Not as cool as the fry madonna crown. I didn't have enough ribbon to make the ruffles as dense as I wanted. The sesame seeds and burger are painted gold though which I think was a good touch. There was a clip on the bottom but I don't think any worn pics survived when my old computer died.
Unfortunately one of the fries in the crown somehow wasn't sealed right and made a spot in the box I stored them both in greasy so I just threw both away. Didn't want to get ants.

Oh man.. I posted so much in this photo.

>shouldnt be this proud of a roast
>>
>>8724055
I still don't understand this because its just such an unflattering skirt to begin with. Its that awkward fullness that isn't petticoat-worthy but also isn't just a slightly loose airy skirt, the length doesn't work with the shape, the colors are awful, the pattern would only be cute if it was much larger, and the fabric looks like cheap outdoor nylon. There HAS to have been something nicer at that booth. Something at least kind of cute if not actually lolita.
>>
>>8723911
What an exhausting read. I'm happy lolita is so elitist, because it keeps people like this out of the fashion.
>>
>>8723911
This was a trip to read. Good on them for not entertaining her ridiculous ways.

>>8724242
Franche Lippee is a brand for mums 30-45 anyways. Definitely not lolita.
>>
>>8724055

>>
>>8724055
It's people like this that make etsy a goldmine. 200 for a skirt that literally looks like a satin bedspread, holy shit. I can def see them buying a hotglued felt minihat with plastic raschel lace and a :3 face sharpied on to go with it.
>>
>>8724055

>>
>>8724550
I know, I'm just saying even with that booth selling questionable shit as lolita there has to have been something there at least trying to be lolita. Even just an Ebay level lace monster.
>>
>>8718764
Not the anon you replied to but I doubt she even got in. Had a tumblr mutual who cosplayed Élise de la Serre's ballgown from AC Unity and went to Versailles, but they were only allowed into the gardens I believe, not the actual palace. So I think that anon wouldn't be allowed in either to make sure no one mistakes them for a reenactor (though Belle's gown isn't exactly 18th century [neither was Élise's!], but w/e).

Is it a replica or are the colors way off in the photo? the actual print is a lot lighter pink
>>
>>8728326
The colours are too bright and the stripes are weirdly runny, like they've been airbrushed. The tiny bits of print visible in that trainwreck are similarly oversaturated, undefined, and awkward. The material looks like some cheap shiny shit, not Baby's usual quality.
It COULD be really, really overenthusiastic photoshop and bad lighting. But judging by the weird ageplay photo, the skirt quality and the price, it's a replica being sold by a delusional dipshit.
I really, really hope that whoever's watching this is doing so for a laugh.

Aww, it's a cute JSK now that I looked it up. Is there any colorway you prefer or is this just hard altogether to find on auctions?
>>
>>8709820
I was there for that, and it was glorious.
On a side note, is there a decent, long-lasting glaze to make this sort of thing with? Or do you have to basically encase the whole thing in acrylic?
>>
Worst thing was I received a dress with staining and some snags, but the seller gave me a partial refund.

I'm grateful that it's never anything worse than this
>>
>>8716780
Omg! I actually saw this for sale in a shop in Auckland, NZ. After seeing all the shit about it I just instantly started manically laughing right in the doorway of the shop.

To make it worse, the construction is shocking and the material is shiny and makes the noise that all cheap shit seems to make.. Why anyone would want to wear this in lolita is waaaayyy beyond me..
>>
>>8729929
Never thought I'd be giving advice for how to do this but... make sure the food is as dry as humanly possible by putting it in a sealed container with silica gel packets or a pellet dehumidifier (I got one at Dollar Tree). I then did a coat of mod podge making sure to coat everything ENTIRELY (though I failed with one fry). If the food holds moisture you're going to get mold. Or ants. Then I sealed the stuff with 2 layers of spray acrylic per side (lay the item in a box, spray it nice and good, let dry, flip, spray again, repeat). Once it's dry and coated stuff is pretty sturdy. People suggested to use resin but I've worked with resin and it's such a mess if you aren't just pouring a mold.
Alternatively you can buy replicas of real food. There's displayfakefoods.com and I know people have found japanese shops that sell super realistic dessert models in the past.
>>
>>8730034
Thanks, anon. I was mostly interested in making biscuit brooches similar to the dearie one for myself, so I'll try it out. If they crack/fall apart, I'm the only one who will care.
>>
I bought a skirt on lace market and the seller lied about shipping it so she really shipped it like 8 days later than initially promised. Then when I got it she had just put it in a paper Axes Femme bag and taped a shipping label to it. The shipping label said what day it was initially shipped too so I know.
This is the worst I've dealt with and it wasn't extremely bad but come on. Don't be a liar about shit and if someone's giving you a chunk of money for an item, put it in a box or a poly mailer.
>>
>>8730041

Does not help that she's trying to mix lolita with fursuits. The "fur-lolitas" are the fucking worst. Like the art? Fine, at least you could like, coord the fur and shit because it's art.
But the fursuits? No, just stop. It rarely ever looks good unless you're Qi/Luna or doing the Japanese style. Or if it's based around a coord which never happens.

Do all fursuiters use the exact same head shape but just dress it up with different colors? Like even when furries claim to be specific animals they're all just shitty recolors of each other and look nothing like they animals they claim to be.
>>
>>8738858
>tfw this isn't even relevant because you're not trying to join a fashion community with clothing you don't have
>>
>>8738868
It's called "everything is a dog" syndrome. Think of it like anime sameface. Some people cannot into different animals. The makers who can't draw are especially susceptable to that boxy balto-ish, lady and the tramp-ish style. The Japanese style is called kemono. Lower set eyes allow for the whole head to be smaller, and the lack of definite jaw allows the neck to be fitted, but it is equally sameface, just in an aesthetic more congruent with lolita/cutesy stuff.

Not a furry myself, but I admire some of the suit builders that are out there. Some of them are amazing costumers, but the majority skimp and cut corners.

Decent (especially realistic) builders don't do that, and put effort into making their different heads the proper shapes. But the vast majority of generic/toon style heads do often look the same.

Pic related is a collage of heads all from the same studio. They're pretty varied, even between the toonie styled ones.

A lot of the end result comes down to the customer, too. I chose the best ones from this studio, because some of the customer-commissioned designs are just fucking awful. Neon colours everywhere.

what do furries do

do they like hump in the suits or what
>>
>>8738963
What do cosplayers do

do they like hump in the costumes or what

Think of fursuits like somewhere on the spectrum of cosplayer to LARPer. Some people wear them as art or craft, and are just themselves in a costume. Some like being a character, and acting in a large group. And i know some people wear them for sexy times, but those are called murrsuits, and are controversial within the fandom. All quality makers refuse to have anything to do with murrsuits, so they tend to be ugly and poorly made.
>>
>>8738968

>What do cosplayers do
>do they like hump in the costumes or what
i think this was meant to be rhetorical but I actually don't know
>>
>>8738970
They do. Often. Well made cosplays can just be washed. Comparatively fewer fursuiters can do so because, unlike clothes, a fursuit needs to be made specifically for sex, which major suit makers refuse to do. Any cosplay can be used in sex, for the most part. Think cosplay deviants but in private. It's so common it's boring. There isn't a furry equivalent to CD because there are significantly fewer suits that can.
>>
>>8738868
It depends on the artist. The foam bases can be carved and edited to what you want, but considering 80% of furries are male, and just about 70% have canine fursonas/characters, variation is rare. Most beginners stick to canines or canine facial features. Considering the "dog face" is re-occurring in the art as well, actually uniqueness is basically non-existent. I could tell you all the makers who don't dog face, and all the drama, but this just isn't the place (sadly. furry drama is so funny).

>>8738957
The studio is Stuffed Panda Studios, for those interested as least (if you wanna see their other stuff).

>>8738963
the most recent survey shows only... .9% or something use them for sexual things. And only 12% of the community own fursuits.
Fursuits are most commonly used for the wearer to be able to portray their character or even be the character, depending on how deep their in this shit.
To be honest, most of the ones with fursuits aren't complete fucking idiots. It's the ones with the tails and ears you gotta look out for. They're the type to forget how to act in public situation.
>>
>>8738997
I used to hear some of the furry drama from a friend of mine (he writes serial fiction for a living, and has done quite a few furry shorts and erotica stories over the years), and it really is hilarious at times.
>>
>>8738997

>>
>>8739001
Especially how petty some of the shit is.

>>8739004
That's just the tip of the ice berg. By the way that girl (currently goes by Jupey on FA), ended up selling the fursuit from that episode, wanting to get away from all the drama. It's been sold like... two or three times now by other people.
>>
>>8739004
Not even close to juicy dramu. I mean there's the whole rapist wan note-leak accusations (the girl didn't accuse him, her white knights did), shoddy costume makers having a commission head "stolen" after months of jerking around, gofundme babbies faking pregnancies and miscarriages, furries are fucking gold. It's 50% mature, late 20-somethings, and 50% flaming-lispy freak-on-a-leash gays, batshit-insane teens, hyper-autistics, and tumblr-tards. Sooo entertaining, as long as you don't get dragged into it.
>>
>>8739022
I'd love to know these juicy details.
>>
>>8739026
>>8739022
Dude there's rape accusations all the time, confirmed rape, confirmed zoophilia (OVER 14% of the community. Including a really popular fursuit maker known as Java Suits/Wild-Life), convicted pedophiles and pet diddlers that have been arrested, and including one who is a part of the SECURITY STAFF, of all things, of a furry convention.
I don't have a Tumblr, but there's several that catalog all the drama. FuckingFurries, Furry-Fandom-Jerks, Fuzzy/Furry Scumbags (two different blogs).
After 12 years of being around this bullshit, I've seen it all.
>>
>>8739029
I think this is about to fill the PT-shaped void in my drama heart
>>
>>8739034
From an old furfag's perspective, this is everyday. As a non-fur, this is about to be some of the dumbest, but some of the funniest shit you're gonna see. As long as you can ignore the stupid SJW shit that pops up on those blogs you can find gold mines.
OH, and Artists-Beware on LJ. Not only does it help warn you against people not to commission, but the shit these people deal with are 10/10. Whether it's waiting three years on a $20 drawing, or spending $2000 and getting NOTHING in return, it's just...
Stay out of the stupid community, but enjoy the stupid drama.

I was house hunting earlier this year and there's an area near some lakes that were summer cottages converted into permanent residences. It would have been so cute if every person living in the area wasn't a trashy redneck. So many adorable pastel houses with white shutters but with old cars all over their dead lawns and dogs chained up everywhere. It's such a shame. It probably happened because the houses were cheap.

Once when I went bowling there was a furry meet going on directly next to a child's birthday party. The parents were confused and very pissed, since the furries were being extremely rude towards them and the kids. Like I understand that they're obviously there to do their own thing, I've been in that situation too (in cosplay though), but I've never threatened or cussed out a small child because they thought I looked cool and wanted a picture or a hug. You're dressed as a 6 foot tall pink kitten at a place often full of kids. Be fucking polite.

SO, there was once a young man named Timothy C. McCormick/Lemonade Coyote or Cyrus Deer. While on duty as an EMS, he was in an accident. He and a fellow crew member both passed away after being in critical condition in the hospital.
The original fursuit, seen in pic related, was then recreated by a one "magnus diridian". However, when he attempted to wear it to a con (Anthrocon, aka THE BIGGEST FURRY CON IN THE US), he was caught. Having upset many, many people, he was asked to either put away the fursuit or get banned from the con.
He ended up apologizing, but... it was still a little fucked up. I didn't know the guy but, I respect the dead.

>>8739655

wasn't there some furrycon where they got gassed?

There's also the huge drama involving some fursuit maker who owes a fursuit to a 16 year old girl who has to wait until shes 18 to sue them I think
>>
>>8740251
iirc, some idiots at the con ended up accidentally making mustard gas from some janitor's cleaning supplies, and left it somewhere where the chemicals managed to waft into the con proper.

>pls no bully if I'm dangerously misremembering
>>
>>8740253
Oh god I tend to not judge furries too hard since I draw furry art because its a super easy way to get money but holy hell that was stupid if it's true
>>
>>8740257
So many common cleaning supplies can make some deadly stuff. Common sense would tell them not to mess with chemicals but i part of me just knows they were doing it on purpose and freaked out. They were probably looking to huff or some shit.
>>
>>8740251
Eh, it's not uncommon for fursuit makers to be commissioned by minors, but they specifically have rules in their ToS related to this, mostly being either A) a parent has to do it B) They don't let minors commission them. Sucks the girl has to wait but, she should have waited on making such an expensive decision. Most fursuit makers are horribly immature when it comes to running a business, and even then, those who become big names still make a lot of mistakes.
>Looking at you Don'tHugCacti and your horrible attitude

>>8740253
It was a chlorine gas leak at a con known as Midwest Furfest, which is actually happening in a week or so. The source was found in a stairwell, and was intentional.
They did not find the person or people who did it.
>>
>>8740278
She doesn't have to wait until 18 to get her fursuit, she has to be 18 before she can bring a lawsuit to the person who scammed her... apparently.
>>
>>8740281
Oh I know what you meant. I'm saying she should have waited. Fursuit ToS tend to be a bitch and if you do it while you're younger then there's always issues; whether you're a minor making them or a minor wanting one.
I tend to tell younger furfags to wait until they can be finacially responsible, have a parent do it as they are of legal age, or just get a pre-made one that's made for selling.
>>
>>8740284
