A place to talk about fashion without a label. So long as it's cute and wearable, post it here!
>Likes things like this
>See so many skirts, dresses, and shorts I'd love to wear
>Have old darker scars from childhood and uneven skin tone on my legs
>to self-conscious about them to wear anything that shows my bare legs or won't look good paired with tights
Maybe one day I'll get over my legs and expand what I wear.
Aw I'm sure your legs look ok. Don't let some silly childhood scars keep you from wearing cute dresses. You'll regret not wearing them once you get a bit older. So go ahead. You can always wear skin tone tights or maybe use scar cream to fade the scars?
time to dump the more wearable coords from my street snap folder
oh wtf sorry for the tiny picture i dont seem to have the full size
>save up and buy a Secret Honey dress
>looks horrendous on me because of my giant manly shoulders
I always find some cute clothes at Forever 21, H&M, Primark(if you have one), Topshop and New Look.
It is very much a hit and miss, and the quality is not AP, but because these are big fast fashion shops, they can afford to invest in any small trends basically, so you have a good chance with them deciding to pick up on smaller street styles like these.
Ah ok, I'm about 15 inches and I'm fairly wary about purchashing shirts, dresses and coats when it comes to Asian brands in general. Thanks, this has been useful!
I love this thread.
I finally bought this with my minimal budget. I know it's a replica, but I find it really cute. Going to hopefully wear it to my graduation (if I have the balls).
I got you anon. It should be a little bigger.
I finally ordered my coat. It's getting cold as heck here. It's super cute but not too attention-seeking or anything so it's perfect. Also ordered a little pompom knit beanie in white to go with it.
I'm really enjoying the Naval/College type of stuff I find on Taobao, are there any brands that make things specifically in this style?
Do it on Tumblr they don't have particularly high standards.
Amavel and Ank Rogue. That store you linked from is full of replicas from them, and also Liz Lisa. BoBon21 recently released a line of all schoolgirl style stuff.
You can, and I promise that at least I will give at least one positive comment, but in general unless a lolcow posts the first few selfposts get all the salt out on the thread. The last few cute fashion generals with selfposts all had the following pattern:
> cute outfits
> can I selfpost?
> yeah sure we love to see new things
> 2-3 selfposts
> cue sudden activity of "this doesn't match, this is bad, you must be 18+ to post on 4chan, etc."
> selfposts number 5+
> 3/4 responses, "this is good, nice foundation, add this"
So just put some bad outfits on and get most of the salt out and then there should be a decent mix of positive/negative comments. It's just when someone posts a grainy/oversized picture that stands out from stuff like stock pictures then most gulls zoom in on it.
Can anyone suggest some youtubers/stores/blogs for someome just getting into kfashion? So far all I find on Tumblr is overedited photos of idols or koreaboos in terrible clothes.
I'm just getting into wearing cute clothes because I've always been really shy and still am and I just ordered a jacket. Hope this is the right thread newfag here.
I'll bite! I've been trying to build up a himekaji wardrobe but I think my coordinates will lean a bit outside of the style due to the extreme casualness I'd like to wear most weekdays.
I think this outfit would have been much better with boots and/or some thigh highs if I'd had them on hand at the time and more accessories (maybe a hat or a nicer necklace?)
I also need to learn to do something with my hair and makeup but >tfw 80% humidity every day
I haven't been able to do anything with my hair lately.
It's just the very beginning but I'm happy that I can start dressing cuter. I'm already getting lots of compliments.
What are some good brands or stores to buy cute other than Taobao?
Liz Lisa, ank rouge, Emily Temple Cute, bobon21 and brands featured in Larme magazine are a good bet for nicer brands.
I've also had good luck on eBay searching things like
Thank you based mislabeled items
The live journal and Facebook gyaru/hime/etc sales groups are also good places to score cute and wearable j-fashion pieces.
I've never put together anything like this before. I didn't notice it on mobile when I ordered it all, but none of the blues match.
I was thinking possibly white sandals to go with it? I'm completely new to this, so any advice or suggestions (like to start over), is extremely appreciated!
That's cute anon. I like the sweater, reminds me of LL. I agree with you on the thigh highs/boots, legwear would have make it cuter. Though more accessories aren't really needed for general cute fashion, so if you'd prefer it as just 1-2 jewelry/accessory than that's good.
Thanks! You have a good eye, the sweater is in fact Liz Lisa.
I guess for an everyday look it's fine without jewelry if I have a cute enough bag or hat, but jewelry would dress it up a bit more maybe.
what type of style is this and where can i find more pics?
I think the mismatching blues + the double milk carton is too much. The skirt and bag look similar so those will look okay together but I think the shirt would clash and double the tackiness. The top and skirt could also work with white shoes though.
Self post, I guess! This was a half-hearted attempt at larme ( no cute makeup so just blocked out my face). I like the shirt and skirt together though!
Well it looks pretty normalfag, but I'm thinking the larme look depends on subtle accessories/ details and the hair and makeup. Get an appropriate bag, cute accessories, curl your hair and follow some of larme's makeup tutorials and it might work. At any rate it's better than tumblr's idea of larme (ott swankiss lel) or Kate's.
Yeah, my hair is really hard to work with so I usually get lazy with it.need to set aside some time to practice more styles.
And I definitely need some more jewelry... It's just so hard for me to walk the thin line between mature cute and teenage cute. I want some more bracelets and rings definitely.
Hey seagulls, if you want to find some pastel vomit sweaters on Taobao or Ebay, what do you search for?
I can't seem to get it right on Taobao, "kawaii sweater" on Ebay gives some results. Zminglel seems to pop up constantly on the latter, pic related; it's more or less the style I'm looking for.
I probably won't remember to review it tbh
Seeing as this is a generic cute fashion thread and I find this cute, does anyone know where I can find more outfits like this? I really like the earthy colours.
That looks very much like casual 40's inspired fashion to me.
Check out Ulyana Sergeenko's 2011 fall collection. Although it is high fashion, you can easily try to find similar pieces in normalfag fashion stores and it will basically result in your wanted aesthetic, which is a normalfag take on the 40s.
Has anyone used Sammy Dress? It looks like another Ali/Taobao outlet but with what appears to be legit reviews, encourages user photos and lots of stuff that fits western bods. Shipping is still by weight but I think this is basically the same I'd be paying at other places
Used it once, shit quality, items didn't weight nearly as much as they mentioned, and once I cancelled an order and never got a refund.
You are better off sticking to ebay, at least you know you will get your refund there.
I agree with this, I'd go with a cream colored shirt and some kind of cute cookie earrings would be an amazing touch, imo
I've used it and my every day purse is from there, but I did have to sew the strap back after it snapped from the weight and it's sort of cheap looking now that it's fraying since it's faux leather.
My cousin uses it and we did a joint order. I will look for the image of what I got. A few pieces were pretty decent but it's a bit of a hit and miss.
Wish I could have curled my hair, but I have a short pixie cut now that I can't do much with. Anyway, I'm wearing mostly Axes Femme, but not sure what to do about hair accessories or hats for casual jfashion. Any store recommendations?
I cancelled my order and surprisingly got my refund by end of day. I know where I can find some of those things especially the hairclips but I'm tripped up on the hoodie. Im worried it's just going to be like the super disappointing asymmetrical men's hoodies that /fa/ loves to hate.
Oh, lucky you, anon.
I really believe those hoods would only look good on you if you have a size A boobs and are very thin. I got something similar once and because I am a C cup, the top got stretched out in such an awkward way and it looked nothing like the item did in the picture, but then again I got it form yesstyle and this was about 5 years ago, so you might be a bit more lucky.
Does anyone know this girl? I have two images of her so I think she has a blog/fb/something where she posts photos
Also requesting blogs where people post cute outfits, reviews/hauls and just general cute lifestyle things
Oh that's so sad. Her stuff is cute.
But have a moefist for your fast response.
Oh you look adorable.
I think you could use a beret, cloche, or even a bowler hat with your pixie cut.
A nice pin on your jacket lapel
brown backpack is my everyday carry, but it is starting to fray or it's hard to explain that the faux leather trim seems to be coming off. I had it tear on me at the seam after I put too much into it. I haven't mended it and instead just lengthened the strap and now use it as a satchel. Kind of cheap, I'd opt for something higher quality in all honesty.
The white quilted bag was bigger than expected and very cute. Plenty of room, good quality, so is the other bag, which is actually my favorite of the three. I recommend it.
The peter pan collar dress is very cute. It's one size and pretty short, but it's adorable. Simple but the pattern is cute. I can't tell if it's dogs or cats, but it's my favorite of the dresses.
That whole order is from sammydress. I think they still have the sandals. I'd recommend you sew the bows down. They're basically regular sandals with a long piece of material tied in a bow to them. They're very cute and comfortable, but one came off on me at the airport and I didn't notice in my rush. I had to undo the other and just forsake the bow altogether, but they were my most used sandals all summer long. My foot tan can prove it.
Can anyone reccomend any brands whereI can buy a cute, retro/vintage style satchel bag(like pic related) that isn't made out of paper vinyl and will rip as soon as I put a book and water bottle in? I tried ordering one from ASOS and they sent me one that had been pre-used and had holes in it, wtf. I'm looking for scallops or fake lace or just classic.
I'd go for a real leather one by zatchels (they have a good sale on!) or cambridge satchel company. They looks smart enough for otome and such anyway, and you can just tie a bow or put a cute keychain on. I don't know of any scalloped ones but there are cute colours. I think it's worth getting something good quality, even if it is relatively plain and expensive.
Are those considered "cute"? I really want to wear one but I'm afraid it would clash with a generally cute outfit.
https://i-sos.world.taobao.com/ has a lot of cute bags, like pic related.
I purchased three different bags from this store. One of them got pretty damaged after about 8 months of daily use (and I don't treat my stuff gently). But then again it did cost me ~$15 with shipping so there's that.
the belt is pretty cheap but the dress itself is pretty cute. I liked it but if you can't find enough to place a large order, it's kind of not worth the trouble. I only did it because my cousin wanted me to help make her order large enough to score a significant discount, plus she was going through a rompers phase.
Not sure what sort of cute you're going for but I think the transparent ones tend to be a lot less harsh and obviously more neutral than a pastel color. Even white would work, the softer the color the better for casual cute outfits.
If your heart is set on the black one, and you're into creepy cute/pastel goth, I see black chokers in coords all the time and I think they work just fine, but if you're more of a cute girly top and skirt kind of girl you might wind up looking like Leda or Kiki, where it sort of works but also makes you look like a full on fetishy weeaboo.
Thanks Anon, could you translate this one for me too, please?
Thank you so much! Sorry for asking so much, but could you maybe translate the back too? I'm just so terribly curious!
Figured this would be the best place to ask, having trouble finding info on Ank Rogue Sizing. How does it run? Mostly interested in knit tops/sweaters and skirts. Any info is much appreciated.
most of it is pretty true to size. for skirts, i wouldn't buy them unless you have a waist that's no more than 26 inches, maybe 27. for sweaters you may have a tad more give depending on the material.
Oh good to know, thank you! Sounds like it should fit pretty well then. I tend to be between 25 and 26 inches. Bust is around 35-35.5, I fit ETC and Axes Femme knit tops great, is the sizing about the same?
It was cute and not as cheap as I expected it to be, but it's kind of short and it makes my ass look pretty ridiculous, because it's already very big and I wind up feeling like nicki minaj. I know that's popular right now, but I think it's gross.
It's still a cute dress though.
searching the site led me to this beauty and the heartbreak of seeing it out of stock.
Not the same anon, but I have 90cm bust and easily fit their items, they're just more form-fitted. Be careful with older stuff - I had to sell few blouses from older collections, because I couldn't button them up.
I got my coat last week. I was sooo happy i feel so cute wearing it look at how adorable it is. It's super cozy and all but so filled with fleece it's kinda small? for a M and fits me like a S?...
Sorry if i am getting carried away but that kind of things makes me so excited
I got a satchel from ASOS recently (specifically a River Island model, though), and although I hardly put anything in it besides a notebook or two, small bottle of water, misc. items like a pencil case or whatever one of the straps came right off soon after I bought it. There's also a ton of stray threads emerging, one of the front clasps falls off all the time. It's shockingly made but I find it difficult to find satchels in the old school, dark brown style I like.
Considering following what >>8686379 said.
small breasts are a blessing for a-fashion, anon... i have huge tits and it looks awful with most styles... i especially enjoy wearing t-shirt with a-line skirts, but my boobs look stupidly big. also, nobody minds if you are chubby and have chubby legs. as long as you wear clothes that flatter you, you're fine.
Thanks anon! H&M has a few cute options, but all in black, unfortunately. Guess I'll have to take my search online.
Eh, I don't think my thighs are bad. Like anon >>8705146 said, the low angle isn't incredibly flattering. I was more concerned with catching my entire outfit in the shot.
Being slightly chubby is okay for j-fashion. Just carefully look at the sizing and aim for skirts with shirring or an elastic band. I personally like high-waist skirts that flare out, like an a-line. Culottes aren't a bad choice if you aren't entirely comfortable in a short skirt, too.
This is adorable, anon! Go for it! Plus, it's normie enough not to stand out like lolita would.
Eh, they're different, but not so different that it'd be impossible to mix them up occasionally. Kfash is more mature, Jfash is more cute/girly, and Cfash is, iirc, somewhere between the two (though I'm not entirely sure about that).
Not the anon who asked for a review but wow, this is so cute! The fish button and the little pawprints are so precious. Out of curiosity, did you read the size information? I've found that some places have a very unique idea of what a medium is. I know it's probably too tight because of the fleece, but were the other measurements right?
Hi, I have a question..
I tend to dress like a little kid from the 60's-70's, lots of earthy tones, sets like the set in question but with a less elaborate blouse, lots of jumper/suspender skirts with frilly but simple blouses. A lot of it is from mori brands/stores, but with minimal layering and less flowy. Earthy colours and pale pinks.
Is there a name for this style, or did I create my own?
Thanks anon :)
I received the item a week ago,- the dress is absolutely beautiful and seems sturdy and durable. The only problem I've noticed is that I have quite broad shoulders, and the top half of the dress does not look too flattering on me. I think I need something to cover my shoulders, like a crochet jacket or a bolero, but I'm not sure what to look for. Any input is much appreciated!
I found this and thought it was really cute. What style is this?
Does anyone know if Yesstyle is a legit, ie non-reseller shop?
Also, does anyone know if there is a brand original of below link, and if so where to get it?
I looooved the kind of style Dakooters used to have circa 2011-2012, now it's kawaii pasteru vomit nonsense. It was so cute yet...mature without being TOO mature?? Idk, but it still inspires me to this day. And damn her shoops filled my heart with jelly.
Will post some more pics if anyone is interested, i got some snaps from her outfit videos that i kept with outfits i liked
haha i sound like a creep now but some of her things were cute though, her fake baby pink Vivienne Westwood Cardigan and peter pan lace collar is adorable
Ashamed to say i also kiiiinda like some of Venus outfit, rarely but i like this one, i have the same shirt, same shorts but in light blue and same thights, it's pretty simple yet cute, i add a cute little necklace (cake, fried egg,cookie,...and such) for when i wanna feel kawaiidesoo. This way i feel cute while feeling comfortable and not getting too many stares
Dislike her too but i loved her style so much back then. I think kiki used to help her for outfit videos and such, she still seems to have clothes she used to wear so maybe they were kiki's.
Going to go to old PULL they had a whooole thread dedicated about her outfits with pics of it, with some chance i can find it via the wayback machine?
It is legit. I actually didn't find it to be as hilariously bad as it's supposed to be, I'd recommend going with the (slightly pricier) Korean brands as they *tend to* have better quality
I really wish Pixielocks would do just general cute fashion. She has so much potential but she feels the need to constantly cling to a label or jump on trends. She's also still just a teenager and has room to mature and grow so I have hope.
Posting stuff i can find since i only had like 5 pics of her. Browsing old pull and trying to find old images
I frikkin love her cardigan there. Wish she would come back to this style...It was so "unique"? Like reminds me of a FF character but also inspired by cutesy fashion in general with creepy cute elements and such
They only posted Dakota related replies, where are you getting asian, white or cultures?
Anyone have some inspo or a blog they'd for recommend for winter clothing? I love wearing dresses and skirts but ever since it started to get cold I have defaulted to pants. I have ~10 pairs of tights and have yet to wear any.
Here's what I wear whenever it gets cold:
>skin colored leggings with inner lining of polar fleece or thermoactive leggings
>warm socks (over calfs/no shows/liners depending on the type of shoes I'll be wearing)
Works great even when it gets below -15C
For those into Dolly Kei or whoever enjoys collecting vintage clothing, how much luck do you typically have thrifting? Do you prefer general thrift stores, or stores that cater specifically to vintage/antique clothing?
Honestly, general thrift (at least the ones I've been to) are really awful for this. I would definitely go for boutiques that cater to the general aesthetic unless your thrift stores are in an area where people would give up things like this. So, definitely not in CA where I've looked. Maybe if you live in colder parts or places with more European immigrants? (assuming you're in the US or Canada).
I would definitely look up ethnic prints from Europe after doing some research on traditional dresses and patterns.
I love this style so much, damnit.
On the flip side, I think accessories for DK are really easy to find compared to other J-fash since it's so forgiving and you can lift from both normie and western alternative styles. Like the oddfellows collars are easy to find on ebay or etsy and places like Forever 21 always have things with tassels and interesting textures this time of year.
Berets and other hats are easy to find, and I would recommend looking into Tudor and Elizabethan England style hats for this. I got a really cute hat with gold trimming and tassel on the side from a Ren faire.
Maybe look at liz lisa coordinates? They style a lot of sweater/tight combos
I'd love to see more casual cute fashion with brand clothing. I'm actually surprised I don't see it done more.
i think she is still cute without shoop but no barbie kawaii godessu level.
Now she is living in japan being a moderru and her style went to absolute shit shooping and clothing wise. Now she shoops herself like a retarded alien foetus and dress in kawaii pastel vomit crap and talk with a high pitched voice.
I really miss her old style and persona ugh. She was a huge liar and bitch (photoshop to hell and back, claiming her clothes were the real brand when they were cheap taobao knock offs,"i totes do not wear extensions, circle lenses and false lashes",approving "you're so pretty i wanna kill myself.." and "i have a boner"comments but deleting those asking the name of the music used or if she used photoshop or,... half assed apology about her past behavior "boohoo it was other people fault",...) but i looked past that because i enjoyed her style in general. Now it's shit. But she gotta keep on attracting nihongos by being super sugary sweet
You're righr some of these look like she had a huge taobao haul and slapped some of the stuff together without thinking.
I have her cream and blue LizLiza dress and her navy blue VW cardigan and her black and white shorts with bows on the sides though. Ah and one very similar dress shirt and two bowties and a ruffle skirt.
