Didn't see one in the catalog. Here's my Jessica from Dragon Quest VIII that I plan to revamp soon.
Is this a vendetta thread? I just feel like a seagull wouldn't produce that sort of cosplay
you look great!!
i'm hoping to fix this up a little by katsu and even do an actual photoshoot of it, but here's my monomi/usami from sdr2, i worked really hard on it and i think it came out pretty good!! (and i do actually have shoes for it, they're gold, i'm just not wearing them in this pic because i was at a meetup at a friend's house and had already taken them off)
I did her VIII design, not Heroes (as you posted), which is more simple. Though that was really last minute, I really need to update it
Thank you! You're super cute as well!
I'm an A cup and couldn't get everything needed for proper cleavage in time (like I said, this was super last minute), but next time, will do, senpai!
It still is really off. The corset is the wrong color and shape, the boots are entirely wrong, the skirt has no ruffles, the shirt is wrong (did you seriously just put a normal longsleeve top off of your shoulders?), the pigtails are too low. This looks like closet cosplay to be honest.
Not terrible if it's a first or second attempt at cosplay, but otherwise, I'm calling vendetta, too.
Just got my pictures back from Youmacon last month.
For future reference, there are these things called "irons". They heat up and produce steam and pressure and are used to remove wrinkles from clothing.
You should maybe look into getting one.
i know this isnt the greatest velma ever
Ill post mine too since it's been a while since I've seen a Velma post.
Not the best but I had tons of fun as Chica from FNAF!
Recently rushed cosplayed Daisy for a duo with a friend. It was fun taking turns being called Peach.
that one is pretty good but my photo took over $4k to take~
and whatever this guy paid to get the shirt made
I got the sweater at good will, made the socks and skirt. First time making either of those. I really need a photoshoot of my updated Velma with actual matching socks to that same sweater. I had to dye the socks for it. And then I had actual shoes now and a better skirt. I really loved this cosplay, but at the same time was disappointed with myself for it not being as accurate as possible to the actual character. The skirt especially.
i mean when your photo shoot is done with a camera phone...
since i like self posting so much have another
That's great to hear! I really liked Velma as a kid. Your attention to detail shows in >>8745420, so I would be happy to see the version you are actually satisfied with.
I wonder how much money you're bathing in, lol. From what I can see, your cosplay is clean, and what I would expect from a self-posting seagull. If this is a photoshoot though, it's a bit lackluster.
Here's one of the lady and I from earlier in the year. Wish we had taken more pics in these cosplays.
its a WoW character, and their elves are notorious for having really exaggerated ear proportions
Ahahaha this is actually my first time making a full set of armor, and I learned a lot in the process. Used a lot of old kamui tutorials, specifically the one where she covered EVA wedges with gold lycra for the filigree on her Alexstrasza costume.
I'm never doing that again, and will opt for paint/primer next time but I still liked how it turned out.
I didn't enter any competitions or anything since this was purely for my own enjoyment, as Tyrande has been a dream cosplay of mine for a while.
hell, i'll post again, i'm vain and i don't give a fuck.
i want to rework some parts of this cosplay (mainly the bodice, you can't see the issues well in this pic but there are a lot) but i'm still real proud of how this came out for my first somewhat complex cosplay sewn entirely by hand.
plus i did a rad photoshoot with it and i love this one in particular because my legs go on for miiiiles hot damn
Wish I had a miko outfit too for the location but I'm sure the leaves are gone by now for another one
Had a great time at this years Dragoncon. The boots sucked but I have since finished a better replacement pair.
A pic that came out from a photoshoot a few months ago. The headpieces and wings were a bit janky so I passed on wearing those to it. This has to be one of my favorite pictures out of it. Took way too many tries to look good and time it perfectly haha.
O-oh ? Im familiar with the technique actually, i just did those edges like than on purpose specifically for the stiff effect to give it that warcraft stylization. I didnt know people would see it and think i did it on mistake..
Made this a few months back, not its sitting in my room along with a bloodied jumpsuit. First time working with foam/foamboard so I'm quite happy with the results
Sorry for selfie format, but I was really happy with my makeup.
I love the location and your cosplay! Really cute!
My Zatanna. I like my legs in this pic. I'm aware of my oddly shaped hips. Hopefully, getting more toned can smooth out everything...
Actually no! They're weighted, though they sometimes look crooked in photos.
I've had them for way longer than someone should probably own a pair of contacts, but I paid like $150 for them so throwing them out would kill a piece of my soul. I just clean them regularly and pray I never tear them.
This was in such stark contrast to everything else I did this year, I was so happy that a handful of people people recognised me at the con.
Ok, here it goes.
I've never really posted on /cgl/ before. Always just lurked. Haha
I've been planning to fix up the ponytails a bit. But haven't had the chance since the group I'm in currently, I'm Honoka. But the next time I get a Nico outfit, I'll probably get around to thinning out the pigtails.
Your make-up is really nice and smooth, but i have some nitpicks, you face looks a bit flat and your eyelashes stand out from being white, which light grey shading/contouring could really fix along with a very small amount of mascara. And then i think your eyebrows are too high up, making them and your whole look not seem intimidating (but people can't really help the shape of their eyebrows)
gosh thanks so much!! the location was fun to shoot at but the castle is at the edge of a high cliff, and it was REALLY windy up there so we had trouble getting a good shot. you can kind of tell from this pic how windy it was, though this one's probably my least favorite from the shoot because i'm making a dumb face and you can see all the issues with the bodice of the dress that i mentioned before.
also not pictured: all the children who were running around and wanted to take pictures of me, and the one little girl who told her mom to "look at the princess!" and then hid behind her mom's legs out of shyness it was so cute
I don't recognize it, but this design is delightful and you look great! I love the edge of your skirts!! And your center cutout on the bodice looks flat and clean. Not sure if it's a trim or a wobbly rolled seam or what on your sleeves, though.
How did you make your barbed wire, gore anon?
Beautiful photo and your stockings are great. How did you make them?
>>sub dye suit for phoenix
No, dye subs are fantastic for nearly all spandex suits. Granted this one is not sewn together well, especially around the neckline, but there is no problem with using a dye sub.
Lol no. I think you have me confused with a CosplayDeviant named Envy. She has a whole Velma set on that site. I have thought about doing my own, but then the site just stopped having its appeal. I have lots of friends who are a part of it though and they are awesome as fuck.
I actually Just got some from 2010 that my photographer just gave me. I haven't opened them yet to check them out.
Thank you for the critique! I'm really bad at contouring, and I always say I'll do ti next time, but never practice in between. After all the time it takes putting the white on, risking messing it up with bad contour always deters me.
That's the one, thank you!
It seems that outside of the people who followed it while it aired on /a/, very few people watched Samumenco. Thank you, that cut out had me stressing so much both in the planning/making stages and while wearing it. There's beading around the bottom of the sleeves, although they are one of the things I want to re-do if I wear the costume again.
for the barbed wire I bought a bunch of electric cable and twisted two pieces together unevenly. then secured parts with strong double sided tape.
Barbs are strips of aluminium (?) paper i found lying around and secured to the double sided tape with hot glue since hot glue doesnt stick to electrical cable at all.
then spray painted grey. After it dried I hand painted it all brown.
Image related is when I was done
I'll try to find higher cut ones.
Batman Animated Series Zatanna. but I didn't have time to make the underbust vest so I used a cheap corset.
And with Michael Jeagers, one of the regular Walkers on Walking Dead at Wasabicon 2014. Dude sent convention staff out to find me, because HE wanted a pic with ME. It was a good day.
it's been a while since I self-posted
Have a grainy cellphone pic of my halloween costume
I'm doing it.
Wore this cosplay for about two years, until my mask got stolen at a Halloween party.
Got featured on some nobody's YouTube video in an interview, but that was before I bleached my jacket.
Bit of a closet cosplay but I had a lot of fun wearing it.
I really love this location. It's the art gallery café in the city, it has a small garden. I thought it would be perfect as Youmu is a gardener and she guards a stairway similar to this one.
Still I wish the convention was on when the jacarandas were in bloom.
(I have her pocket-square but it's not in this photo.)
I have nicer photos at home that show more of the location. But they are on my home pc. This is a picture of the café I found on google images as it is impolite to selfpost twice in a row. It's fitting it is an art gallery, as Hakugyokurou is said to be where artists go after they pass away.
self post for the goth annie on the left. I have a bad habit of not getting anything ready in advance so a lot of the bolero was horribly off.
Elite riot gear from fallout new Vegas that I wore to dragoncon. Only my second cosplay so feedback on how to improve would be greatly appreciated
I'll bite. Got bored last night at like 4am so I decided to make this with my Ryuko cosplays.
My fiance (left), me (the middle obviously), and my brother (right) in our mandalorian armor. My brother did all the armor pieces. But we helped with the painting and weathering. I didn't have my helmet though at the time of the picture sadly.
armor looks good but you should shade it and would also recommend painting the bottom side black. the wig could also use some work but overall pretty nice
love the dress, the wig could use some styling to look more accurate but it have potential :)
image editing could be done better, can't really see much of the cosplay but you're cute
love it! location is amazingly pretty
sweet! the coloring of the props are super good
makeup looks flawless~ gj!
legs look great~ but i would use more makeup on the face, it looks a bit odd
good crafting! odd pose for the head tho and boobies look a bit soggy, why no bra?
shame u made it from this fabric cause it looks well made and you're stunning. highly like
pic isn't flattering in my opinion. also i would recommend wearing a shaper under the clothes cause it will help your body so much! i use it all the time
i like what you did with it. would maybe use more weathering on the armor, weapon and clothes to age it well
Just want to say people saying that your boobs look saggy/asking why you're not wearing a bra don't know how boobs/bras work. The cut out looks really clean and your boobs look better in it than a lot of people's would. I like the hem on the skirt and petti too, looks really good!
Sure. What the hell. Have a slightly blurry shot of my newest. Yes I know I'm a fatass
Thanks, most of the pics aren't full length/are from the back so even if this is awkwardly posed it shows the whole thing. Sadly there was no way to get a proper bra on in that thing, and not have it show.
Considering they were literally taped under my armpits the previous day for a crossplay, this is lowkey torture.
Yep, costumes that don't allow for bras (there's a cut out in the back as well) and make you make do with chicken fillets and tape like those, unless you have fake tits, you're gunna have some angles they look not too hot at. Thank you very much!
I use powdered cinnamon and apply it using spray on clear paint (doesnt matter whether its acrylic or enamel). I then usually add some paint details on top of the cinnamon with shades of oranges/purple. I seal all of it with clear auto enamel primer so there's no smell and it doesn't attract ants.
I strongly disagree.
I loath the look of sub dye in the place of good spandex applique. People keep using sub dye in an effort to add realism and dimension but I find that they actual look flat and grossly cartoony (not in a comic-y good way but in a lack of depth way) when used for most super hero costumes.
Like the Spidergwen trend of sub dye shit? Awful.
This 'make every super suit out of sub dye' tend needs to die.
pic related, Rogue sub dye suit that looks like trash compared to good spandex applique.
The only reason that looks so terrible, is because the subdye pattern was shaded terribly, and then sewn together in such a way that it doesn't line up. Similarly, you can have really bad applique that would also look like shit.
This same argument has been had with Worbla, 3D printers, certain types of fabrics, different kinds of foam, paints, and petty much everything else you can think of. It's not the material, or the method that is bad. It is only ever the person making it. If they suck at it, or half-ass it, then it will look half-assed.
I've been dying my hair half brown half blond for about 3 years now, and since they are almost the same person I thought it was a good idea.
ebay. found a white vest, then bought some fabric that matches and made the hood and pockets myself and added them.
here's another pic. I even made the fetus necklace.
Looks really nice a few suggestions though to make it from good to great:
>curl the wig or find a wig with layers that can be curled
>add some lsmall ace detailing to the blouse
>taper the pant legs at the knee down
>use some foundation to reduce the redness and fill your brows in a tiny bit
It's more the greasy real hair that in no way resembles either character's hairstyle, the terrible makeup, the messy boot covers, and the really awkward selfies. There are fat people who are good cosplayers, you're just not one of them.
It's not just that you're fat, this is bad. It's sloppy, half assed, and honestly deserves to be but in the bad cosplay threads.
If you want a hugbox go to tumblr, /cgl/ isn't going to lie to make you feel good about yourself.
Pumpkaboo gijinka for Halloween at Anime USA. This was fun to design and make!
Ahhhh Dia!!! You look great and I actually think your boobs look really accurate/good for the cosplay. She's on my list too and I'm probably going to have to make an entire chest plate if I want it to look accurate. You did a great job and I'm always THRILLED to see what little samflam cosplay is out there!
This is so cool and looks really realistic.
This made me smile.
This looks fantastic, especially for your second cosplay. It's clear you put a lot of time and effort into this.
Here's my recent cosplay with Buccaneer Tristana from League of Legends. It was fun to make the hat but I had problems with the undershirt. I also made my first prop but it's paper mached but at least I've learned something on building weapons.
My wig didn't arrive in time for Halloween but I still think this is a very cute picture! (I randomly came across little Raven while trick or treating)
Anon pls stop being so goddamn pretty
I can only get so jelly
I haven't made anything new in months, so here's a bunch of old stuff.
Yes, I am very inexperienced with makeup. I am working on improving, though. My big goal right now is to stop blinking and flinching so much when I try to apply any makeup near my eyes.
Here's my NCR ranger. Currently remaking the helmet to make it less shitty.
Heres me being a faggot in said ranger too.
Me as Krieg for my first real cosplay.
I'm happy with the mask and the axe, but the rest is mediocre I guess.
(been coming back to this thread for days, but pussied out from posting every time)
Everyone's bitching but desu anon if you got some shapewear just to keep you all packed in, this would be fine. You're cosplaying for your body type and as far as I'm concerned that alone is respectable.
Can I ask for opinions on this?
It's my first time attempting Ciri makeup, from the Witcher 3. I didn't do freckles because I don't know howwwwww. Mostly wanting to see if you guys think the wig share looks good, and the scar.
Everything else needs work. Doing an on purpose smudged eyeliner like her is harder than I thought haha.
For wig color, and reference I'll be using cd's actual character guide of her, not the hundreds of screenshots I have. So it is based of this pic.
Trying my Rise cosplay.
Hope I receive the right glasses before the con.
Ill try to put this nicely but you may want to get a more accurate skirt (with a houndstooth pattern) and wig needs to be more red brown. The clips ons arent even the same colour as the base even if you do stay with this one. Additionally you need to cut the bangs, they look like they've just been parted to one side.
Rise is a simple cosplay its a bit of a shame you didnt even bother with trying to get the details right.
Also, yes, sadly I know that the wig is wrong but meh, it was too late.
I'm really considering to take care of it
(sorry for bad english, not my first language)
And also fire the person who does my shoots because she really can't do stuff
I just feel like in-game it comes across really blonde at times. But mostly in sunny scenes.
I feel like your face looks a bit too bony for Ciri, not gonna lie
Although I think the wig and scar looks great, and I only notice the face thing since the picture is a close up of your face, on full body pics with the whole costume it probably wont be so prominent
You could say it's a warmer grey but from what I can see your wig is more neutral instead of cool. Like inbetween the two.
In the photos of yourself the wig is two different colours so I'm looking at the one on the right as I assume that's what it looks like in person. The one on the left matches your reference more.
I think she's okay. Ciri's features aren't the softest anyway.
Very spooky. I saw the file name and the crooked eyes at the same time and made an involuntary honking sound.
> sideburns not convincing.
I hope it's okay that I post a phone selfie for now! I'm getting real pictures taken tomorrow, but I really like cosplaying Maki! I'm part of a love live dance group for Anime Boston and we have all the girls in cheer uniforms! I cosplay Nico usually but I think I might start doing more Maki!
Lol, the black girl on the right has longer legs despite wearing shorter heels and being shorter.
Unless she has some weird discolouration on her legs yours are at least 2 classes below hers.
Was so fucking done at this con. Fuck that masquerade was a mess.
I personally think my features could fit because her face isn't soft at all. And she has a very serious or angry look to her for most of the game. She's not really some doe-eyed girl.
I tend to look different from afar though. Pic related in cosplay, very little Photoshop.
Next time you're at Youma or MCM, the best places to shoot are outside. In between the RenCen and Cobo, there's a park with a labor monument that's perfect for sci-fi shots. A ten minute walk in the opposite direction and there's wetlands, a creek, and a cute carousel to break into.
Self-posting from MCM.
I don't know what I'm saying. Midwest Media Expo. Have a picture of the carousel.
not sure what you mean by that because my face is actually pretty round? regardless i don't cosplay characters based on how angular my face is/isn't seeing as that's not something i can really change without a lot of plastic surgery (i mean makeup can help but only so much), i cosplay characters because i like them and i really like madoka l m a o
Little Witch Academia. Myself as Akko my lovley lady friend as Diana.
>guys I need help with makeup
>uploads two strangely angled, heavily edited photos
Your face isn't too bony for her at all like >>8759523 said but it's impossible to give good critique when we can't see how the makeup actually looks.
Ignore people who pity violin hips. Violin hips are actually considered attractive by a lot of men, and many women too. Also no sense in feeling sorry about something you can't change. Your problem isn't your hips, it's not having enough muscle to balance out the shape. Start doing more strength exercises and the muscle definition in your legs will help balance out the violin shape more.
I have violin hips too. The more muscle I put on, the more the violin is accentuated, regardless of the fact that I have a balanced workout. They look like >>8747062's diagram on the left no matter how much or how little I eat/work out.
It was a lot of fun, with a couple of cosplay disasters before. We made the boots from scratch that fell apart just before the event. I may try to fix it for a con in the future.
The hair color choice isn't great. Like why would you choose to do this for 3 years and think it looks good?
Also wigs for cosplay please. Especially if you had frizz, split ends and overall meh hair.
Make up could use some work but is still better than Ash-chan. The pants? Leggings? Look wonky as fuck, they're too loose.
Overall it's not a great costume and has so many things than need to be improved. I don't even care on your weight. It's still messy and unpolished and bleh all around.
Gonna do a couple photos here to counter my presence in the bad makeup thread
>want to post a pic
>remember I haven't cosplayed anything in two years
fuck being poor
I really liked this from the waist up...then i kept looking down and saw the shitty jeans and workmans boots....they couldn't have worn black jeans at least? :C It doesnt do any justice to the nice pieces in this photo
honestly, the main problem with your hips seems to be that the leg holes on your outfit are way too low, making it look like a baggy japanese schoolgirl bathsuit instead of a sexy zatanna bodysuit.
the flimsiness of the fabric doesn't help either...
I did Kanji at ACEN and ASTL 2015. Was also my 1st cosplay as well
Better picture. Yes I'm a creep with lots of pictures of you.
Not OP but that's what Mom Lalonde normally means, as opposed to just saying Rose. Mom Lalonde could be Roxy or Rose as the mom..? Rose in this case. I can't remember my HS for shit.
no, just saying "mom lalonde" generally refers to beta mom, which is roxy as mom, pic related. rose mom is typically referred to as "alpha rose" or "alpha mom"
they're both mom though, so just saying mom could really mean either even though for the most part people use it to refer to the original mom.
My varia suit, i finished it 2 weeks ago
really? Thank you. Hell the photo's horrible since this was like 2 minutes before I ripped off the costume in the room since I had been stuck in it all day. My socks are falling down too. Seriously last Sac Anime's masquerade was so bad and I'm still salty over treatment of everyone involved in it.
>i lost the contest against an elsa
Oh man, I would be so pissed
Any else in the world, even if it was an else who came to life straight out of the movie, cannot compare to what you put together
Sorry the judges has so shit taste anon
You're a winner in my books any day
(also, I'm kinda getting into making papercraft armor, do you have any good tuts/books/vids/links or anything else that you could share for a beginner?)
Me and my friends doing a full Fans cosplay at NYCC 2015.
I'm the Ash in the pic.
While it could be shitty judges going over what they like, instead of what was well made, it could also be a few other reasons.
Instead of judge based, it could be one of those shitty "audience applause" votes, and Elsa got a bigger crowd reaction.
Or it could be that this was more performance based than workmanship based, and Samus-anon didn't have the stage presence that the Elsa had.
It was a mix, one of the judges was a random fat woman that gave a lot of money to the organization, it seems that she liked frozen A LOT and that info must have been leaked because I counted 3 Elsas out of just 20 cosplayers
I made a 1,5mx,6m gunship, a planet zebes with an explosion on the back, i even made a huge botwoon manequim with 3 articulated parts, a baby metroid and a mother brain, my presentation was based on super metroid btw.
No one in the audience recognized anything from my presentation, just that "robot" from smash bros called samus.
Elsa lifted a cardboard castle and had a change of corset while a spanish version of "Let it go" was sounding... she had help from 5 assistants on the stage, and the contest rules said "only a max of 2".
On the second day there was this election where people voted with their tickets for their favorite cosplay, and i won. But those 5 or 10 points weren't enough...
One of the judges was an FX expert and at the end of the con he was arguing loudly with the fat woman about the results.
I loved the people's reactions to my costume, it was a very long time since the last time i cosplayed and I missed that feeling.
I've already started my next costume, i'll have to make digitigrade tilts for this proyect, pic related
PS: sorry for my poor english
I don't have any links, i learned by myselft and i'm still learning with my mistakes, i heard that eva foam is very popular now for armors, my advice would be to learn to edit 3d models, at least the basics so that you can make them wearable
