Nothing because everything I've ordered is currently stuck in some indefinite postal hell.
Overdue bills and generic ad campaigns.

Bought a shirt on the 25th and I got it on the 6th.

Does anyone else have a really miserable time with figuring out their wishlist? I find myself never being able to narrow it to much less than 100, even when I'm sacrificing shit I'm in love with for the sake of lowering the numbers. I guess I'm just going to end up one of those girls getting crushed to death by a brand avalanche by the time I'm content with my wardrobe.

I'm awful at choosing blouses. I can never figure out what styles and colors will match well until I already have them, so I just have stacks of blouses sitting around, and most of them are bad for my wardrobe. I need a mediator.
If you can afford to do it by trial and error just do a clear-out of ones you don't use. I had a similar issue where I have a lot of blouses that I kinda like but they fit my body slightly awkwardly or have details that piss me off or their lace is different to other lace I own and I used to feel bad for trading up those pieces because there was nothing actually wrong with them. In the end I bit the bullet, bought a load of duplicate items when I saw blouses I liked better, and sold off the originals. No regrets but I did lose money, and I'm incredibly happy now I have, e.g., an IW blouse with lace that exactly matches the lace on my IW headdress, nothing with over-large peter pan collars, and no more blouses I can only wear under JSKs because they gap on the bust.
Are you fairly new? In my experience being in lolita a few years, the issue resolvesitself after a while as you rotate wishlist pieces in and out of your wardrobe. There'll be stuff that arrives that doesn't fit so well or look so good IRL, and stuff that you simply get bored of. If you're disciplined you'll end up cutting it down to the best pieces in the end anyway.

For me, now I already have the basis of a wardrobe down and have a variety of the cuts and colours and materials I like, most of my wishlist is just stuff that I'd like to own at some point rather than stuff I'd want in my wardrobe forever and ever and ever (AKA dream pieces). Even with versatile solids that I can use over and over again, which I have a lot of, I find I get bored of the ones that don't have a beautiful fit after maybe ten wears and end up rotating them out too. I do have a 70-item wishlist but I know I'd feel really overwhelmed having so much, so I prefer to just have maybe a dozen wishlist prints in my wardrobe at a time.

So we've discussed how the cosplay scene has changed over the years, but, how has cosplay changed you?
Personality-wise, I've become more open and social after starting to attend a weekly prop-making workshop, by hanging out with the rest of the students. At cons, knowing about costumes and prop crafting has been a great conversation starter with other cosplayers, too.
And learning about so many different tools, techniques, and materials has turned me into the neighborhood´s handyman, and seeing people relying on me has been a huge confidence boost.

I'm much more self conscious about my body and face and my self esteem dropped.
Cosplay turned into a creative outlet for me; it made me focus more on details and has definitely influenced my aesthetic tastes.
It also gave me a weird relationship with makeup for a while which I'm still kinda recovering from; I got into all this around the age where girls start becoming self-aware of their own looks, and the ideals I looked up to were either fictional or Asian, both of which to a 13 year old didn't look like they needed to wear makeup (even though now it's easier to tell they were). Made me self-conscious about my face/feel extra ugly as a teen.

Socially, I made a lot of the friends I have through cosplay, it's been the bulk of my social life desu. I'm normally very nervous about talking to people, but being in cosplay and having people approach me because of it has helped.
Conversely, I think it's also taught me not to trust people just because of a shared interest; there are some bad eggs in the community.
I'm also kind of a quality snob now. But that might have happened anyhow.
I'm a lolita not a cosplayer, but same

Reposting my question from the last thread
Are there good, up-to-date resources for lolita in Spanish? I googled but I kind of hate what I found. I could make a guide but I don't want to do unnecessary work.
Why Scotland edition? Both comma are dead!
Because I love Scotland and I got to choose

>Animecon (June 9th - 11th, The Hague ZH), a con that really needs no introduction.
>Castlefest (August 3rd - 6th, Lisse ZH), the other outdoor fantasy orientated convention.
>Abunai! (August 25th - 27th, Veldholven NB), at this point all the Hunger Games jokes are too easy to make.
>Amsterdam Comic Con (September 2nd & 3rd, Amsterdam, NH), you should know the drill by now.

So who's gonna put the Netherlands on the map @Animecon ? We know any cool cosplayer who is going to attend ?
I guess every half decent and good Dutch and Belgian cosplayer.
Judges: Reika, Pion, Fabricator Djinn and some others
I have also seen some very nice C4 teams.
Sakuraflor obviously..

There is obscure character thread >>9440266 for unknown characters so why not the opposite

what if i am doing one already?
I love Samus, but the world doesn't need another not-buff Samus.
I want to do someone from SNK (specifically annie), but it's so over done that even if I made the entire thing myself, people would assume it was bought and would just group me in with the other 20 scouts with ebay cosplays.

with matching itafashion

I brought a homemade bento for me and my friend at my last con. It was cold no matter where we went so we ended up getting a hot pepperoni pizza from the hotel café instead of eating my healthy (yet cold) bento of teriyaki chicken, white rice, green peas, carrots, and broccoli.
I once knew a guy who said that he disables the hotel room's smoke detectors, stores fresh ingredients in the mini fridge or small ice-filled cooler, and uses a camping stove to make meals every convention.
Another person I know would actually plan their meals around their cosplay. Naruto? Ramen. Vash from Trigun? Cake donuts. Kakyoin from Jojo? Cherries.

>Overall, what do you usually eat at conventions: snacks or actual meals?
>Do you bring food from home or do you eat at the food trucks?
>Do you visit nearby restaurants for every meal or are restaurants only a suppertime thing?
>Do you carefully plan out your weekend's diet, stick to your everyday diet without thinking, or go all-out on con junk food?
>Have you had bad experiences with con food?
>Have you had any particularly good experiences with con food?
>Do you opt for Japanese food so you can immerse yourself in the ~full con experience~?
>Do you choose your food based on your cosplay that day? (Like if you're cosplaying a character who's known for loving a certain food.)

Share your con food and/or con bento food ideas! Recipes would also be great!

I'll hopefully be starting this (armor component) in the next month or two. I've made armor/weapons out of foam before but it'll be my first time working with insulation foam, so I'm excited to see the end results and how I like it in comparison to just using EVA foam.

On that note, what would be my best bet for sealing insulation foam? Does it react/behave the same way as dense EVA sheets in regards to paint/primer?
I'm curious, why insulation foam? I've used it before and hated working with it because of how brittle it was.

I sealed it with some sort of epoxy that I forget the name of and it came out kind of badly A ton of bumps formed that I had to sand out.

Pic related, I made the base shape of the sword out of insulation foam.
I was talking about that Pink insulation foam everyone is always raving about- Apparently it's decent and it also generally works out way cheaper than EVA foam in Aus, which is my main concern.
Is that the one you used? Because if it is fairly brittle I might reconsider.
