It's super obvious.
just let it go. Not every friendship lasts forever. Go outside. Take a walk, surround yourself with people you enjoy. We all know you're just hoping she'll see the fat comments so she'll relapse. Just chill out m8, learn to love yourself more so you can stop hating on others.
If I could roll my eyes any harder, they'd roll out of my head.
From far away, her tattoos look fine.
If you don't like them for your body, cool. Don't get em.
But she has them. She's not going to cover them up for every coord, especially when it's a hot day for her.
I'm not saying her coord/outfit looks good or bad, but seriously stop saying a coord looks bad because of tattoos.
a girl tried to tell her it wasnt ouji and gave decent concrit but she just ignored it and said 33 people like it so she doesnt care... 33 when the average for even meh coords is 100? thats bad, son.
You must have tattoos yourself because you sound like you're defending your own tattoos. She really needs to cover hers with a pair of OTKs if she's not going to coordinate around them.
what the fuck there is no way memorial cake stretches out this big
I desperately want these fawn accessories.
That hat is amazing! Would love to see more detail shots of it.
This on the other hand... I saw that girl's tumblr post about finishing it and how much work she put it but it just does not look good. Weird shape and the beading looks like it would fall apart any moment. Plus her hair is way too flat and thin looking for that thing- if she had a ton of voluminous hair/wig to sit it in, it might look a little bit better (nevermind hiding that bright red hair that doesn't match anyway).
It's most likely alerted. The halter jsk doesn't have a zip but has full back shirring. She probably had them extended with the waist straps or cut the elastic. Either way, I'm sad for that dress. And the shoehorned black is ugly.
something looks so off with this coord
no THIS is PT haha
Posting a few ILD cuties I didn't see shared yet
Is it fine to self-post and ask for concrit? I recently posted my coord on COF but I didn't get much likes. I know that I shouldn't care about it, but as >>8752347
said, the average for even meh coords is a 100 so I think I'm doing something wrong. I know this used to be okay to do in past threads, but after the whole self-posting/concrit debacle in the previous thread I just want to make sure.
Looks really nice to me. I agree that she pulls off sweet but doesn't look childish. Looks more elegant/mature sweet. I'm not sure if it's just the picture but the tights look red to me ? That would be my only complaint that they are out of place
It doesn't matter as long as you indicate it's a self-post. It's only obnoxious if it has nothing to do with the thread or you're trying to pass it off as "look at this girl, she's so perfect and kawaii"
Nah but this kind of stuff happens all the time though, nothing compared to lolkate-tier. Maybe I'm jaded after visiting cgl so often that I'm like "Over the top? Pfft this is basic as fuck". Basic ass vendetta chan needs to get a life or at least some new insults.
Sure. Self posting because you want con-crit and self posting to prove to everyone who said your outfit was ita that you can put together a none ita outfit are two very separate things.
I love them. I think it adds a certain alt feel to a coord that can often assert that the wearer is alternative and is not wearing a costume. A lot of lolita just ends up looking costume-ish. But with a tattoo it's just like " oh she's a wirdo and not playing dress up" same thing goes for piercings.
I don't have any myself (I don't have a high thrash old for pain Lol) but I often struggle to make my clothes look like clothes and not a costume. It's very annoying to me when it gets confused for one.
Less arguing, more coords.
I thought this was so cute!
Maybe she doesn't like the look or is uncomfortable with the ribbons tied under her chin. That's understandable, not everyone likes that, but it would have been better to tie the ribbons under her wig than... whatever she did here.
Its boring to the point where it doesn't even look like lolita. Like, if this wasn't posted on a lolita board and I saw you on the street, it wouldn't come to mind that this is lolita.
This is cute a bit casual! I would personally suggest a change of shoe though, something a lighter color. A different style altogether, this cuts off at your ankle and just makes you look short and stumpy.
Thank you. I didn't want to go the OTT route, but now that I look at my picture, I think I did go too simple. I'll try to find some fancier blouses and more jewelry next time!
I'm thinking of getting the new JetJ Pointe heels in either bordeaux (to match the waist ribbon) or pink (to match the rest of the dress). Would that work better?
Has OTT Gone Too Far-
The shocking conclusion here
How is tea length dresses even lolita?
This ita mess apparently won a coord contest, I feel bad for the rest of the comm
>that frazzled wig
>that nasty lace underskirt
>cream, white, red clashing
>literally wearing fucking cheap, ugly ornaments
>they look too clunky
Why do you use this tern when referring to shoes that aren't clunky?
Also the shoes remind me of oxfords that everyone has been shoving into their classic coords lately.
This gave me a ladyboner and I fapped to it. H_D is my wife.
I really like how wearable this one looks. It's simple and cohesive
This is cute. I feel like it would have made a good Halloween coord.
I like this but it also looks like every other generic coord w/ this dress. Also the hat decorations look like colored paper taped to it. I'm curious about what she used for it. Its a good coord, just really predictable.
Is that a fucking taxidermied animal in the background
Here's another cute one. Wintery without being too ott but still fancy for ILD
Funny you should say this because I think some sort of witchcraft was involved. I was at the meet she wore this to, and at some point she took it off to try something on, and just popped it back on afterwards, no hairpins or anything, with the ties in the back like in the picture, and it just stayed on her head perfectly.
I don't agree. An outfit doesn't have to be OTT to be lolita. This one hits all the lolita rules, but it is simpler than a lot of the coords you see posted these days so that may be why you didn't get many likes.
I like it, it's just not very eye-catching so people may have easily overlooked it. It doesn't mean your coord is bad, but I think a more dynamic pose would serve you well. More elegant shoes in the dark red color would also look a lot nicer.
this is pretty much what i think too. i can see each individual item incorporated into other lolita coords, but everything together it just doesn't scream 'lolita' to me. it looks really cute and i'd totally wear something like that casually, but i wouldn't really consider it lolita.
i feel like this is a similar scenario with ott AP salopettes- lots of people don't consider them lolita even if you coord them with all lolita items, there's just something off.
I did that because I had to drive/take stuff on and off at the swap meet I went to. The ties were way too long and it looked weird and bulky when tied in front, and I couldn't really put it under the wig when I had to take it off so much. I kinda liked the way it looked, but I can see why others wouldn't. I probably won't do it with other coords unless it's the same situation. Thanks for the crit.
The crowns of those old 3F bonnets are absurdly small; I think there was more suction cup action going on than witchcraft, but honestly with how well it stayed there probably was some black magick there.
I feel like I'm getting a bit of a old-school vibe from the accesorization and bear theme but also a kind of "thrown together" vibe that I like about the some of the old school. It's weird. Then again, I'm a sucker for chocolate coords and Kuma Kumyachan
Doesn't the obvious lack of interfacing on the zippers also show on this. Generally lower quality dresses, which tends to be a giveaway on replicas for me without being too close because the zippers don't lay flat.
i thought it was pretty creative and it makes sense given your mobility reasons. i read your CoF post just now, it's funny you mentioned how difficult that dress is to coordinate.. I made a similar mistake as a noob with the same print, but I've since collected that dress in every color!
Look for a blouse with 3/4 length sleeves (princess sleeves would make this very elegant, but might go to OTT), or a blong sleeve, high necked blouse. I like the neckbow though. Another option would be to get a burgundy bolero if you want to coord this for winter.
Also, look for heeled oxfords that are a little more dainty. A cute way to tie them into your coord would be to lace them with dark red ribbons.
For head ornamentation, try to find some rose flower clips to pull out the motifs of the dress. You can put these in your hair or on a matching red beret. Overall, I really love the dress and the colors. I think it needs a bit more poof to help get the silhouette more into true lolita territory, but this coord is nearly there!
Yeah looks very minimal effort to me, put everything pink from your wardrobe and you could dress like a dream too! Oh obviously you need to be slim with skinny legs. SKinny legs get away with anything.
I hate that wig so much it looks so tacky. Even if her makeup was perfect that wig ruins every outfit she puts it in. It could have been so cute otherwise.
This is cute even if it's not lolita but that liner is giving me anxiety and I'm not feeling the yellow bag.
This is so cute but I hate furry accessories with short sleeves
I thought it was meow_tan at first glance, especially in the first picture.
Mind giving me some suggestions? I wrote in the post that I had to immediately drive 3 hours home, get changed, and go straight to work. So I wanted to go a bit more simple.
I would love any concrit anyone has to offer
They're like a staple now. I've never liked them and now they're showing up in most classic coords. I'm slowly starting to like classic less and less because of cgl's ridiculous standards taste..
There's many pdx lolitas on here, Portland is brought up in every comm thread.
Just a lot of
'they're all racist catty elitist cunts on there!'
They're too busy counting their spoons or focusing on their ddlg kink to worry about people on here anyways
Don't worry. They just think anything that isn't covered in unicorn gizz and if you're not covered in 5,000 accessories + holding a stupid prop means you're boring. Take it as a compliment.
Thanks! Did you get the other cuts of the dress as well? I don't believe I've ever seen another coord with this colorway, which was the least popular. It probably has something to do with the inaccurate stock photos making it look like a shit brown as opposed to the deep wine that it is. It's a super underrated dress, I'm glad you've mastered yours!
Are you high?
>Random pink at bottom of hair
>giant flower headpiece and brooch that don't match the dress at all
>bag and cardigan would be matching enough if there were more brown-ish tones, but there aren't
Haha that makes me happy I posted her ugly ass. I'm from the Midwest and don't care about e-fame whores, just want bad coords to get torn apart so tacky items like underskirts and peignoirs will stop being acceptable
I think the girl on the left could have really benefited from some sort of head piece. Something simple, like a side bow. I liked the coord overall, it was really nice and clean.
I also enjoyed the girl on the right's coord. It's interesting to see something obviously designed for summer be used in a winter look. My only concrit would be the footwear. I see what she's trying to do, but I think the point toe is a bit awkward. Perhaps faux fur topped lace up white boots would have been better?
You're the type of person who is a wet blanket at parties.
Go get laid or something.
That should force you to get that stick out of your ass.
~bet the person you'll fuck will have tattoos too~
Oh yeah sorry I'm the girl in the picture! I've been a bit sick so I look a tad pale and I wasn't told when they were taking the picture so I didn't know when to smile. I promise I typically look more cheery.
so many pretty textures and patterns but they alll look good together i wanna cry
I like all of this except the leggings, they look a little too dark after the lightness of the dress and it's kind of a weird transition. I also love the way she did her hair and makeup I feel like it really suits her face.
My only real complaint is that she looks like her skin has pink undertones so wearing so much pink makes her skin look really red. I bet she'd look pretty in a light blue though!
>have dark skin
>wear white ball-jointed doll tights
Seriously, if you're dead set on them why not comission a pair closer to your complexion (or diy). Now that I think of it, it would look much better painted with mostly highlights and not just the shadows.
Shoes need to go, also practise posing, and make sure whoever takes your photos does so from a lower angle.
Get a better bra, it will allow you to pull the skirt up a little higher and the straps to sit more on your shoulders. The fit of the blouse looks a little off but maybe that will help that too. I think a more voluminous, and maybe longer hairstyle/wig would look more balanced as well, especially if you still want to wear the rosette in your hair- as it is now it looks too large and flat against your head. I personally would rather try to wear it as a pin on the chest and chose a different hair accessory, however.
