why even charge at that point? just fucking include your stupid instructions with the product. It's just 20 cents
>>8647847
I don't think that that listing is meant to be bought. I think she just wanted to create an extra page so she could add more pictures and more text. Thats a really weird way to do it, but, eh.
also, 20 cents is the minimum amount you can list something for on etsy.

I'm looking for some interesting/cool gothic lolita jewelry (brooches, hair stuff, necklaces, anything). Any suggested shops? I'm ok with bone and fur as well.
Just going through the products via the search function, the majority of what I see is either hot topicish, or I've seen it on aliexpress for 1/10th of the price.
I'd love to support a crafter who comes up with cool, unique items.
>>8647984
I have bad taste and am in a hurry, but maybe some of these will be interesting.

look for the blinding hot pink/orange dress to find it in the catalog
>>8648048
I think it's some tumblr hivemind thing, like how it's become popular to draw both genders with red noses, manface and stretch marks. One person designs clothes with passable designs and a shitty oversaturated colour scheme and suddenly neon bootleg kei is in fashion. If people bothered to take two minutes to think about what they were doing it would have turned out a lot better. It's essentially the same problem as "lolita" dresses with awkwardly small prints.

Any Etsy shit for guys? Or is that not a thing? I like buying random crap kind of like this, especially if it's unique. But not looking to turn my room into something that looks like a unicorn rainbow storm slammed into it.
>>8671631
you're going to be more specific of what you're looking for if you're asking for help finding stuff, but yes, etsy has plenty of stuff for guys
>>8671631
Only 20% of etsy sellers are male :/
I'm a male seller on etsy, and there is plenty of unisex things on etsy, but very few things that target men specifically.
>>8672388
You don't have to be male to sell menswear, though. There's a shitload of accessories for men on etsy--watches, ties, cufflinks, messenger bags, wallets, phone cases, etc. Loads, actually, and a lot of nerdy shit/alt fashion stuff. So neckbeards have a plethora of comics book hoodies but less...dress shirts and pants, but do you need etsy for that?

any advice?
>>8683739
Advertise, I guess? Etsy's super well known and actively advertises products, but you're kinda on your own with Storenvy. Online followers and interesting products seem to do well.
>>8684194
Storenvy also doesn't tattle on you for making anything that remotely resembles a character or logo from something. You can make whatever you want there.
>>8647669
Did you mean to post this in the regretsy thread?
>>8684566
Different anon but at least with Storenvy you don't need to put in any credit card info in order to open a store and they got paypal payments back.
Just wish there was feedback for shops/items like with Etsy.
>welcome to etsy where a black piece of fabric is over $100

Question:
Would people still go for quirky printed skater dresses or leggings (or swimwear even though winter is coming)? Like galaxy print, fish scales, kittens, hamburgers. Etsy listings are about $50 a dress, and $25-30 leggings, and I think that sounds profitable/worth the effort. Would buy or regret?

This anon was posting in the crafting thread for awhile. Some cute stuff if you're into sweet
http://jellyultra.storenvy.com/
>>8685425
I would love to see some nice galaxy print stockings to go with Dreamy Planetarium
Also pretty desperate for interestingly designed plus size leggings. Most of us gals are.
What do you guys think about a Storenvy shop selling Taobao/Jfashion/Cosplay stuff that isn't extremely marked up? Talking about $15-30 for wigs (depending on quality and length) and about $10-30 for clothes/accessories and that's all with shipping included. And it's USA based, already have items in stock, not that "Pay me now and you'll get you item in 20-30 days" bullshit.
Or is Storenvy just oversaturated with resellers as it is? I resell a lot on Facebook but I've been wanting to cut out the hassle and make a proper shop for a while.
>>8685582
I would dig it just to have something to indulge in without feeling like I have to justify hefty shipping by ordering MORE on taobao. Faster shipping is also a huge bonus.
>>8685672
Thanks for the response anon! I do ship pretty quick, next day (aside from weekends) and it's always First Class 2-5 day or Priority 1-3 day, depending on weight.
Guess I need to stock up on stuff then that isn't already being sold out the ass. Poor tattoo tight craze, can't even give them away at this point.
>>8685677
If you priced down some of the actual clothing (the many Not-Liza Lisa But Almost Liz Lisa replicas) you might even get to keep accessories and tights at a normalish price. I see some storenvies go nuts by charging $15+ for tights, berets, and hair accessories, but a lot keep them cheapish. If you had good prices on clothing, I'd throw accessories that were $5-10 dollars in my cart, even if a lot of other sellers had them.
>>8685688
True. I've just had rotten luck selling tights in the past and when I got a couple in the Bodyline sale for cheap it took over a month to sell three pairs and that was with them being priced $5 with free shipping. I haven't stocked them since.
I'll see what I can do though anon. I've already got some Jfashion clothes on hand and a few wigs and generic kawaii stuff. Just need to work on a store front and get more stock.
>>8685582
This anon here. I'm in the process of getting the shop open and stocked. Iffy about promoting on /cgl/ but if I do I'll make sure to drop a 15% off coupon off for everyone as a thank you.

Bruh, those go for $9 on eBay
So, storenvy related and not Etsy but, does anyone know if Mossbadger actually casts her own frames? She says in the item descriptions that they are 'hand cast' but this exact frame style is available in bulk from China. So did she make her own mold from these frames? Or is she just using them? Or touching them up?
>>8698680
dropped my pic
>>8698680
The molds are pretty readily available.
>>8685425
>Like galaxy print, fish scales, kittens, hamburgers
Seen them all as dresses and leggings on ebay for $20 or less
>>8698680
I'm pretty sure she made molds and casts them in whatever color she needs.
>>8698680
I think hand-cast would just mean she mixes the resin and pours it into a mold, rather than buying pre-made frames. I don't think that implies it's an original design she made, I'm pretty sure it's not.
>>8698680
i have wondered since i see the components she uses on chinese bulk sites often. i think some of her parts (like bow pins and cherub connectors) are probably sourced elsewhere. it is hard to imagine hand-casting all that metal.
>>8653207
I bought this exact collar. It was kind of thin for the price but still cute and wearable.
>>8710225
Oh, good to know. So it's on par with Taobao/ebay quality then?
>>8687085
I would definitely shop there anon. You're awesome!
>>8710265
I would agree! It's still very lovely!
>>8710225
>>8710265
I have this >>8653207 too - to compare I have baby's fawn cape from 2011, IW's fawn collar, and the AatP bambi fur cardigan. The thickness of the fur seems to be on par with the IW collar and baby cape, which are 'thin' to begin with, I guess. It's not super plush like the aatp bambi cardigan, but you can tell that the pile is super puffy in the stock photos for that anyway.
The fur is pretty soft, though. The baby cape has kind of rough fur, which was sort of disappointing for me.
>>8653207
Just bought the capelet from this seller actually, I'll post a review as soon as it arrives.
Right off the bat though the seller is super sweet. I made a stupid boob mistake and they were really patient with me so four for you.
