No seifuku thread up? Now there is!
Selfposts, magazine scans, hauls and questions all okay. Idol inspo (uniform inspired stage costumes) are alright.
Some discussion questions to start us off:
> it's almost summer! What are your warm weather days tips and tricks?
> What type of legwear do you like with your uniform?
> Are you a student? When do you wear this style and why?
> Have you worn a uniform in the past? Why do you like nanchatte/kogal/etc?
> What's your favorite item that you own? Favorite item that you don't own?

If I was born a guy I guess that would make me a straight guy so I think I'd probably stay away from lolita to avoid looking like a fetishist

New thread since old one is approaching autosage. Keep it /cgl/ related.

Questions to ponder for this edition:
ā¢Are there pets that you consider more "lolita" than others? If so, why? Should that image matter to people?
ā¢Lolitas who have weird pets?
ā¢Coording with your pets?
ā¢Do people really give a shit if I have a dog hair on my burando as long as I'm not selling it to them that way?
ā¢Pet hair removal methods?
I wear goth and I have a sphynx and a black cat, which I guess both fit the image, but I've had both of them since before I started wearing lolita. People who try to have certain pets to fit in with the image of being 'more' lolita than others can suck my frills. It's a living fucking creature, not an accessory.
That said, I think you can coordinate with your pets, just don't make them miserable so you can have a kawaii photoshoot for CoF or Instagram.
>selling with pet hair
Really, just make sure you wash your shit so you don't set off someone's allergies. I know it's damn near impossible to get every hair off, so as long as you're making an attempt, I don't really care if I buy a dress that comes to me with a little fur or something. Smelling like animals is a no-go, though.

Let's discuss the book.
I just ordered mine on Amazon.
>>9474845
Did anyone get their copy yet? I'm mostly curious about the content from Novala. I'll order it if it's good.
>>9474857
The Novala content is a short essay and an interview, it didn't seem like it was that different from some of his other previous lolita essays to me. Overall the book is a nice collection of short essays and comics, I think the most debatable part would be how the different styles are shown/defined. Would probably rate it 3.5 - 4 stars per amazon's system.
>>9474845
I got my copy! I'm not done reading it yet. So far I like it and it's definitely worth a spot on my shelf. One thing that does irritate me is how ink-heavy some of the pages are. The ink keeps getting on my fingers.
Has anyone seen this for sale recently? Thanks CGL!

Let's have a big old feel-fest. Remember to keep it cgl-related, and don't derail.
I'm a fatty-chan working on getting in shape but sometimes I can't help but wish I had a lolita fitness buddy. I talk to people here and there and I do have friends on myfitnesspal but idk, I feel like it would be nice to have a fellow fattychan getting in shape with me. We could keep each other motivated and share our dream dresses. Maybe even offer support in difficult weight-loss situations like tea parties etc.
Anyways back to sweating the fat off.
>had to change my day 2 costume from cody to terdy bogard
the only thing worse than people not recognizing your character is if they just think youre a generic WESTERN costume.
oh well least i can get to wear sleeveless costumes again, gon a double my intake of oral steroids so i can do him and ryu some justice.
i got raped 5-ish days ago and my attacker got blood all over my favorite dress and now i am too afraid to wear lolita because the idea of being feminine and attracting attention scares me now
After seeing a lot of discussion in the wake of store and magazines closures about whether youth subcultures are in decline globally, I got to thinking. How often do you guys see anyone wearing alt fash in the wild these days? Do you ever see lolitas out and about? Do you feel like it's more or less people than a few years ago? What do you see?
>Where do you live? (Can give country instead of city if you don't want to be too specific, but it'd be helpful to say if your area is urban/rural/rich/poor/etc.)
>Since how often you go out and see people will affect the results, what are your life circumstances? Are you a student, working or a NEET?
>Do you wear jfashion/altfash yourself?
>Not counting meetups, do you ever see people wearing lolita or other jfashions in your area? How often? Do you think it's on the rise?
>Do you ever see western alt fash like goth, punk or emo in your area? How often? Do you feel like it's on the decline?
>Do you see people wearing vintage clothes or general hipstery clothing where you are? Do you think dressing in girly normie clothes is accepted where you are, or will anything fancier than jeans get you stares?
Cosplayers are welcome to respond about what they see where they live too, I'm really curious about the trends globally.

>Where do you live? (Can give country instead of city if you don't want to be too specific, but it'd be helpful to say if your area is urban/rural/rich/poor/etc.)
U.S., urban
>Since how often you go out and see people will affect the results, what are your life circumstances? Are you a student, working or a NEET?
Student
>Do you wear jfashion/altfash yourself?
Yes, lolita
>Not counting meetups, do you ever see people wearing lolita or other jfashions in your area? How often? Do you think it's on the rise?
I met a Lolita in one of my classes once. That's it.
>Do you ever see western alt fash like goth, punk or emo in your area? How often? Do you feel like it's on the decline?
I might have seen one or two goth/punkish people in my area. Emo definitely died in the 2010s.
>Do you see people wearing vintage clothes or general hipstery clothing where you are? Do you think dressing in girly normie clothes is accepted where you are, or will anything fancier than jeans get you stares?
Hipstery fashion is the norm wear I am and "vintage" seems to be on the rise, specifically cheesy Seinfeld-core 80s thrifting. I'm sure super girly normie fashion would be accepted, even encouraged.
>>9477800
>Where do you live?
Scotland. Grew up in a small town, but moved to a city.
>What are your life circumstances?
Student, part-time job.
>Do you wear jfashion/altfash yourself?
I wear lolita, goth and vintage.
>Not counting meetups, do you ever see people wearing lolita or other jfashions in your area?
I've only seen a wild lolita once in the past five years. I see pastel aesthetic stuff and weeb teens occasionally but nothing obviously jfash. Mainstream trends seem to be getting girlier and I see ruffles, millenial pink, holographic stuff, etc on the high street but IDK who buys it here because I rarely see anyone actually wearing it.
>Do you ever see western alt fash like goth, punk or emo in your area? How often? Do you feel like it's on the decline?
Basically never unless there's a concert or a club night, I definitely feel like it's on the decline. Younger relatives have told me that there's only one emo and one goth in their school of 1000+ pupils, whereas back in my day you had large groups of them. Apparently indie/"soft grunge" aesthetics are in but considered mainstream. I see alt-looking teens maybe once every few weeks and alt-looking adults every few months. A lot of the goth/hippy/metalhead adults I see are in their 40s or 50s.
>Do you see people wearing vintage clothes or general hipstery clothing where you are? Do you think dressing in girly normie clothes is accepted?
Hipsters (undershaves, coloured hair, baggy second-hand layers) maybe a couple of times a week, proper vintage almost never, even though I visit vintage shops a lot. 90s/00s sportswear seems popular but older stuff is very unusual. Unless you're on a night out, skirts, dresses and heels get a lot of attention here in winter, even if you're wearing opaque tights and wrapped up warm. People seem to dress down in jeans and hoodies. I've had people comment just because I was wearing a plain pastel jumper with light blue jeans and white Converse.
>Where do you live? (Can give country instead of city if you don't want to be too specific, but it'd be helpful to say if your area is urban/rural/rich/poor/etc.)
Portugal, live in very urban area close to the capital. People are not rich here.
>Since how often you go out and see people will affect the results, what are your life circumstances? Are you a student, working or a NEET?
I work various part-time jobs, one of them at a different town and the others at home
>Do you wear jfashion/altfash yourself?
Rarely
>Not counting meetups, do you ever see people wearing lolita or other jfashions in your area? How often? Do you think it's on the rise?
I've spotted a couple of lolitas meeting at the capital, but around here I've never seen one
>Do you ever see western alt fash like goth, punk or emo in your area? How often? Do you feel like it's on the decline?
Yes. A lot. There are a lot of goths here, a lot of punks and so on. This city is famous for hosting a lot of concerts that attract those folks.
>Do you see people wearing vintage clothes or general hipstery clothing where you are? Do you think dressing in girly normie clothes is accepted where you are, or will anything fancier than jeans get you stares?
People dress whatever they want and there are a lot of hipsters. Nothing will be stared at unless it's way too revealing or outstanding. For example, I'm afraid of going out in lolita here, because it could be dangerous. But wearing a sundress would be ok.
It's a cool town and I love it, but it's dangerous sometimes. It has a lot of subcultures too, it's very eclectic
