Dual coloured lips look like her mouth is another eyebrow + shadow (which I also don't like the look of), contact is wrong colour (and also not a sclera, but I'd forgive that if it was at least a vivid yellow and not puke green), body paint is streaky, ear fins are stubby baby fingers, contouring around face is nonexistant, bald cap is glaringly obvious, eye patch is too big for her face, no indication of a fish nose at all. He is a smooth operator, though. He doesn't act edgy or 2cool, which Tumblr often does, but he's never actually seen being slobbish or gross besides the sock and the trash tornado thing in his room.

All of his lines are smooth as fuck, he's composed and funny.

Add in that and the protective brother thing and the judgement /genocide aspects of his personality, and it's no wonder he's so popular.

idk if it's just me, but all the fursuits I've seen look really odd. Even with an alright face, I think that the proportion is skewed because the fursuit heads dwarf everyone's shoulders so it just looks bobblehead-y? I'm not a fursuiter, so idk what the usual fix for that is (I'm sure it's gotta be a common issue) but, shit, both of these partials would improve dramatically if the shoulders were more in proportion.

any advice on how to do frisk's sweater? i was thinking of taking a solid color pullover and painting the stripes on, but i feel like that would come out looking too messy, and im not sure how to go about getting the stripes printed on.

The part of me that loves complicated projects and loves to hate myself is getting more and more tempted to create a Grillby cosplay. The unfortunate part, is that if I used the methods I want to, I'd need a handler because I don't think I'd be able to see through all the TranspArt, tulle, and other shit I'd use to make the flames. This will be the wig. I haven't thought about adding a hairline so far because I'd like to use it for other cosplays too. But it's a great idea and I'll take a good thought about making an additional one, not attached to the wig directly.

I do agree, Anon. Though in their defense, it can be hard to watch proportions in fursuits, as the fur bulks the shape out so much, so you have to carve your shape a little smaller then intended.

Also a little costume proprortion adjustments could fix the head. Like the layered shoulder pieces in Asriel's boss form.

I'm actually doing a resin-mask styled Asriel 'fursuit', Which I would think would work better in some cases. Gives you a tad more control over proprortions in my opinio.

So I'm wanting to cosplay as Alphys, but I'm really not a fan of the blonde wig and glasses cutesy humanized version that most people seem to default to. I'm thinking I really want to make like a full thing with a head and a movable jaw and a tail, as well as clawed feet and hands. I'm having trouble deciding how to do some of the details though.

For instance, some people draw her with a flatter nose, and less exaggerated spikes, while her sprite obviously has a somewhat pointy nose. Another thing is deciding how many claws she will have. I was thinking four on each hand and each of the feet.

Additionally, I've noticed that most people cosplay and draw her wearing a doctors coat, but technically she's a scientist, right? So shouldn't she be wearing a Howie coat (like a mad scientist type thing)?

What do you guys think? I really want to make this perfect.

I would say, stick to the sprite sheet you included. Do you have experience with foam construction/fursuits/mascots? If not, I would personally ditch the functioning jaw. Very finicky and often breaks up and takes away from the overall shape of the mask, speaking foam-wise.

I would suggest four claws for the hands, three for the feet. Hiding the human shape is one of hte funner aspects of foam/creature costuming. I would suggest taking a photo of yourself and drawing over it in photoshop to get an idea of how to translate certain proportions from the sprite art to the tangible 3D costume. (Heck, even doing so on paper would be good.

Another tip is, for the head, to sculpt the head in clay at a minature scale Preferably half the size you intend it to be in foam form. and wrap seran wrap over the clay form, then tape over the seran wrap/clay form and draw your pattern onto the tape. Each pattern piece has to lay flat individually when cut, so try to break up the shapes into flat geometric planes. A dart here or there will help tremendously. Then resize the pattern and transfer to foam. Keep the original clay form with the pattern pieces tacked on to where they should respectully be, to help yourself in the foam stage.

Pic related. An Alphys head I had started with the exact method I mentioned. I personally prefer it in this case, as it help keep the form stream lined and true to her simplistic shape. But, really, do what works best for you. Goodluck

I'm currently working on a cosplay for Undyne, but one problem I've run into is the eyepatch. I was expecting my peripheral vision to be fucked up because of it, but for some reason it's so bad I actually get a migraine after wearing it for only about 20 minutes.

I'm cosplaying her date version, so my wig covers half of my face anyway (I don't have the migraine problem with the wig for some reason) so could I go without wearing the eyepatch? Or is there a way to cut a small slit in it or something?

If you think good contacts aren't very noticeable, then they aren't good (or at least right for a particular outfit or eye colour.) Also I suppose contacts being a pain is subjective; I've never found them to be a hassle.
