A good place to start is by checking taobao sites because they usually do custom sizing. In fact, most indie brands are willing to do that if you ask them.

Also, I'm not sure how new you are to lolita so I'm not trying to sound condescending, but a ton of brands make dresses that can accommodate some plus-size lolitas. Make sure you know your measurements and always check those for each individual dress. If you can find dresses with shirring, do that.

How plus size are we talking here? There is no brand that makes exclusively plus size. You really have to know your measurements and look at every brand and Taobao. A lot of Taobao stores have plus size but AP and Meta also have options.

Honestly as a plus size lolita its always a hunt, and lots of checking of measurements on Lolibrary. You just really need to out the work into it.

Even if a plus size girl wears the same dress as a thin girl, it will sit so obviously different. Usually the waist would be much higher due to boobs, and the viewer would focus on that difference. If two plus size girls are twinning together like in >>8690631 there is no jarring difference.

It honestly depends upon their weight distribution. I find it makes people look a lot larger if they already have big arms and legs. But it can look nice on people who are on the busty side but don't carry excess weight as much in their arms and legs.

I always look a little smaller in chiffon underbust jsks than I do in lower waisted cuts simply because I'm wider in the torso and my weight goes to my midsection and boobs but not to my legs. It hides that a lot better. I'm on the low end of plus, probably about a 14 at the moment. Though they did look nicer on me when I was an 8/10, as did everything else. Curse this weight gain.

Depends on how plus size we're talking. I found an old Meta T size blouse from the mid 2000's on egl-comm-sales about three years ago. I use that often when I wear old school in colder weather since it's long sleeved. Some of Baby's babydoll blouses would work great too. I saw a black one up on mbok for about 2k yen.

DESU, I have Bodyline's l075 and aside the cotton being a little thinner and stiffer than I'd like (not as bad as some bodyline blouses though) it works fine for old school as well. The lace is pretty good too. It's only up in biege for 2L and black and biege for M which would fit on the smaller end of plus for lolita.

There really isn't though. That's why I usually love these threads. That tumblr puts up pics of like all plus size Lolitas, and lots of them are ita or dress badly for their body. These threads have much higher quality desu and give actual inspiration of how good a plus size lolita can look. Seeing half of coords being ita just perpetuates the stereotype that plus size girls always look bad, and you can't make lolita work while fat.

Question from a new big boobed lolita: is letting out brand dresses hard? I love old school and I know that it'll be hard to find anything that'll fit.

The dress seams are normally only 1.5 -2cm wide, including the serged edges that you can't use. So if you let out all the seams you could get maybe an extra inch or two from doing it, while lowering the resale value of your dress, especially if you DIY it yourself instead of taking it to the seamstress (If you're asking on here whether it's hard to do I'm going to guess you're not an experienced seamstress to start with).

It also doesn't help much with the fabric being pulled up, you can also let out the waist seam, but with only one seam that's 1-2cm, best case scenario you only gain 2cm.

So basically, you'd only gain a little bit of extra fabric. I'd only advise it if you already fit into the dress but it looks tight, then the 1-2inches would make all the difference whether it looks boobloafy or not. If you're close to 90cm there's still a pretty good chance old school stuff will fit you (some old school baby is actually pretty generous.).

If you're over 100cm in the bust, it's probably better if you look for fully shirred bodices instead, if you don't like the way full shirred bodies look on you, at least you can take that in to the tailor and then they can reconstruct a new bodice, instead of trying to make a bigger dress out of some small scraps of fabric.

It really isn't though. The waist band is much tighter than their other releases. I fit fine in to their fully back shirred dresses but I can't even pull this one over my bust.

I love Victorian Maiden's stuff, particularly the extremely heavily Victorian inspired stuff, but I'm too fat for them. Anyone know of any alternatives?

If there are any other himekaji/casual J-fash plus girls on here, there are quite a few things on Wet Seal Plus right now that would work (look in the clearance). I spent thirty bucks and got a dress, a pair of shorts, and two tops.
